Caribbean Sea, 50 NM from T&T

Another bright sunny beautiful day in the Caribbean Sea. Waves shimmering in the light of the sun. The sun's beams of light reflected off the hulls of Brazilian Task Force 1. 50 NM from the Islands of Trinidad and Tobago. 10,000 Marines from the 4th Battalion, 1st Marines waited for there landing on the islands as well as the 1st Artillery Battalion.

The Naval taskforce consisted of the IBS- Victor Lucas, IBS- Severino Márcio (Austin class LPDs), IBS- Graciano (OLIVER HAZARD PERRY-class SHORT), IBS- Dodsworth, IBS- Bosisio (Type 22 frigate) and the IBS- Tapajó (Type 209 submarine). The Air wing consisted of 6 Helibras HB 350, 8 Westland Super Lynx, and 6 AS 532.

The Task force would arrive at T&T in 2 hours. It would await orders to attack if the Imperium demands to T&T were not met. Until then the Marines and aviators would wait patiently.

"What the hell do they even want with us? Certainly not to stuff aide down our throats," The President paced up and down his carpeted study, the sound of crashing waves entering his drone at regular intervals. "Will the world stand for this?" He laughed realizing that the world wouldn't give a shit, certainly not enough for a couple of islands in South America, no one would care.

"Sir perhaps we should consider surrender, from what radar picks up there is a fleet out there. I mean not to diminish the stature of our own defense force , admirable though their fighting skills may be there are only 1,500 of them, not enough to hold off the crews of the vessels not even to mention anything else those ships have." Another figure who until now had only been starring out of the French windows, turn and spoke his face gray with the prospects of their situation.

"Senator, if we surrender quietly then certainly no one will help, we must spit defiance to the end. Ah well at least the regiment is ready," a attaché had padded in and handed a piece of paper to the President, "As is the coast guard, and," he laughed again, "the air wing. Well at least they won't find us unprepared if that matters."

"Sir," the shadowy figure spoke, "It is entirely your choice to fight but we have slightly under five hours to ready the militias, and arm everything up. What are your orders?"

"Yes orders... Alright have a few machine guns welded to the sides of the Utility helicopters and put some men on that, and give them a few grenades. See if you can't cut a a bomb bay in the Cassenas too, even if they're just dropping cinder blocks I want them in the air." The President madly flipped through his papers.

"Sir?"

"Ah here. Do we have any idea where they will land, I assume they plan to occupy us?"

"We are capable of tracking their warships, I doubt we can handle the landing craft but unless they plan to land unsupported, which I doubt, they can be tracked."

"... Fine get some men out in canoes and in the atolls with radios as spotters. Also get some cannons in the atolls and some riflemen, they are not to engage the warships but even a 20mm should play hell with a landing craft. the coast guard will act in much the same way, they are pretty much like any civilian ship, they should be able to merge into the harbor until they are needed. Then start handing out bounties to anyone who wants a spell in the militia, about $500 a man should bring in whatever we can get."

Another attaché had heard the raised voices from within the study and had entered, he and a staff of about five was no flying in and out of the room with dispatches as the president set up the most informal defense in the history of on the moment warfare. "Those who join without weapons, hand them whatever you can from the armory, and when that runs out have a talk with those nice men from Exxon Mobile and borrow a few thousand barrels of oil, mix in with tar from the pits and hand it to any of those without weapons, make a filling station outside the nightclubs of Heaven Street they have plenty of bottle." Another man dashed out of the room.

"Then commandeer as many civilian ships in the harbor as possible, lash them together across the more obvious landing points and splash some oil across the top. Any money left in the treasury, we buy provisions and set them aside in the mountains and rain forest, once we lose the city we'll hold up there. And perhaps get a little praying done."

