AN ARTICLE FROM AN OUTSIDE MAGAZINE

The Kingdom of Lureva is a nation of over 300 million people. The Monarchy is the most powerful force in the country. What the King says goes and the current king, King Alessandro who is 60 years old and has ruled with absolute power for 35 years has created a storm of controversy outside his own country. His 50 year old wife wife Queen Lani and his 20 year old daughter princess Lisi have been shielded from the public eye for 10 years.

The Queen is rarely seen in public and if she is she is heavily coverent in clothing, wearing sunglasses. The Princess has not been seen in public for 10 years and now people are starting to get suspicions about what is happening behind the Voroleti Walls to the Imperial Home. The Lurevan Nobility refuses to comment only saying "The King is a great man, I dont have anything to say about his family, God serve the King"

In these recent months the King has tightened his grip on the country, torture is widespread, people are dissapearing, jail sentences for even minor crimes have increased and the execution rate has increased by 30% in one year.
Royal Watchers outside the country are saying that they suspect the king of Abuse after all it is widely known he is a chronic Alcoholic, a violent drunk and rumors are spreading that he is extremely frustrated at the fact he has no Male heir to keep the Voroleti name to the throne and crown.

One member of the Nobility that now lives abroad has said that one time at a party celebrating the Princesses 15th birthday. The king Personally took control of all the planning, he only invited HIS closest friends, he got heavily drunk and all night he spent embarrasing his wife and daughter infront of his friends "I felt so sorry for the girl" He commented
He even went on to say that he pressured her to dance with him and when she refused he grabbed her by the hair and dragged her onto the dance floor.

In Public the people know never to question the monarch and so on the street we got the same answer
"We Love the royal family, they have done so much for us, without our nation or our King we may as well be dead!"

the loud noise of Secretary Hogart's boots echoed through the bulding. he was carrying a file with Intel, recon and sattelite pictures of tyranny in Lureva. Hogart opened the door to the President's office "Alexander, we have some bad news, a corrupt monach in some unheard of nation is abusing his power and he is also a fucking drunken moron" he said "send a marine battlegroup" said the president "give that moron a long reign over a prison cell" he said

There are few times more uneasy and unstable than the reign of a madman on a dying throne, but that was exactly the way the Izmaylovskaya Gang liked it. Although, quite frankly, they couldn't care less about the well-being of the Lurevan people or the fate of their crazy ruler, they knew a potentially good business venture when they saw it. Killing the king and triggering revolution would open up the floodgates to foreign investment and competition, not to mention the deliciously appalling corruption of the post-monarchial chaos.

For weeks, they had been gradually seeding the country with contacts and creating an infrastructure with which to supply their men within the country, and now it was time to actually make a move. A team of assassins, all trained in a wide variety of techniques, were en route to the country to begin plotting the downfall of the king.

It would take time, but they knew hard currency went far and that the king had few allies and even fewer honorable men at his disposal. All they needed was an opening.

The King was sitting at the head of a large round table in a huge grand hall. the Kings ministers were discussing amoungst themselves then the king stood up, he was drunk and his words were a bit slurred. He held up the outside magazine
"how the hell did THIS get in the country!" he waved around the magazine that had the article on 35 years of tryanny in the royal family
"God has appointed me this position as King, I control everything that goes on and yet this magazine reached its way in MY COUNTRY!"

one of the ministers spoke up "Um well maybe you should let the princess andthe queen join you on your public journeys so the people can see them?"

"WHAT! that would endanger the royal family! they must stay with my care! as a father and husband i must protect them ALWAYS! and that applies to our beloved nation as a father of the people I MUST PROTECT THEM!"

he slammed his fist on the table "Who ever is responsible for leaking this outside crap into the country i want them found and killed, i want anybody who questions the authority of out Monarchy to be eliminated, If anything from the outside leaks into this country ever again i want all foriegners to be sent out of the country!"

"beats his wife and daughter i say and movement from Cazelia forces "said the Emperor reading a report that was hand to him a hour ago

Astapkovich's Restaurant

It was late, just after closing at the restaurant and the proprietor was just turning off the neon sign that advertised "Traditional Vetalian Cuisine" in the window. However, there were still a group of customers, very special customers, in one of the private rooms at the back of the restaurant. A waiter came in with a bottle of sbiten and then another came in bearing plates of pelmeni and two bowls of solyanka.

"Sbiten? Interesting choice, Borya. I didn't know you liked honey that much."
"I've always loved it. Only reason I never drank it before is because it only became popular in the past few years."

"Yes, yes. I guess sometimes people feel nostalgic for the past...I know I do. But, before I digress any farther, down to business.

