British Londinium
06-07-2007, 03:26
Fashion and apparel are crucial aspects of Londinian culture. In British Londinium, dress is highly formal. The majority of Londinians can be found dressed in various types of suits, regardless of occasion. The colour of a suit is determined by a variety of complex and rigid rules. Children, for instance, are only to wear white suits with a red trim on the sleeves. Adults have slightly more leeway in choice, though members of government are to wear deep purple suits. Armaments can be found frequently on the persons of Londinian citizens, most opting for a silenced pistol or a shortened version of the Londinian scimitar, though some opt for "designer" weapons.
Kahanistan
06-07-2007, 03:48
Kahanistanian men tend to wear loose-fitting shirts or tunics over baggy trousers belted at the waist. Solid colors are most common, although tropical or floral prints are also common. These are more often found on women's dresses or skirts.

For formal occasions Kahanistanian men will wear Western-style suits, ties, etc. This attire is usually seen on male politicians or executives when they appear for photo shoots.

Women tend to wear the same loose-fitting shirts over slacks or looser trousers. Older women often wear ankle-length dresses and younger women (under around 50) generally wear shorter dresses, often knee-length or shorter, and one-shoulder dresses are common among young women. Jeans and T-shirts are becoming more common among both sexes.

Children usually wear ponchoes made of durable materials to resist heat and tearing due to rough play. These are made in sizes up to that of a typical seven-year-old.
Nueve Italia
06-07-2007, 03:59
At its beginning, Nitalian fashion mirrored early 20th century European dress almost to a letter, though the trend has been broken for years now, ever since the formation of the Allied States some 40-50 years ago. Nitalian fashion is now, what most people would call it, "contemporary".

Presently, fashion has been influenced by culture, materials, and need, ever since the Great Immigration of seven years ago. Currently, studies have shown that Nitalians prefer the colors white, green, blue, and, oddly, orange. Simple dress dictates some type of shirt, any style, and some type of bottom, preferably at least knee length for both sexes, although there is no set dress code.

Studies show that women prefer dresses and skirts to pants and jeans, and men prefer comfort and ease of movement over style.

Cotton and silk are the two main materials that clothing is made of, and designs tend to be loose fitting rather than skin tight.

Formal wear is considered a suit for men, and either a suit or formal dress for women. Traditional wedding colors are, instead of black and white, green and white. For funerals, all attendees wear white, and long, flowing robes and gowns instead of suits.

In the past few years, Nitalians old and young have begun to favor a design similar to the ancient Japanese kimono, favoring the ease of movement, the feeling of the materials, and the impressive designs and patterns as well as colors, both bright and dark. The designs of this garment have also made their way into other aspects of Nitalian fashion, the most popular being dresses with kimono-esque sleeves.

This style of clothing, known in Nitalian as Cabata, is slowly gaining favor, but now is seen being worn either in the privacy of home or with the overcoat, usually of high quality silk or cotton, worn over the regular dress. This style of design is also greatly favored because of the temperature conditions within Nueve Italia. The boiling summers make the silk cabata refreshingly cool, whilst the freezing winters send many people fetching their heavy, cotton cabata overcoats.

Jeans have been giving way to flowing pants, similar to sweatpants, and black has been the favored color for the lower half. T-shirts are still considered the most popular top for men and women.

Red has recently been seen as a royal-esque color (for reasons unbeknownst to most people), with wine-red being favored for tuxedo vests and jacket linings, cabata overcoats, linings, and embroderies, dress shirts, and evening gowns.

Girls are generally encouraged to keep and maintain a modest dress. Many girls still wear dresses and seldom wear provacative clothing, except for maybe in private. Even boys are asked of the same so many wear old fassioned clothing.

Sundresses are acceptable, and widely popular, amongst girls. A sundress is one of the few exceptions girls can have bear shoulders.

Dressing provactive of skimpy in public usually carries stigma. Although the modest dress is widly practice and accepted there are thoes that do rebel against it. On the flip side there are many young girls who fight for it, with a Modest is Hottest slogan.

