A Change in Monarchs (FT)

OOC: Since my first thread has not come onto the forums, I will post this one.
I am future tech.
Empress Anne I recently passed away, leaving the title of Empress of Carcasonne Seven to her only child, the teenage Princess Anne, who despite her age showed many talents managing a nation among many in the galaxy. Anne was like her mother, quite pretty for her age. One person wrote a description of Anne II.
"Anne was a striking six feet tall presence with a slim buxom figure. She had large grey eyes set in a pleasing oval face, glossy chestnut-brown hair drawn back into a loose knot at the nape of her neck, and small pretty hands and feet."
Anne's head advisor was Patrick "Pat" Reed, the Governor of Darwin IV. Anne had trusted him, he had been her tutor, teaching her a variety of subjects including politics. Anne would not mind meeting with diplomats, even if she was a constitutional monarch, which she was.
The coronation took place at Salisbury Citadel on Darwin IV, which Anne considered her favorite part of the Empire. She was crowned with the Imperial Crown and given all powers of the monarchs before her. Anne II was only eighteen, but hopefully she would be a good monarch.
------------------------
Anne met with Prime Minister Hyde to discuss opening the Empire to diplomacy. A letter was soon written by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and sent to the various nations in the galaxy. It read:
"The Empire of Carcasonne Seven opens the gates for all diplomats to present themselves for meetings in which diplomatic relations shall be discussed. All nations who are interested in diplomacy should contact us for more information."
Prime Minister Hyde then prepared diplomats of Carcasonne Seven to go to other nations if they were required. Anne waited in Darwin IV to hear of any information about diplomatic relations.

Occasionally the galaxy seemed like a very interesting place. There were countless races within its bounds, from wretched xenos races, to the scattered cousins of Mankind. Proud humanity, rightful heirs to the very stars, and here and there they cowered upon worlds, devoid of the wisdom and the might that was rightfully theirs.
From time to time, of course, space-faring civilisations would be found, proud and human, bringing their own touch to the stars, and the worlds that orbed them.
The Imperium was one such entity, sprawling across space, laying claim to worlds and stars in the name of their Gods, and their Emperor. Business prevented him from being upon the homeworld at the reception of the new signal, but his blessing was upon those who did reply.
We have recieved your signal. By the glory of the Master of Mankind, the glorious Emperor Remiel De Drakan, and the might of the Chronosian Imperium, we greet you.
We are heirs of great power, knowledge and technology. The liberators and redeemers of the galaxy, and of all Mankind. We bring the light of the Gods to all the worlds among the stars, and we bring our diplomatic tongues to you.
In the spirit of...Friendship and camraderie....We would know you.

We would appreciate coordinates, that we might set course immediately. Our vessels shall transit through the Immaterium, the Warp, and so their emergence may be a strange phenomenon to you.
It is not to be feared. The Empyrean is the realm of the Gods, through which we travel with impunity. There are a many strange things that you shall see of our most glorious forces.
Unfortunately the Emperor, our Liege-Lord, is unavailable at this time due to matters of direst urgency. In his stead, Chronosian diplomats and representatives shall attend you, that you might be educated as to our glory. The Imperial Truth shall illuminate you, distant brothers.

"You may arrive at Darwin IV, where we shall hold our meeting. Though the Empress is not an absolute monarch, it may be possible for you to meet her, alongside our diplomats of course.
We await the arrival of your vessels and hope that diplomatic relations between us can be constructed and endure future problems."

