BL consul relinquishes emergency powers

http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/40491000/jpg/_40491185_frattinicloseup_body_ap.jpg

Consul Alistair Davidson has officially relinquished the emergency powers granted to him under the National Exigency Act of 2010.

Powers were originally granted as ViZion launched a deadly chemical attack upon the capital of Kensington.

However, with the expectation of peace, and with a desire to rebuild the nation's tattered image, the Consul hopes that terminating the powers will not only be a gesture of good faith, but a way to restore the perception of BL as a democratic nation.

No comment has been released from the Londinian government as of yet, though a press conference is scheduled to occur after negotiations with ViZion.

On behalf of the Prestonian people, I would like to commend Consul Davidson for his willingness to relinquish the emergency powers vested in him by the National Exigency Act of 2010. I believe that this is the first step towards normalized relations with the portions of the world that recent actions have alienated. However, it is the next step that is the most pivotal and perhaps the hardest for the consul. We request that Consul Sir Alistair Davidson surrender himself in good order to the interim coalition government in Cazelia for trial. The actions sanctioned by the Consul were heinous and must be tried and punished. Only when the Consul has met justice, in my opinion, will the great name of British Londinium be cleared.

Respectfully yours,
President Aaron H. Preston

We request that Consul Sir Alistair Davidson surrender himself in good order to the interim coalition government in Cazelia for trial.

We also request this, though not necessarily for trial, at least for examination. We hope that Consul Davidson makes the right choice, lest the Tribunal be forced to subpoena him.
