Live Aid 2007
http://img55.imageshack.us/img55/6998/15516167af0.gif (http://imageshack.us)
In a world where wars, famine and genocide are commonplace and are often encouraged or even undertaken by large nations, where smaller nations are exploited for their natural resources by vicious corporate moguls like those of the Corporate Alliance while their citizens are left impoverished, ideals like humanitarianism seem to have been abandoned or forgotten.
However, we here in the Tocrowkian Reich would like to change that. Not only because we want to prove we aren't always vicious fascist bastards, but because we care. With that in mind, we would like to announce the formation of Live Aid 2007, a series of benefit concerts that will hopefully raise awareness in the very serious problems across the globe and raise funds to relieve them.
With that in mind, we would like other countries to assist us in this task. One of the most important things you can do is host a venue for these concerts in one of your cities. However, there are only eight spots open, so be sure to claim yours fast! (Some restrictions may apply)
However, even if you cannot host a venue, you can still endorse Live Aid 2007 by sending some of your nations popular bands and singers out to perform and raise funds. And perhaps most importantly, you can donate to Live Aid 2007's funds. On that note, 100% of the funds raised by this event will be donated to charity and scientific organizations world wide.

1: Pharamas, Tocrowkia
2: Seoul, Grand Korea

But Live Aid is above such stupid politics, you are welcome. And since we need at least one other "Great" nation to host a venue, you are accepted.

Surely your resources would be better spend solving the problem, rather than singing for it?
We see no good that this series of concerts will do, it's only outcome increased revenue for the sponsors, and yet another fattened wallet for the artists. For shame.

Nice assumption. How sad that it's only that. All the performing artists receive no money or benefit fiscally from these concerts in anyway. And as for your assumption that the problem would be better solved directly, well, this is suppose to be a fun way to both raise interest in humanitarian causes and awareness.

[OOC: I am serious. Anti-Catholicism in Kahanistan is a major social problem that the government has struggled with since the conquest of the Negev Desert by Doomingsland (an extremist Catholic dictatorship) and the displacement of Kahanistan to Haven. I could provide links that detail the views of the anti-Catholics, but for a basic idea, remember the anti-Muslim sentiment after 9/11, then imagine it was done by Catholic rather than Muslim extremists, then imagine that instead of 3,000 people it was more like 3,000,000.
Of course, if you weren't referring to me, by all means disregard this. I do intend to develop my band members somewhat, and maybe even have them go on a world tour in the future.]

OOC: Despite my post appearing humorous, I am entirely serious about it. For one, most modern bands are humorous in name or their behavior. Take for example Reel Big Fish. I'll admit the "Never Gonna Give You Up" part was a bit of a build on a meme that's being beaten to death around here, my point remains that my post was entirely serious and legitimate and will be RPed further as such. And also, even the most serious of RPs have some elements of comic relief even if it be in the name of characters and the like only.
