Anthem of the Vetakan Defence Forces:
Chorus:
O'er the hills and o'er the main
At Zanski, Generia and Theeb
The President commands and we obey
Over the hills and far away.
There's forty credits on the drum
For those who volunteer to come,
To 'list and fight the foe today
Over the Hills and far away
[Chorus]
O'er the hills and o'er the main
Through Wagdog, Honako and Kampfers
The President commands and we obey
O'er the hills and far away
When duty calls me I must go
To stand and face another foe
But part of me will always stray
Over the hills and far away
[Chorus]
If I should fall to rise no more
As many comrades did before
Then ask the fifes and drums to play
Over the hills and far away
[Chorus]
Then fall in lads behind the drum
With colours blazing like the sun
Along the road to come what may
Over the hills and far away
For Freedom will always Previel

President confirms total Mobilization of Vetakan Defence Forces, Not an Aggressive Move, No Target
In a shock and unpredicted move today President Scarlet Rogers today confirmed in her usual and weekly Presidents Report that Total Mobilization of the Vetakan Defence Forces was requested. As a result and per the constitution the Senate subsequently voted on the issue with it passing on a total of 260 to 40 votes.
The President before this key vote said the move "Should not be considered an act of aggression by the outside world". Defence Secretary Samuel Fielding in a statement to the Press said "Their was no Target or Targets for this Mobilization", Going on to say "This is in response to the growing unstable situation upon the International Scene regarding the Questarian Commonwealth, NATO, Ghologoth Conflict". Mr Fielding when asked how long the Vetakan Defence Forces would remain at Total Mobilization replied saying "We would remain at Full Alert and Full Capacity for as long as was required".
Foreign Secretary Perry Cox at his office reinforced the Governments position regarding the world crisis "The Vetakan Government and the Vetakan People has decided to maintain a state of total neutralitity in view of the current world crisis. We urge all nations to follow this stance to limit the actions of this conflict."
As soon as the Senate had passed the motion the Vetakan Defence Forces began to mobilize with all Service Personnel both within the regular and reserve forces being called up for duty. Although President Rogers ruled out enacting the War Support Bill of 1999 which would allow for a War Economy and Total Conscription she did say "If conflict broke out the War Act would be brought into affect".
Whilst it is not believed their will be much international reaction to this move rest assured the New Theeb Explorer will bring you any and all reactions.
