Breaking news: Civil unrest in the Confederacy!
After President Featherston's death, and the disputed election where the Nationalist candidate was declared the winner, Vice President Koenig would not leave the capitol and declared himself the Emperor of the new Featherston Empire After this, the Jefferson party rallied around their candidate Jefferson Pinkard and raided the capitol building. They installed Pinkard as president after murdering Koenig and everyone else in the building, including many innocents. After the Jefferson party did this, a group of Nationalists protested this and were fired upon. This has sparked more combat between the Nationalists and the Jeffersons with the UDFCLMW doing it's best to keep the order.

Breaking news: Trouble with the Nationalists
After the unpleasantnesses with the delusional Koenig which unfortunately necessitated his death, the Nationalists were unable to accept their defeat in the election and have begun to cause trouble throughout the Confederacy. The new President Pinkard has declared that the Nationalist party is now illegal and must remove its activities from the Confederacy.
(OOC: brief description of events:
First president of the confederacy was named Marvin Jefferson. He was a nationalist, but that was before any parties truly existed. After he was assasinated (well after leaving office, but that's a different story), the country factionalised into official parties: the Nationalists (Liberal Socialists), the Jeffersons (named for him, Liberal Capitalists), the Militarists (Conservative Capitalists) and the Red Party (Conservative Communists). The Jeffersons gained power on a platform of remembrance. This continued for 61 years until the president died (since a law was enacted extending the presidential term to life). The balance of power would have remained the same (with the Jeffersons winning) save for the fact that about ten years before this the Red party folded into the Nationalists giving them a slight majority. They won the election (by an edge of a few thousand votes in the deciding province)), but then the above mentioned unpleasantness started. My plan is to continue on like this (with the two party news sources giving their views on events), and accept support from any and all people for any of the three sides:
The Jeffersons: Liberal Capitalists. They refuse to give up power, and are likely to turn the Confederacy away from Democracy
The Nationalists: Liberal Socialists. They won the election, and are trying to regain the power they lost 61 years ago.
The UDFCLMW (Unified Defense Front of the Confederacy of Liberal Men and Women - the combined military and police) : They are just trying to stop the fighting.
