Beginning July 4th, 2007, the Suez Canal will be closed for renovations. It will be undergoing immense upgrading and will be renamed to the Kampferian Canal. The Canal should reopen on December 4, 2007. Once complete, the Kampferian Canal will be completely renewed and reengineered. Rates for passage will vary depending upon each nations relationship with Kampfers. Kampfers holds the right ot refuse passage to anyone if they please. The revamped canal will also hold state of the art defenses for prevent people from attacking. All cargo is currently being diverted to land routes or around the Cape until December 4th. We are sorry for any inconveniences.

New Oil Reserves Discovered!

New oil reserves were discovered today in the southern quarter of the Sinai peninsula. Scientists have not yet assertained the amount of oil that is available in this reserve, yet it is estimated that there is well over 4 billion barrels. Scientists speculate that this part of the peninsula was once underwater, and that the decaying of the water animals over millions of years formed the reserve. The barren climate of the region is the supposed reason why these reserves were not found before. The majority landholder in the area is millionaire Frank Gates, who will become all the richer once drilling begins.

PEREZ HOLDS MAGNIFICENT PARADE TO CELEBRATE FIFTY YEARS OF GLORIOUS RULE

Our wonderful Supreme Ruler and High Commissionar, Juan Gasper Perez, and his three high up government peers in the Perez Group, today celebrated a massive fifty years as the rulers of this prosperous country of Honakon. All four looked on as a colourful, vibrant parade by the people first swamped the streets and then Red Square of the capital Pereziston. The parade was full of his pictures, and they sang his Anthem as they walked through the streets passed a public crowd of an estimated two and a half million. After the Peoples Parade, a large scale military parade, with all the men wearing the historic red and yellow uniforms of the old Socialist Army followed – gun salutes, fly-overs and other displays of military excellence were all part of the festivities. Once the five hour show was over, Juan Perez stood high on the balcony of the old palace of the Monarch in Red Square, which was draped in his images and the symbols, flags and names of Honakon on flags, and made a speech to the country.

The High Commissionar made a moving speech about the history of the lands saying “blood still runs through our rivers from the terrible death of the glorious uprising in the fifties – but it was all for our rightful, Socialist, free cause” he also made a dig at democratic and capitalistic nations saying that “they do not care for the people, but they care for their wallets.”. Furthermore, he thanked the many who were responsible for the Peoples Parade, and gave a salute to the some five thousand gathered armies.

Perez also took the chance to inform the delighted populous that he would be diverting troops, and calling up more troops, to take part in a strong Paramilitary force – called the Socialist Protection Army (which already has 90,000 members) – which will “protect our Socialist values from the pig interventionists and others who wish to see me in the gutter, not adoring my populous”.

It is expected that the celebrations will continue into the night as his millions of loyal supports –fifty-five million are members of the Perez Socialist Party – rejoice in the power of their mighty leader.

The Imperium of Dweladelfia Prime announces today the build up of the Imperium Navy. New ships are to be built for the greatest Navy on earth. Along with the IDS- ViceRoy (George HW Bush) which is already being built, a new Class of Carrier is to be built, The Dweladelfia Class. This Class of carrier is to be larger and stronger then the older Nimitz Class. It will project the Imperiums power across the world. Other new ships to be built are: 5 more ARLEIGH BURKE-class FLIGHT IIA Destroyers, 4 more Ohio-class SSGN, 10 SSN Seawolf-class, 3 LCC Blue Ridge class, and 6 SAN ANTONIO-class LPDs. This build up will strengthen the Imperium Navy and show to the world that the Imperium is a powerful nation. We will not be threatened by anyone nation, we will strike fear in our enemies. More Military Build-up

The Imperium Congress has approved the construction of more aircraft for the Imperium Airforce. The build-up will consist of 100 C-17 Globemaster III, 130 C-130 Hercules, 50 MQ-9 Reaper UAV's, 30 B-1B Lancers, 30 B-2, 50 F-22A, 125 F-15C, and 40 F-15E. This construction will take place over the next 5 years.

- The Socialist Republic has currently ordered 87 Eurofighter Typhoons, with expected delivery soon. They have further expanded this order by 20 planes.
- Work is underway for a possible naval superiority scheme, which will involve the production of more cruisers and one further aircraft carrier to protect the Republics interests. The Republic has expressed interest in one decommissioned aircraft carrier sold by the US, however if they cannot get that they have announced plans to upgrade the current new aircraft carrier in construction by the Spanish Navy to accommodate "many more planes", up to Nimtz Class standard. This will delay construction till 2008.
- Álvaro de Bazán class frigates have had a further two commissioned.

Imperial Government Announces Massive revamping of Power and Infrastructure


The Imperial Government has announced today that a project projected to last some twenty years spent modernizing the roads railways and waterways including major seaports..throughout the country..as well as the construction of several power plants including hydro electric dams which will revert water into irrigation systems to increase food production..and decrease Imperial need for imported fuel..this coupled with the drilling commencing on the new oil fields found in the Bohai Bay and the construction of several Nuclear power plants will further decrease dependence upon importing fuel sources from outside the Imperial Kingdom, as well as generating thousands of jobs to boost the economy..

