History of the Dominion

The Dominion of Amazonian Beasts originated around the Amazon River, a major river on the primary island of Secha (OOC: Honshu). A primordial civilization developed there-very much South American in their characteristics and habits. The civilization, though, due to metal deposits across the Gembu island chain (OOC: Japan), was able to prosper somewhat. Competition was virtually non-existant on the archipelago, and the First Amazonians flourished in a climate that bristled with animal life and plants. The Gembu archipelego was a vibrant community of life.

The First Amazonians grew a very potent social civilization and a very detailed and complex religion. Polytheistic, the First Amazonian religion was passive and peaceful-in harmony with the abundant nature around. The First Amazonians lived first as community brothers, but second as farmers, hunters, and gatherers-they lived the long-sought pastoral ideal to its fullest. It was as close to peace as likely ever achieved on the planet-and then, it was taken away.

White expeditionary teams landed on the Gembu archipelago in the year 1560, and discovered the world of the First Amazonians untainted by warfare and greed. However, the whites saw all that potential-and greed took their own eyes. They were able to exploit the polite attitudes of the First Amazonians, gaining information about the archipelago, city locations, and major weaknesses that white forces could exploit. They left after 6 months, with shiploads full of information to destroy the First Amazonian culture.

In 1562, a second landing-a full armada of naval ships, with tens of thousands of men-landed on Secha island. The First Amazonians treated the whites with friendliness-just like the previous time. However, this time the whites came with a secret weapon-clothing and cloth for trade, laced with smallpox. Whites had developed an immunity to smallpox (mostly), but it was a new shock to the First Amazonians-one that doomed them. Three days after the first greetings and exchanges, the effects began to show-the natives began to fall from the deadly disease soon after.

Then, entire populations began to fall. It was better than the whites could have expected-it was total chaos. The attack began as soon as over 87% of the native population had been infected, with a 74% fatality rate. The whites swept over the First Amazonians with lethality and swiftness-none were left standing in the early Blitzkreig. The First Amazonians were almost totally wiped out in the brutal slaughter. The population was vanquished.

White colonization began fast. The remaining First Amazonians that remained were quickly enslaved-and integrated into a society of greed, of desire, of lust, of fear. The whites-primarily of British and German descent, though also with French, Italian, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, and Greek roots-began flocking towards the verdant paradise-goaded on by promises of wealth and fortune at the flick of a hand by existing colonists. The population of the Gembu island chain spiraled upwards uncontrollably-until the revenge of the First Amazonians came back.

The First Amazonian population, the lowest of society-even less than the Africans, free men who walked the archipelago-had some plagues of their own still running through the blood. It was a dormant stream of disease that had lasted fifty years before breaking out in 1608. It swept across the island chain, ransacking the white population-though not harming the First Amazonian slaves, or oddly enough, the Africans. However, the reactions by the whites was little more than savagery. Blaming the probem on the slaves-somewhat justifiably so-the First Amazonians-all remaining-were cut down like animals. The ethnicity ceased to exist.

The plague soon ceased, and life returned back to normal for the survivors-a 32% fatality rate amongst the colonists, a powerful threat. Gembu island chain, oddly enough, was not a colonial organization-it was simply a seperate entity, remaining in the Pacific Ocean as a landmass that simply was there. The white nations and imperial organizations overlooked it, and the colonists there grew in size as immigrants came in-developing into a strong enough civilization. Natural resource deposits were mixed, but nature was abundant in provision.

As 1803 rolled around, the colonists got together to truly decide their own fate. In the colony-town of Amazonia, on the banks of the Amazon River, the Gembu Covenant was signed-a pact that affirmed the nationality of the colonists. Rather than simply being whites and Africans on an island chain, they were now united-united as Amazonians in the newly-created Federation of Amazonian Beasts. It was a Federation that would last over 150 years.

The Federation cautiously played a hand as the world waxed and waned during the 1800s, focusing more on inward problems, though dealing with other nations in self-interest only. It turned inwards, though not isolationist-simply focusing on inside problems. The economy rolled along well, and the 19th century entirely was fairly uneventful and quiet for the Federation. The 20th century would bring about several eye-openers that would fail to wake the Federation in time to avoid doom.

In 1911, as the world tipped perilously close to World War I, the Federation experienced the first of three civil unrest periods. It was no revolution, but it was bad-a massive wave of rioting and protesting swept the nation, storming the streets, and occupying policing forces for weeks on end. It was the first call to the government of the Federation to start a system of lightening up on the people-but no such thing occured. Instead, the Federation began passing laws the restricted civil rights-but did not install a system to enforce a sense of fear.

