ooc Disclaimer: Since I have lately seen people complaining about election results which differ from the polls, I'm just going to tell you right now. The elections very likely will come out differently from the polls.
IC: TEJANO STATE NEWS, JULY 30, 2007
After a month of deliberation, the Interim Council has yet to elect a President. with a two-thirds majority. The interim council has declared itself "hung," and has decided to send the elections down to the people.
The two candidates for the election, as you know, are the two following people:
RENATO FIDEL VÉLEZ CALDERÓN: A General People's Assembly representative from Estado Paso. On his agenda is enacting presidential decree powers to rework the Tejano political system into a multi-party democracy very quickly. He has no announced goals beyond this.
TSUCHII MIHO: A GPA representative from Estado Teraoka. A mere 21 years old, Tsuchii has advocated a "one-party democracy," which would involve reducing the Tejano Worker's Party in government, institution of more popular referendums and freedom of the press on the format of a one-party socialist state. She also advocates cracking down hard on the remaining fascist rebels in the country.
All foreign donations to either campaign are strictly forbidden. Anybody found receiving such donations will be disqualified from the election.