In efforts to modernize the Carloginian navy, Carloginias has begun looking for military partnerships in Europe and North America. Thus far no one has been contacted but economists and military specialists believe that the President would look to the aide of Dweledelphia Prime and perhaps Honako.

Several members crossed benches mid debate on the subject and Chancellor Patrin signed the bill into law this morning. Most of those being cut are from conscripted regiments of Anatolia, and according to law retain their original jobs. The bill also calls for the recall of nearly two thousand armoured vehicles, and 150,000 combat suits, weapons, and various supplies formerly employed for Waldenburger troops.

It is yet unsure what will be done with the gear but the government hints that it will be surplus. Despite opposition from the office of the Prime Designate the money regain from this act will not be reinvested into the military but instead into public works, especially the aging transits systems of major cities. As a minor concession to the Designate a special Paramilitary police force will be formed with any volunteers from the recently cut army. Captain General Grey says that it will perform the roles of internal security and special forces, and will be no larger then ten thousand active officers.

New Tax Cuts Receives Mixed Review

Despite heavy resistance from a solid majority of the Left, Deputies of the Conservative Party, seizing upon the support of the Upper-Middle Class and positive reinforcement from the Crown, passed today a newly revised Finance Bill cutting more than €3.5 billion in Income Taxes for the Middle-Class. Primarily intended for Small-business and "Micro-enterprises," the new Bill is yet another part of Prime Minister Raffarin's campaign to reduce national unemployment figures whilst fostering greater productivity in sectors, which have for the past several years, been lagging behind mainstream economic performance.

Chronically high unemployment has persisted for almost three decades across large swaths of Lachenburg and a number of attempts have been made since to curb the unemployment rate. Since the return of the Conservative Party to power, Prime Minister de Villepin and his later successor Raffarin, have tried a moderately "liberal" approach to fighting unemployment: removing or weakening workforce legislation and lowering payroll contributions in order to stimulate employment. In his first one hundred days in office, Raffarin immediately set to the task of implementing progressive policies for job creation. Having re-negotiated the Government's relationship with labor under the terms of the First Employment Contract and later New Employment Contract, the Prime Minister next set his sights on taxation.

"It is only logical that the government serve as a catalyst to the establishment of a healthier business environment," noted Raffarin to the Associated Press. "We simply cannot afford to neglect this valuable opportunity for change."

So far, the majority of the public has responded positively to the Bill, with polls indicating anywhere from 48-54% of people in favor of such cuts. Left-wing officials and Union Organizations, meanwhile, have criticized the recent addition to the budget, citing that the reduction of revenue will only serve to increase Lachenburg's €880 billion public debt while encouraging only superficial growth amid the commercial sector.

Nevertheless, Conservatives remain unmoved, indicating the possibility of further reducing the Government bureaucracy and cutting additional programs to compensate for the loss. And, with Q1 Economic Reports months away, speculation as to the effects of the cuts (bound to take effect at the beginning of next year's fiscal year) continues to reign supreme.

Official Federation Announcement

In response to the Kampferian closing of the soon-to-be-renamed Suez Canal, the Federation is announcing a halt to its own plans for construction on the Karlonian Canal to allow for trade to move as fast as possible during these times.

President Charles J. Turian will be calling a conference soon, to which all national leader will be invited. A tax will be placed on the Karlonian Canal, and the conference shall be to decide what is fair to all. An announcement for the conference will be given shortly.

Gründer Industries Begins New Branch of Space Program, Investors are Interested

Sudentor-Today, the Council of Executives on behalf of the CEO announced a new addition to the already booming Territorial Space Program, with specific interest on a Mass Driver and a new, secret spacecraft. The Gründer Industrial Market and Exchange is up 67 points with the news after investors scrambled to the Sudentor Stock Exchange to get a piece of the stocks.

A site is currently being surveyed next to the Plesetsk Cosmodrome outside of Arkangel'sk in the Northwest Territories. A large Neodymium producing plant in the Ural'sk Mountains has been kicked into overdrive, most likely for the mass driver, with increased investment being poured into that as well.

Gründer Defense Industries Announces that it's Project: Leviathan is making good Headway

Sudentor-Earlier today, Grand Marshal Koslovic Announced that Project: Leviathan, the Gründer Defense Industries' (GDI's) high altitude mid-air refueling airships, are almost in the testing stage. The airships, powered by solar cells and utilizing a to-date secret technology (which will be revealed when necessary) is able to stay afloat for vast amounts of time in a holding pattern with tow large hoses trailing behind which planes will be able to refuel with. It is designed to be autonomous, though there is room for up to three crew should a maitenance problem occur. Koslovic announced that after initial tests are complete, four of these Airships are planned in production. He also hinted at the possibility of foriegn nations being able to use the refueling for a fee, something the CEO is very hopeful for.

It was announced today that the Luftwaffe has called for a new multi-role aircraft to be developed for the military. Also, increased military spending to 3% of the GDP allows for a remodeling of current weapons systems. A new MBT is also being developed to better handle all battlefield conditions.

On a related subject the cruiser Ragnarok (http://www.lancastermuseum.ca/photos/p_tirpitz2.jpg) , a newly released large cruiser, is going to be due for completeion late next near.

Imperial Declaration of the WEF

After years of steady growth both economically and politically, the new government that was elected just weeks ago has set up a plan for the next couple of years. The plan includes:

- Improving transporation, focusing on sea. Railroads are being built and improved, roads to a quality never seen before, and everywhere, ports built and expanded with a frenzy.

