At 1:30 P.M., an assassination attempt was made upon on upon the Holy Tartar Emperor, Sibeoci Sereri. Many suspect they were in response to the brutal laws that the National Assembly had recently penned and passed. Though the Emperor did not actually sign those laws, he became a symbol of hate among the Asian majority for the stifling discrimination that quickly ensued. The actual assassin was captured at the scene of the crime after a long firefight that left 57 members of the Imperial Guard dead or wounded along with 273 members dead of the People's War Group, but did not survive as he was reported to have been "shot while escaping", a statement that has come under great scrutiny from the international community.

The assassination attempt was not a success. The People's War Group is a liberation movement/terrorist group (depending on who you ask) with slight socialist leanings that have been active in Tartarystan. It is one of many of these movements that have popped up in Tartarystan. Most of these movements are seperated on linguistical or racial lines, but are generally cordial toward each other. The military has been skirmishing with these groups for a great deal of time. The 274 man team attempted to infiltrate the Imperial Palace to assassinate the Emperor, but their plan failed when they were spotted by members of the Imperial Guard.

In an emergency session, the National Assembly voted on an issue. The National Assembly voted 834 - 74 - 92 to order the military to reform launch "reprisal" strikes against several cities the People's War Group drew their membership and support from. This bill was surprisingly vetoed by the Emperor, but the veto was overridden given the overwhelming consensus. Tartarystan drew condemnation from human rights organizations when the Imperial Tartar Army (ITA) attacked the cities of Mohenjo, Daro, Hoysola, Maurya, Madho, and Bahadur with chemical weapons. These six cities were fairly similar in most ways. They were all mostly Indo-Aryan speaking, had no Altaic citizens, and were mostly ghettoes. According to local sources, the Imperial Tartar Army assaulted these cities with VX gas, mustard gas, hydrogen cyanide, sarin, soman, among with many other chemical weapons. ITA forces immediately followed it up with artillery strikes, as well as napalm launches that burned all six cities. Most survivors were shot trying to escape though a few escaped after hiding in the wreckage and were lucky enough not to get torched. The effects of this action, only a week before the Thirteenth Census, will likely show up on that same census due to the devastating loss the Indo-Aryan population took.

According to the government of Tartarystan, urban planners have moved to the burnt ashes of these cities are rebuilding "new" cities for the burgeoning Altaic population. Tartarystan is following an extremely strict plan of urban planning, completely building every new Altaic city from scratch or rebuilding every Altaic city from scratch (not difficult considering there were only three that needed to be replanned) under the new living space policy. Tartar officials have expressedly denied that it was a form of genocide and ethnocide and termed it a counter terrorist operation.. Though the activity of People's War Group dropped obscenely, the activity of many other groups have risen to more than compensate this. Talk of a large revolution has spread throughout circles. However, distrust between many different disgruntled nationalities may break it down.

Human rights organizations in and outside of Tartarystan have been calling for an international condemnation of Tartarystan, but so far, no such condemnation has arrived.

Recently, the United Front between Indo-Aryan, Dravidian, Japanese, Korean, and Sino-Tibetan liberation fronts against the Turkic-Tungusic Imperial government collapsed into total war. Dravidian forces unleashed their pent-up ethnic rage after massacring twenty thousand Indo-Aryan civilians in the town of Nilgiri. This was returned with a brutal massacre of twelve thousand Dravidian citizens in the town of Bolombo. Japanese and Korean racial tension exploded in the multi-ethnic city of Liando when tens of thousands of Japanese and Koreans took to arms and commenced slaughtering each other indiscriminately by the tens of thousands. The countryside is complete anarchy as hordes of uncoordinated militias, death squads, guerillas, and partisans murder each other and tens of thousands of civilians.

The Imperial Tartar Army withdrew and fortified the cities of Tataria Magna, Sanjiazi, and Altaysky, the three capitals of Tartarystan, content to rest as nationalist liberation forces massacre each other in the countryside. The Sino-Tibetan anarchist "People's Will" completely ignored the sectarian violence and launched massive and horrendously bloody successive human wave attacks on the heavily fortified city of Sanjiazi.

Foreign troops can look forward to arriving in a land being torn apart by murder, massacres, revolutions, and complete anarchy. The population of Tartarystan is literally collapsing like a rock as supremacist armies massacre each other.

