OOC: As promised, I'm creating a thread for peace talks to end the Tatom Civil War. Let's end this bloodbath.
IC: Presidential Mansion, 1200 Hours Local Time
Pres. Preston had just finished eating his lunch when the phone rang. "Mr. President, I've contacted the nations involved in the war, we just have to wait and see if they come," the voice on the other end of the line said. "Very good, hopefully we can put this war behind us," the president replied. The war had been costly for his country, with 5,000 troops dead, 2,500 missing, and another 10,000 wounded. The public opinion had also turned on him, with PNN News calling him every name under the sun in political debates. But none of that mattered now. All that mattered was getting the warring nations to lay down their guns once and for all. "Vincent," Preston addressed his butler on the intercom, "please prepare the Blue Room for our guests, and tell the chef to prepare appitizers and drinks." "Right away, sir," the butler replied. Preston had drafted a proposal for a treaty that he hoped would go over well with the other delegates. His gut told him that the more drawn out the peace talks were, the less likely it was that wounds would be healed and any lasting peace would be achieved.