- Improving the economic infastructure. Mastery of high technology, along with the development of robots in industrial sectors. Creating jobs by farming on unused land in the Southern Empire (Indonesia) as well as expanding existing cities and towns. The sea routes between the Northern and Southern Empire are to be secured.

- Improving education. Teachers are to be given more money, in exchange for better performance and teaching. Awards for very good teachers are announced, and the national education system is totally revamped to educate the populace in a better and more efficient way. Tests are given as a standard, and extra-curricular activites are encouraged, if not required. The students are sent out to competitions worldwide, and have acquired the reputation for being smart, ambitious, and sometimes, nigh unbeatable.

- Improving the military. In these troubling times of conflict, the military, especially the Navy, is to be improved. Every single port that can already house a small Frigate is to be expanded to house destroyers, while ports that are already bigger are to be expanded to include Cruisers, Submarines, and Aircraft Carriers. A new Carrier and Destroyer is being developed - the Imperial-class carrier, and the DDX20 Destroyer. Both are still in the infancy of creation, and prototypes are yet to reveal exact specifications. The Divine Wind is also undergoing a vast revampment, and the new Superiority Fighter Zero X is being developed as we speak. It is to enter the WEF Air Force in several years. The ground forces are also being revamped. The new Beetle MBT is scheduled to being production in several years, as it is still being developed and tested.

- Improving homeland security. The Imperial Guard is being reformed, and coastal bunkers and defensive positions are being built with haste. The mountains provide excellent cover in case of an invasion too, and everything is being used. Only several beaches in the whole Empire have been allowed for tourism.

- Improving the environment. Hardcore limits have been put on fishing in sensitive areas, and oil is priced high so that the people finally get to working on alternative energy. Wind power is being used the most right now, but the Currents of the Sea program to use ocean currents to generate power is takign on support from the populace and is to be worked on and employed.

- Finally, improving relations with fellow neighbors. The World Empire of Futuris sees it critical that relations with Gataway stay in top shape, as well as with Dweladeflia Prime and Candistan. Other neighbors and countries all over the world are also important, and politically, the WEF wants to succeed.

Almost 50 billion has been allocated to completion of the plan so far. Most of the plan should be completed in 2-3 years, while other parts may take up to 10 years (like the military portion). More money may or may not be allocated to the plan in the future years as the plan progresses.

Official communiqé from the Indian Parliament – New Fiscal year

Prime Minister Ramaswamy Venkataraman together with the Minister of Finance, Sachin Tendulkar, today announced the new governmental budget for the Union of India. The most drastic changes are very large cuts in the defense budget, and large commitments on education, science and healthcare.

Baichung Bhutia, Minister of Science and Technology says that
"This is the most important commitment on science for at least a decade. The previous fiscal year the budget for education was $267,196 million (18.0% of the total budget), and with this new budget we're having $296,884 (20%) to spend on education and science – an increase with more than 11 %".

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Minister of Defense, seemed very upset and his comment was:
"The previous year we spend 445,326 billion on the defense of India (30.0% of the budget). This year we're having only 267,195.6 million to spend! A decrease with 40%! I cannot see how we're going to manage this without dismissing a lot of men from the army."

The Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Anil Kumble, was very happy when the new budget was made official. His department (Healthcare) were given 12% of the budget, 178,130.4 million compared to only 8 % (118,754) million in the last budget.
"That's an impressing increase with 50%! I'm so haaaapy!" shouted Mr. Kumble and smiled all the day.

Sachin Tendulkar, Minister of Finance:
"We're very satisfied with this new budget. And the best thing is that we're still to decide where to put the last 2 %. We're having more than 29 billion left when all the departments has been paid. We're going to have this sum as an emergency fond, and maybe we're going to take some money from the fond to help the military men, who now loses their jobs to, to educate to other branches."

More details about the Indian Defense department will come tomorrow. Certainly many soldiers will have to re-educate and probably find other jobs. But the government will help them, "nobody will go to unemployment" promised Sachin Tendulkar.

MASSIVE UNEPLOYMENT
GOVERNMENT CUTS DEFENSE BUDGET WITH 40 %

Earlier today the parliament announced the new annual budget. The defense budget will be cut back with amazing 40 %, making hundreds of thousands men unemployed.

"I cannot see how we're going to manage this without dismissing a lot of men from the army." said the Minister of Defense, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, in a statement earlier today.

Analytics we've consulted tells that probably as many as 800,000 men will be dismissed from the Indian Army. They don't think anyone in the Navy or Air Force will have to go home, but we have to wait until the ministry of defense presents their new organization plan.

"Nobody will go to unemployment" promised Sachin Tendulkar, Minister of Finance, but he didn't say what kind of new jobs the government will create.

The Department of the treasury plans to up its military funding for next years budget. This would give the DoD more money to spend on Upkeep of its forces.