Then we shall make haste.
Time passed, slowly it would seem in reality but hardly anything by the reckoning of the warp, as the Chronosian message faded into the past. Not yet a memory, but perhaps an ever-present pondering by the people of Carcasonne Seven.
Sebastian Vergath stood upon the gleaming bridge of the Legacy of Damnation, great and gilded. Black steel was edged in gold and gems, hung with extravagant silks. Gleaming sigils blazed upon them, seeming to dance and writhe upon its surface. Servitors sat, slack-jawed and dead-eyed, wired into the very ship.
He pondered for a moment, this new civilisation. They were setting out to bring the light of the Emperor, the glory of the Gods to them. The warp crackled and danced beyond the vast windows of the bridge, a writhing realm of absolute energy. Runes blazed and shone upon the hull, even as the gellar field beyond them strained to hold back the might of the aethyr.
"What do we know about these people we are sent so casually to interact with?" He coughed lightly, raising a hand in a black leather glove to cover his mouth, pausing to reach for an intricate glass goblet filled with wine.
"Very little." A booming voice, rich and cultured, echoed about him as he turned. Long dark hair framed a strong patrician face, riven with pale scars. His armour was a lustrous deep red, marked with portions of black and white. He was Anton Gentyr, Second Captain of the Nero Angelus legion. He was a Space Marine, genetically enhanced and augmented beyond mere men. Almost 3 metres tall, taller than any mere man who stood upon the bridge, he gazed out at the glory of the Immaterium while his tongue flickered over his lips. "We shall merely have to wait and see. My men are at your disposal, diplomat."
"You have my deepest thanks, Brother-Captain." He smiled lightly. "It is an honor to be escorted by such proud warriors, such willing servants of the Gods. Your Lord, the Emperor beloved by all, is a scion of Chaos, the marked of Chaos Ascendant. But you and your men, do you still follow the path of the Prince of Excess?"
"Slaanesh is still our Master. We each fill the Emperor's Palace with wonders that can scarcely be matched, just as we fill our ships with gilded glory and sensation." He smirked cruelly. "We shall keep the truth of our devotions secret for now...But it all depends on how well this new culture recieves us."
"Indeed..." He paused, ready to give voice to another thought when a cold metallic voice boomed over the bridge
"Exiting the Immaterium, we are leaving the Warp."
He gazed out, the universe suddenly shuddering back into focus. The warp exploded outwards around them, pulsing with waves of roaring malice and undulating colour, the crackling gellar field of the ship dancing with residual energy.
"Well...Here we are." Sebastian let a smile crease his features, turning to find it mirrored in Anton's feral sneer. "Let's say hello, shall we?"
This is the Legacy of Damnation, representing the Chronosian Imperium. In the name of the Divine Emperor, True Master of Mankind, we greet you.

It was so pretty. A swirling whirlpool of dark blue and purple. A living painting that allowed faster than light travel, which in turn made civilisations able to communicate with each other beyond the borders of their native star systems. But the mosaic could never last, and the calming colors that danced around the diplomatic cruiser began to fade, the inky blackness of space beginning to take over once again.
Marius sighed. He was a diplomat, not a member of the navy, and so like most Taledonians who didn't spend much time amongst the stars he disliked the dullness of space, preferring the vibrant colors of planets more. Of course if one ever wanted to advance in influence, and pay, he would have to go abroad instead of staying at home.
"By the Gods!" shouted the science officer of the small craft.
Marius cocked an eyebrow at the middle-aged officer, wondering what would give him such distress in this distant system. "Did you forget your hat?" He asked ruefully.
The man looked back at the diplomat with a look of annoyance, concern still written all over his face regardless. "There's another vessel within the system. Chronosian."
Marius' eyes suddenly widened, a cold shiver running down his back. "Chro...Chronosian?" He gulped. "I'm in over my head."
"You can't back down now," came a harsh condescending voice, "You've been given this assignment by the Senate, and must see it through to the end, dear Marius. Besides, the Chronosians are an honorable people, and will respect your diplomatic immunity here. Besides, we're already en route to the surface, and it would be most annoying to turn around."
The small grey circular craft seemed to ignore the much larger Chronosian vessel, following their orders to descend to the planet's capital city directly. This small hiccup in the original plan would not change their intent.
Darwin IV, this is the Diplomatic Vessel Olive Branch. We have the aforementioned diplomatic officer representing the Republic onboard, and are requesting permission to land within or near the capital. Please respond.

Prime Minister Hyde recieved the news that the Taledonian and Chronosian diplomats had arrived, and he ordered that they be accomodated separately, so as to avoid confusion. He sent the diplomats for each group out to meet them.
The airport at Darwin IV had recieved communications from the Taledonians and Chronosians. They were told by higher powers to give them a response, and thus the two groups would recieve this message from the airport:
"The Olive Branch (Legacy of Damnation) is permitted to land at our airport. Please land when ready and on the specific area...." (coordinates provided).
The diplomats assigned to each group came to the airport and divided themselves into two groups, one for the Taledonians and one for the Chronosians. Both groups would meet at separate locations, where they would discuss diplomacy.
As soon as the foreigners landed, they could get these meetings started.

A group of diplomats came to the Emperor, they were dressed as if they looked like they were from Tudor/Elizabethan England. They greeted the Emperor as they would any monarch and took him to Salisbury Citadel, where the meeting would be held.
When they arrived at the Citadel, they went through the several corridors and walked passed the several doors, including the immense doors of the Empress of Carcasonne.
They arrived at their destination, a small but comfortable room. The Emperor was given his seat and the diplomats took their seats around the round table. "What shall we discuss first, Your Majesty?"

