The Washington Gala

The Union of America
21-07-2007, 20:26
A letter was sent to the nations of the world:

"His Majesty, George VI, Emperor of America invites you to come to the Washington Gala which will be held at Columbia Palace in the city of Washington (D.C), in order that the American Monarchy may gain some knowledge of the outside world and recognition from the same. If you are interested in attending, do not hesistate to contact us for answers to any questions you may have."

The letter was then sent swiftly while Columbia Palace was being prepared for the gala. Decorations were being raised, security was being trained and food and drink were being sent over. George VI hoped that some people would attend, he was looking forward to it.

The Chancelloress Santina Verona-Barron would be most honoured to attend your gala. She shall be escorted as ever by our Chair for The Council for Defence and Warfare, General Conrad Strom, and 6 Personnel from our Imperial Guardsmen (1 Officer, 1 Driver, 4 Enlisted Personnel).

We should like to request what weaponry is permitted - Imperial Guardsmen are usually required to carry swords and rifles (traditional bolt-action) with bayonets. Sidearms include modern pistols, semi-automatic. If any of these are not permitted, we will dutifully oblige.

Furthermore, we would like to request a rough itinerary for the evening, so as the Chancelloress may decide an appropriate gown to wear.

Yours,

Armen Zeroun
Pan-Arab Barronian Minister for International Affairs

OOC: Welcome to NS. Excellent use of capital letters...I like you already! :p

Official Communication of the Imperial Agency of America

The Chancelloress is more than welcome to attend the gala in Washington, and we do not mind those accompanying her to come also. We thank you for your interest.

The weaponry you have mentioned in your letter is acceptable to posess and carry at our gala. We see no problems with the weapons you have described in your letter.

As for a rough itinerary, your Chancelloress should know that the gala will include things such as a dance, dinner and a period of time when guests can get to know each other better.

If there is anything you wish to inquire about, do not hesistate to contact us.

Pan-Arab Barronia, it seems my post has appeared (after being reviewed by moderators), but it seems that your Chancelloress has landed in Cazelia.

OOC: Meh, fluid time. Cazelian Ball started a while ago - it's all effectively on the same day. As far as my nation is concerned, the event starts on the day of the OP, and lasts as long as said in the OP. A ball is one night, so she'd be free today for yours. Simple :D

Hello!

Head of state Izan Norowiz would be glad to attend your event, and will arrive the day before the ball to see your great capital city.

It is our humble request that he could possibly be escorted by a guide and military escort round the city? This would be a graet start to the event.

Are there any other details?

Comrade George VI, We happily accept your invitation. Chairman Demostratskiy shall attend your gala, as well as small guard unit (six enlisted, one officer) armed with AK-47's, who can wait elsewhere is you feel the guests would be uncomfortable around heavily armed guards. We would not feel it nessesary if not for the well known trickery off Imperialist nations.

George VI looked at the finished ballroom for the gala, it looked excellent in his sight. The decorations had been finished, the food was served and waiting on the several tables for the guests. A music orchestra was also ready to play compositions of all kinds. George VI asked one of his assistants to alert the airport to begin accepting guests. In some time the room would be filled with people.

Izan strolled out of the shining hotel gates in full naval uniform, his hair fashionably tousled and aides flanking him to the waiting Land Rover Discovery. His day had been busy - he had seen all the sights to see in the Unions glorious capital, and had to say it was impressive. The tourist districts were booming, and poverty was impressively low, even in the less visited districts - something he hoped to replicate in Czechistania's larger cities.

He now looked forward to meeting and greeting the worlds social and political elite - friends in high places are good things to have, even for a second world leader. As the Land Rover pulled up to the huge and well decorated hall, and as he entourage walked towards the main door, a sense of wealth and importance fell over Izan.

He saluted the guards on the door on the way in - the military was one of the few good things Czechistania had, and as a product of that military, Izan wanted to make a good impression. He entered the main ballroom, and was just stunned by what he saw....
