An honor like no other, a simple farm family asked to host a student from fellow freind and neighbor country Latin Byzantines. Of course that is because their own is going. Alexandra a 16 year old sophmore going away from home for the first time. The sound of thunder awoke her seemed like a fairly nasty storm. Her younger sister Hannah who was only 7 darted from her bed on the other side of the room. "Hey, it's all right."

"Why do you have to go away?"

"It's only for a while. You know I want to."

More thunder claps made the girls hold each other tighter. "But you'll be okay, you have Margaret, and Tommy.

"Do you think this new kid will think i'm weired for being scared of thunder and lighthing?"

"No I don't think so. Besides you and Margaret have that in common. Besides you're only seven."

"But Margaret is 13!" More and more and more thunder as well as the sound of heavy rain.

"Margaret is a tough girl not a push over. He or she wouldn't dare." A gental knock and the face of Margaret. "Hey, all right if I come in?"

"Sure."

Margaret crept into bed with them. "This is going to be weired, you being gone."

More thunder rocked the farm house. Margaret cuddled closer to Alexandra. "I hate it when it storms like this, I hope mama and papa aren't caught in this. How can Tommy sleep so well?"

"Look I don't want you two to worry."

"I don't see why you want to be a sea captain anyway," Margaret said.

"You're the farmer in this family Margaret."

"I know, I'm condemned. You don't think we're going to be made fun of?"

"Well I'll be leaving tomorrow, Ma and pa will be here with whoever it is will be me for a while. But you don't want to look like you've lacked sleep. Seeing as he'll be having my room here is what you do, Hannah you simply slip out of the room and go with Margaret. Besides I think he's going to be a bit more preocupied with the lack of electricity yet the mysterious fact we have running water."

"Oh come one it can't be that baffeling."

"You would be suprised what baffles a non-Kuronan. All right no sense talking half the night away?"

"Why not the storm is keeping us up anyway," Thunder "And it's your last night with us 'till next summer."

"All right, but if you look like zombies when our guest arrives, don't blame me in your letters."

Anne Thatcher was the descendant of an English knight who made his living in Latin Byzantines so many centuries ago. She was the daughter of a Member of Parliament and a dentist and had two siblings, the seventeen year old William and the fourteen year old Claire. She was fifteen, one year less than her mother when she met her father.

Anne was interested in going to Kurona and knew that it would be very different from Latin Byzantines. She did not disapprove with her parents signing her up, they had spent most of the days afterwards preparing for the Kuronan student's arrival.

Anne said goodbye to her assembled family at the airport and got onto her ship and finding her cabin, reading her novel. Sometimes, she would look out the window and think about how it could be for her in Kurona.

When she arrived at Kurona, she found herself in a somewhat crowded seaport and was able to find herself a place where she could wait for her host family to find her.

"You think that's her dear?" James

"Maybe. Unless her ship was caught in a storm that would delay." Lillian

"Hello are you Anne Thatcher?" asked Lillian

Anne looked to see a woman asking if she was Anne Thatcher, she smiled and nodded. "Yes, I am Anne Thatcher." Anne replied.

"Wonderful, I'm Lillian, this is my Husband James, we are your host family. Was your trip all right?"

"It is nice to meet you. My trip was quite alright." Anne said before getting a look at her host family for a brief moment.

"Good to hear. Let me take your bag for you, and you follow us." They led her to their family wagon. They helped her aboard and departed.

"I hope you like it here during your stay. It's really a great place."

Meanwhile after Alexandria left everyone was busy preparing the house for the arrival of their guest. They hung up a big banner that said WELCOME. They we're left in the dark whether it was male or female still. So they we're struggling to be gender neutral.


Alexandira stepped off the ship only to hop a plane to LB. She finally arrived and looked for her host family

"Good to hear. Let me take your bag for you, and you follow us." They led her to their family wagon. They helped her aboard and departed.

William was the first person to see Alexandra, he knew she was probably the student from Kurona. He did tell his family about her arrival and soon Alexandra was surrounded by four people.

"Are you Alexandra?" William asked her as the others watched, waiting to see if William had been correct in telling them that this was the lady from Kurona.

They finally arrived at the farm some hours later. "We're here." They helped her down and led her inside where Margaret, Tommy and Hannah all bid her a warm "WELCOME!" with noise makers and other party like items. Margaret was a bit relived to see that it was a girl instead of a boy. Girls are usually more understanding about odd things like astraphobia

Claire came forward and gave a courtsey, welcoming Alexandra to her nation and soon Alexandra was face to face with the adults in the family. Mr. Thatcher and William carried her bags while Mrs. Thatcher talked to Alexandra.

"We have prepared for you a guest room at our house, it should be alright for you." Mrs. Thatcher said.