The Most Serene and Holy Tartar Empire would be highly willing to accept Kiravian assistance in cleansing the countryside of rebels and other undesirables once they have stopped massacring each other. For now, a terrorist group called the People's Will has amassed a huge army that it is throwing at our cities unsuccessfully. To survive, we first must utterly destroy their army. They have no air or armoured support, so this shouldn't be impossible. Each of our three major towns are defended by 40,000 troops along with significant armoured and adequate air support, so we are currently holding out...but this may not last forever.

We would also be highly accepting of assistance from New Nicksyllvania. 15,000 volunteers would be extremely useful in our quest for victory and survival.

Assistance from NeoVirginia would be highly welcome. The CNV 1st Army Group could be extraordinarily helpful in our struggle to survive against the communists hordes assaulting our cities.

We, first must ensure the safety of our cities, where all of our citizens require, and after the terrorists are done killing each other, we can march in and take back the countryside!

The People's War Group needs assistance. The Dravidian scum are assaulting and murdering innocents everywhere. Zintharian forces will be needed in order for us to wipe out every last Dravidian. Hundreds of thousand of refugees (Dravidian, Indo-Aryan, Sino-Tibetan, Japanese, and Korean) have all fled Tartarystan by the hundreds of thousands, perhaps even more than a million. Fleeing death and destruction in their homeland, in response to the growing death toll and complete collapse of government in the countryside, and frightened by the ethnic cleansing and flat-out genocide practice by ethnic nationalist military groups and other militia units upon each other, a minority of the population has seen it fit to flee the land. Though the amount of refugees is massive, it pales in comparison to the numbers of civilians projected to have been massacred in one of the bloodiest collapse of government in history. National liberation movements have proven to be just as brutal, or even more brutal than the hated Imperial government. People say the Imperial government was at least efficient in its mass murder. The Imperial Government still controls the relatively peaceful cities. Hundreds of thousands of refugees have already died on the seas desperately fleeing to anywhere they can find. Refugees attempted to flee to the Turkic and Tungusic cities have been executed as "spies". These refugees are fleeing to every nation they can find to hope to find refuge from the horrible bloodshed in their homeland.

More important than military aid, we need FOOD. With our control of the countryside temporarily blocked, our cities cannot depend on them for food. If any country could fly in food and drop it on our cities, it would be excellent.

Dravidian forces recently fought with Indo-Aryan forces. Korean and Japanese minorities immediately commenced massacring each other in their multi-ethnic and bilingual section of the country. Sino-Tibetan forces carefully exterminated the small minorities in their segment of the country and defended it ruthlessly. The brutality of the Second Phase of the War was unmatched by anything in Imperial history. In the end, Indo-Aryan forces prevailed against Dravidian and forced the surviving Dravidians to join them. However, both Indo-Aryan and Dravidian military forces had taken a million losses each, reducing the combined army to barely above 1.5 million fighting men. Korean and Japanese forces completely decimated each other with their fighting. Sinic forces quickly dropped upon both forces and utterly crushed both, forcing the reminder of both to join them. Sinic forces controlled about 1.8 million enemy forces as they entered the next stage of the war. The Imperials are holding up in their cities with 720,000 men and women.

Much to the horror of the Imperial government, Sino-Tibetan and Indo-Aryan forces recently signed an alliance treaty officially announcing the revival of the United Front. Hundreds of thousands of more men and women flocked to join the New United Front in their preparation for their final offensive against the Imperial government in Tataria Magna. Almost 4.32 million men and women are congregrating in preparation for the final assault on the Imperial stronghold of Tataria Magna. The Imperial government desperately flooded international airways in frantic calls for aid. With barely over 720,000 men and women defending Tataria Magna, the Imperial position seems grave indeed. The non-Altaic peoples of Tartarystan have already started celebrating.

The Imperial 75th and 37th Legions have been dispatched to Tartarystan, and have been underway for 36 hours.
They shall arrive, carried by the 28th Imperial Fleet, in 12 hours at the time of this message. THe Legions have been ordered to secure Turkic/Tungusic and (peaceful) Indo-Aryan cities. A detachment of the 75th legion has been ordered to assist Imperial forces at Tataria Magna.

The Imperial Immigration Department, Refugee Office, has announced that Indo-Aryan refugees will be accepted openly. This gesture is not meant as an offence to the Altaic race, nor your Empire. It is merely due to the fact that our language, Coscivian, is based on Indo-European languages, just as the Aryan's languages are.