"Other vessels have entered into the system." A red robed adept of the Mechanicum droned, his throat pulsing with vox implants. He leant forward, gleaming brass augmetics framing the pulsing optic sensors that had replaced his eyes. "Subjects match known Isan and Taledonian designs."
"How typical." Sebastian sighed, an almost melodramatic flair in his movements. "We are forced to share our endeavors with vermin. Especially the hated blood foe. The Emperor himself ought to have been here, to look down upon their weakness."
"Then think yourself lucky, that his sons walk with you." Anton had placed his helmet upon his head, hiding his face behind the gleaming visor and shining ceramite of the armour. He flexed one immense powerfist, turning it as he regarded the raw killing force which his enhanced body and integrated power armour allowed him. "You will be guarded at all times, Diplomat. We will not allow these Xeno filth to taint you."
"My thanks, Captain. Now, shall we go?"
The Thunderhawk gunship slid eagerly from the belly of the mighty warship, a gilded hammer sliding through the void. Gold and decoration covered its every surface, writhing murals and mosaics upon its every surface. Upon one, an immense figure in black and red armour smote countless foes with twin black blades. On another, the same figure cradled the galaxy, stars playing over his perfect flesh, his black hair whipping about his head.
The ship tore through the atmosphere, a blazing streak of light through these foreign skies, tearing a great keening wound in the world as it descended, eventually touching down on squat legs within the bounds they had been offered. Hydraulics hissed as the ramp descended, and Sebastian emerged.
He was clad in decadant robes, intertwined with golden thread. A golden braclet, flecked with onyx, glittered upon his wrist, and his gloved fingers were intricately jewelled with rings. His hand clenched a staff, not for support but as a symol. Upon it was a burning brazier, orbed with great golden eagle wings and marked with the eight pointed star, sigil and sign of Chaos.
At his side, came Anton, his armour polished to a glorious shine, painted in some parts with fresh bursts of new and riotous colour. A cloak of taut leather stretched down to his ankles, gleaming at the edges with the scales of some unknown beast. With him were another two warriors of the Astartes, dwarfing the diplomat who they were oath sworn to protect.
Anton felt his senses roar as he gazed about him, lifting his helmet to take in the rich scent of a new world. He felt blood pound in his veins as he smiled almost impishly, regarding the worlds beauty, turning to see if the Diplomat or his brethern were similarly affected.
"In the name of the Emperor, divine Master of Mankind and Scion of Chaos, I announce myself. I am Sebastian Vergath, blood-sworn as his representatives. With me are warriors of our Lords Legios Astartes, his Space Marines.
Fear them not! For though they are beyond mankind, they are the instruments by which the Emperor shall redeem the universe....And bring with him the light of truth"

The group of diplomats sent to meet the Chronosians arrived after some time, again dressed like they belonged in Elizabethan/Tudor England. They greeted Sebastian and his enovy and then escorted him to Salisbury Citadel, a massive structure which also served as one of the Empress' residences.
As they all searched for the room they were to meet in, they passed massive doors guarded by two heavily armed men. That was the Throne Room, where Empress Elizabeth was at the moment. This was, after all, one of her residences.
They arrived soon at their room, medium sized but comfortable. Sitting all around the Round Table, the leader of the diplomats of Carcasonne, who name was Alexander Wyndham, looked at the Chronosians and began to speak to them in an English accent.
"Our government is pleased to open diplomatic relations with Chronosia, we are hopeful that this meeting will be fruitful for both of us."

Sebastian bowed his head, while the Astartes warriors stood impassively behind him, unmoving, unyielding, their superhuman forms aglow in ceramite plate. Power swords and bolters at their belts. They dwarved him in their might and glory, these warriors of the Dark Gods, warriors far beyond the mere men of the Imperial Guard. Enhanced and engineered, made so much more than they had once been...
Sebastian smiled, clasping his hands, letting his fingers close around each other, glowing in their finery.
"We are a great and revered human soceity, blessed by the gifts of the Gods and the leadership of the Emperor. We have conquered many worlds, colonised many others. The small cruiser touched down elegantly on the landing strip, steam being released in hissing blasts from the bottom vents, cooling the engines and bringing them back to neutral. The crewman flipped switches, pressed buttons, and powered down the ship, leaving only minor defences, communications and scanners online.
A platform began to lower from the grey hull, slowly making the four meter journey down to the ground, its cargo four men. Three stood in a perfect line, all dressed alike in the silvery armor of the Republican legions, their close-faced helmets making them look identicle in every way, and the blaster rifles they carried showed them ready, as well as the energy blade emmiters hanging from their utility belts. Standing at the fore was the Republican diplomat, dressed in a light blue tunic, with a pristine white toga wrapped around him; on his feet, elegant court sandles with bronze clasps and buckles. In his hands, a scepter of pure gold; a footlong cylinder with an eagle against a laurel wreath on the tip. It was this artifact that showed he spoke with the authority of the Senate.
The natives approached, their clothing of ancient style, already a sign that there were similarities in culture between the Republic and these people. They stopped about two meters away from the Taledonian party, and before they could utter one word, the Republican began his introduction.
"On behalf of the Senate and People of the Republic, I, Decimus Marius Forentius, greet your people. By the will of the Gods, I, a most humble diplomat, have been granted the authority to treat with your people, and negotiate anything that I judge benificial to our societies."