PEREZ TALKS FOREIGN AFFAIRS: CONTROVERSY FROM OUR HONOURABLE LEADER

Juan Gasper Perez, the High Commissionar and Ruler of the Socialist Republic of Honakon conducted an interview with popular pro-Socialist reporter Solis Gaum today, where the main focus was foreign affairs. The Republic has long been an isolated nation, but with many others emerging around them he talked to Gaum about the fact that he was opening up relations with the "almighty Pan-Arab Barronia, and various other Med nations" and also said that the "respected fellow Socialist nation" H-Town Tejas was one he very much desired further foreign affairs with.

A few statements of so called controversy from our glorious leader rightly expressed his anger at the extreme pro-capitalist policies of some of the major nations of the world today. He refused to recognize Gründer Industries as the rightful leaders of the lands they have control over, and called for the people to "protest against their corporate oppressors". He also made statements about Dweladelfia Prime recent rejection of his inquires into purchasing three new cruisers, saying he was "upset that such a rich nation would not assist the smaller powers."

Next week we will report on Guam's interview with the Head Commissionar for Agriculture, to discuss the increasing yield from farms.

Kampfers has announced their plans to depopulate the island of Shadwan at the convergence of the Gulf of Suez and the Red Sea. This island will be used as a preliminary station for the revamped Kampferian Canal. This depopulation affects very few, as only two hermits lived on the barren island. From this point on, scuba divers will be diverted to the other islands in the archipelago, as Shadwan was a very popular diving spot.

In response to the statements made by the Socialist Honokon's leader, the CEO is believed to have said in a video conference with the Council of Executives saying "...and that Socialist bastard thinks he can tell ME what I do and don't own! He fails to realize that he and his Communist ways are dead, and that he is holding back the full potential of the country. And if any of our civilians start rising up over this, tell Civil Protection to become more vigilant. I have nothing more to say about this sick excuse for a leader. Now about that caviar?"

So far nothing more has been heard, but the Council of Esecutives promised to say if any more developed.

The Imperial Government announced today the relocation of some 800.000 troops into the Guangzhou and Chengdu Military Regions...400,000 into each region to complement the forces already there and are to be massed some 50 miles outside the borders of Carloginias..Maldoirans..and Kopparbergs. The Emperor was quoted as saying

"The troop deployments are in response to viable rumors of possible conflicts erupting around the deployed areas..the troops are merely deployed in order to protect the Imperial Kingdom and to show a projection of force in an attempt to deter any possible aggressive actions against the Imperial Kingdom...I can assure you however the Imperial Kingdom is by no means preparing for any offensive actions."


If the bordering nations will believe the Emperor's statement remains yet to be seen..however the Imperial Government has now disclosed that an unofficial alliance with Gründer Industries does exist and that arms production factories are being jointly constructed in the north. Also the Imperial Government has acknowledged that Grunder Mercenary forces have limited military access through the Imperial Kingdom as long as their movements are reported before hand

Today, the nation of Vetalia has reached a new apex in its war against disease and human suffering with the inauguration of the Chernomyrdin Medical Research Campus in Riga. The $250 million campus will offer facilities for a wide variety of research and is linked to institutes around the world for better sharing of data and worldwide cooperation. In addition, the government will provide $100 million per year in research grants to researchers from around the world as a way of drawing top researchers and medical staff to the country. A research hospital with 2,500 beds is planned for completion in 2012, with further expansions planned over the next 20 years.

This facility is state of the art, with the most modern equipment available including clean rooms and cutting-edge equipment for research in to the emerging field of nanomedicine and other nanotechnological fields. This is in accordance with the goals established by the 2007 Tallinn Conference and provides an unprecedented testing ground for these emerging fields. In addition, the institute will hold a month-long seminar, "Nanoethics: The Ethics of an Emerging Technology" for researchers in order to discuss the issues surrounding this research and its implications for the future of medicine.

President Turian has announced an ambitious new military spending plan that will increase the military nearly fourfold next year.

"We are moving into a new age for this Federation." Turian spoke today at a press conference. "With our increased military spending, we will be expanding the Jestasin Naval Facilities to begin construction of our three new naval vessels currently in research and preliminary production. The Retribution-class corvette, the Tyre-class patrol cutter, and the Portos-class close air support catamaran. Prototype hulls for each have been laid down and should be ready to sail within the year. We will also be increasing our facilities at the Arkanis Air Facilities to begin research and production of a S/VTOL fighter."

"Funds for the projects will be moved out of the budgets of other areas. Rest assured that these are purely defensive moves on our part. This will not be part of a offensive force. These new ships will be used to defend the Karlonian Canal from outside aggressors."

Budget figures for next year, when the defense increases are due to take place, will be available soon.

MILITARY UNITS MOBILIZED
TROOP MOVEMENTS IN NORTHERN AND EASTERN INDIA

Just a couple of hours ago military units in northern and eastern India started to mobilize and regroup their positions. The Ministry of Defense says that this is just a larger exercise planned months ago, and it's really nothing to write about.

Our analytics are of a different opinion, and says that this is not an ordinary exercise, it must be something else. Earlier today reports reached us telling about mobilization of troops in southern Armed Imperial Kingdom of Gataway, and our analytics believe this may be a response to that.

According to some sources, troop movements have also been made in western India, but they are yet to be confirmed, and we don't know in what direction they are moving.

The military activity in southern India is somewhat higher than normally, but it's hard to tell if they're involved in this, so called, exercise.