Also, our army has brought large amounts of surplus food picked up from our nearby farming colony, Khakia. It's not enough to support a city through a seige for long ,though. What is the population of Tataria Magna?, as we need this information to plan airdrops.

As the first wave of revolutionaries smashed into the boundaries of Tataria, all hell exploded. Mustafa Bashkan could hear the screams and explosions from a mile away. He smiled. This was his home. The hell he was letting...those...enemies in.

He correctly assumed it were the first waves hitting the minefields. It would not be long before they reached the first defensive line, a series of bunkers. Men surged forward as machine guns, mortars, and artillery cut them down. Mortars tore huge gaping ranks in the embattled men attempting to advance. Bashkan was taking as many of them down as he could. Bam. Bam. Bam. Bam. A faceless enemy soldier down with every blast of his rifle. The two machine guns in the bunkers with him tore down everyone who attempted to stick their head up. Bashkan almost lost his balance when the bunker next to theirs exploded in a huge torrent of fire.

"Shit, we need more fire. Where the hell are the tanks!?!"

He heard a sound against the door.

"Damnit, they're coming through the doors, get ready!"

The door exploded with a bang. Bashkan tossed half a dozen grenades through the door at the same time. They all flew somewhere different outside of the door and exploded violently. The series of explosions were punctuated with screams.

Bashkan ran outside and sprayed blindly in a direction. It luckily worked and dropped the last surviving enemy soldier.

"We've gotta get to the next line, try to contact HQ with your radio!"

Bashkan swiveled his rifle and sent a few bullets flying at two soldiers, dropping them. He immediately started running with the three to safety, stopping every few seconds to pop the closest soldier behind him down.

The machine gunner was screaming violently into his radio as they ran. The second machine gunner screamed as a stray bullet smashed him in the head. He dropped to the floor and crumpled. This didn't stop the radioman and Bashkan. They scrambled up toward the next defensive line as the enemy burgeoned forward.

We are in the final stages of preparing to ship additional armaments to your forces to assist in fighting off the oppressive imperialistic forces. We will be sending 800,000 R-5 semi-automatic battle rifles along with a signifigant ammount of 7.5x60mm ammunition for their use. Additionally we will send a further 300,000 MR-10 10mm submachine guns and substantial ammunition for them as well. Grenades, and a number of disposable LAW style rocket launchers are also on the way.

As well a Brigade of airborne troops is currently in the final stages of preparation, if you can continue and expand a peaceful cooexistance between the numerous ethinc groups fighting the oppressors, we will be willing to deploy them to assist you.

A e-paper airplane lazily glided through the rows of greyish cubicles lining the halls of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, past the dozens of Londinian government employees diligently scanning communiqués sent in from throughout the world or typing up reports for senior officials, and eventually came to rest on a wooden writing desk next to a brass rectangle on which the words "Matthew Tjader - B. Asian Affairs Director" were inscribed. Matthew picked up the folded sheet of electronic paper, smiling bemusedly. He got up from his chair and stiffly walked to the airplane's cubicle of origin.

"Carl, what is this?" Matt said to the man occupying the cubicle as he held the piece of e-paper. "You're paid to monitor OSINT for the BAA - not to be an aerospace engineer. Though you'd be quite good at it - the wing design here is most fantastic..."

"Oi, Mr Tjader," laughed Carl. "Did you bother reading that? That's my summary of that revolt in Tartyarstan."

"Your summary? You mean, the brief from LBG Monitoring," countered Matt.

"You say tamato, I say tomato," riposted Carl. "A summary is a summary is a summary."

"Next time get this to me faster," said Matt, attempting to feign anger. "This is something that needs to go to the Consular offices quickly. I ought to dispatch this to the Aedifices immediately."

Within an hour, copies of that same electronic paper sheet had circulated to nearly every single important, high-ranking government official. That same sheet of paper sat beneath Consul Sir Alistair Davidson's afternoon cup of Earl Grey tea as he addressed his assembled cabinet.

"The Tartarystani situation cannot allow to deteriorate any further," the Consul said with characteristic austerity. "It poses a serious threat to international security, and thus must be stopped forthwith."

"I concur, sir," Elliot Crompton, Minister of War, replied. "The 22nd Division still remains on full alert - we can have twenty thousand peacekeepers in Tartarystan within forty-eight hours, if need be."

"Excellent," mused Sir Alistair as he swiveled his chair to face his Minister of Intelligence, Ginevra Vauxhall. "Ginevra, I'd like your appraisal of the situation before we dismiss this afternoon."

