This area is for any OOC chatter about the FWA and other matters relating to members.

*Chatter-chatter*

We really needed this topic, and yes I know I've already mentioned this a couple of times already.

I'm moving here the inquiry about aircraft used by your military since it's mostly an OOC discussion.

wtf's going on with the FFI thing. Why are people so upset about these furry things. I think I even read something about sexual deviants in there?
Damirez

Well, I answered partially to the issue in there... I think people suspect he's makes a reference to the sexual part of the furry fandom, though I don't actually think that's true.

Agreed

Anyway, I think we should keep those guys around, if only for the rolf factor *As you mentioned in that thread.*

BLEH :p Just finished making a start on a factbook, so if you need a better background check or want a browse, here it is:

By the way, is there a limit on how long a post can be?
Damirez

I think there is a limit on word count in a post, but it's quite high so it's not a problem.

By the way, Homeworld fan?

Just a bit ;)

Heh, that was a good game to play.

Anyway, moving on with the FWA 'affairs' how do you guys feel we should organize the military? On that note, FreeDemGov I suggest you get your men into divisions and switch a few of those airborne divisions to armoured troops, after all a paratroop division is a paratroop division if you can actually paratroop it. :P

Any backing up for me in the Tatom affair? The communist supporters took it to themselves to organize the peace conference without confirmation from Tatom or any democratic supporter for that matter.

I know we need a bit more structure and I'm working on an overall shape of the organisation with offices and rolls spelled out. Another day or so to finish.

Right now, everyone should consider themselves the Permanent Members of the Council, so we should vote on things in future with a simple majority winning except in declaring war where a unaminous vote is needed. So far the structure is looking like:

Joint Chair of the Free World Alliance: FreeDemGov
Joint Chair of the Free World Alliance: Etoile Arcture
Command-in-Chief of the Free World Alliance Rapid Reaction Force: Damirez
Second-in-Command of the Free World Alliance Rapid Reaction Force: Googlewoop
Director of Intelligence of the Free World Alliance:
Deputy Director of Intelligence of the Free World Alliance:
High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy:

The Governing Council - and the Joint Chairmen - will have authority to create further offices as needed. Ancillary agencies, like the new FreeSatNet, will basically be running themselves as lesser offices.

If Damirez or Googlewoop want to bag the High Representative post for the negotiations in Tatom it may help to add a bit of weight.
Damirez
22-07-2007, 19:50
That's good to hear. I'm currently acting as a mediator for the Tatom situation so I may use the High Representative post for that, but only if I need a little extra weight.

On a side note I'm developing a weapon system against the Khan, secret stuff and all that, any of you know a good site about ballistics?

Just to inform you guys, I might be forced to use the High Representative post, there's some serious trouble looming on the horizon in Tatom and I'm involved in another crisis as well.

By the way Etoile Arcture, you should probably switch the link in the first post of the FWA thread about the OOC thread with one that leads here.

You go ahead and use the High Rep post if you need to. Good call on the OOC link, and love the maps.

If you're doing some R&D for a new weapon system I'd suggest the NS Draftroom: http://z4.invisionfree.com/NSDraftroom/index.php? to work out the kinks.

I found a nifty little program when I was searching for a map maker, sure it doesn't have all the tools available to Adobe or other stuff, but it's easy to use and I kinda like the way the maps work out. There's a minor issue with the saving feature, but overall it's good.

Want a map? :P

As for Tatom, the owner of the nation hasn't logged in eight days now. :(

Just a over glorified bump and a little advertising on my part.

A past to forget... :

If you guys can't join then just submitting your countries as signatories of the treaty limiting interference would be Ok.

Looks like the Order of America is having trouble with the Urceans again. I'm planning on entering the fight on the side of the OoA should everything go to hell, but I was wondering if any fellow FWA members were interested in joining me?

We could put the Rapid Response Force through the first test of its strength!

Here's the thread: http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=533926

I'm heavily committed in Cazelia and Alestra for the present. You could seek FWA support. FreeDemGov has appointed you the Alliance's high representative, so you now have the authority to mediate using the authority of the FWA: http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=532426

Hi guys

Sorry I havn't been on here at all for a while. My research work at uni took an interesting twists a few weeks ago. That as well as the fact that the people repairing my laptop are morons and I won't have it back for another couple of weeks. I'll be trying to read and post in here as much as possible.

I’m liking the policy document being posted and the fact tat we can start voting on issues. Once we get sorted I recommend another small, discreet recruitment drive to fill a few more seats and give some wider scope on issues.

Not so much liking the situation in OoA especially with Maldorians. Remember that even though it’s a third party situation and that he probably wouldn’t counterattack all of our nations, he’s huge and he does have the CA with him who are worryingly bored at the moment. Speaking of which, I heard alarm bells when he wanted to join the FWA – Sounded like CA spy to me.

Anyway, the NS world seems to be otherwise a bit quieter/stale at the moment – Might be a chance to get some internal work done.

Cheers

Good to see you back Googlewoop. But quiet? You've missed the latest: UFAN declared war against NPE/CA so no rest for the wicked then. There's also a Vetalia-ViZion War in the offing and Cazelia is being invaded. Again. And lets not forget the usual nonsense over the sovereignty of Gens Romae and Order of America *sigh*

I'm thinking of joining the FWA, but I noticed that the title of the IC thread says "MT". I just wanted to know if a nation has to be Modern Tech to join. We're not exactly FT, but I like to think we're sort of NTDFT (Not-Too-Distant-Future Tech).

MT/PMT?

Most of the nations here use some pretty advanced stuff on the field so there shouldn't be any major issue with it.

I think the generally accepted description of modern tech is around the 2020s (which is where I personally pegged my nation), tho the envelope is constantly moving forwards and what was considered PMT a few years ago is now in the MT camp as RL R&D has progressed.

Military tech wise stuff like electro-thermal chemical guns and very primitive directed energy weapons like the airborne laser are accepted in MT even tho they're technically on the cusp of PMT.

You hit PMT, at least afaik, when you're talking stuff railguns, battlefield lasers, electric armour and single stage to orbit reusable spacecraft. Those might cause us a bit more of a problem, in a MT alliance, but if you're not pushing the state of the art too far there might be a happy medium we can all agree to.

btw, if you haven't noticed Damirez, you're #4 in today's UN report for most pro-market nations.

Yah, I noticed that. Last time I was number 5, now I'm number 4, maybe the next time it will come around I'll be number 1. :D

Helps me with RPing my nation too, after all competition is always the best way to get forward.