Diplomatic Message From: The Republic of Trinidad And Tobago
To: The World (Accept Brazil and it's allies of course)

In slightly under four and a half hours we expect to be attacked by a superior force of the Brazilian Empire, we don't stand much of a chance. We ask and nation of the world who would take pity on us now to stand with us and fight this tide of tyranny or do anything in your power to assist us in the upcoming struggle. In exchange for full military help we offer full mineral access rights to any nation that champions our cause, and of course free trade, and tribute from Trinidad in many years to come. We need not remind the world of the oil wealth off our coast, and pray that this will motivate you to help a desperate people.

Signed:
The Rt. Honorable President Joseph Knock

Official Response From: The Office of President of the Republic of Trinidad
To: Brazilian Battle Fleet

The Republic most decline your offer, though we have considered it from all angles. Though we are considered a bit Old Guard by portions of the world, we need no welfare, we need no aide, and we certainly do not need glorious prospects of the future. It may have escaped you but our people are happy, our standard of life is greater then yours, our economic future sound. Our Democracy will never be replaced by a Tyranny, our freedoms never surrendered to the whims and instability of a crackpot monarch. Sir we deny your claims, and we shall continue to deny you despite whatever evil awaits us within two hours.

Signed:
The Rt. Honorable President Joseph Knock

OOC More then a couple a minutes but meh.. Anyway as for defense it is best Described as Swiss Family Robinson, if you intend to charge up a easily defendable hill waving a plastic sword then you are in for an ass stomping.

Here's what to expect:
1500 Well Trained and Well armed Infantry: one Regiment. Rl they are the Equal of British so fairly good, dulled down a bit though. All professional soldiers, based inside Port Of Spain.

17,000 Armed Militia: Ranging from modern military rifles to turn of the century pistols the basic in armed mobs. Mostly they will be unorganizied and taking potshots out of windows and in the fields and any landing forces.

12,000 Armed Mob: Basically their main weapon will be the modern equivilant of Greek fire, oil and tar in the firebomb variety. Quite nasty but basically just a fly in the ointment.

8 Partially Armed Helicopters
4 Improvised bombers
6 Coast guard Patrol Boats
About thirty ramming ships, bulk containers and alike.
I think you can gather the rest from the post but specific numbers are helpful.

Kampfers Stadt, Kampfers
Kampferian High Command

Fuhrer Richtoff looked over the offer one last time. Kampfers was powerful, and only getting more so. They had taken numerous places with no loss of life, and had gotten Vanek Drury Brieres to become a protectorate. Now, the oppurtunity arose for Trinidad to become a protectorate as well, with the NPO gaining several exclusive benefits. But he had recently signed a NAP with Dweladelfia, and also had a free trade agreement with them. It was a tough choice.

But then again, Kampfers did have a way about things. And one of those things was being very aggressive in foreign policy. As such, and knowing that the NPO would come and aid, Richtoff made his choice. He wrote out a message, and handed it to an aide to send in a secure fashion.

To The Rt. Honorable President Joseph Knock,

Kampfers and her allies have heard your cry and will come to your aid. Moving in your direction at this instant is a large fleet of Kampfers, not to mention the coming armadas of our allies. Hold out until we arrive.

Sincerely,
Fuhrer Richtoff

A large group began moving out. One section of the fleet had been in the Pacific on the other side of the Canal, next to Panama. They were no longer needed there, and as such moved to rondesvue with a fleet in the Gulf.

OOC- You seem to be confusing Nationstates roleplay with real life. I find it extremly, extremely unlikely that the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago would rise up in arms to attack a landing force. Especially in the numbers you provided. Even armed mobs are unlikely. In Real life everyone is not-gung-ho defeat the enemy, and would most likely be in their homes, running, protecting their families, etc, not grabbing improvised weapons and going to "Crack some Brazilian skulls".

OOC-Candistan, the Ukraniya is serving in the Ukranian navy (Granate) not the Russian Navy, the Kirov is being scrapped in Norway after being cannibalized for parts to keep the Pyotr Velikiy running, the Sovremenniy was scrapped in 2003, The Otchayanny in 2005, Otlichnyy was decommissioned in 1998(!) and cannibalized for spare parts, Stoykiy the same as the former, and only 4 Kirvak 1 type frigates are left in the Russian navy, as the I's and II's are being phased out and some of the III's updated.

