Magonis, Southern Continent Ash-Waste, forward defence line

"Have you found it yet?", The vox-caster answered with static, "I repeat have you found it yet?", again more static with a slight hint of background whine, "Have you found it yet?", this time.... static, "By the Throne! answer me damnit!", The vox-caster blurted out a response of stactic to this insult.
Guardsman Henrik swore the accused thing was taunting him,and with a very annoyed grunt he kicked the Throne damned thing. This time it answered with a voice.

"..peat, we hav....found the ob..ctive, ..t.r.ing n.w." Henrik kicked the caster again for good measure and started increasing the band-width.
"repeat, we have found the objective, returning now."
That's better. Henrik laid back in his chair nursing his now luke-warm cup of caffine. He was glad he was in the bunker halfway between the northen command post, Three hundred meteres away, and the munitions post, two hundred meteres away to the south. Between here and them places was naught but connecting trenches zig-zaging away where everyone was open to the foul razor-winds and the chill.

The 31st Regiment of the Death Korps of Krieg uniformaly wear Adamantium bowl-helmets, Mark XI Rebreathers, A thick Trenchcoat reinforced with Flak armour over their uniforms and big black jackboots. Most Gaurdsmen carry the standard mk 2 lasguns (Which actually look a lot more like an ancient bolt-action slug thrower) although a least one man in each ten man squad will have either a grenade launcher or a flamer. None of this really mattered to Henrik, he was just happy he was in the bunker out of the winds with a cup of caffine, hot or cold.

Ash-Waste command, city of Lectia

Command HQ had been set up in the principle city of Lectia, Lectia was built in a natural hollow in the Alpate mountain range with the only way in towards the city fortified by the Korps. The city contains the Temple of the Beati, The shrine of Macharius as well as various statues of imperial heroes like Warmaster Slaydo, The Beati St Sabbat and even, the most important, a statue of the Primarch Corax, one of the God-Emperors sons himself.

The command complex itself was a newly constructed network of reinforced bunkers, trenches, landing pads, munition dumps, vehicle pools, habi-tents, mess halls and so on built into The Beati's square infront of the Beati's temple.

Reiksmarshal Klaus, overall commander of the Korps forces on the planet, was busy examaning the latest in a large pile of dataslates on his desk. Why the archenemy would even consider coming to this abysmal place was beyond him but it is not for a loyal servant of the God-Emperor to question, only to follow. He put down the dataslate for now and walked out into the command chamber. The chamber was a bustle of activity. Senior officers and tacticians were clustered around the chart-desk mumbling and poking at the holo-picts, Banks of cogitators lined the walls with Tech adepts bustling around giving benedictions to the Omnissiar, High Gain Vox-casters chattering away with sentry reports and orders. Reiksmarshal Klaus walked to his senior tactitian.
"Ludwig, report!"

"The 31st regiment is spread out over the forward trenches, The 3rd, 8th and 54th Panzer regiments are spreadout amongst them and dug-in. The 28th artillary division has set up here behind the centre bunker complex on the forward line and the 2nd light artillary have spreadout across the defense line. Companys of all regiments are kept in reserve at the second defence line here. Pioner teams are currently setting up minefields, tank traps, razor wire and other obstacles both infront and behind of the line."

"Good, keep me informed of progress."

"Let us in you gak!"

Henrik walked over and opened the bunker door. Imediatly the ambient temperature dropped by at least ten degrees. Two more Guardsman ran in just before Henrik slammed the door shut.

"Well, did you get it?" he asked.

"Sure did, one vintage bottle of Amasec straight from the Captains private store." replied the first Guardsman.

"Well dont just stand there, crack it open and share it out!"
[NS]Damnations Reign

Entering the system at the edge, an armada of ships drifted towards Magonis. There seemed to be no order or formation to the mass of dark ships, except they seemed to be attached to the central ship by some invisible connection. The central ship was beyond huge, humongous veins of gold and silver had grown across its surface, they sat there slowly pulsing as though alive. Faded almost to the point of unreadability were the words "Damnation's Reign" on the hull.

It had been some time, the fleet had drifted slowly towards Magonis, the formations had changed slightly as ships drifted slowly on diagonal courses around the central ship. As they got closer it was possible to make out Imperial ships clustered near Magonis.

In Orbit of Magonis, On Boad the Flagship Rammstein

The Bridge of the Rammstein could only be described as caniverous. Stretching away upwards with many tiers of sensors, astropaths, cogitators and such. The vast floor space of the bridge was broken up by trailing wires and cables, most of which are as thick as an Astartes arm in full battle plate. Scattered around the command tier are the sections dedicated to the smooth running of a ship. The secondary sensorium, the main taking up an entire tier further up, The vox nest, the astropathic choir, the navigators cloister, the gunnery masters station and the enginerium console, pluged into which were several tech priests and an adept. In the centre of all this raised slightly above all else was the Command throne.

Sat upon the Command throne was Fleet-captain Venkatrie. No longer a man as such, Venkatrie was a torso and a head plugged into the ship permanatly. Through the cuffs and waist of his Dress uniform jacket snaked cables and wires connecting him to the ship in every way possible. Large data-jacks and cables enter the back of his skull and are hard wired into his brain stem and nervous system. Extra sensitive Mirco-filament wires snake in through his eye sockets and insert themselves into his occular nerve to display tactical readouts, reports and all manner of data directly onto his retina. Right now a symbol was blinking in the lower left of his vision signaling that the sensourium wanted to report.

"Master of sensors report" His voice came out loud but dry and monotone due to the vox processor replacing his throat.
"Fleetcaptain, the sensourium has detected a large group of ships headed towards the planet, they do not display an imperial code on the sensor net. There appears to be no actual formation to the ships, just a curious way of all the smaller ships grouping around the largest one." came the Sensor masters reply.
"Open Vox to the fleet."

This is the Fleetcaptain, we have incoming ships not displaying imperial codes. At the moment it is not clear weather they are in fact the Archenemys fleet we were warned of or just a group of Xenos, right now I dont really care. All ships are to form up on the Rammstein, all ships capable of launching torpedos are to do so on a wide spread and then all ships are to launch fighter screens. The Emperor Protects

"Fire torpedos, Launch fighter screen, prep the bomber crews, unmask the guns and make ready, charge the void shields and when the other ships are in formation All ahead full!" Venkatrie could feel the power coursing through his very existance as the flagships weapons came to power. He felt the void shields as a electrical field over the skin of his hull plating. He physically shuddered as the massive ship to ship torpedoes launched. He changed the readouts on his retina to focus on the space infront of the ships, the space where he would bring victory and glory to the Imperial Navy in the Emperors name.