Ginevra smiled sheepishly, which only endeared her more to Sir Alistair. Beautiful, striking, intelligent, and calculating, Ginevra was the Consul's favourite government official, and probably one of his closest friends. "Well, Consul, it seems like a win-win to me. Our troops gain valuable experience, and it's a propaganda coup for British Londinium - the role of international policeman can't hurt our chances for admission into UFAN."

"Good, good," replied Sir Alistair. "Then we proceed as planned."

A sea of blue-helmeted soldiers, all members of the 22nd Peacekeeping and Stabilization Division, flowed rigidly and steadily through the streets of Tataria Magna, their faces unforgiving and hard. The overwhelming tide yielded to smaller streams of Londinian soldiers, gliding through the Tartarystani capital's alleys, throughfares, side streets, etc. Relief centres were quickly erected, distributing food, drinking water, and medicines. Meanwhile, other soldiers began to reinforce the capital's defences, either by taking up positions at the defensive lines or by giving ammunition and weaponry to the ragged Imperial soldiers.

"GAS MASKS!!!"

Imperial soldiers frantically dug gas masks out of their pouches and snapped it on. The Allied forces swarmed up the hill and bunkers through artillery, mortar, and machine gun fire as swarms fell.

The ground shoot as four Tu-160 White Swans flew over the hill dropping not bombs, but canisters of gas. Gas filled the entire battlefield as machine gun fire temporarily stopped due to lack of visibility.

It worked. When the gas lifted, there were massive piles of dead bodies all over the hill. The nerve gas was brutally effective. Regardless, it did not stop more troops from scrambling over the dead bodies of their compatriots and continuing to charge up the hill. The White Swans made eleven more passes like this until it appeared they were out of ammo. Bunkers were exploding left and right as Allied troops blew it apart. Strange troops from another country suddenly appeared and charged. In ten minutes, the assault was deflected as the bunkers opened up again on the waves charging up.

After twelve more hours of brutal combat, Imperial defences were cracking. Even with Kiravian assistance, Imperial defence was cracking at its seams as Allied forces seeped through them.

The carnage on the hill was incredible and unimaginable. It was literally a sea of bodies. Chemical weapons, mortar fire, machine gun fire, and artillery strikes had torn apart a charging army that would NOT give up. The Allied forces continued to scramble up, using the dead bodies of the soldiers that went before as cover.

Imperial forces were in retreat. The opposing forces took obscene losses, but they had routed the Imperials. The Imperials were driven up to their last defensive line. They readied their weapons, ready to fight the death. Their last defensive line was criss-crossed with trenches, dotted with bunkers, and full of hidden machine gun nests. Towers marked sniper posts.

The Allied troops screamed as they streamed toward the last defence of the hated Imperial government. Nerve gas poured in again, cutting down even more Allied troops. The cacophony of screams and explosions was unending. Reinforcements were to come in eight hours, but...were there any troops left...?

Eight hours later, the trenches were mostly collapsed, sniper posts had fallen down, and huge numbers of Allied troops lay dead on the field. The weary Imperial troops were close to completely collapsing as morale was never lower. Only a quick detachment of blue-helmeted soldiers kept the imperial defence from collapsing, and even they to, were taking losses.

The ground rumbled and heralded the arrival of the rest of the Imperial Tartar Army. A mechanized and armoured wave of metal literally smashed into the Allied human waves from the flank. The result was devastating. For the first time, they were running. The tanks relentlessly pursued them, firing at them. The soldiers screamed in joy and charged with the tanks. The United Front was being driven out as the tanks charged on. Everywhere in the nation, Allied command had fallen apart. For the first time, the Imperials were on the offensive.

By order of his excellency, the Praetor of Vetalia Alexei Melnikov, the Vetalian Armed Forces will begin immediate deployment to Tartarystan in support of the People's War Group in their struggle against the Imperial forces. Enlisted in this deployment are the 3rd and 7th Vetalian Expeditionary Forces, 5 wings of the Strategic Air Command, and forces from the 16th and 17th SEACOM naval units.

All movement of people and supplies, with the exception of British Londinium peacekeepers in and out of these regions will require the authorization of the Vetalian army or the appropriate leadership in the PWG. Our forces have the full authority to use whatever necessary force to defend the sovereignty of the PWG and to negotiate a fair settlement to resolve the conflict.

