Official Communiqué

To all nations:

The People's Sovereign Republic of British Londinium will be hosting a formal, white tie dance at Kensington Palace on 11 November 2012*, starting at 1700 hours that evening. Representatives from all nations are invited to this ball. Dinner, for those who are concerned, will be served at 1900 hours. I hope that this formal will be an opportunity to improve relations between those in attendance, and, most importantly, to enjoy ourselves. Security will be handled by the Londinian Security Service and the Kensington Metropolitan Police. I would be most honoured if you chose to attend.

Sincerely,

Kensington Palace, 4:45 PM

At 16:45, two black ZiV-111 (http://ned.ronet.ru/0/Zil111.jpg) limousines with chrome trim approached Kensington Palace and entered the grounds at an elegant pace.

On the first car, Vetalian flags fluttered marking it as the Praetor's limousine and the second car as the Proconsul's. Both came to a stop before the entrance, and two personal staff exited the vehicles and opened the doors of each vehicle. The Praetor exited first, followed by the Proconsul. Both were elegantly attired in their tailored, well-fitted black opera cloaks and white-tie apparel, and they both wore their medals and sashes of state.

The Praetor wore his scarlet Order of the Revolution sash, while the Proconsul had three medals, one with a grey, black, and white striped ribbon and another two with blue ribbons.

Consul Sir Alistair Davidson dignifiedly stood outside the entrance, clad in traditional white-tie clothing, with a Londinian Republic medal pinned to his lapel and a deep purple sash draped over his right shoulder. Flanking him was President Alexandre Lassiter, Deputy Consul James Azzopardi, and Sir Alistair's wife, Victoria Davidson.

"I'm honoured that you could make it," Sir Alistair said to the Vetalian men exiting their vehicle. "I trust you are doing well?" To the Calizorinstani president, John Arnold, the Consul said, "Mr Arnold - pleasure to see you here again."

At 17:09 the Grand Arbiter of the Far Echo Islands, Lee Robert Jackson, arrived via Helicopter, a sleek black craft, on the door was the seal of the Confederacy of the Far Echo Islands. The Grand Arbiter wore a black tuxedo and the woman at his side wore a diamond covered white dress. While the Grand Arbiter and his Wife to be, Jennie O'Connor, stepped out the side facing the palace, unannounced to the others, the greatest Spec ops team in CEFI, the 113th amphibious, silently strode out the other side, five were clad in black, Kevlar reinforced wet suits with night/thermal vision goggles atop their head. MP7A1 submachine guns were strapped to their back, with silencers attached to their barrels. Prototype Tyrone 10mm silenced pistols hung at their sides. They instantly fell into the shadows.

The 113th was the Grand Arbiters real protection, two veteran sergeants of the CEFI Revolution strode beside him, as security guards, numerous medals adorned their uniforms

"That's unfortunate to hear...cyclones can be truly devastating if they hit in the wrong place at the wrong time. We get them occasionally along the coast, but nothing too serious thanks to the prevailing currents which tend to push them further north. I do hope everything is all right now...we've seen the effects of disasters more than enough times to know their effects. In fact, the Proconsul grew up in the so-called 'Flood Belt' where we get the majority of our worst floods."

Kosyachenko continued from where the Praetor left off. "Yes, my hometown of Petrovsk used to suffer terrible flooding until they completed the Merova-Voldau canal project back in '72. It's hard to believe it's been over four decades since then...my father was a civil engineer for the project, actually."

Our economy is growing phenomenally, approval ratings have never been higher, the weather's absolutely amazing, and, above all, this year's rum is astoundingly delicious." Lassiter laughed. Outside of the palace, two more black ZiV-111 limousines pulled up to the palace and out stepped six Vetalian army personnel, all wearing standard military dress. All of them were officers and marched in two columns of three in to the palace, showing their credentials at the door to gain entry. The sounds of their footsteps were audible in the building, and they entered the party heading straight to the Proconsul and Praetor.

They whispered quietly and then the Praetor turned and spoke, "We are terribly sorry but there is a serious matter in Vetalia that we must attend to. We thank the British Londinium government for their generosity in hosting such a fine affair, and hope to return again soon." They moved quickly out of the palace and in to their limousines for return to Vetalia.

Mrs. Parkins rarely got to relax and drink alcohol, especially due to the fact that drink was severely restricted and monitored in Honakon. It was all her fault for that though. She looked down at her feet and the waiter took it as a chance to slip away. "Am I dancing?" Mrs. Bourla Parkins had a puzzled look on her face when she said "Why, but I am sitting down."

She turned her head and looked around the room with a confused expression. She could tell all of these delegates were from small time Hegemony or former Hegemony nations - she'd never liked that group, Hegemony implied they were dominators, that they saw themselves as better than others, and they certainly were not, at least back when they were disbanded with such ease. They all seemed to know each other well, some even carried what looked like alliance charters upon there person. "How strange these people are" Parkins thought.

She turned back to wherever the male voice was coming from, smiling for once, and said "And who would you be..."

Anyways, after I learned to speak it, the rest of the country latched on, and it's becoming quite popular. "Julius Leanworth Hodz, at your service."

"Nice to meet you, what country are you from?"
British Londinium

My husband and I, thought the Londinian Consul, struggling to resist the urge to correct. "Ah, that. Well, I'm afraid that might be difficult to arrange for. You see, after the Democide, anti-royal sentiment is amazingly prolific. It seems that your country symbolizes bourgeois oppression to the Londinian people. I'm afraid it would be a dangerous risk."