In retrospect, this was the worst move the Federation could have made. It sparked even further resentment in a disgruntled nation...and underground movements began. A resistance movement called "Smothered Fire" began a terrorist campaign that would last until 1961. It took its toll immeditely beginning in its inception in 1915, as World War I began-three bombings blasted the congressional hall of the Federation. It took time to link it to a terror group-and the Smothered Fire hid well.

The Federation managed to avoid World War II as well, but the Smothered Fire in 1961 was directly responsible for causing a small-time revolt-that was crushed. However, the terror organization was found this time, and an inordinate amount of leaders killed-sparking even more resentment. This kind of inefficiency marked the mind of one Federation general, Kile Droma-who taught all his knowledge to his then-21 year old son, Kyp.

Kile died in 1972, but his dream did not. 32 year old Kyp was more than unsatisfied with the battered and pathetic Federation-he wanted change. Kyp was the youngest ever elected to be a general in the military at 33-unprecendented, and absolutely bizarre. However, his tactical, strategic, and political mindset was anything but bizarre-it was fine-tuned.

A general's son, Kyp had learned warfare from an early age, and he was no stranger in the time of need. The Federation was finishing a costly fight for Seyon (RL South Korea) when Kyp struck-ransacking the city of Turtumba and blowing out the Federation presence. The local garrison-Turtumba was a heavy military city-quickly defected, and Turtumba-renamed Necropolis-became Droma's stronghold ever since. The war proceeded from there, and as soon as the Federation wrapped up Seyon, they turend all guns back at Droma.

However, despite Droma's cold, calculating intellect, the civilian population was overjoyed by the organized, powerful revolution-many flocked to his banner, and over 30% of the military too. The Federation had numbers, but the brightest and best had gone to the rebels-and Droma's group, calling itself the "Dominion", began a crusade to take back Amazonian Beasts as their own. A four-year struggle began, shedding millions of lives.

The turning point came at the Battle of Tierra Heights, on a hill overlooking the massive city of Tierra. Dominion tanks, coming in the night under a new moon, ripped through unsuspecting Federation lines in a quick attack-and then threw in forces after forces into blasting apart the Federation lines. In a three-day struggle, the Dominion came away victorious-and the Federation lost over 200,000 in a single battle. The rest was all downhill.

Amazonia itself was put under seige on July 12th, 1976, and lasted for two months. On September 13th, the leaders of the Federation and army leaders came out of the city in surrender-and were promptly mowed down by machine gun fire. The Dominion leadership stormed the city, and went on a rampage, looting, plundering, and setting fires as the militayr seigers were let in. Amazonia was ruined-but it wouldn't stay that way.

On the same day, Droma pronounced himself Emperor-for life, to wildly enthusiastic throngs in nearly every city except the capital. Droma's rule proved harsh, but unlike the Federation, the dictator had the power to back it up. The army was expanded, the military made into a fiersome unit. The first ten years were marked by mysterious disappearances and the presence of the secret police on every street corner. It was dark days, but better times were ahead.

As Droma aged, he began to turn around some of his own policy-though never renounced his own right to rule. A legislative body was approved-the Imperial Senate-and a political executive branch established-headed by the Chancellor and his second, the Viceroy. However, Imperial power was still the forerunner-the most powerful wield. Droma became more of a benevolent ruler in the new Imperial democracy-and territorial gains became harder to see as the world cooled.

Now, as Droma ages, the Dominion faces a potential time of crisis coming-a time when the revolutionary leader may find his own time end, and a new to come to succeed him. Who it will be is unknown, but five apprentices stand below him-five unrivaled in tactical, strategical, political, social, and physical ability. They are vying for his spot once Droma's thread of life is cut-and who ascends is still to be found.

To whomever it may concern:

We would like to propose an embassy exchange between our two nations: you get an embassy in Athkatla (RL The Hague) in exchange for our receiving an embassy in Amazonia. Sound like a deal?

Offical telegram from Kansiovian Empire

We would like to purchase 34 F-15/E for our 1st Strike Aircraft in the Mexican army. We would also want to purchase a Chang Bo-Go-class Submarine for our Mexican Navy. We would want a Embassy exchange between both of our Nations and hope that Japanese businessmen would be willing to pour in investments in our Nations. Being our 3rd largest trade partner, (behind Kampfers and Animarnia) we want to estabish free trade between both of our Nations, to reduce dependency on Animarina for Consumer products and rely more from your Nation and our domestic market.

Official Diplomatic Communiqué

Personally Addressed to the Honourable Kyp Droma,

In an effort to improve relations with our fellow powers outside Europe, the Franco Confederation would like to request the opening of an embassy in your capital, Amazonia, and would like to offer you an embassy in Paris or Brussels, and a consulate in Singapore. We feel these embassies would provide an easy way of contact between our two nations, and improve relations, something we desire, as the FC has long been too focused on Europe.