30,000 Kiravians march over the steppe towards Tartaria Magna.

General Greyford addresses his officers, "Our battle plan is to attack the PWG troops laying siege to the Capital from one angle, and from the rear. We will strike where the fighting has been the hardest, and thus easily take positions while giving the Tartars and Tunguskans time to regroup. Commander Greenisle, you'll take the Ieurlin 12th and 14th regiments and take the left. Major Wrighton, you're to take the 15th, 11th, and 16th to the center of the wedge. the 2nd auxilliary will seal the right flank. We'll also have artillery support backing the front of the attack before we reach lines. Clear?"

As the Kiravian soldiers marched to take out the PWG forces, one man yelled and pointed to the east. The entire 6th and 7th Divisions of the People's Armor and Artillery Corps of Zintharia, numbering 10,000 men and and 2,000 T-90 Main Battle Tanks, came rolling over the steppe, firing their cannons as they charged full on at the Kiravians.

In the early half of the battle, the PAACZ took out a lot of enemy artillery, at the loss of 43 tanks. However, they are being held up by infantry. SRLT Rikkard approached the telegraph in his HQ tent to send a message.

The PAACZ has just encountered the Kiravian forces. We don't know how many of them there are, but there are too many for our forces to take on alone. We've sent the 6th and 7th Divisions to hold them up. Preliminary reports say we've destroyed some of their artillery, but we can only hold them so long. From their position in relation to your forces, I can infer that they are going to flank your forces from the rear. We only happened upon them because we were coming to your aid and just encountered them.

Our forces will fight to the last round.

Tanks from the rightmost corner of the center attack wedge return fire at the oncoming Zintharians. Major Wrighton surveys his forces. THey appeared to outnumber, and, for now, outgun the enemy, but the loss of artillery was a major blow to the battle plan.

Tatarystan Border, PWG territory

The silence of early evening was broken by the sound of UAVs flying over the terrain, surveying it to determine the optimal path of advance for the VEF. They passed over it languidly, not concerned at enemy fire in this friendly region. In fact, they were simply surveying local infrastructure to determine the best site for military headquarters of the 7th Vetalian Expeditionary Force, the group assigned to aid the PWG against its enemies.

Upon determining that the present course was optimal for linking up with the PWG and their allies, Colonel General Rochev gave the order to cross the border. At 22:00 TST, the 7th VEF crossed the border of Tatarystan with orders to counterattack the Kiravians and their Imperial Allies and aid the PWG in sacking Tartaria Magna.

In addition, air support consisting of 10 fighter squadrons and 3 bomber wings were being readied back in Vetalia if needed, and the 3rd Expeditionary Force was on reserve for immediate deployment to Tatarystan. Both of these forces could be at the front within one week.

The 7th VEF began setting up its command at a small village about 20 miles from Tataria Magna. They sent communiques to the Zintharian and PWG forces detailing their planned attack in two days, and advised them to hold their ground to the best of their ability. If necessary, they could fall back to a more defensible position while the Vetalian army moved in to lead the assault. Supplies were on the way to the PWG, including arms, ammunition, rations, uniforms and medical supplies.

The war had just gotten a great deal hotter.

As the Armor Corps. hassles the enemy, Sergeant Major Holtz prepared his howitzer crew to fire, barking orders as the artillerymen rushed about, preparing their individual cannons for a barrage of fire.

"Medium range fuse, High Explosive shell. Ready on the line?"

The resounding yells of 'ready Comrade' resounded down the line of 20 D-30 howitzers from 20 cannon crewleaders.

"FIRE!"

Those who weren't covering their ears were nearly deafened as the 20 cannons roared, propelling their deadly shells towards the remnants of the enemy artillery.

"Looks like we've got ourselves an arty duel Comrades!" SGTMAJ Holtz bellowed in glee as the crewmembers reloaded their howitzers in 15 seconds.

"FIRE!"

This time, the concussion from the barrage blew the canvas off of the top of the firing control center.

"One More time boys!"

Once again, the crewmembers did their job, and 20 more shells were propelled towards the enemy artillery. Having sent 60 shells screaming and raining hellfire upon the Kiravians, Holtz gave them the order to relax and await the next firing mission.

"I guess that their embassy status has been revoked for the time being, eh Comrades?"

Roaring laughter erupted from the crewmen, who now sat sprawled in the heat around their howitzers, just waiting for the next firing mission.

