Novadyne Engineering and General Defense Industries have joined forces to offer special defense systems for rising modern nations of sufficient political and social character and private collectors. We have revisited successful designs that helped establish the modern military era and improved them with the latest Information Age systems for the warfighter.

Our introductory offer returns to the beginning of strategic aerial warfare, an age where the aircraft shined as silver as the hopes of their nation... while they carried the deadliest weapons known to man at that time. The B-58 Hustler was an amazing aircraft and the first American high speed jet bomber capable of speeds greater than Mach 2. Despite its reputation for being a hangar queen, the Hustler was beloved by its flight crews and was amazingly swift. Its climb rate when lightly loaded was comparable to the fighters of its day. The B-58's classic lines and sometimes controversial history make it a perfect choice for the opening of this product line.

B-58EX "Super Hustler" Tactical Fighter-Bomber

Postmodern Anachronisms has improved on the original design by modifying its aerodynamics and control surfaces with more versatile, lighter, and stronger designs. We call this the B-58EX "Super Hustler" and offer it as a tactical fighter-bomber for growing air forces. All-moving canards have been installed to improve low-speed handling and maneuverability, especially for takeoff and landing. The three-man crew has been reduced to two in tandem, thanks to the incorporation of an advanced battle management computer that does most of the work controlling the navigation and tactical radars, LIDAR, communications, and emissions. The pilot is responsible for controlling the aircraft and combat maneuvering, while the weapons systems operator is responsible for navigation and payload delivery.

The aft-mounted cannon of the B-58 was deemed superfluous at high speed and omitted. Instead, the Super Hustler is armed with four all-aspect AIM-132 ASRAAM air-to-air missiles for self-defense and one AGM-165 "Nighthawk" high-speed weapons delivery vehicle. The "Nighthawk" is a special long-range delivery system for eight Low Cost Autonomous Attack System submunitions. Upon release from the carrier aircraft, a rocket motor propels the Nighthawk to Mach 4 as it descends to conduct terrain and radar avoidance. Once in the area of operations, the rocket motor cuts out and a high-efficiency turbofan kicks in. The Nighthawk releases its LOCAAS submunitions to independently seek and destroy their targets with the warhead of the mission planner's choice. Once primary targets are destroyed, the Nighthawk itself sends bomb damage assessment information back over a secure satellite comm link to headquarters. It then selects the highest value target remaining in the area of operations for a direct kinetic kill. If no targets remain, the Nighthawk self-terminates in a location selected for the least probability of enemy recovery.

The B-58EX has an engine nacelle arrangement that is actually derived from early concept configurations of the original Hustler. Four quantum nucleonic high-efficiency engines with pulse detonation tube turbochargers fed by bypass airflow allow the Super Hustler to have comparable speed to the original while having vastly improved range and loitering time, ultimately limited by the thermal fatigue tolerances of the engine materials. Composite materials are used throughout the Super Hustler to reduce structural fatigue and electromagnetic emissions to levels comparable to modern combat aircraft.

Our research indicates that your nation is of sufficient capitalist and democratic traditions to be entrusted with such hardware and that your nation is economically stable enough to afford it. Postmodern Anachronisms is very pleased to have Calizorinstan as the launch customer for the B-58EX Super Hustler. The transaction is officially approved. With our current manufacturing capacity, we can deliver 90 airframes per NS year over a five-year period. Any software upgrades in the intervening period will be retroactively applied to delivered airframes under our service guarantee. As the launch customer, Calizorinstan will also be entitled to ten static airframes for testing and evaluation - free of charge.

The managing boards of Novadyne Engineering and General Defense Industries have expressed concern over your country's crime problem and policies restricting private enterprise. We do not wish these airframes to fall into the black market where they might be used against friendly nations. What guarantees can your government offer that the B-58EX will not be used in aggression or re-sold for illicit profit? We may be capitalists, but we do have a sense of ethical responsibility.

Further research indicates that your regional leader has actually banned the use of the words "private" and "enterprise" from being used together. Our investigators came across this when searching for someone who might vouch for your nation's integrity. We cannot approve in good conscience a transaction that might lead to our designs being used to help a nation that enforces such a draconian policy of anti-capitalist censorship.

As with Jimanistan, we are concerned about the lack of private enterprise in your country. However, as the airframes are intended for scientific research and will lack the advanced combat systems, we will proceed with sale. The tactical radar, electronic warfare systems, LIDAR, and support for the "Nighthawk" will be removed. As such, the cost of each airframe will be discounted to USD $9 million per airframe.

B-52EX Airborne Escort Battleship

Fiction authors and real engineers have examined various ways to bring the venerable B-52 Stratofortress into the Information Age. We at Postmodern Anachronisms have decided to offer our own "reimagination" of the BUFF in a manner as faithful to the vision of the past era's fiction authors as possible.

The B-52EX has been rebuilt with a composite, streamlined airframe, new wing structure, twin V-tail stabilators, and four quantum nucleonic engines to give it the strength and power needed today. Four ordnance pods (mounted two to each wing) carry up to four medium-range or six short-range air-to-air missiles each without disrupting airflow over the wings or significantly increasing radar signature.

The cavernous bomb bays in the fuselage have the ability to carry nearly any air-to-ground weapon in a country's arsenal, including our own "Nighthawk" standoff submunition carrier. The aft tail boom contains a comprehensive defensive suite, including a tactical laser designed to blind incoming missiles and multi-spectrum countermeasures launcher.

The B-52EX is ideal for coordinating an air battle group and conducting standoff Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses. With minimal fighter escort (or none, if air supremacy is established), the B-52EX can also conduct direct bombing attacks with even improved reliability over its preceding variants. With a reduction in bomb bay payload by nearly half, we can also build the B-52EXC "fighting command post" version for generals who like to lead from the air. The reduced weapons payload is replaced with an integrated command and control module, a secure communications suite, two additional anti-missile lasers, and modular 3-D AESA battlefield radar.

The Secretary-General of the Autonomous City-states has advised the board of Postmodern Anachronisms against the sale of these weapons to your country because of its violent suppression of political and social dissent. Our own investigation suggests that the airframes and missiles are highly likely to end up being re-sold in your country's vast arms market as a result of institutional corruption, where they might end up sold to parties that would use them against friendly nations.