After many hours of discussion the Cabinet has decided to increase the size of our military from 93,000 to 100,000. The army will increase from 45,800 to 50,000. GIBRALTAR STRAIT ACCESS UNDER REVIEW

Juan Gasper Perez announced earlier today that the Commissionars of the Republic were reviewing the issue of access to the Gibraltar Strait. Currently, all nations have permission to pass through this Strait with only a minor tax, however as of today the triumphant government has decided to exploit on the fact they currently hold the only “gateway to the med” with the Suez Canal closed by increasing taxes until it opens. It is believed that the task will rise to 1% of the value of the total ships cargo, however if that price becomes too high it may be lowered for some nations. The policy of no military ships passing through without permission will continue.

Perez also mentioned that a few nations were exempt from the charge. These were Kampfers, Granate, H-Town Tejas and in the near future possibly Kopparbergs and the other Med Union nations once a pact is signed. This is mostly due to the closer relations the Socialist Republic enjoys with these countries. It is unknown how long this tax will last, though it is believed it will continue on to December, when a further review will be made by Perez which will set in stone who is allowed to use the Strait and how much they are charged.

Earlier today President Sambi announced that the country of Bull_Horns_Rule will construct a 12.5 million dollar off-shore refueling platform open to all countries having good relations with Bull_Horns_Rule. The platform should be finished in six months.

UCCF Downsizes Army-

The UCCF has announced today that the current army of over 9,000,000 strong, including reserves, is to be downsized. The main strategic element to the down size is to increase funds on naval spending, airforce spending, and to make the army more mobile. The UCCF also announces that is currently looking for countries to invest in the largely untapped power and economic potential in the country.

Following a review of current Naashan Canadian immigration laws, a bill of deregulation has been passed in the national Parliament. Pending acceptance by the Senate, the bill aims to reduce the waiting time and red tape that immigrants to Naashan Canada currently face. I will also push for the reduction of trade tariffs between our developed nations, particularly in compatible areas of our economy. On that note, I also propose the export of Canadian Union surplus oil and natural gas to the Imperium, as I am sure that you will be keen to reduce the amount imported from the Middle East and Asia.

Next, I wish to propose the joint development of South and Central American countries by our two nations, as this should prove beneficial to us and is indeed the responsibility of developed nations. The nations I had in mind include Aurum Domus (Mexico), H-Town Tejas (Peru and Bolivia) and Ambrose-Douglas (Panama and Columbia), the latter of which seems to have taken quite a spurt both economically and in the role it wishes to play internationally.

We at the Imperium think it is in the best interest of our two nations to go forward with this alliance. It will strengthen the American continents and better defend them from foreign aggressors. This alliance will prove as deterrence to the Asian threat.

A joint work effort into strengthen our militaries would also be something that this alliance could provide. Newer and advanced naval technology to protect out waters, as well as more advanced air defense systems. This will prove to be a necessity in the coming days with the rise of this Asian power.

An open boarder policy would be expectable to us. This would make it easier for trade and tourism. Trade will prove another benefactor of this alliance. Strengthening our South American brothers will be beneficial to both us and them. Our main goal should be to improve there economies and there defensive capabilities. I propose the construction of radar facilities across the northern reaches of Canada and along the western coast of the Imperium in order to increase our air defense capability and reaction time in case of an aerial or ICBM attack.

I propose the construction of a joint headquarters to monitor and control North American airspace, for both operational convenience and as a show of joint strength and resolve. This North American Tracking and Defense System (NATADS) will be responsible for the detection and interception of hostile aircraft and missiles entering it's airspace.

I would also like to enquire as to the possibility of purchasing twenty further F/A-18 Hornets (re-designated CF-18's in Canadian Union service) along with parts and munitions to help my nation play its part in this project.

I am pleased that you have decided to accept my proposals regarding trade and opening borders, and I would also like to make it clear that Imperium military convoys headed to Alaska will not be hindered by the Canadian Union.

On the subject of investment in developing nations, perhaps a joint fund could be set up with an interest in financing specific projects within chosen nations, rather than generic contributions as 'aid'. I am painfully aware that most money given as aid for a non-specified project tends to end up in the pockets of local politicians and bankers.

The government released today that, under a 20% increase in defence funding, standardisation proceedings are beginning. This operation will bring all of the equipment in use in the Commonwealth under a set criteria - one infantry battle rifle type, one MBT type, etc.

Due to this, the government has also announced that it will soon have surplus of many weapons, that will be available for sale to the smaller nations.

Kampfers is currently upgrading and standardizing it's military. For a while, its lack of standardization has hurt the military, as, for example, there are 6 different assualt rifles alone in service. This makes for higher matenince costs and for many different ammunition caches. As such, Kampfers is consolidating into certain weapons.

Official Statement

The Naashan Canadian Union announced today that the construction of RADAR installations across nothern Canada and Alaska will begin within a month. Codenamed 'Northern Watch' the project aims to monitor aircraft and ICBMs entering North American airspace with a string of tracking stations across the continent. Government officials are hoping to get construction well underway before winter sets in, making it so much harder to move men and building materials.

The project, expected to run into the billions of dollars, will be jointly funded by the Imperium and the Canadian Union and is the first of several of its kind to be announced. Construction of a second RADAR line to cover the mainland Imperium is expected to begin within a year.

