It had been some time since the last major civil war, relatively. Five years of peace seemed an eternity to a nation that had had more civil wars than it had claimed systems. The Human Empire had mantained its foothold as the majority party of the Disputed Territories, and as such, spoke for the nation. To commemorate this seemingly peaceful time, the Empire had decided to place Ini Dutu on the map, and get involved in Intergalactic Affairs, as they were. Limited contacts had been made with other nations in the past, though most did not maintain diplomatic ties. It was with this history of being overlooked, forgotten, and embroiled in war that the message was based.


We of Ini Dutu will be holding a diplomatic summit for anyone who wishes to attend, in the attempt to facilitate lasting relationships. The coordinants for the meeting are encrypted with this message. It will take place in 3 months time.

"So, has the Council gotten to see this yet?"

"Yes, sir. They have decided to let the company handle this, as we are apparently the only group in the protectorate that has permission to participate in international relations."

"That tends to be more in the direction of blasting some stone-aged nation back to primordial soup so we can mine their world to pebbles, but I see their reasoning." A short pause later, he continued. "Has the board suggested anyone to lead our delegation?"

"Yes, sir. The choices they have sent you are Galaxy Commanders Drake, Argus, and Williams."

"So soon... How long have we had this message in our system before you brought it to me?"

"Almost six hours."

"Okay, have Drake handle it. Also, have him choose the rest of the delegation from among his own staff. After, of course, we find out how many people would be appropriate for our party."

"So, send orders to GCom Drake for him to begin preparing, and send a reply to Ini Dutu to RSVP and receive more information on the summit?"

"That's it."

"I'll get right on that, sir." And with that, the aid left. Three hours later, approximately nine and a half hours after the original message was received, a message was sent to Ini Dutu.

A representative from the Protectorate IPAF shall arrive at the coordinates you have sent us approximately twenty-four hours prior to the start of the summit.

Our representative will require that landing space be made available for a dropship whose dimensions are being sent with this message.

We would also greatly appreciate any information on limitations of our representative's escorts for the summit. The sooner that we can get information on this, the better.