White shirts and suspenders are quite common in casuals otherwise t-shirts and jeens for boys and dresses for girls. Girls can wear jeens but they usually don't unless they are doing some sort of recreational activity. Frilly dresses as well as frilly undergarments are very common for girls.
Vetalia
06-07-2007, 05:04
In Vetalia, clothing is directly related to social status. However, the emphasis is not so much on the cost but on the materials and worksmanship involved, with hand-sewn and personally bespoke tailored clothing made from the finest fabrics occupying the top spot. A well-made suit made by a tailor commands more respect and status than an inferior suit with a famous label. Vetalian dress is typically organized in to white tie, black tie, business formal, business casual and casual.

Work clothing is formal and retains the traditional suit and tie. Currently, French cuffs are seeing a surge in popularity and ties are growing thicker again with bright colors dominating, and some companies have even moved from formal to casual wear as their day-to-day dress code.
Taxion
06-07-2007, 05:20
Taxion fashions are generally light due to the extreme heat 7 months of the year however the people are also highly conservative. As such, there is always research going on to create fabric that covers, but is still cool.
Also, hats are extremely popular everywhere, and the grander and more expensive the hat, the higher the social status.

Tocrowkia
06-07-2007, 05:51
Tocrowkians tend to wear clothing suited for the harsh weather of their homeland. Trousers, shirts and thick boots are prefered for both genders in the harsher months, but this is not say Tocrowkian women and girls do not forgo more "femine" attire completly. During the warmer months, a large percentage switch to skirts, dresses and heels. A thick, leather or cotton trench coat is typically used by both genders to protect themselves from the low temperatures at night, however.

The government has restriced "foreign" clothing, however. Most especially taboo is far-eastern clothing such as kimnos and other flowing eastern robes. However, in recent years they have been met with growing acceptance, especially among the rich upper-class and nobility.

Another highly-valued commodity is the skin of furries, anthropomorphic creatures which the Tocrowkian Reich considers the scum of the Earth, but they still like to use their fur for things such as coats...and rugs.

Casual wear changes very little in ViZion. What has always been, by far, most popular is showing off the physique. That being...

For Guys:
Flip flops or no shoes
Shorts
Tank top or no shirt

For Girls:
Tank top
Short shorts
Flip flops or no shoes

As for dressier wear, the traditional black on white is most popular, while white on white is fairly popular. Black on brighter colors such as a shiny red or blue shirt are also fairly popular.
Rejistania
06-07-2007, 10:48
Formal clothing in Rejistania are suits, the mainlanders normally wear beige suits and ties in similar tones while pale-skinned immigrants normally opt for black suits and dark ties. The only reason for this difference in style is the fact that the different colors are more fitting to the skin color.

In their everyday life, clothing in Rejistania is varied and colorful. From traditional floral print 'tunics', to western-style trousers and t-shirt, almost anything does as long as the intensive colors make foreigners dizzy. one factor of course is the weather. Jeans are just not popular because they are too warm in this tropical nation. Lighter and cooler clothes are preferred. The colors often bear the reference to a soccer team, but foreigners are not likely to get them because they differ from city to city.
Vontanas
06-07-2007, 18:19
Currently studies have shown that New Vantanians prefer the colors blue, brown, black, and, white. Studies also show that some type of shirt, usually a t-shirt, and some sort of jeans are the most commonly worn.

New Vantanian men tend to t-shirts, tunics, or ponchoes over designer jeans belted at the waist. Solid colors are most common, although stripes are a close second.

For formal occasions New Vantanian men will wear pinstripe suits with bow-ties. Meanwhile, New Vantanian women wear formal dresses. This attire is based on the strong sense of corporatism in the nation.

Women tend to wear the same style t-shirts over jeans, short or standard. Older women often wear ankle-length dresses, though they are in the minority.

