SIC:

Rayak, Kampfers

A massive force was moving. Rolling out of the military base in Rayak ((Lebanon)) was 2 brigades. The 143 Armoured Brigade and the 211 Mechanized Infantry Brigade. They were moving at top speed, rolling towards the Syrian border. They would hit the border and shoot straight towards Damascus. Time was of the essence. They had the element of suprise, and they wanted to knock out most of the country before their military had a chance to respond. Meanwhile, Gripens shot through the air overhead. They were headed to the military airbases in Syria. They had orders not to destroy the planes, but rather destroy the runways.

Quobaiyat, Kampfers

Here, the brunt of the military was moving. Three divisions were moving out at all speed. Once they hit the Syrian border, they would go for Tartus. Speed was of the essence to them as well.

Colonel Abdul Raheem boarded the C-130 aircraft last, as was the custom for an Airborne Infantry Officer. The Officer is always the last one in to make sure everyone boarded correctly, and the first one out of the aircraft to inspire his men's courage. Today would be no different. Two Saudi Airborne Battalions, the 4th and 5th, would be paradropping south of Ar Raqqah, a large Syrian City in the North Eastern part of the country. Simetaneously the second Motorised Infantry Brigade would cross the border from Iraq and advance on Al-Hasakah, another large city along a junction of three rivers.

The First Infantry Division crossed from Fallujah and into Syria quickly as well, to support the taking of Dayr az Zawr and reinforce the Paratroopers there. Meanwhile, the 9th Mechanized Division was supporting the 2nd Motorised in Ar Raqqah.

The Saudi "King Fah'd" Armor Brigade would push up along with the 15th, 16th, and 10th Infantry Brigades, as well as the 18th MLRS Missile Brigade. These, in coordination with the First through forth Royal Jordanian Light Infantry Brigades would seize and hold Damascus and all surrounding towns until the rest of the country could be pacified.

The Wanderjarian Airforce launched several F-15 and other bomber squadrons to engage enemy aircraft on the ground, and hit key military installations and hopefully disable as much enemy hardware as humanly possible before it could harm the war effort.

The war would be over within sevety-two hours. That was the Military High Command's estimate.

2 Miles off the Coast of Latakia, Syria

The GDINC-PF Naval Flotilla sat off the coast of the bustling port city and readied itself for the attack. With firing solutions added into the missiles, the two Slava-Class cruisers began to make the final adjustments for missile launch. On the Kirov, the two Yak-141's were refueled, rearmed, and ready for battle. The five Ka-52B's did the same and prepared for attack.

The Yak-141's took off and along with the Ka-52's headed for the bustling port. Flying low to the water, the Yak-141's engaged their lift fans, allowing them to hover abover the water as they began to fire AShM's at the vessels docked in port, trying to block the entrance trapping the majority of the vessels in the harbor. The Ka-52's began to fire away at port facilities, especially the police station in-port, in an attempt to stave off a heavy resistance.

Out at the Flotilla, the Cruisers and Battlecruiser began to fire missiles and guns at the inner industrial sector of the city while three destroyers and five frigates broke off and moved in towards the harbor, firing their 76mm and 155mm guns at the port facilities and nearby buildings. A missile was fired off at a bridge crossing the port, ripping a massive hole in the roadway causing a few cars to fall through. The battle for Lataika had started, and if the other two aggressors went as quickly and violently as the Flotilla did, the invasion would be over in no time.

Latakia

The Yak-141's flew up towards the Southern Coastal Batteries and began their assault run. FFAR pods were emptied on the guns and launchers in an attempt to knock out as many of the units as possible. The Ka-52's went to the Northern one's to try to do the same thing.

Meanwhile, at the Flotilla, incoming missile alerts were showing on all ships which engaged the CIWS systems. Thousands of DU rounds spurted out from the assorted guns of the ships at the incoming missiles, blowing up many of them in mid-air. A destroyer was nailed in the bow, destroying one of its 100mm cannons and creating a gaping hole in the deck. The Battlecruiser suffered damage from a missile explosion just off its stern and another near-hit above its tower.

