Black hawk down! (IC thread)
thousands dead. millions starving. an insane ruler. it all led up to a poor country. Cazelia decided to intervene on behalf of the people and was punished for it.
July 31st, 2018-Cyconut
4 black hawk helicopters took off for Cyconut from southern Cazelia. one of them headed for Cyvoni (capital). three hours into the operation a militiaman with an RPG hit the Helicopter in the tail blade, sending it into a spin. the helicopter then lost it's tail and surrounding fuselage after crashing into a building. ith crashed in a plaza. 1 pilot and 2 marines were killed in the crash. the others engaged in a 4 hour firefight and eventually escaped.
about 6 hours later another Helicopter was shot down by AK fire. 4 bullets hit the rotor and sent it crashing onto the top of a building. both pilots were killed but the marines went unscathed.
a joint operation was held by several nations to rescue the survivors and dispose of the dictator

Julius Heavenhammer was a goodlooking young reporter out on his first overseas mission. TDC had just recently gone global, and sent its reporters across the globe, and unfortunatley for Julius, a war had broken out in a nation by the name of Cyconut, some two bit backwater nation that most people never heard of, and even fewer probably cared about. This was not the type of job for a man like Heavenhammer, who would have been more cut out to be interviewing celebrities on the red carpet in Kulikovia or watching the teen scene on some spring break beach.
Julius landed with a small newscrew and a very light armed guard, only two men with old AR-550 assault rifles that they bought out of a Griffincrest surplus depot back home. All of the men had with them their journalist passes on cords around their necks, and they made their way to the Cazelian HQ, all with looks of dissapointment over their surroundings.
The lazy base, however, suddenly sprang to life as men ran about to get to their vehicles. It seemed that a helicopter had gone down in the city, and all hell was about to break loose. One of the guards sprinted up to the HQ to see if he could requisition a vehicle for his crew and himself, and the rest of the men hoped for good news.
Meanwhile, Julius looked at the rest of the men with him. "Well, it looks like we've got out first news story, eh boys?"

An OH-58D Kiowa hovered over the city of where the choppers crashed with it's two OH-58D Kiowa Warrior escorts. Their mission was to find the crash sites and see if there were any survivors. So far, none of the helos had found the crash site, but the operation was still on standby.
Two Hours Earlier, Green Hawk's Joint Operations Center (JOC) in Cyconut
"Two Cazelia Blackhawks went down during an operation in Cyconut. We are not sure if anyone is alive, but we are going to get those guys out of the combat area and into friendly space. This is our area of operations," General Fred Mucker said pointing to a map hanged onto a wall. He wore a grey short sleeve shirt and grey pants, like most of the other guys in the base. Thanks to the fact Green Hawk is a cold place, most Green Hawkains were used to cold weather thus meaning that even 'normal' temperatures were to hot for them. Everyone was sweating a little.
The General was briefing his highest ranking officers or people that were in charge of other people. Helo leader Major Eddie McHeed raised his hand lazily and asked, "if those are Cazelia's birds why are we helping?" Captain Dave Lousy of the Green Hawk elite light infantry smirked. Eddie was always bad with current events.
"We are here because we are in a joint operation with Cazelia, making them an ally," Mucker took a glance around the room, "remember, when shit goes down we are going to need all the help we can get."
"What about S.O.R.T.? Why are they here?" Asked Sergeant Bernie Light, leader of squad Foxtrot-One.
"That is classified, but if you must know. We are after some bad people and S.O.R.T. just so happens to have several platoons trained in kidnapping. No one said this was going to be a good guy with good morals V.S. bad guy with bad morals. This is a dog eat dog fight. We need to bring out all the cards," Gen. Fred Mucker finished is mini-speech as an aid walked into the room.
"Eighth recon just reported, sir. They have yet to find either crash site and they are returning to refuel, sir."
"Okay, everyone back to work," the room cleared out as the aid, after reporting, left followed by all the officers and leaders. Fred however stayed in his seat, took out some vodka and a small glass. Today was going to be a lond day. He just felt it to his core.
OOC: I'll change the post if we aren't based in the area.