Children usually wear silk underclothing coverd by ponchoes made of durable materials to resist heat and tearing due to rough play. These are made in sizes up to that of a typical eleven-year-old.
Kanami
06-07-2007, 18:50
Kanamians wear a variety of clothing, that there is no one set trend. At any given time you can see a girl pass by in skimpy clothing and antother in a frilly maid-like dress. Jeans, t's and tanks are common and popular amongst farmers and ranchers and thoes that reside in costal cities. Some people still dress in a Kimono daily while some may go about in a bikini. Other foreign dress is common including a shadore <-(sp?) for Islamic Girls. School children dress daily in Uniforms. Plade is almost unheard of rather it's a fully matching unitary color. In Spring-Early Summer schools will have short sleeved-sleeveless tops and skirts for girls that are usually white. Winter will meet with longer skirts though tempratures seldome dip bellow 50 F. and long skirts. Boys will have sleeves year round.
Central Prestonia
06-07-2007, 18:51
in Central Prestonia, T-shirts and jens are popular among both sexes for casual wear. However, females also tend to wear skirts and other clothing usually associated with the female sex. Provocative dress is popular with the teenage population, in some cases up to the mid-20s. However, as one settles into the workforce, the clothing becomes more conservative. In the hot summer months, tank tops and shorts are popular, as well as flip-flops, though some people continue to wear the same running shoes they wear in the rest of the year. the clothing industry has seen a dramatic increase in sales of camoflague clothing due to the publicity of the armed forces currently engaged in war against communist forces in Tatom. In colder regions such as the Washington Mountians, heavy jackets come into fashion during the winter, when tempatures often dip below freezing. Due to a government ban on fur, the coats are all synthetic, although designers have succeeded in creating a synthetic fur so authentic that it's literally impossible to tell the difference.

For formal wear, most men prefer Western-style suits in neutral colors, with black, brown, and grey being the most popular. Women tend to wear dresses, although the length and formality of these garments depends largely on the occaision. Cocktail dresses are quite common at most formal affairs.

Gorkon
24-07-2007, 01:03
Clothing takes on a far more practical application in Gorkon than in most countries, owing to the everlasting cold conditions that prevail - especially during the dark winters. Typically numerous layers are worn, with the outermost layer being a thick, fur-lined coat made from tough fabrics. Similarly utilitarian trousers are worn in conjunction, with the feet protected by tall, thick leather boots and the hands by leather gloves. A hat with ear warmers is often worn, and during snowstorms goggles may also feature. Colours tend to be earthy browns and greens, or occasionally white.

Even when indoors, thick woollen sweaters are almost always worn, with no sign of anything like a formal suit, and women certainly don't wear dresses in any circumstances.

Fashion in Sumer is a merging of needs between two distinct cultures which compose the Dictorial Republic. Needs imposed by the hot, dry climate of mainland Sumer are complicated by those of the more damp tropical island territories. To this extent Sumerian clothing follows a pattern of layers, giving underware, innerware, and outerware.

Innerware is what is called as the usual garments of the people. These are usually lightweight, open clothes which are perfect for keeping cool within air conditioned buildings and within the hot and humid island territories. For both men and women this often involves shorts and a tee shirt style arangment, however longer pants can also be found. Younger women tend to favor short skirts and cropped tee shirts and tank tops due to the current popularity of some Temple Guard units within the civil population. The most common footware is an open leather bound sandal which wraps up over the ankle, although depending on the terrain and weather waterproof and hiking boots are avalible, as well as althletic shoes for sports or other activities.

Outerware typically consists of a long sleeved robe style cloak which is made of either dark or light coloured materials. The fabric is very light and designed to protect the skin from the sun's rays, as well as keep moisture in to allow the person to stay cool. Both men and women within mainland Sumer wear this, with very few asthetic differences. Males tend to wear it with buttons, while females tend to use a belt and wraping to hold theirs in place. Versions exist for both sexes with belts or buttons, as well as cold climate and wet weather versions with zippers. The outerware robe is often removed when indoors for long periods.

Additionally both males and females within mainland Sumer tend to wear light scarfs over their heads outdoors, with the outerware robe. Males tend to drape the light fabric scarf over their head, folded once, and hold it in place with either a tied piece of cloth, or more recently another type of hat such as a ball cap or boonie hat. Females typically wrap scarf around their head and nech, tucking the loose ends within itself under the neck and allowing the excess to hang down the back, over the shoulders, and over the chest slightly. This provides full coverage of the forehead, neck, and head of the wearer. Sunglasses are quite common within Sumer as well, with a wide range of styles avalible all accross the nation, and worn by most people durring the day.

