Year 2045 A.D.
Island #319
Genetic Engineering Development Lab

*Thump Thump*

The whole room seemed to pound when the beast blinked. It was gigantic, and kind of resembled a man. Muscles bulged from almost every inch of his dark gray skin. He was almost nine feet tall, and long sharp teeth hung down from his mouth. Just being near him it seemed that he had his own force that pushed you away. Huge chains held his arms and legs down, he was suspended against a wall.

"Subject 93, no progress on verbal commands. Failure to distinguish between friend and foe. Consider subject a complete failure," A man wearing a labcoat and holding a clipboard was rapidly writing this down, "terminate project ASAP."

Several similarly dressed men nodded and looked at each other, after several seconds one of them ran off. Not even two minutes later several soldiers stepped in the room, they each had medium sized machine guns. Without any verbal commands they raised their weapons and opened fire on the beast. It roared and flexed it muscles, the chains holding it down shattered, and large pulse shot through the room. The soldiers and scientists all were knocked over, the soldiers were up in what seemed no time at all, and they opened fire once more. The monster roared and flexed it's muscles again, shooting another pulse through the room. The walls started shaking, and the ceiling started giving in. As soon as the ceiling started to give in, the soldiers jumped on top of the scientists, hoping their body armor would protect them.

A large piece of rock fell on the beasts head, it roared, and swiped at the ceiling, causing it to fall even more. The beast was crushed under the rubble.

The soldiers waited for the building to stop shaking before moving, by this time the whole buildings alarm system had activated. The whole facility was damn near destroyed, every subject had been released. Everyone in the testing center knew that this was only the beginning of the problems that they were about to face. The destruction of this multimillion dollar facility, was nothing compared to what was at stake....

A small red blip showed up on the world map, it was quickly enlarged. The soldier sitting behind the desk immediately stood up and ran out of the room, his news was too important to go through the formalities of chain of command. He took off down the hall, and knocked on a large door.

Valerie heard a knock on her door, and sat back in her chair. The years had not been kind on her body, she'd been blown up, shot stabbed, and fallen so many times she should be dead. Regardless of all she'd been through she still had the body of a twenty year old, even though she was approaching her sixties. Another knock came on the door, it sounded rather urgent.

"Enter," her voice was commanding and cold, it seemed it could pierce right through your heart.

The young soldier entered.

"Ma'am, we have a bad situation happening in one of our testing facilities. The facility was destroyed, and everything that was there is on the loose."

She nodded, showing no emotion. Her eyes almost piercing into the messenger.

"It's on Island #319, they were testing genetic engineering, it's the facility that made the Loki Virus and the Fenrir Virus."

"Weren't the subjects of the Fenrir Virus destroyed?"

"The last one was scheduled for destruction today, Ma'am, but that still does nothing about the Loki Virus."

"Destroy the island, make everyone MOPP level three, and mobilize troops."

"Roger that, Ma'am"

Island #319
The remains of the testing facility

The soldiers had stepped out of the destroyed room, the subject had been crushed. Being near that thing made them tired, but now was no time to be resting. Something ran down the hall they were in, and a scientist screamed. The second soldier looked back to find one of the scientists killed already.

"Move out, fast."

The soldiers ran towards the entrance of the building. The building was littered with dead already, and sounds of automatic gunfire filled the building as the soldiers stationed at the building started killing every thing that was there. A dead scientist started rising, and attacked the scientist that was trying to escape. The soldiers didn't slow down, they knew it was too late for him.

The home stretch, the exit, they could see it at the end of the hallway, it was only the two soldiers. A gas line was leaking, and caught a spark as they were making a break for the door. The explosion knocked them down, and completely covered one of them in shrapnel, the other only received a few pieces of shrapnel in his leg. He had no time to bring his comrades body to safety, soon the strike team would destroy the facility, and his efforts to escape would be pointless.

Once outside he still had no time to rest, he was fatigued beyond belief, and had just witnessed his best friend die. He needed to get away before he was consumed in the waste. He continued running in the tropical humidity, the heliport was only half a mile away.

Once there a helicopter was already prepped for takeoff, several of the other soldiers had made their way out there. He stopped running, and started hacking up blood. The damned shrapnel wasn't helped by this run. He started walking towards the helicopter.

"Freeze," A gruff voice yelled at him from behind the barrel of an SMG.

He stopped, and looked at the soldier, "The pride of Valarie stuns us all," he said between breaths. His statement was punctuated by a coughing fit.

"Get on, we gotta go, the island will be destroyed in less than twenty minutes."

He nodded and made his way onto the helicopter. Only three of them, counting himself had made it away. Slowly the helicopter took off, and sped away over the seas, the nearest body of land would be their landing zone, a full tank of fuel was provided for their ride.

Unknown body of land

*KZZZHCK*"Unidentified aircraft, you are in unauthorized airspace, land immediatley."

The pilot flipped the switch on the handset, and started speaking, "Roger that air co...." the handset dropped. "What the fuck are you doing?"

A scream came over the radio, then the sound of a gunshot, and another scream. A loud beeping came over the air. The helicopter started going down. It crashed in a building in a large coastal city.

((OOC:Open to all, it's going to turn into a survival RP, I don't want national involvement. As of right now, I need someone who has a coastline to take charge of having the helicopter crash there.))

Lars Gray Memorial Hospital

They all came to consciousness at relatively the same time, but hospital curtains blocked out their view of one another, a nurse walked by shortly after the soldier awoke. She eyed him over and concluded that he must be one of the survivors of the helicopter crash judging by his numerous cuts and bruises.