OOC: A brief insight into my nations indifferent foreign policy that revolves around them and Europe...

The two men lay back calmly in their chairs. Chief Minister Éric Gaudet, current ruler of the Franco Confederation, looked out into the sunny Paris afternoon - the view over the winding river was beautiful, though he frowned in the sunlight, doing his wrinkled face further damage. He felt old.

Opposite him sat the worried looking Minister for Defence, Jules Facet, sipping silently a cup of steaming hot coffee. The Chief Minister was drinking tea, slowly taking it to his mouth in long slurps. Tea was not a drink drunk by the French, it was very unusual, very English.

Jules spoke in a hurried, thick French accent "They have started to invade Trinidad and Tobago, Éric. The Brazilians. The New Pacific Order has seen fit to step in to defend the little country."

"Oh" said Éric, his accent less strong. He seemed slightly bored by the conversation already. "How admirable of them" He said in sarcastic tone.

"Should we assist?" Jules asked.

"Did we once conquer them? Are they administered by a European?" Éric replied, before speaking quickly again, asking the most important question "Do they speak French?"

"No to all, but -" He was interrupted before he could finished.

"Then we do nothing." Gaudet calmly said, a pleasant smile across his face as he took a final sip of tea.

That is exactly it in fact, Real Life and Nationstates are completely different, would Brazil be annexing Trinidad, would Russia support the United States with massive military Fleets? Now if you take the numbers, let's say an even 40,000 From Trinidad that's including pilots, ship crews everything in this little defense. At 40,000 it's 3% of the population, other nations manage more then that when not having their home lands invaded. If I am not entirely mistaken this is a role play. In fact if I am not mistaken again it would be a rules violation for Trinidad to be RL Trinidad, at this point in time I Rp Trinidad as the Nationalistic country possibly just escaping the colonial grasp of ,insert name here, country through force of arms. Because of the new rules it is of the utmost importance that I do confuse Real Life with Role play at least to some extent.

The New Pacific Order was thriving now in the Pacific-but the three Imperial nations that primarily made up its membership-now up to four with the VDB as an associate member-were warriors at heart, and capatalists by nature. Though the military branch of the NPO-the Legion-was still forming up, the three full members were already goading for war-and with Trinidad and Tobago, generally a nation the NPO would overlook even if under attack, essentially selling itself out for protection, the Order was not overlooking the chance to become richer for little effort. The Imperium of Brazil seemed to be the attacking force-and while the Order didn't care about interfering in regional conflicts, when there was money involved, it didn't matter who was fighting.

The NIR and Kampfers were ahead of the Dominion in putting together fleets, but Amazonia's Emperor wasn't far behind. While plotting agaisnt North Korea continued on, to eventually eradicate that pathetic nation sucked between Animarnia and Amazonia, a decent sized military force was being put together. The carrier Enterprise hadn't arrived yet, but the carrier Kitty Hawk, before being turned over to the Amazonians, had been based at a Kampferian base in Amazonia (OOC Yokosuka naval base, where the Hawk is actually based). This was good for the Amazonians-it had to travel a few kilometers to reach it's new base of operations as the current flagship of the Dominion flotilla before Enterprise showed up from the Kampferian East Coast. The Amazonians had essentially bought the carrier and everything that came with it, including the planes on the deck (the EA-6Bs and E-2s weren't included, nor were the SH-60Bs, but the Dominion already had Seahawks). The 'Hawk was all ready to go, and the Dominion-a warrior nation-was just jumping for a strike somewhere. A quick force was put together from Pacific seaboard bases to rendevous slightly outside of Dominion waters, than to head to the VDB's canal.