In the Kiravian command post:

"Greenisle's detacthment's broken through the PWG line. If we can divert the 15th and 11th to back them up, we'd be able to clear the way for Tartarian infantry."

A soldier enters in haste, slauting, he says, "Sir, the Aux unit's down. Officer Southland's badly injured. He said that Major Wrighton needs to get the 16th out before the enemy gets any closer."

An officer speaks, "With the Aux gone, and the artillery down, the 16th's the only thing standing between our point of entry and the Zintharians!"

"Order Greenisle to move East, and cut throught the PWG forces, we'll go that way. Have Wrighton send the 11th into the city to help the Tartars, and send the 15th with Greenisle. The 16th are to cover the retreat. Clear?" , orders Greyford.

Major Wrighton stand with his troops in the battlefield, yelling orders left and right. " Heavy infantry, to the front!" he commands, as his hardiest footmen move forward, guarded by tanks. "Give em' hell!" The men and tanks fire in unison, the advancing Zintharians fall. "Keep at it! Machine guns, fire!" Hordes of metal flay at his opponent.

At the Left of the Kiravian assault, Commander Greenisle fights alongside his troops, shooting their way through the PWG's improvised fortifications. Rebels fall in front of his unit, moving ever forward. "Sir,!" a soldier calls, " We'll have broken the line in 50 yards.!" With a sigh of near relief, he says, "Signal Command. Tell them we've gotten throught the Left PWG. THe others have to move now!

As general greyford and his staff clear their command post, one aide asks, "Sir, what do we do now?"

He answers bluntly, "Wait. We'll need to get to a defencible position, regroup, and hope that the Urceans or Londinians come to our aid. With them, we can resume the attack."

In the wake of foreign intervention, the United Front once again split apart. Anti-communist Indo-Aryan groups hostile to the Maoist and Stalinist platform of the People's War Group have split from the People's War Group and sided with the Kiravian Empire with the intent of leaving Tartarystan and emigrating en masse to the Kiravian Empire after the conflict. 2/3rds of Indo-Aryan forces defected to the Kiravian Empire along with hordes of refuggees. Most of the Indo-Aryan peasants have opted for fleeing to Kirav severely draining the support of the People's War Group.

The People's Will, predominantly Sino-Tibetan, the other major group in the United Front, has been highly offended that foreign interventionists only deal with the People's War Group rather than the entire United Front. In a reaction, the People's Will ambushed leadership elements of the already extremely weakened People's War Group and crushed it. The remnants of the People's War Group became integrated into the People's Will. Losses in the various assaults against Tataria Magna have added up, especially due to liberal Imperial usage of chemical weapons. In fact, anti-imperialists forces have lost more than 70% of their strength and enjoy slightly less than a 2-1 numerical advantage against Imperial forces rather than the 6-1 before the escalation of combat. Without air, armoured, and a huge vulnerability to chemical weapons, this numerical advantage is dropping at a huge rate.

Due to timely Kiravian intervention, Indo-Aryan elements of the United Front are falling apart. In realization that defeat will NOT mean extermination if they side with Kirav, Indo-Aryan guerillas have been surrendering en masse to Kiravian forces. Millions of Indic soldiers and civilians have turned themselves toward Kiravian forces.

Weakened, but still active, Sino-Tibetan forces under the People's Will continue to combat Imperial and Imperial-allied forces with the hope that the foreign supporters of the People's War Group would support them also. However, the People's War Group has drawn infamy as an Anarchist group brutally incapable of administering their territories.

VEF Front, Tatarystan

The news of the brutal destruction of the PWG leadership was not welcome, but hardly a setback due to the sheer number of Vetalian forces deployed in the region. The plan was to wipe out the Imperials and their allies and allow the People's Will to take official hold of the city. Of course, the real power would lie with the Vetalian and Zintharian forces who would work to shape the new government in an image suitable to their needs.

The assault on Tartaria Magna began at 0600 hours TST. First, the batteries of mobile AS-90 artillery deployed roughly 10 miles from the city of Tataria Magna to begin bombardment of the city and the forces entrenched around it. A total of 350 artillery pieces unloaded their shells on the city while 50,000 ground troops and the two armored divisions moved slowly towards the city.