The diplomats listened closely to what Sebastian said, there were a bit intrigued by the mentioning of technology and resources. The leading diplomat of Carcasonne began to speak after Sebastian finished his speech.
"We would like to know more about the metals, etc you offer, as well as technology, not specifically what makes your associates here "more than mere men", we mean other technologies. As for culture, are you suggesting one of those "cultural exchanges?"

"M'ilord Artanis, have you heard?" Asked a Warlock, as he approached Seer Artanis. He stood in the luminescent garden that held many of the Craftworld's oldest and most beautiful plant life, all glowing a faint white or green light in the dark sky.
Artanis, most prominent, eldest and powerful Seer in the Craftworld was himself quite a specimen of physical and mental perfection. He was tall, lean but suitably muscular for an Eldar, despite the fact it had been many long centuries since had last seen combat. His silver hair stretched well past his shoulders, and his eyes were a deep ruby color.
"Yes, Hihalr I have. But tell me, why should I take any particular interest in yet another nation of disgusting Mon-keigh's desire to meet with yet more Mon-Keigh?" He asked with a sigh.
Hihalr simply smiled. "To my knowledge, Lord, their last Monarch passed away quite recently. Obviously, this is a...sensitive time for them. And a perfect time for us to insert some of our influence into their government."
Artanis thought about it for a moment, closing his eyes and coldly calculating. It was of course preferable that the Craftworld have allies, allies in which they could throw at any given enemy. One million Mon-Keigh deaths never had, nor would they ever surmount to the loss of just one Keigh in his races eyes.
"Very well. Send Tereah, and a small entourage of warlocks to meet with them. I do hope this won't be a mere waste of our time..."
And so, the following message was sent to them:
In the name of Kionash Ra-Ithen, we greet you, Carcassone Seven. We would be honored to meet with your people and discuss all manner of treaties, agreements and pacts that may benefit both of our peoples. If you would have us, we would be honored to send someone to represent us at this meeting.

Farseer Tereah sighed audibly as she glanced at her self. Where she expected to see a suit of Wraithbone armor covering her form from head to toe, which was her usual choice of attire, she now saw an elegant crimson and silver colored dress. To add insult to injury, her fiery red hair which she preferred to leave hang loose, was now pinned up in a sophisticated bun.
"Do remind me...why do I look like this?" Tereah asked rheortically as she stepped into the room where her entourage awaited. Four warlocks and two Guardians made up the small diplomatic group.
"Artanis instructed that we are too look as non-threatening as possible to their eyes. And I would say that you gallivanting through their capital in Wraithbone armor, armed to the teeth would be the opposite of that." One of the Warlocks remarked sarcastically. As much as Tereah wanted to throttle him for his tone of voice, she knew he was right.
"Yes, yes I know. But still..." Tereah felt uncomfortable being unarmed, especially when she was around Mon-Keigh. With their inferior intellects, who knew what they could try to do to her? With that in mind, she grabbed a Shuriken pistol from a near by rack and strapped it with a belt to her right leg, under her dress and thus concealing it. She looked to see some of the Warlocks had questioning looks on their faces.
"I like to keep one handy. For close encounters." She replied simply. Finally, she felt the small shuttle they were all being transported in depart the Cruiser that had carried it here, and felt the inertia of it's descent into the planets atmosphere. Within a few minutes, the shuttle landed at the airport, which the coordinates dictated.
With another sigh, Tereah began walking down the ramp and onto the landing pad, even before it had fully descended. Her entourage soon followed her and waited to be greeted by their hosts.

The lead Carcasonne diplomat, Richard Smith greeted Decimus and his envoy as they landed. "On behalf of the Government and Nation, I, Richard Smith welcome you to our nation. I hope that we shall have a productive meeting."

"I believe that would be acceptable, as it is a common thing for nations to do. Although we do have some building codes, specifically that the embassy cannot be more than two stories high if it is on the ground. IN orbit you have free reign to build whatever you want, but good luck finding some room, the various spaceports and shipyards seem to clutter the entire area."

Nurgle, the lord of Decay and death! Slaanesh, glorious Slaanesh, the Dark Prince of Excess! These are the names we revere, the names we honor." His face was twisted in almost zealous lust, a cackle upon his lips.
"A deal could be made for aspects of our technology and resources, assuming that you have that which you could offer in trade. We would be appeased only by gifts which match our own, which honor us and are offered in most glorious supplication.
There is much to be learned from us, much that the Imperium can gift to those willing to know its inner workings, to taste of its forbidden knowledges."
He turned, nodding to one of his Marines. The Noise Marine grinned like some feral beast, sniffing the air like a beast.