The order was made to deploy the 5,000 man Naval Infantry Brigade onto the city shore split up into two Regiments. Their main objective was to take out any Coastal Defense and AA Battery that the air support missed. The landing boats were loaded up with men, as were the four Mil Mi-14 Haze Assault Transports on the boat, and took off.

OOC: 1, the coastal missiles aren't going to affect me. 2, you really mean to tell me your whole air force just took off? Some of those are halfway, hell, the whole way across the country from me and have no chance of sotpping me. Other ones, nearer me, would have already had their runways bombed. Then, i would fight the small remnant. Which is what I plan to do.

IC:

The pilot of the lead Gripen checked his radar. "Incoming MiGs. Fall into position."

"Roger that." The other Gripens fell out in formation with him. Their planes were far more advanced, and they were already getting locks.

"This is Foxtrot One. I have a lock on the lead incoming MiG. Missile one away."

"This is Foxtrot Two. Lock acquired on second MiG. Wingtip missile away."

"This is Foxtrot Three. Lock acquired. Firing missile." Something jammed in the wingtip pylon. The missile did not go out, rather, blew up, devestating the plane. The pilot died on explosion.

"SHIT!" Screamed the pilot next to him. "I'm on fire! Using extinguisher. He pulled a small lever. The flames went out. Damn, thought I was a goner."

The Gripens used their superior weaponry and range to fire at the MiGs before the MiGs had a chance to do the same.

OOC: He's right, Hezbollah is a Lebanese organization.

IC:

The Wanderjarian Aircraft engaged the inferior MiGs wherever they found them. They had numbers, skill, and superior equipment on their side, thus the enemy was in all ways the under dog in this fight. Missiles fired from beyond visual range barked across the sky towards their unfortunate targets, and ZSU-Shilka units covered the skies above the Armored Divisions which they were intertwined with.

The Wanderjarians advanced on Damascus, hitting hard all airfields on the outskirts of the city with T-90 Main Battle Tanks. Aircraft taking off were destroyed and the pilots attempting in vain to board other grounded aircraft were cut down by coaxial machine guns. Infantry units would then secure the airfields and eliminate any and all resistance. There was no mercy.

The MRLS and SCUD units fired thousands of missiles into the city, targeting Government and military positions and supported by hundreds of Howitzer units which pounded the enemies positions as well. Once thoroughly shelled, rocketed, and other wise pummeled, the Armored and Infantry divisions would advance into the city and dispatch any resistance to Wanderjarian and Kampferian rule.

In Port Yorkbere

OOC: Next time, tell how many you fire.

IC:

"Sir, Radar at the border shows incoming missiles."

"Well, activate Hetz!"

"Right away sir."

Hetz activated quickly. The expensive Arrow missiles shot out of their firers. 3 missiles get through, causing the deaths of 13 military personell, and causing the death of 34 civilians.

Damascus

OOC: In your ORBAT all you had at Damascus was "Republican Guard Division (Damascus)(200 T-72)." This is in fluid time and you would not be able to move extra troops there so fast. So all I am going to RP you having is that one division. I see where you thought there might be more in Dmascus, because it says 1st Corps (HQ-Damascus). However, that means their Headquarters are in Damascus. That is where their generals stay. The troops themselves are in the cities next to their names.

IC:

The Kampferian Troops moved quickly to Damascus. Stopping a short way out, their artillery began pounding the city. When the Wanderjarian troops began to move in, so did the Kampferians. USing a combination of Blitzkreig and Raze tactics, they moved through the outskirts demolishing all military units in sight. They left hangars intact, but destroyed runways.

In the Air

Air superiority had come quickly. There were a few MiGs left, but a few more missiles were discharged, taking care of that. The Gripens began shooting chaff and making white noise to hopelessly fry the radar for SAM sites. They then swooped down over the city, dispatching cluster bombs on groupings of military personell and on runways.