Every 15 minutes, another salvo of 350 shells rained down on the beleaguered defenders while the ground forces moved closer and closer. As a precaution, the Vetalian troops carried their chemical weapon protection equipment in addition to their normal combat gear. With their advance, a cable was sent to the Imperial and Kiravian forces:


VEF Command

By Order of the Praetor of Vetalia and his field commander Col. General Rochev all hostile forces in the city of Tataria Magna and its environs are hereby ordered to surrender themselves and the occupied city to the Vetalian, Zintharian, and rebel forces. If this order is complied with, we guarantee the safety and fair and humane treatment of all prisoners of war including repatriation to their home countries where applicable.

All British Londinium peacekeepers are asked to cease and desist attacks against the rebels and aid our forces in maintaining law, order, and human rights in the occupied city. Failure to do so will result in military action.

In addition,use of weapons of mass destruction against Vetalian troops will result in severe retaliatory action, up to the use of tactical nuclear and chemical weaponry.

People's Will leaders were finding it an absolute nightmare to order a simple attack on a small Imperial force. Though repeated orders were sent, individual People's Wills units refused to obey them. It made sense. The first ones to assault, or the Forlorn Hope, are almost guaranteed to perish. No single company wanted to go first and all refused. The People's Will found it impossible to enforce their will because they had no system of organized hierarchy. And members of the newly formed Indic Liberation Army were harassing the prostrate People's Will's cells with brutally effective ambushes. The People's Will was hardly an army, it was more of a collection of different and nominally independent cells who simply proclaimed their support for the Anarchist the People's Will championed. It was the United Nations of guerilla groups. And it was brutally ineffective in the same manner. The Kiravian-backed Indic Liberation Army was formed with many People's War Group veterans and were brutally effective against the greenhorn People's Will cells who didn't really do much yet in the war. Worst of all, many People's Will cells secretly fled the nation and did not return under the guise of gathering foreign support. Individual People's Will cells not actually endorsed by the main People's Will HQ, carried reprisal actions against the Indo-Aryan population for their harbouring of the ILA, completely alienating the People's Will to the local population. Combined with their anarchist policy of not administering occupied areas at ALL, all People's Will controlled areas faced massive growth in ILA power. Many People's Will cells were disintegrating as individual cells decided to flee the country. People's Will cells refused to assault the city as they dissolved leaving Vetalian and Zintharian forces alone to assault it by themselves which is a tactically disadvantageous position as attacking an occupied city with an enemy force outnumbering you 6-1 in their own country is typically tactically disadvantageous especially if you have a guerilla group harassing you. With around 600,000 Imperial troops with armoured and air support defending the city and a similar number of Indic guerillas outside of the city harassing invading forces, it was not a good situation to be in as there were literally no more significant anti-Imperial rebel forces.

Major Wrighton walks through the dust 'streets' of the Kiravian encampment. Not only Kiravians, but Indo-Aryans occupied the camp now. It lifted morale greatly. Coscivian and Indo-Aryan were similar languages, so the Kiravians had no trouble communicating with their new allies. Indo-Aryan civillians lived on te camp outskirts, helping the soldiers mantain the hastily assembled refuge. Hundreds of their bretheren passed the camp each day, heading towards the coast, where ships from Kiravian companies were waiting to transport them to a new land.

In the headquarters, General Greyford, his officers, and several Indo-Aryan commanders are planning their next strike.

Greyford says, "The rebels around the Capital have been severely weakened. Many have been killed by chemical weapons, and now that our Indo-Aryan friends have allied with us, their numbers are significantly lower than they were on the eve of our last strike. However, they retain strong positions in critical areas. We cannnot attack now, although munitions logistics are favourable. We must repair the tanks, vehicles, and artillery damaged in the battle, as well as treat our injured men."

An Indo-Aryan says, "You are correct, General, but how long can we keep both your 2 legions, and all of our armies in this camp? We must resupply."

Commander Greenisle agrees, "He's right, sir. We'll need to reap what we can from the countryside. I'm not suggesting we raid, but we do need to send in patrols to gather food from nearby villages. Maybe barter with some spare medical supplies or liquor for food."

Greyford sighs, "Aye, Greenisle. Organize your troops into foraging groups and send them into the villages with bargaining chips. Meanwhile, we need to set up the battle plan for freeing the capital."

Later that day, news was brought of the new attack on the capital, and the order to surrender.
The Kiravians, Indo-Aryans, and the ILA refused the order to surrender.

In the camp, horns are blaring as soldiers arm themselves and prepare to strike at the forces moving on the capital.