"Well if it's that huge a risk then maybe you and Mrs.Davidson can join me at Buckingham Palace with Prime Minister Howard and Mrs.Howard. I have heard that my country is a risk to people but it's not true. Do you know Prime Minister Mary McAleese and Prime Minister Harper".

"I'm afraid that is also, regretfully, impossible," the Consul said in his best approximation of wistfulness. "Various affairs of state. And, no, I can't say I'm familiar with those two individuals."

Lord Sumguy suddenly remembered something. "I'm afraid I will have to excuse myself from the pleasure of your company for a moment, i have a very important favor to ask of someone." He walked over to John Arnold. "Mr. Arnold, could you give a message to your father for me?"

John smiled and said "I will, just do me a favor, tell Hetaera Bellidini that a Mr.John Arnold wants to see her?"

"Well both were Labour Prime Ministers and brought the United Kingdom a bad name. Do you wonder why our both nations can't have a good relationship. it was because of them that caused it, ruining the nation and our foreign affairs, causing debt to the country and the commonwealth. But after another set of elections Mrs. McAleese and Labour were voted out and the Liberals took power with Prime Minister Howard." Queen Hannah took a drink of wate and sat down to rest herselve.

"Oh," said Sir Alistair. "I thought it was the fact that British Londinium and the United Kingdom never really interfaced in a significant relationship and that your nation embodies all sorts of anti-proletariat beliefs. But that makes sense too."

:sniper:

Ian Flamable was considered devilishly handsome. However, he had been described in these terms, so many times, that his old English teacher had finally had enough and had written from Fetish College to warn him that, if he didn't change his style, he was in danger of becoming "two-dimensional" and "cliched".

Only three weeks earlier, Flamable had been appointed Second Secretary (Espionage and Extra-Marital Affairs) at the Gibberish Embassy. The diplomatic reception was the first event, which he'd attended in his new capacity.

He was looking tanned, fit and relaxed, having returned from a three-week-long scuba-diving, assassination and gambling holiday in Florida, the Bahamas, Switerland, Venice and the Czech Republic. He always had trouble deciding where to go. "Damn", he thought to himself, "I musht learn to be more deshyshive, when it comes to chooge-ing a deshtinayshun. I've uz-sht nearly all my air mylsh and it's not even Augesht, yet."

He was still day dreaming about the the adventures he'd had, as he descended the staircase. It would be so much easier, if, every time he attended one of these gatherings, he didn't have to fire a grappling iron on to the roof and climb up a rope, into a second-floor window, but even Flamable had to obey the rules. How else could he get to the top of the stairs and make his grand entrance?

Someone was watching him and he began to sense it. His eyes lifted slowly, scanning the figure from the patent leather Doc Martens up, past the knobbly knees to the undulating folds of the sequined kevlar above. He'd know that bullet-proof cocktail dress anywhere. It was the famous double vodka- sorry- agent, Onya Bahyke.

"A little behind, Ian, darling?"

"Why, thank you very much, Onya. You always manage to get to the bottom of things, very quickly."

"I meant that you're running late.", she said impatiently, her eyes narrowing to indicate her outward displeasure, while letting him know that, secretly, she found him quite amusing.

He knew he would be in the country for a short time and that tonight might be his only opportunity to find where the Ferrero Rocher were hidden. Therefore he had to act. Well, there's a first time for everything, isn't there?

Head Commissar of the Zintharian Worker's Party Oleg Romanovsky strode into the room, glancing about and occasionally introducing himself to some minor official.

As he glanced around, he adjusted the Red Beret bearing the Hammer and Sickle that was reserved for members of the Zintharian Worker's Party. He always felt proud to wear it in public, even if he was in nations that hated the organization.

Glancing around again, he noticed no one he knew, and so stood around waiting to see if anyone would engage him in conversation.

"Greetings, I am Lord Sumguy, founder and elected emperor of the Holy Empire of Lord Sumguy, and prince of the United Kingdom (United Kingdom2). Before you forge an opinion of me based upon those titles, know that i am of no noble blood, and hold one because i wa elected, and the other because i married a queen. "Consul, I was reading the LBG website the other day, and I noticed that you're having some trouble with your breadbasket colony. I have a proposal: perhaps you could give them some limited autonomy. Allow them to govern themselves somewhat, give them representation in Parliament, that sort of thing. I think it might work."
British Londinium
31-07-2007, 03:07
"Oh, the LBG loves to write those kinds of reports," the Consul said absentmindedly. "The area is not too much of a problem any more, really. My predecessor, Sinclair, regardless of all his blunders, had, at the very least, the brains to restore partial home rule to Britzkium, and most people there are content with that. It's the fundamentalists that won't stop - they won't be happy until they're able to raze Kensington. But I do appreciate the suggestion, and I'm sure that the LBG chairman would be delighted to know that his group's read by such a prominent foreign leader."
Central Prestonia
31-07-2007, 03:13
"Well, that's they way it goes with fundamentalists, but after awhile of being ignored or cracked down on they'll shut up and go underground. I've been thinking of expanding the Prestonian sphere of influence myself, but I don't know that UFAN would approve. I don't really want to be the aggressor either."

Whittaker's ears perked up at the mention of fighter planes, and moved to insert himself into the conversation, the wooden cane tapping on the floor.

"I'm sorry, I couldn't help overhearing, Major Hasley. Arthur Whittaker, Hamilay. If you may permit me to say so, I'm impressed. Not bad at all. Certainly much better than I ever did. I used to be in the Hamilayan Air Force, when I was younger and more foolish," he laughed, "so these matters interest me. What aircraft do you fly?"