"Hi welcome, I'm Margaret."

"I'm Tommy."

"And I'm Hannah, i'm seven years old. Guess what you will get to share a room with me. Just like my big sister. She's gone to where you're from."

"I'll get dinner started, will you please take Anne to her room and get her settled."

"Of course." Margaret said.

They led her to the room. "This is your bed."

"I'm right over there!" Hannah said excitedly.

"She knows Hannah. This is the oil lamp, turn the nob right to increase the flame and make it brighter turn it left to dim it and turn off."

Anne smiled at Hannah as she explored her guest room, listening to the information Margaret gave her. Before Margaret left, Anne came to ask her a question. "Is it possible for me to be given a tour of this house?"

They arrived at the Thatcher family's house, which was quite large actually. William brought Alexandra's bags to her guest room, which she would share with no one, it was near the rooms of William and Claire.

Mrs. Thatcher went to prepare dinner while Mr. Thatcher sat down at his desk and began reading reports, he was after all a Member of Parliament. William and Claire helped Alexandra unpack, William studied Alexandra for a brief moment as they unpacked.

"Sure, not very big but all right. Well you've seen the room you are in with Hannah. That's also where my older sister sleeps. This is our family room we gather out here for guests and such. The Kitchen,"

"Hi girls." Lillian said

"Should be about now. Dinner ready yet ma?"

"Just about you take a seat at the table."

Anne nodded and went with Margaret to the dinner table, taking her seat, she sat next to Margaret and Hannah.

"That is quite nice. Also, I can give you a tour..." Before William could finish, Claire interrupted and began to speak to them. "Dinner is ready." Claire said briefly before going back down stairs.

William offered Alexandra a seat beside him and they took their seats, waiting for Mrs. Thatcher to serve dinner. Claire was in the kitchen and Mr. Thatcher later came to the table, having finished reading his reports.

A plate was placed down. "Here you are."

"Alright firied chicken!" Margaret said excitedly.

Claire listened to the others instead of talking while Mr. Thatcher left to go to the kitchen.

"Well it is. But sadly we don't get to see him much. And we aren't sure if he's really a close adivsor to the Princess that's just something our other relatives have told us."

"I am sure he has an alright career." Anne said to the others before looking at Margaret. "What is it like? It is quite alright, I live in a town, not a city. My hometown is quite small but really it is nice." Anne began to say, describing the town she lived in.

"If we wake up early enough I can show you around the rest of the farm." Margaret said

"Anne, you will get first dibs on the bath tonight, cause you're a guest." Hannah said.

"Ice Cream, how wonderful."

"Sure right this way." She led her back to the bathroom. "Here you are. It can be pretty tricky so I'll show you. Just step over here, make sure a fire is burning in the pit bellow, unless you want a cold bath. Fire, good. Now lift the handel and the water comes out nice and hot. When the tub is full just put the handel back down, and it can get stuck sometimes so don't worry just get Pa and he'll mucel it down. Soap and shampoo right up there on the window ledge, as well as a washcloth."

Anne thanked Margaret for showing her the bathroom and took her bath, she made the water warm and was able to take her bath without any problems. After a while, she came out with wet hair and some new clothes.

Everyone in the family had washed up Hannah had come into the room, "Hey roomie!" She said with glee. Margaret came in. "Hey just popping in, Hannah apparently asked I tuck her in. One more thing, Kurona is prone to stormy weather 24/7 so don't be suprised if you are shooken awake by loud thunder. In some cases by one of us needing to run to the storm cellar."

"Don't scare her Margaret."

"Come on Hannah you know as well as I do it's true. But tornado season is almost over so I doubt you will have to worry. I don't mean to frighten you or anything just want you to be ready. Night Hannah, night Anne, sleep tight."

Tommy came in soon. "Hey good night. Ma and pa want you Margaret."

"All right."

Margaret went into her parents room. "You wanted me?"

"Well Anne is new here she doesn't know anyone and she'll be going to a new school..." Lillian stated

"I know Madison and Lee and me will make sure she get's around all right. I think she'll like Lee."

"Keep your eye on her."

"Tomorrow, I will show you around some more." William said to Alexandra with a smile. "Good night and have a good sleep." William said before leaving to go to the kitchen to get a quick drink.

The night came and went. Margaret woke Anne up. "Hey good morning."

When the morning came, Alexandra woke up to see someone beside her. "Good morning, breakfast is ready." Claire said to Alexandra.

"Yep it is. Before school I'll show you around the farm."

Mrs. Thatcher served everyone an "full English breakfast" and served herself some English breakfast tea. As they ate, William looked at Alexandra. "Later today I will show you around the house, if we have not already."

