Motto: "May We Forever Stay Prosperous"
SIC:
Externally, The Socialist Republic of Honakon was a brave country that gave across an image of strength, a united will and some may say stupidity. There insulting of the Industries of Russia, some said it was a united display of pro-Socialism from the country towards the capitalist driven nation. Others said it was an act of diplomatic suicide by Perez and may have helped bring together many powerful nations in the Pact of Gold.
And that's where the internal divide was present. For years everyone had knew it was happen, even Perez. Since 1993 when Modesto Vega had said "Yes, I would be interesting in ruling the Republic" tiffs had formed in the Commission, and slowly in the nation too. They did not realize it, but they were growing more divided as people - they all said they were Socialist, and they externally supported Perez's rule, but inside some of them they knew Modesto Vega would be the better leader...
The Office of Modesto Vega, Socialist Commission Headquarters, Pereziston
Commissionar Modesto Vega was a quiet man, however his intelligence overpowered that. He sat in his chamber keeping his cool, collectively lining sweet wrappers from his kid’s snack he had given them twenty minutes ago before they had gone out to play. His office was quiet, greyer than Perez's and neat - everything was filed immaculately, and the desk had all the content in order of size, shape or what use it had - including paperwork he was looking over. Perez's office was always busy, with business meetings, men piling in to write down his memoirs, or parties. Modesto didn't go to the parties.
He and Perez had been friends since they were newborns - they both lived together in the same slum in Barca and fought together in the Socialist Revolution to change what was happening in Espanola, to make the rich and poor more equal. But over the last twenty years once in public, and many times in private, Modesto had suggested he would be the better leader, and one who could develop the country to more riches than it is now - he said he could reach the $2 trillion economy milestone. Perez had lost his trust in him due to this, and on two occasions had nearly tried to remove him from the Big Four most powerful - one time, he wished him dead, but the night before it was to happen, ridden with guilt, he cancelled the Operation.
Modesto knew Perez wanted him dead, and he knew that with the country coming out of isolation and insulting every major power they would soon not last long. The country was growing divided in opinion and all could see it. If Perez wished to see Modesto gone, then Modesto would have to act to make sure Perez went first.
A knock on the door startled him. A thickly accented Spanish voice spoke through the room "The troops on the Moroccan borders have been ordered to mobilize. I think we are to do something in Africa, Sir."
"Good, good." Modesto said, sipping his coffee "Excuse yourself."
OOC: Just a background bit there. Not sure where I'm going with this, but it could be interesting for some of your nations as this develops to pick sides on who you would prefer to be in power, and conduct relations with each other secretly as they grow more and more discontent with each other. They are both Socialist, so sorry on that front for some. Perez is an overblown creator personality cult who rules the country rigidly and equally but is often prone to the outbursts like the ones against the Industries. Modesto, is well, modest and quiet, more cunning and clever - and probably to be more feared. This is a more of a build-up RP that will progress into the public eye in the NS time coming months. For now, just some info, and it's closed and strictly SIC.
