"Armor Brigade, advance!" Called the General from his position in the Army Corps HQ Southern Iraq. The mix brigade of several hundred T-72s and T-80s proceeded to roll into the territory of Kuwait. The rogue Government of Kuwait and its oil rich lands would soon fall to the might of the Wanderjarian Islamic Vanguard.
General Hassan al-Basra commander of the Iraqi 7th Armored Division ordered the first Armor Brigade to advance south into Abdaly, a city on the border. Aircraft had already begun soaring over, bombing any enemy military bases and istallations, and all Communications facilities. The cities of Al-Abdaliyah, Al-Wafra, Al-Nawasib, and Ash-Shaqayah all fell to several Wanderjarian Arabian Infantry, Armor, and mechanized divisions quickly. The enemy police forces put up minor resistance, but quickly fell to the Wanderjarian Armor and heavy infantry.
They pushed forward, into Al-Khiran, Al-Subayhiya and Fahaheel. Fighters and bombers continually bombed the capital of Kuwait City as well. Artillery battaries attacked high priority targets across the country with fierce aggression. Within two days the small nation had completely fallen to the overwhelming attack and impressive Blitzkrieg tactics employed by the Wanderjarians.
The enemy resistance continued of course, as this was to be expected. But counter insurgency methods were employed, and resistance was treated harshly. Cities which resisted had every home searched and should the people inside turn out to be resistance members, they were all executed.
Within a week, the majority of the major cities were completely pacified. The small country could scarcely hope to hold up to the might of the Wanderjarians.
This was only the beginning of Operation Sword of Guideon.