VEF Command Order #21

By order of Col. General Rochev, Vetalian forces will halt their advance and fortify their position outside of Tartaria Magna and continue ranged bombardment as needed. A quarantine on all traffic in and out of the city will be imposed and all vehicle traffic will be strictly regulated. All vehicles larger than light duty, save those under the control of British Londinum peacekeepers, will be destroyed on sight.

The Vetalian army hereby has the authority to shoot to kill anyone attempting to leave the quarantine zone, defined herein as the city of Tartaria Magna proper. This will remain in effect until a cease-fire ending the conflict is negotiated.

Official Announcement of the Most Serene and Holy Tartar Empire of the Two Nations

We come today to address you, the Sinic inhabitants of the Empire. It appears evident that the conflict has gone on for far too long. It has taken an incredible toll on your civilian population. Almost two-thirds of your population has perished in our high-scale chemical war. The Empire is not blind to the suffering of the Sinic peoples. We make an offer. The island of Ilha Qióng was colonized by our brave explorers. It is tropical and moist and situated fairly far away from Tartarystan. Though it is not large, it is considerably more...inhabitable than Tartarystan.

Any Sinic soldiers or civilians that surrenders to the Empire will be given amnesty and mandatory free transportation to Ilha Qiong. The island is effectively uninhabited, so the Empire will offer one major incentive. If 90% of the surviving Sinic population surrenders in the next two weeks, the Empire will benevolently grant Ilha Qiong independence.

VEF Command Order #22

The Vetalian Expeditionary Force will assist the Empire in moving said populations out of the region as a means to resolve the conflict. We will ensure that no hostile forces operating under the name of our assistance attempt to disrupt this peaceful resolution to the conflict. Upon cessation of the two-week period, our forces will begin gradual withdrawal from the country with the intent of repairing the scars of this war as much as feasible.

We will not stand idle long while you brutally slaughter your own people. For the sake of peace, please stop your campaign of genocide. If it happens again, we will come to the aid of our foreign socialist brothers!

Over 97% of the Sino-Tibetan peoples opted to capitulate, and voted for migration and independence in Ilha Qiong. The Imperial navy worked non-stop to transport these individuals to Ilha Qiong which quickly declared independence as the Ilhan Republic of Qiong, an officially neutral liberal democracy.

However, some, primarily radical anarchist militants, refused the offer. They continued to wage a war against both the Imperial government, other Sino-Tibetan forces, the Indo-Aryan population (that was in the process of moving to Kirav), and troops from Vetalia. Their numbers were not particularly strong, barely reaching two hundred thousand poorly trained men and women with guns, but they continued to attack Imperial and all foreign troops and civilians, an epithet they applied to the Indo-Aryan population due to their new allegiance and migration to Kirav.

Greyford reads the reports of the negotions between the Sino-Tibetans, Vetalians, and Tartar-Tunguskans. It seems that at least 2 of the races in Tartarystan had found new homes. Indo-Aryans in Kirav and Sino-Tibetans on Ilha Qióng. While looking over the war's total casualty reports, he fully realized the scope of the fighting. Entire cities worth of people had been wiped off the face of the planet in single battles.

Meanwhile, his troops had been working tirelessly, escorting convoys of Indo-Aryans to waiting naval carriers, fighting off attacks from anarchist Sino-Tibetans. The Indo-Aryan soldiers had been working hard as well. They were helping evacuate Indo-Aryan settlements, and get their countrymen and women under way to Kirav. They had also been training with Greyford's soldiers, making them better prepared for any conflicts they might meet.

The Kiravian 11th regiment was still in Tartaria Magna, enjoying the ceasefire with the Tartarians and the Londinian peacekeepers.

VEF Command Order #23

All militants that resist the offer of the Imperial government are hereby classified as enemies of the VEF and will be dealt with accordingly. Any and all attacks on us or the other forces in the region will be dealt with swiftly and totally.

Once peace in Tartarystan has been achieved, our forces will begin full withdrawal from the country.

A Zintharian Soldier, bearing a white flag of truce, approaches the Kiravian forces.

"The Tartarystan Government and the rebels have negotiated a sort of cease-fire. Our HQ has informed us to stop the conflict immediately."

The USSZ forces in Tartarystan currently will aid the Vetalian forces will aid in the execution of VEF Command Order 23. When this ends, ZIntharian forces will pull out of the country of Tartarystan.

Zintharian forces are also ordered to call a cease-fire with all nations aiding the Imperial Forces.
