FROM THE INTERNAL AFFAIRS BUREAU

TO ALL FOREIGN NATIONS

The United Socialist States of Zintharia, in order to embrace its new political ideology of Democratic Socialism, is planning to have elections to determine the next Marshal of the USSZ. We are interested in other nations' opinions of the candidates, so we ask that you place a 'vote' for the candidate that you would support. Here is a breakdown of the candidates:

Current Marshal of the USSZ-Grand Commissar Justin D. Cole
Military man who came to power after the Zintharian Revolution. He's led the nation through the early days of dictatorship and embraced Democratic Socialism. His policies are mostly concerned with Social Welfare, Healthcare, and Law and Order. Not known to be incredibly sociable to those from Capitalist nations. He is one of the candidates who is backed by the Zintharian Worker's Party.

Current Head Commandant of Foreign Affairs-Major Mikhail Lonieda
Given the honorary title of Major in the People's Army of Zintharia, Lonieda has recently been dedicated to the opening of embassies in other nations and opening up diplomatic connections with other nations. Served as UN delegate before being promoted to HCFAB. He says that he'll "Improve diplomacy between ALL nations of the world as opposed to only Socialist nations and continue the work of GCOMM Cole."

Current Head Commandant of Spetsnaz Airborne Divisions-Senior Lieutenant Peter Stalin Brezhnev-Rikkard
SRLT Brezhnev-Rikkard served as a guerrilla in the Zintharian Revolution as a child, injured twice. Went on to serve in the PAZ and eventually formed the Spetsnaz Airborne. He says that, if elected, that he'll "Send Zintharian Forces to aid in all Communist revolutions in the world, aiding Socialism in general." He's been called and isolationist by opponents. Supported by most of the SA.

Leader of the Zintharian Worker's Party-Oleg Romanovsky
Only candidate with no military title. Says that if elected, he'll continue GCOMM Cole's plan, but to a greater extent. Supported by most of the ZWP

From the USSZ Constitution:

Recognizing the need for freedom of speech in order for the opinions of all workers to be shared, the USSZ hereby allows the formation of any political organization or group, given that it
1.allows any USSZ citizen to join
2. Does not embrace sexist, racist, or homophobic ideals, or any other sort of ideology that demotes or devalues any group or nationality.
3.Has more than ten members, one leader, and a second in command.

The Rights of Political Organizations
Any recognized Political Party is guaranteed the following rights.

1.Freedom for members to run in any election to any public office
2.Guarantee that all members will not be imprisoned or exiled, so long as their beliefs do not violate item no. 2 of the above.
3.Right to gather peacefully and in accordance with public law, so long as it does not riot or incite rioting.
4.Freedom to embrace any political ideology, as long as it is approved of by item no. 2 of the above.

From the electoral process section of the USSZ Constitution:

Let it be known that ANY citizen of the USSZ is permitted to run for office in any election so long as:

1.They have not served time in prisons
2.Do not embrace, racist, sexist, or homophobic ideals as part of their ideology
3.Are a validated member of any validated and legal political party within the USSZ

In the voting process, any citizen of any party can apply to run for any office. Then there's a preliminary vote to narrow down the candidates to 4 candidates. Typically, the parties with the most members get their candidates in the top four, and seeing as Socialist parties are the largest parties in the USSZ, their candidates almost always make up the top four.

So yes, while there is a Republican party of Zintharia, a Conservative Party, and a Green Party, they only make up a small percentage, so their candidates don't often make the top four.