It appears that the King is displeased about such...distasteful...material leaking out of the country. Rumor has it that he could end up expelling foreigners from the country."

"Yeah, I know. I heard it this morning from some of our contacts. It's great news, isn't it?"

"Incredible news. If we work our way in to the king's good graces by...dealing...with some of these dissidents, we'll have a damn good shot at taking him out. I know a lot of people at the top will buckle once we start putting 'financial pressure' on them."

"You know dissidents?"
"Of course, I've been having one of my guys tell them that we're working as part of a liberation front for a while now. Plenty of evidence, names, residence, photos and all that, and to make things even better they have no idea he worked for us. Hell, he wasn't even Vetalian."
"So we're going to out them?"
"Tomorrow, I'll contact their chief of security and ask that we be given an audience before the king. I'll let him now we're on his side and that we can do more than provide names if he'll give us a position in the court. From there, we start lining up our nobles, officials, guards all of them, and when the time comes we let the hammer drop."
"Sounds good, sounds good. Will it work?"
"If it doesn't, I've got Aeroflot tickets for us for the first plane out of here."

The sun was out, the sky was almost all blue with only small clouds. it was quite warm. On the streets of the capital Crysrania the people were completely unaware of the problems of the royal family.
70% of the population was under the poverty line and the city dwellers lived in small one room flats shared with up to 6 other people. the Aristocracy and Nobility lived in luxurious town houses and had large country villa's.

Vehicles for regular citizens were banned but for the Nobility and government members it was legal to own vehicles. the monarchy had rulled Lureva since its creation and the Voroleti family had been on the throne for 447 years.

The people on the citizens seemed content, centuries of authoritarianism had drilled in them a disciplined nature and so they didnt mind the increases repression and even if they didint like it they kept these thoughts hidden. Any act against the king was an act against god and the only legal religion in Lureva was the Lurevan Orthadx church whicht he king controlled as well.

Princess Lisi sat in her bedroom chamber when her drunken father King Alessandro barged in.
"Why did you have to be born, because of you the crown might have to leave OUR family, the first time in 447 years, I dont have a successor because of YOU!"

Princess Lisi had been use to this kind of verbal abuse so she just stared out the window.
"Lisi there isnt any option unless you marry your cousin, he carries the Voroletti name least the crown will stay in the family name!"

Lisi was shocked by what she heard
"NO I CANT MARRY MY COUSIN! I"M NOT GOING TO!"
The King slapped her across the face
"You brought this on yourself!" he yelled then he stormed out of the bedroom chamber and slammed the door.

The black ZiV-111 (http://ned.ronet.ru/0/Zil111.jpg) limousine pulled up rather dramatically to the government's state security headquarters. Private vehicles were technically banned in the country, but this wasn't technically a private vehicle. By law, the ZiV-111s were only used by the highest ranks of Vetalian government...yet the Izmaylovska had acquired one somehow. It made it easy to travel through restricted areas, especially ones where the people weren't inclined to ask questions.

They simply parked and waited for the necessary personnel to step out. It would be a fitting meeting. In the back seat sat suitcases, suitcases stuffed with colorful Vetalian Solaris, hard currency that would go damn far in such a poor nation. Everyone had their price, and they were more than capable of paying it.

"Here goes nothing." Boris said with characteristic drollness. The others said nothing, only waited.

The head sercurity forces of the building plus body guards stepped out of the building and stood at the top of the steps. one man stood out especially. he was 6.4ft and was bald and clean shaven. like the others standing on the steps he was wearing a black suite with the royal emblem on the left corner of the chest.
the tall, bald man stepped downt he steps and up to the black limousine.

Should the situation allow, we will find a way to secure Lisi and her family and remove them from the country. Otherwise, we will provide protection to them from within Lureva."

One of the men stepped out of the limousine and approached the chief, but stayed far enough away to avoid appearing threatening.

"Greetings....you must be the security chief for the government, based upon your uniform. I am Boris Chazov, CEO of Petrovsk Gas and Electric, one of the local firms that provides service to the capitol. The men with me are members of our security staff, and we have some very interesting information to provide that could lead to capturing the men who outed such shameful slander against your king.

If you would, please get in to the car...it may not be safe to discuss this outside. We could also discuss this inside if you feel it would be safer, but even within the government there could be spies for the dissidents. This is a matter of national security."

4 Cazelian black hawk helicopters took off for the Lurevan Capital, the men inside were G.H.O.S.T operatives and I.C.I.S agents, their objective was to evacuate the queen and Princess and take the King into custody of the Imperial Democracy and give him trail for the abuse of his power and the savage beatings of his wife and daughter (it's illegal to beat children in Cazelia) and for murder.