Margaret led her outside. "Well this is our whole farm, the our crop of corn over there, it's almost harvest time. Two years ago a hail storm took out our wheat crop. Over here is our Barn, come on in. Our many horses and sheep too though we'll probably sell them at the end of the year. This horse here we call him George. Say hi..." The horse neighed. "Attaboy, I think he likes you." The hey loft up there, some times Pa will clear it out and my freinds or my brother and sisters sleep out up there." She led them out and around the house. They made it into town and to school .

"Hi can I help you kids?"

After Alexandra finished her breakfast she was escorted to school. "What a school, It seems as big as my school.

"You'll go to the office they'll give you a schedual."

"I'd be happy to show you to the office Ms. Anne." Lee said

"It's settled. Let's go or we'll be late."

Back in LB it was completly opposite. Bright and sunny and warm.

Anne had been in her room, fixing up the dress she was to wear on her date. She had just made some more improvements before grabbing her bonnet and slowly walking downstairs, Anne was a bit nervous but she tried to hide it. When Anne could be seen, Margaret's face lit up with envy and a bit of jealousy while Lee was so amazed, he could barely speak. Anne smiled and looked at Lee. "You look very nice tonight."

"It has been amazing, this country is so rich in history and tradition, so diffrent from home. I tend to forget I have a lamp with a light bulb. I'm so used to lantern. And I'm so used to small town and farm life. Quite overwhelming." She laughed. "But I'm getting better with your language."

They left the busy dance hall. Outside the storm worsend, and now the worst case scenario was about to happen. A full tornado had spawned from the wicked weather, and no one was aware of it.

"I hope you've had a nice time tonight. We may be stuck here a while though, untill this clears up." They had chatted for a bit longer and they almost moved in for a kiss but a deafaning roar and the violent shaking of the building threw them off. "Oh my...." Lee instinctively threw Anne to the floor and huddled against the wall, he coverd her using him self as sheild against any debries.

"Last night during a school dance a tornado of F2 strength tore through town and half the school, including both farms of which Anne and you have switched from. Now we are still awating final confirmation from the Royal Kuronan Government but so far as we can tell there have been no deaths."

Will was amazed and concerned for his sister. "Hopefully Anne is alright." The entire family was amazed and concerned, and so was Alexandra, whose concern was also for her family.

"Your majesty, the embassy hasn't responded with word form the Government of LB."

"I should visit there. Make sure. I wan't my carriage out by tonight."

"Careful there is rubble everywhere." Lee cautioned Anne. He often would help her over piles of it. But fortunatley most of the hallway was clear.

"It's odd, I didn't even hear the sirens go off."

"They better be doing something." Will said as he listened to Alexandra voice her concern. The visitor, Alexandra and the Thatcher family spent some more time discussing things. They were all still mostly amazed that this all happened.

The LB Embassy in Kurona began to study the news about the tornado and sent a message to the Kurona Government, saying that work needed to be done concerning this event. However, they did prepare for a possible visit from Tomoyo.

Anne nodded as they went through the rubble. Soon, they saw Margaret in the rubble. They ran to her and tried to see if she was alright. Concern was starting to fill Anne.

"Margaret, come on you're burried underneath all this rubble." Both him and Anne digged her out and stood her up. She was bleeding from her forehead and cheek. Lee tore his sleeve and wrapped it around her head. "There that will do you for a little. We need to get to the gym Margaret."

"Yeah fine."

"I think she'll be all right. She's in a bit of shock."

Anne carefully helped Lee with Margaret, she looked injured but they were sure she would be alright. Anne and Lee took Margaret to the gym and stayed with her there. "Thank goodness Margaret's injuries are not worse." Anne thought to herself as she sat beside Margaret with Lee, it seemed people were starting to move around again. Some people were like Margaret, injured but not horribly.

The ambassador of LB to Kurona looked at Tomoyo as she came into his office. He stood and bowed and then looked at his royal visitor with calmness. "I trust you have heard of the tornado?" he said, holding reports in his hands.

Tomoyo bowed as well. "Yes Mr. Ambassador, I have been made aware. And it was also brought to my attention that a student of your country was in the destruction path of tornado. The Army and the Royal Guard are already deployed to retrieve the survivors, and help any injured. I hope to Kami ( Shinto term for God(s)) that everyone including the student here on visit, will be all right. Thank goodness it wasn't worse. At this point we believe it to have been of F strength, which would be the same if you use the EF rating scale. You can assure your educational offices, that we are doing everything we can."

At long last after dodging debris, caved in walls and so many other hazards they came back to the gym. The gym was well intact ironically when a gym is the worst possible place to be in a tornado. Those who could help, did. Trying to give comfort to everyone. Many were crying and many were hurt. No one was dead which was the silver lining. Allison was also busy helping everyone she could. "There you are!" She said with relief. "We have been worried about all of you. Thank goodness. Mr. Anderson, our unaccounted for people have come back!"