The outerware and head covering are most often worn in extreme climates, such as heavy rain or cold, and durring the day while outside. Going outside in the evening or late at night the scarf and outerware robe are often ommited, as durring the early morning hours. As well in the island territories the outerware robe and scarf are often ommited for most of the day because their moisture trapping nature does not hold well with the damp climate.

Fation and Clothing in Kurona varries from person to person and area to area.

GIRLS:

In the cities it's quite common for girls to wear dresses. Usually with long skirts, but usually not fancy, (Fancy are worn for dates are other occasions) though girls out on the farm will wear more work approprate clothing such as overalls jeens with tees or tanks. Because dresses are more expensive most farm girls will wear plain overalls or hand made dresses. Boys also are known for overalls and jeens. While most dresses are certianly fanciful some are actually unique and designed in unique ways. Many girls like to leave some skin exposure often low cut level at the breasts for the sex appeal while others will cut off the top portion but keep it high to leave little clevage. Some like to add jewlery.

Boys:

Boys in Sonomi are commonly known for slacks and button down shirts. Otherwise they are the same as girls when it comes to work wear.

Rain Wear:

Because of the frequancy of thunderstorms both sexes have heavy raincoats. girls are known to wear pink, blue, green, and yellow, while boys are more known for Black Earth Green and more earthy colors. Not to say boys don't wear wear yellow blue or emerald green raincoats. Boots are also common place, many wear boots to match their coat

Cyberorganica
03-09-2007, 20:31
In Cyberorganica there are two distinctive fashion groups.
Those belonging to the Cyberiad, the assimilated human-machine ruling class wear heavy leather garments usually in black, crimson or white. The leather outfits are usually cut to show off any cybernetic enhancements they may have. Radical hairstyles and body modifications including piercings, tattoos and ritual scarification are commonplace.

The nulls, the non modified workers wear garments suited to their task. drab ragged coveralls are predominant usually imprinted with a copy of their U.I.B.(Universal Identity Barcode) stencilled on the back although some workers especially those in the "comfort" industry often wear little if anything as clothing is a hindrance to their primary function.
Ra-Horakty
03-09-2007, 23:43
Casual-wear consists of traditional clothing such as tunics, robes, shentis and jupons, with klafts worn on the head and sandals on the feet. Due to a cultural taboo regarding animal fibres these clothes typically consist of flax or - more commonly in modern times - artificial fibres. Female clothing is typically very loose and drapped, although more conventional summery dresses have also played a part in recent years. It is not taboo for partial or total nudity to be the norm in public or private for both genders, and on some particularly hot nights this may even be preferable.

In modern times, especially in regards to the formal wear donned by businessmen and the middle classes, there has been some cultural crossover. For example, a shenti may be elaborately styled and worn together with a contemporary suit jacket or styled tunic, or alternatively a wraparound tunic may be worn with formal trousers.

Due to the hot weather and the bright sun, nearly all clothing is white to reflect the heat, relying on gold styling, decorative imagery and jewellery to add colour.

The upper-classes and the aristocracy also tend to stick with traditional clothing as well. Pharaoh Tuthmosis VII is particularly fond of the nemes headdress combined with formal robes, and this is a fashion shared amongst the upper echelons of Ra-Horakty society, as is the khat headcloth. In more formal situations the aristocracy are known to go so far as to wear elaborate wigs, whilst the Pharaoh will wear the Pschent crown.
Gelu Fatum
04-09-2007, 00:10
Unfortunatly the Artic and tundra environment of Gelu Fatum allow much in terms of fashion, except for those able to afford living inside one of the artificial environment structures that the government has built and runs.
The artificial environment structures allows citizens to live within a warm environment, the upkeep of this is pricy and is only charged in the form of taxes to those that live within. Though because of Gelu Fatum's emphasis on individual freedom the fashion winds up being choosin individualy. Some citizens like to use the fashion of the past such as of the 12th century. Some might even mix and match, or even do a modern fashion.
However those that do not live within the artificial environment structures are more pratical, wearing thick coats, ether fur, cloth, or a mixture, with thick pants and insulated boots.