We also wish to increase dialogue between our two organizations we are members of. Recently a European Community has been established, it's main goals to abolish trade barriers and tariffs between European nations, and to protect Europe’s sovereignty. As such, in one of the three permanent countries of the New Pacific Order, the Franco Confederation working with the EC would also like to establish an office of sorts, to improve relations between the two defence organizations. It is our ultimate aim that this will help the NPO three nations become at least partial associate members, which means mutual lowering of tariffs, cheaper trade and access to waterways etc. Once the EC is up and running it will be them to communicate to you more about this, for now, the Franco Confederation will assist them by doing so.

We look forward to your reply.

Chief Minister for the Franco Confederation
Chief Minister. Éric Gaudet
Interim President of the European Community,
Miguel Perez

Dear the Dominion Foreign Affairs Department,

We here at the VDB would like to offer you an embassy in lovely Brieresburg and would like to have an embassy in the Dominion. We hope these are the beginnings of a long and healthy relationship. We would also request to be moved to the "Calm" section of your diplomatic relations, as you would be moved also.

We regret that we may not join the European Community as our country resides in Central America. Good luck to your country in the years to come.

Signed,

All embassies and consulates are accepted gladly by the Dominion, and Amazonia would like to send ambassadorial corps overseas to represent the Dominion in foreign affairs.

Official Reply to the Franco Confederation

Regarding the NPO relations to the EC, though our official legislative and command capital is in Kampfers, Necropolis-Imperial capital of Amazonia-would be open for an EC office to represent European affairs in what is essentially the most liberal nation in the NPO, the Dominion, and therefore closest (relatively) to the EC. As for partial membership, the NPO isn't committing yet, but the option will be explored for potential closer future relations.

Official Reply to the Kansiovan Empire

We can supply 34 F-15E Strike Eagles, but since they are the Dominion (OOC Korean) variant, with advanced avionics and an improved radar suite, they will cost a slight bit more-$56 million per fighter.
As for the submarine, since the Chang Bo-Go class is a less-used class by the Dominion slowly being phased out by newer classes, the Dominion will be glad to sell one for $572 million to the Empire, with extension for further of the class for $550 million each should the Empire pursue more craft.
As for business ventures, Dominion capital investors are always looking into new markets and the Empire seems a prime candidate-a country currently below the top class but with plenty of potential.

The Dominion will gladly upgrade an important nation like the VDB to calm, with control of a vital resoruce, the Canal, that is highly important to NPO mobility.

Message From: Grand Admiral Terrance Opplant, Waldenburg Republic
To: Chairmen of Hyundai Heavy Industries

It has come to our attention that though we may be a naval power we severely lack something in the manner of a flagship. We believe that Hyundai could satisfy that need as one of, if not the leading shipyards in the world. To that extent Waldenburg wishes to request the construction of a light aircraft carrier built to our specifications.

Magisterium Class Light Carrier

Displacement: 23,900 Tons (Unloaded)
32,000 tons Loaded

Length: 215 Meters (706 Feet)
Beam: 38 Meters (118 feet)
Draught : 8.2 Meters (26 feet)

Beam: 48.78 meters (151 feet)
Maximum Speed: 32 Knots
Range: 5400 NM at 18 knots
Propulsion: A maximum of five standard turbines producing at least 107,000 hp of drive. Hyundai

Complement: 990 (275 Man aircrew)

Armaments:
4X Phalanx CIWS (Anti Missile system)
2X # A-190(E)100mm (Automatic deck gun)
2X Barak SAM

Sonar:
1X Graseby Type 184M hull-mounted sonar, with active search & attack capability from 6-9 kHz

Radar:
# Air Search - One Bharat/Signaal RAWL 02 radar at C/D-band frequency
# Air/Surface Search - One RAWS 08 radar at E-band frequency
# Navigation - Two Bharat Rashmi radars at I-band frequency
# Fire Control - EL/M-2221 STGR radar
# Tacan - FT 13-S/M

This is of course designed with products more readily available to us, but I believe also easy to obtain for a company such as yours. Our starting offer on the contract is 1.65 Billion Imperial Florins (550 Million USD) with a promise of two cruisers to follow at .9 Billion IF each (300 Million USD to follow.) We are prepared to go higher but there are other companies prepared to complete these ships should we find things unsatisfactory. Please respond with suggestions and any issues you may have with the proposal.

Hyundai Industries

For an additional 50 million USD, Hyundai Industries will extend the width of the carrier and add a 3x3 VLS block to replace the SAM launcher for a more efficient system (this is up to the nation of Waldenburg to decide upon).
If not, Hyundai agrees to the terms and the price and can begin construction within a month. Time to completion can not be determined as of the current moment, but can be determined within 3 months of initial construction.