Anderson a teacher marked down their names. Allison sat them against a wall and handed them blankets. "They want to make sure the weather is clear, though it may be likely this will be a shelter for anyone who lost their home in the twister." Allison said. "Sorry, Anne, probably not the best memory you will leave Kurona with. This is the first time in years this town has been hit by a tornado. Anyway, I better go and make sure everyone else is okay."

Allison left to make more rounds. Margaret fell asleep just as the staff began to treat her wounds. "Are you okay?" Lee asked to Anne. He wanted to try to calm her.

Anne studied her surroundings, seeing many people crying and injured but luckily no one was deceased. She looked around for a brief moment more before she looked at Lee. "I am alright, shaken but alright." Anne said as she looked to see Margaret being treated. Anne decided to just stay where she was for now.

"Yeah I understand." Lee sympathetically responded. Again out of pure habit he put his arm around her and brought her close (A traditional dating custom) to comfort her. He bet she really wanted her mother and father right now. Everyone did, Lee did as well. It would be difficult for anyone to get here. But the Guard finally Arrived. Along with the military at it's side. The Guard were the Body Guards of the Princess, and they were trained in just about every aspect. You never know when you have to pull a prince or princess from wreckage. They had a cart full of supplies and began to lead people the school gym. The sky was clear now, so unlikely of any repeat storms or tornadic families. "Excuse me, are you the Administrator of this school?"

"No sir." Mr. Anderson said. "I'm in charge of the school dance, and in light of the emergency situation, in charge of safety."

"I see. We are looking for an Anne Thatcher, she's an exchange student from Latin Byzantines."

Anderson took a look at the role sheet. "Yes she's accounted for. I'm afraid I don't know her though."

"That's all right." He stood up and called out. "Is there an Anne Thatcher here? Anne Thatcher, Byzantines Student Number T-57."

"Good, young lady you have a lot of people worried about you. If you will please follow me."

He led her to a private area that was tented off for just the rescue personal.

"This is a satellite phone. You can call your parents and let them know you are safe." He picked up the phone entered the special codes needed. He handed it back to her and let her dial her home phone number.

The Thatcher family, especially Anne's mother were relieved and glad to hear Anne had been alright. When Alexandra was crying, Will went to embrace her, trying to comfort her as best he could. Suddenly, the phone rang and Mrs. Thatcher ran to pick it up. Everyone got a chance to talk to Anne, even though Mrs. Thatcher spent most of the time trying to see if Anne was ok, even if Anne said it repeatedly that she was.

After Anne was finished with the phone, she looked at the soldier and thanked him for letting her contact her family.

Sping had faded out into Summer. The town, the school, the farm all were rebuilt after the tornado. Anne wouldn't leave empty handed though, working the feilds with her host family for the day, her last day. Margaret was pretty apologetic for forcing Anne to work, though Anne didn't seem to mind. Well the big day had arrived, time to switch back. Everyone was giving their tearful goodbyes, exchanging adresses to mail each other back and forth. Lee suddenly darted to the docks "Anne, I almost missed you. Anne, I-I don't know where to begin, I met you that spring morning, I didn't know how I would react but I just have felt something special about you." He grabed her by the chin and looked directly into her eyes. "Just rember where you go, I love you Anne Thatcher." He kissed her, for the first time since they met. A flood of memories rushed through his head.

Anne was amazingly surprised to see Lee grabbing her, by her chin, and then giving her a kiss. She stood there amazed and did not know what to say until she decided to speak. "Lee, I did not know you felt about me like that." Anne said with a smile. "I admit I have some feelings for you too. You are a pretty nice person." Anne said farewell to her host family and friends and then went to the airport, where she would head back to LB.

Will smiled at Alexandra and called her over before she left for the airport. Smiling at her, he gave her a kiss unexpectedly, it seemed his emotions and feelings just overwhelmed him. He became a bit nervous as he apologized a bit for what he did, but said that: "Know that I love you, Alexandra McKnight."

They gave each other a final kiss and then Alexandra went off to Kurona and in a few days both students were back in their homelands, telling their families stories about what they did and who they met. Letters were sent back and forth swiftly and fervently. Alexandra was relieved to see Margaret was alright and the Thatcher family was pleased to see Anne was alright too.

Here is my idea for a new RP:
The Thatcher family decides to visit Kurona for a family vacation. During the vacation, the family meets Alexandra's family and old relationships are kindled, especially Will and Alex's romance. Also, Lee begins his plans to court Anne when he runs into her as she is playing tennis (just a thought) at a Kurona tennis court....maybe she could be with Tomoyo even?