The same was true with the Planes nearing Tartus. They used the same electronic countermeasures. They first bombed the exit of the Tartus harbor. A building collapsed and fell into the sea, blocking in the navy from escaping. Cluster bombs were shot at groupings of military personell, mainly tanks, and at runways.

Tartus

OOC: This is what you say you have at Tartus on your ORBAT, and what I will RP against. "Independent Infantry Brigade (Tartus), Coastal defence missile brigade (Tartus)(12 P-15 Termite launchers,C-802 w/50 missiles))

IC:

The Three Kampferian divisions pulled up short of Tartus. They rolled out the M109A5's and began pounding the defensive emplacements around the city. M270 MLRS's rolled up, firing Project-T missiles into the city's defenses.

OOC: Damn, can't wait 'til I get those exploding missiles!

"It should be over quickly sir, though the Syrians are heavily armed and prepared I doubt they will stand against the battle hardened legions of Wanderjar or the armies arrayed against them." The Palace of Waldenburg was actually quite a small affair consisting of barely a hundred rooms, finely furnished yes, but hundreds of aristocrats had better. In the one room no one else had George Patrin looked over display screens, saw the information, private information of his country passing before his eyes. From here he could rule his country, not with force but with information, and he also kept a tight eye of the Syrian debacle.

"Should we intervene, the POG once victorious will be in prime striking distance of Waldenburg ans share a massive border." Patrin asked dreamily as he padded over to a chair in the corner away from the rolling screens.

"No sir we cannot, though our armies are quite up to the task of fighting anyone nation, we would be overwhelmed, especially by GrĂ¼nder and their lot." An aide wearing the traditional green robes of the Senate strode beside Patrin and occasionally glanced at one of the screens. "Though suprise would be on our side, especially as the POG think us not a threat after the GAN signing, but that advantage would soon give way to the millions of men storming our border."

"Thought as much," Patrin plopped himself down and pulled a small computer tablet and stylus out of the wall. "Then we will do the next best thing and see the The POG will never sleep peacefully again."

"Yes your excellency."

Waldeburg Official Policy Announcement:

Due to the ongoing crisis in Syria five divisions of Infantry supported by armored brigades will take up positions on the border between Waldenburg and Syria. They will secure the area and contain the fighting to the combatants. But in the spirit of the GAN we will also open are borders to any refugees seeking asylum from the violence south of us. Anyone and everyone is welcome, and will be protected against persecution and violence in the Waldneburg Republic. Though we do not approve of this war we will also be sending a team of Army medics to assist with any casualties on either side, and watch the war for any Military Law violations.

OOC We welcome the Syrian government and all their little helpers into the country. Waldenburg leases them some land, at amazingly low prices and tells them to get to whatever they want.

Now the delightful part about me arming these Syrians is, being apart of RL NATO almost all of my military equipment is manufactured in the west and the majority in the US. Now I'm not much for the guess into the future game but who is far more likely to be arming Syrian terrorists? The peaceful Waldenburgers who have decreased the size of their military, formed an alliance based on peace and professed faith in what the GOP is doing or the evil Americans who are just generally nasty. Could go either way but if you ever need an reaon for an invasion of me or the US....

Anyway for the armaments:
200 M60 Pattons
400 M113
12,000 M16's
22,000 HK 33's
Generally large amounts of grenade and explosives, chemicals, WP, the basics. Bot very much but better then most insurgents.

As per my post in the IC thread I will be gone for a week but when I come back I would really enjoy Rping group of Syrian terrorists, if that's ok OLHM, it always sounded fun.

IC:

In Kampferian Syria, rebuilding was beginning. Latakia had been hard hit, and would be the focus of the constrution. Tartus was also undergoing some rebuilding. While most of the Syrian ground forces had escaped, nearly half of the air force had been trapped on the ground due to their destroyed runways. As such, Kampfers and Wanderjar had captured 50 MiG 23's, 67 MiG 21's, and 30 MiG 29's. They had also nabbed 20 Su 22's and 10 Su 24's. It was not uncommon to see a Merkava or two on patrol in the cities. While terrorists were expected, it was also expected that the presence of the tanks would deter them. Not to mention the Mossad, which was already working in the shadows.