Port Yakhut'sk-The GDINC-PF has dispatched a flotilla towards the South Pacific following a 15,000 man Mercenary Force being transported to their home port of Port Yakhut'sk. Prime Minister Ramaswamy Venkataraman today decided to put a full trade embargo on The United Capitalist Carloginian Federation. Earlier this week the Minister of External Affairs Dinesh Karthik tried to get some kind of diplomatic connections with the UCCF, but the Carloginian president Qui Chang denied due to unknown reasons. Military assertiveness and sustainability, highly mobile and extremely well protected, it is a tank that is also suitable for use against single targets and optimally so in both built-up and non-built-up terrain.

While the Leopard 2 PSO is technically a new tank, it is also an upgrade package that can be easily installed on any Leopard 2. The package includes ERA modules that fit on the sides of the turret and hull, therby increasing it's armor with minimum weight gain. These ERA modules, newly designed by Hellsing: Land Systems use a simple explosive inserted between two plates of steel. The plates of steel are only 3mm thick while the explosive is around 10mm thick.

In addition to the ERA modules, the PSO upgrade takes out the old 7.62mm Machine on the top of the turret. It is replaced by a new remote controlled 20mm cannon with 225 rounds held in the box next to it. Many a time the tank commander is shot while he is out of the turret operating the machine gun, no more with the 20mm Cannon. This allows the Tank Commander to provide cover fire for infantry without endangering himself to enemy fire.

The Granatian Military has announced that some of the new Leopard 2A6s that are being produced will have the PSO Upgrade put during construction. These units will have a PSO designation written on the side of them, to help distinquish them from the other Leopard 2A6s, which will have nearly the same color scheme.

PSO Upgrades are available to all nations with Leopard 2s in their inventory and to some without. This is because portions of the the PSO upgrade have been tested and successfully integrated with a PT-91 Twardy Tank, which is a derivative of the T-72 tank.

The only thing you could want to argue about is the full access to your ports to our navy and fishing industry, but it's really not a big thing. Refueling and things like that. It's not like we're going to keep a fleet in your port all the time (in case you don't want that of course – you know, we can sign some kind of mutual defense pact also).

Fullscale Production of the Leopard 2A6 was shut down back in the middle of the 90s, due to budget cuts and a diminishing armed force. Back then it was thought that words, not war would be the means to getting points across. Over a decade later, it turns out that the idea of Diplomacy overtaking War was false.

Today, factories that produced the Leopard 2A6 back in the 80s and 90s, were restarted. These factories were originally planned to be made in Automobile Factories back in 2003, but Hellsing: Land Systems, the Manufacturer of the Leopard 2, stopped that. Now, in 2007, their plan worked. Workers filed in for the first time in nearly 12 years to work on the new flight of Leopard 2A6s. Some of the workers used to work for Hellsing: Land Systems back in the early and mid-Nineties when the Leopard 2A6 stopped production.

It is estimated that the the factories will produce upwards of 500+ Leopard 2A6 tanks, with around 150 of them being fitted with the PSO upgrade package afterwards. The current stock of 2A6s and 2A4s in the Granatian Military will also go through an upgrade process to make them standard with the new flight of 2A6s, which has been falsely refered to as the Leopard 2A7. In fact the true name of the new flight is Leopard 2A6B.

The Government has done purchases from Dassault-Breguet Aviation, Eurocopter Group, and Heckler & Koch GmbH. The deal numbers in the billions of Pesos, but exact figures have not been yet released by the Ministry of Defense.

From Dassault-Breguet Aviation, the Franberrian Republic has purchased the Rafale Multi-Role Fighter. 70 units of this aircraft will be procured, in three different versions: 48 "C"; 18 "M"; and 4 "B". These units will be paid over the course of two years.

Massive Research Satellite Announced By Gründer Industries, Work to Begin Soon

Sudentor-Earlier today, Grand Marshal Koslovic announced that the Oka Nieba, a very large research satellite planned as part of the space program expansion. It is to be the largest autonomous vehicle in space so far at a planned length of 420 feet. GDINC-PF Contingent to go to BHR to retrieve Equipment, says Naval Command

Saipan-Earlier today, under order of the Council of Executives, The Battlefleet sent to the COSAT will now be rerouted to BHR to retrieve the industrial equipment sent their. Due to the recent assassination theree and subsequent rebellion, troops aboard the ships numbering in 5000 men are to make rapid insertions to get the equipment out. Their objectives will hopefully come out without needing to destroy any equipment, but if it is too hot to get the supplies out, Naval Command has been authorized to obliterate all supplies unusable to keep them ut of the wrong hands.

Yesterday The Comoros Island received $222 million in foreign economical aid from The Indian Union. Today terrorist murdered the president, and it's really unsure if they have taken the capital under control, or if they are arrested. There are no reports from the Comoros, other than about the actual terrorist attack. Speculations are telling that a terrorist group has the nation in their control, and if that's the case the aid from India may be in the terrorist's hands.

$222 million are not much money for the Indian government, with a yearly budget of almost $1.5 trillion, but in the Comoros it's about 50% of their GDP.