The Kitty Hawk spearheaded the task force, but it was not the only ship coming along, merely the flagship. For destroyers, 2 5000ts, 1 Atago and 1 Kongo, both Hatakazes, 3 Sejong the Greats, 2 Takanamis, and 3 Chungmugong DDHs were coming along. The frigate fleet was smaller, but still powerful, consisting of 2 Asagiris, 3 Hatsuyukis, 1 Abukuma, and 4 Ulbans. Plenty of PCFGs, small missile boats but capable of striking at range, were also going along, 2 Yoon Young-ha class and 9 Pohang-class. The submarine fleet was to guard the fleet, consisting of 1 2900t-class, 4 Oyashio-class, 1 Harushio class, and 3 Chang Bo-Go class.

The support fleet was tough and ready for land warfare. 2 Osumi-class LSTs (more like LHDs, and they could carrier VTOL craft), 2 Gojunbong-class LSTs, and 2 Solgae 621-class LSFs. One Cheonji-class AOE also was accompanying.

The Imperium of Brazil announces that we will be withdrawing all forces from Trinidad and Tobago. We did not realize that it would cause this much anger by neighboring countries. We apologize for our actions and hope it doesn’t hurt our relations with the pacific order.

The Constellation was the current pride of the Animarnian navy; as the only operational Kitty Hawk Class Carrier in the fleet while the two ordered Forestall class went into dry dock 3 months ago for an extensive re-fit being a mere shell there former glory however had its advantages. One of which being they could be upgraded to nuclear carriers instead of the steam turbines plus several design flaws could be fixed to bring them more up to the modern standard this could not have been done if not for the state of disrepair the carriers were in. The Constellation spearheaded the attack group in port. Flagged by at least 6 Ludah class destroyers and 8 Type 53H3 Frigates; below the waves 2 Shang Class SSN and 4 Song Class SSK's were silently waiting. This was the new Pacific Battle Group. Fleet support and supply ships were present too for the long deployment. Carrying vital fuel; food and ammunition required.

The Decks of the Constellation were pristine with the new F/A-17 Thunder Dragon Multi Role Fighters; the Thunder Dragon being a navelised variant of the J-17 Vigorous Dragon fresh off the production line. The F/A-17 alone would have a production run well into 400 with the J-17 not far behind. These 60 odd F/A-17's were the first off the production line that hit full capacity 3 months ago; the lines were producing 30 a month now. It would be an interesting combat test. Animarnia had never fought on foreign soil so far away before now. But the 30 odd Ka-38 Helix's would deploy nearly 1200 Animarnian Marines for combat in support of the NPO. Well wishers and families of sailors waved the New Pacific Carrier Group off as it left port towards Trinidad Mean while the 1st and 2nd Armies were being mobilised for a potential attack against North Korea…

Interestingly the Admiral in charge; Dina Cain; was ordered to All Stop only a few hours after leaving port and hold position for further instructions from the NPO...

Kampfers is glad that Dweladelfia Prime has shown reason. Hopefully the nations of the world will learn not to dabble in the New Pacific Order's sphere of influence, especially in that of Kampfers. We thank you for your judgement shown.

SIC:

To The Rt. Honorable President Joseph Knock,

Kampfers and her allies have saved you. As such, we move that you become an affiliate state or protectorate of the New Pacific Order. You will give us everything you mentioned previously, but you will also recieve more economic, political, and military benefits.

Sincerely,
Fuhrer Richtoff

This is an acceptable course of action from the present time. Though I do not believe using the word protectorate would be wise in the circumstances, Trinidad is a fiercely independent nation and prepared to fight such a verbal slap. I do not share such sentiments you shall have all promised things provided of course we remain autonomous, inside Kampfers yes, an affiliate state possibly, but I do not suggest using such words. We are your servants but I will warn you should you become overbearing my people will not approve and most likely defend their so called honor.

Signed:
Joseph Knock

OOC You take the country, but as a parting gift it is going to be a fairly rebellious one.
