Introducing the Coalition (FT intro)
the vast depth of space was a true spectacle. Admiral Informus walked down the hall of the SCS Blinding Fury. it was the largest ship ever made by the Coalition. he walked through the barracks, and the Coalition marines saluted him. he loved it, being the leader of the 33rd Alpha Centauri battlefleet, being saluted every time he entered the barracks. the ship was nearly 4 miles long, and boasted 12 MAC guns, 4 nuclear missile tubes and 8 fighter bays. a message was sent to all planets with radio-
We are the Coalition. we seek new allies and trade partners. our population is about 850 million. our homeworld is Alpha Centauri. we have several alien species that help us. we extend our hand towards the universe in hopes of a better life for the people of the Universe

The message reached the Commissariat of Science, which sent out a science vessel with this message:
"Coalition forces, this is the XC-1403, science vessel from the Workers State of New Dornalia. We are a large, prosperous, multicultural civilization, centered around Earth--or rather, one of many. Though we sound communist, we follow an indigenous system known as MacIntyreist Socialism, after our leader. It is a democratic system that actually permits quite a high degree of economic freedom and personal liberty. But I digress. We too have several alien species that help us. We would like to talk to you, and maybe build good, fruitful relations."

The Republic offers the Coalition the title of Protectorate. We offer trade rights, open boarders, and military protection. All we ask in return is that you allow Republican businesses, and other organisations to set up shop within your nation and a small annual tribute of a thousand Universal Standard Dollars to cover the costs of maintaining the protective forces we will station within your boarders to protect you. Incase you have fears of a take over, rest assured, we shall not interfere with the government of your nation on any level, and you shall remain firmly independant from the Republic unless you so choose otherwise.