VCTP Upgrade Project
Vehiculo Combate y Transporte Personal 2007


In early 2007 the Franberrian Army realized the need to upgrade the VCTP into a more capable Infantry Fighting Vehicle. A new generation of IFVs had appeared amongst the major powers, either via upgrade or via development of a new system. The Franberrian Army decided that it could not fall behind, and a commission was developed to investigate options as to improving the VCTP into a next-generation infantry combat platform. The Imperial Armed Forces of Spizania also had a need for an IFV, but lacked the capability to develop it on their own. Therefore, they funded large part of the project, and represented a secure sale as soon as the first production variants started rolling out of the factories; this was a great incentive for the Franberrian Republic, who now had a secure foreign buyer. Once presented with an early mock-up, the Jaredcohenian army also signed on to the project, and are likely to purchase large amounts of VCTP-7s in the same version used by the Franberrian Army.

Kill-power:

One of the most important requirements, if not the most important one, was an increase in the lethal power. The 20mm cannon, quite effective on the more lightly armoured vehicles of the 80’s and 90’s, is rather underpowered compared to the new vehicles fielded by the richer South American armies after many underwent expansion and upgrades after 2000.

The commission on the subject has determined that the Mk 44 Bushmaster II chain gun is the best choice for the VCTP. The increased kill power offered by the 30mm round is a great improvement, even when we take into account the loss in rounds per minute. The new weapon shall also be able to deal with almost all opposition in the African continent that the Imperial Armed Forces of Spizania might encounter in the defence of their sovereignty.

For any threats that cannot be handled by the Mk44 Bushmaster II, it has been decided that they will be dealt with Ingwe missiles. The missiles shall be fitted in a two-missile launcher, similar to that used on the M2/M3 Bradley, with the small variant of having a laser designator mounted on top of the launcher. A further 4 missiles will be stored inside the vehicle. Loading will be done manually and the gunner will have to exit the turret to replenish the missile stock on the launcher.

In order to more effectively deal with infantry and un-armoured vehicles while preserving the ammunition of the Mk44 Bushmaster II, it has been decided that an FN MAG shall be installed in a co-axial position to the chain gun, and that another shall be fixed on the roof of the turret, to be used by the commander if necessary.

Protection:

High importance was given to enhancing the protection of the VCTP. New IFV’s have improved armour and shapes that increase survivability. However, on the VCTP the shape of the vehicle cannot be changed, and the armour would be hard to increase without sacrificing too much speed. Therefore, the commission has decided on employing Explosive Reactive Armour on the front and the sides of the chassis, and on the front of the turret.

Electronics:

The VCTP also hopes to boast the latest in electronics, and for this the Franberrian Army hopes to contract the help of BAE Systems Land and Armaments in order to install a system similar to the one employed on the M3 Bradley, which would have the increased benefit of working well with the Mk44 Bushmaster II, a weapon system employed by the before mentioned IFV. If those electronics are not available, then the Franberrian Army hopes to obtain those on the CV-90, which are also of the highest quality and will greatly increase the effectiveness of the vehicle.

Other:

In order to accommodate the new electronics and larger cannon, the turret ring will be increased slightly and the turret shall take on a new shape, more resembling to the one of the M3 Bradley infantry-fighting vehicle. Other than that, the VCTP will retain its existing visual characteristics.

Scout Version:

The Imperial Armed Forces of Spizania also requested a scout version, which would be identical to the IFV version, except with a reduced passenger component to 2, and increased amounts of ammunition.



The Franberrian Army, the Jaredcohenian Army and the Imperial Armed Forces of Spizania hope that the changes previously mentioned shall turn the VCTP into a premier infantry-fighting vehicle, of quality that would usually only be associated with combat systems fielded by the richest militaries of the world.

Rumours were flying around the room today when I interviewed Modesto Vega, our Commissionar for Justice, who mostly deals with foreign affairs as well, after he said "from now on, I will be the only one who speaks about foreign nations". 18 Miles off the Coast of Grande Comore, BHR

Federation Airlines announced today that its fleet of two hundred fifty two [252] aircraft were ready to be international and domestic operations once again.

Highlighting the fleet are twenty new Boeing 787-8s and ten new Airbus 300-200s, each capable of carrying almost three hundred passengers. With all planes operating at once, Federation Airlines could carry more than 33,500 passengers at once. Flying Phoenix Air operates a fleet of fifty four [54] planes that can carry almost 4,700 passengers at peak capacity. Highlighting their fleet is a group of twenty four Boeing 737s. The catamaran, named, for the moment PortosX1, did a quick jaunt out in the water today before heading back to port. More extensive tests will be done in the following days. The catamarans reportedly have a manufacturing cost of $70 million apiece. However, with the recent pledge from Grunder Industries to help build up the Federation's shipyards, as well as the $86 billion grant from Dweldelfia Prime, production is moving along ahead of schedule.

Next out should be the Retribution-class corvette, followed finally by the Tyre-class patrol cutter, the pride of the Federation.

Imperial Proclamation

The Plan to improve the Empire is going well. However, significant emphasis must be placed on the development of the new carrier, destroyer, fighter, and tank. The developments for these things have just started, and are all going well.

However, they are also being taken into a different program, which is also differently funded. Obviously, the development of such material, even if not everything is from scratch, is quite a costly effort. Although plans for each individual military item are, as of yet, unknown, as they come up, details will be revealed. The development may take up to 5 years, but production even longer if funded by the Empire itself.