SIC:

No law was unbreakable to the Mossad. They were experts at gathering intelligence and using it to break the enemy. In a dark alley, two agents walked together up to the window of a bakery. The man who owned the store was closing up for the night. No one was around. The agents walked up. They knew who he was from the pictures. A suspected terrorist. They needed to find out who the head man was in his ring.

"Shop's closed, Gentlemen," the baker said as they entered, the bell dinging behind them. He was cleaning the glass on his shelves.

One agent walked up behind him, thrusting his face foward into the glass. The windows shattered, and blood spewed everywhere. "Damn right it is. Who's the head of the terrorist ring? Huh?" He spun the man around, so he was facing him. The gore was striking. The man could hardly see for the blood rushing out of his forehead and into his eyes. His nose was broken, and shards of glass stuck in his cheeks.

"I don't... know," the man said, spewing blood out of his mouth.

"The hell you don't!" the agent said, punching the man in the face. He pulled the glass out of one of the mans cheeks. In response, the man hollered. The pain was excruciating. The agent carried the baker over to one of his ovens and turned on the flame. "Now, don't make me put you in there. Just tell me what I want to know. Who is the head of your terrorist cell?" He bent the man backwards over the open flame so that the man would feel the heat rushing up his back.

The baker broke under the pressure. "All right, all right. I'll tell you what I know. A few days ago, a man came by asking people if they would like to join a resistance group. His name was Maamun Shafiq al-Kuzbari, and he works at the supermarket down the road. I never got to go to the meeting, but I promised to help. al-Kuzbari was their designated recruiter. I don't know who their leader was, but I know that he was planning an operation for Richtoff's speech in Damascus."

The agent smiled, and motioned to his friend who had been standing watch outside that he was done. "Thank you, my brother. You have been a great help." He threw him into the oven and locked it. The baker scremed inside, but there was no escape. The mossad agents cleaned up, and walked out, going back into the alley and disappearing in the shadows.

They reappeared at the temporary police station a few minutes later. "Sir, we have the name of a known terrorist. He is said to know the leader of the cell here. His name is Maamun Shafiq al-Kuzbari. You must arrest him tonight, before the baker's story comes out. Also, there is reason for us to believe the Fuhrer may be in danger. Beef up security at the speech in Damascus, and let us go there to keep an eye out."

The Cheif, who was also in the army, pondered the requests, then approved them all. He tapped a bit on the computer. "Here is the file on al-Kuzbari. Let's see, he works at the supermarket, and he lives at this residence. I am going to dispatch 5 special forces soldiers to his apartment. Good luck, my brothers."

At al-Kuzbari's house, he was sound asleep in bed with his wife. Outside the door, 5 special forces soldiers were waiting for the signal from the two mossad agents, who were bothing hiding micro uzi's under their suit jackets.

"Three... Two... One... GO!" The door was smashed down and the soldiers sprinted into the apartment, rapidly sweeping the rooms looking for danger. al-Kuzbari woke up, as did his wife when the men broke in. He jumped up, but before he could do anything else, a soldier kicked down the door to his room. "On the floor now!" al-Kuzbari did not comply. "Put your hands behind your head and get on the floor!" This time, al-Kuzbari did exactly that. He paused at his knees, and the soldier kicked him onto his face, pointing the gun at his skull. Another soldier ran in and flex-cuffed him. They lead him out, and back to the station. Meanwhile, the mossad agents had swept the apartment and found a small arms stash. This was enough evidence alone to convict the man.

Terrorist Captured, Informant Killed!

Last night, a combination of military units and the mossad raided the house of a terrorist, Maamun Shafiq al-Kuzbari. Inside his house, they found a small stash of weapons and ammunition, which is illegal in Syria for the time. It is suspected that he was a key member of the Syrian resistance.

In a possibly related story, known informant and baker Walid Eido was brutally killed last night. Authorities are searching for clues to the killer, but suspect that the terrorists found out that he was ratting them out and decided to take care of him.