“Hello,” the nurse said, and something seemed to blow her shoulder length brown hair, “you’re one of the survivors of the crash aren’t you?”

“Crash?” the soldier said, then remember the last seconds before impact. “Oh, yea, I guess I am.”

“You don’t have a name on your chart,” the nurse said, “what is your name.”

“Hector Slavic.” he lied. He didn’t know what country he was in, much less what city, or military base, so he wanted to keep his private information to himself. The nurse filled in the chart.

Well, Mr. Slavic let me be the first to welcome you to New Savannah and to the Far Echo Islands; this is the southern province of Carribbia, and you are in Lars Gray Memorial Hospital.”

“Are there any military bases around here?” He asked, the nurse seemed to know a lot but she did not seem like she could put together the pieces of this convoluted puzzle he’d found himself in.

“There’s the large Minkov Air Force Base on the outskirts of the city, and though you didn’t’ hear it from me, there’s also the secret ‘Facility 4967’ underneath it.

“Thanks…”

“Oh, of course, I’m obliged to help.” For a second he wondered if she was a robot.

“And I’m where, now?”

“The city of New Savannah, nicknamed the Orange City, because most of the buildings are glass and the coast is on our western shore, the whole city turns orange at dusk. One of the reasons I came here…” She wonder off a little in thought at the end of here sentence.

“Is there a civilian international airport near by?” He querryed, suddenly feeling the need to get out of this new and strange land and back home to Nation of Fortune.

“Yes,” she snapped out of thought, “Neo Chernobyl International, exactly 40 kilometers east of here. But you really should stay the night here, this” she pointed to the chart, “says you have some internal bleeding that may spread if you don’t get rest.”

“I won’t leave; I was just getting my bearings.” He once again lied.

The one who indicated himself as Hector, was the senior of the soldiers. He was surprised he was still alive after that crash. It took him a minute to remember what had happened. One of the soldiers was infected with the Loki Virus, he tried to bite him, causing him to crash. He wasn't sure which one it was though, if they both made it as well he wouldn't be able to tell until he tried to attack again. The Loki Virus doesn't completely take the brain over for several hours, meaning if someone realized they had it, they could conceivably hide the fact for a while.

"Hector" wasn't sure what exactly was going to happen, but regardless, it didn't sound like it was going to be fun for him. He layed back and closed his eyes for a minute, when it struck him, the urge for blood. He knew what was going to happen, he didn't stand a chance against Loki. At least now the NoF was the least of his worries, in a few hours his brain wouldn't function, and he'd become a mindless.... zombie. In a few minutes he'd develop a slight psychosis as he went insane from the virus. Shortly there after he would lose all control and his brain would become mush. He pulled the IV's out and started running towards the signs that said "Exit."

If he could make it to the military base, their comm would be nice, but even if he knew where it was, there was no way they'd let him use something as sacred as comm. Once out in the streets he felt it, insanity setting in. He started arguing with himself. He couldn't resist anymore, he bit the nearest person to him, the taste of blood, the glorious taste of blood. He felt the impact of a bullet, but the searing pain that he had felt last time wasn't there. He ran at the shooter and bit the man wearing blue. The uniform looked familiar, he couldn't quite place it, but the uniform looked like something he was told the importance about. He was shot several more times, feeling less and less each time, until finally the last of the grey matter in his skull became nothing but mush. He shuffled everywhere he went, and craved only blood.

The scene in the hospital wasn't much different, The other two eventually got up, and started attacking others. The virus was already spreading like wildfire, before too long the whole city would be filled with the monsters....

Valerie didn't want to wait on news about the destruction of Island #319, she was waiting in the information receiving center. One soldier turned to her.

"Ma'am, the island has been destroyed, although the tracking signal on one of the helicopters that was stationed there, has been detected on the Far Echo Islands. I believe that several of the survivors landed there, they might have been infected. We need to check this out."

She only nodded, and said, "Make it done."

Several voices shouted "Roger!" In unison.

The Einherjar squad was ready within the hour. Einherjar squads lived for battle, they either lived in a state of readiness, or were training. They almost lived in their battle gear, they were one of the few factions authorized to carry their weapons twenty four seven.

Twenty men were ready to be put on a high speed transport to a land they new almost nothing about. They would receive the briefing on the plane. The twenty of them stepped on the plane.

"Team leaders, are we up?" Toma said once everyone was on board.

Cyrus, Frank, and Terry looked at their team members, and all gave a thumbs up sign. He nodded.

"Doc," he paused for a second while he responded, "Carroll?" The radio operator responded in the affirmative, "Ennis, are your sniper teams up?"

He was a skinny man, but not one that should be mistaken for weak. Once he was addressed, his eyes snapped open, and he scanned the area. He easily spotted the four men under his control.

"We're up," came the almost harsh reply.

"Good," Toma started, "Our mission at this time is one of recon. We don't a map of the area, or anything useful like that. What we are looking for is signs of an experimental virus our nation was working on in top secret. Details of the virus are hard to come by, but I did manage to squeeze some information out of them. It causes a deterioration of the basic brain functions, an irresistible urge for the taste of blood, and it also causes decay of the flesh. We are under direct orders to shoot to kill any subject thought to be infected with this virus, if it gets out of our hands we are to request evac immediately. If any of you have any questions, good, I don't have answers, and even if I did I still wouldn't give a fuck about what you asked anyway."

He sat back, and waited for the pilot to tell them to start getting ready, it was going to be a long trip.