Another interesting development on the issue, is the Pact of Gold. Due to the technology sharing ideals set out in it, the World Empire of Futuris asks kindly to each member of the Pact of Gold to lend support in whatever way possible - be it funding, or even experienced military minds in the development of such things (although more to the funding). Depending on how much said country contributes, the deals with selling the product once it comes out will be too good to seem true - but they will be true. Not only will the price be literally the same as at production, but they will be available sooner, and certain licenses acquired with relative ease to each product. Official Statement

Work has begun on the construction of the RADAR installations in the north of Canada and Alaska, it is expected that the 'Northern Watch' line will be operational inside six months. In the meantime, American Pact officials have officially announced the establishment of a second group of installations to track traffic across the western Imperium.

In other news, construction of the North American Tracking and Defence System (NATADS) headquarters is underway at an undisclosed location. Canadian Union and Imperium personnel are currently using temporary facilities in order to get a head start on integrating technologies. A series of exercises and simulations run by the teams have so far proved mixed but encouraging results nonetheless.

The GDINC-PF Flotilla has been ordered to return to the COSAT with the news of Donaghadee Troops arriving to Grande Comore to enact stability. All aircraft have been recalled to the Flotilla and the islands will be left to the Donaghadees to sort out and control.

The Straits very high taxing had made millions for the Socialist Commission, some say even billions, and so the country will benefit from this new multi-billion dollar profit which will be used for "improving health, education, communications to rural communities and possibly to help fund the creation of a new aircraft carrier for the Spanish Navy, the most advanced we have ever seen - and hopefully Europe." With Spain's second carrier, the Buque de Proyección Estratégica arriving complete in one months time, it is further brilliant news that Spain plans to yet again increase it's naval tonnage with a host of new ships to come in the next few years, the nearest ones arriving being the plenty Álvaro de Bazán class frigates that have been created.

Tanks are also in order for the military, and the budget this year could see Perez paying lots for high quality Leopard 2 if the Granates are willing to sell. And as for the future taxes on the Strait, most nations have had it decreased to just 0.1% of the value of the contents of the ship - even the Industries has had it cut in half to 0.5% as a gesture by Modesto to "normalize relations" - he has also said that this will lower if he feels that they are "stable together again". However, when Kampfers announced that they have raised taxes for Honakon's he merely said "If Kampfers does not want peace between our nations, I do not understand, but if he continues like this we will never truly be at peace with each other." The Kampferian Canal has now been re-opened. All nations are allowed to use it, although nations such as Honako are subject to a higher tax. Pact of Gold nations recieve a reduced rate. The new canal features emplaced guns lining the canal at strategic points along with an undisclosed number of airfields. Fuhrer Richtoff responded to the statement from Honako by saying "Betrayl? What Betrayl? We did not promise anything in our meeting, we just offered possibilities." In other news, the Kampfers-Grunder Industries Refinery has been built and is operating at full strength now.

Statement from Ministry of Defense

Naval Warfare is becoming a major part of modern war. Since Donaghadee has not the capability to mount amphibious attacks, we have decided to create a Naval Infantry Brigade under the command of the Royal Navy of Donaghadee. The Brigade will be made up of 3 Infantry battalions(800 each) and a pathfinder Commando Battalion(500)and comand elements. One Battalion will be equiped with MT-LB(61), the rest are equiped with the Seacat Landing Craft (based on the Jurmo class landing craft). The main tactic of the Naval Infantry will be that of shock with regular infantry confirming captures. This will not effect the Marine Special OPs Battalion

Kampfers has announced today that they will begin production of an upgraded Merkava within a few months. This tank, the Merkava "Rhino," has an upgraded gun. It now uses a 145mm smoothbore cannon, developed in Israel. It uses the same 10P Revolving Magazine as the Merkava Mk 4 with slight adjustments that allow it to carry the bigger rounds. Its base armour has also been upgraded from the Mk 4, and it is estimated to be 900-1500 mm. It also uses the same module armour system that the Merkava Mk 4 uses, and that allows the armour load to become even greater. It uses an upgraded powerplant to withstand the extra weight, a new 2000 hp deisel. It's secondary weapons include a 12.7 mm coaxial MG, a 60 mm internal mortar, and two rocket pods (2x2) on the turret for ATGM's or SAM developed by Grunder Industries. In response to the one of Honako's leader's statement, Fuhrer Richtoff said that "I want peace between our nations, but you try and blame our problems on us. All I do is protect Kampfers from the blatant lies your nation has thrown at us."

Gründer Industries Announces that the First Leviathan-Class MAHARA (Mid-Air High-Altitude Refueling Airship), the R-01, has Taken Flight

Sudentor-Today, Grand Marshal Koslovic announced the First Leviathan-Class MAHARA, the R-01, has been filled up and set course for its first location in the South Pacific. It took off from Sudentor Int'l this morning and is in the process of being towed by a Tu-95 Bear across the continent to its objective. Once it arrives, the Tu-95 will then refuel using the MAHARA and return to base. The airship's services will be available to any nation given permission by Gründer Industries for a small fee.

Three more MAHARAs are planned, the R-02, R-03, and R-04. They will enter production next month and will all be complete in 14 months.

The Grand Alliance of Neutrality:

When it becomes obvious to all sane nations that to stand alone is to die alone, the world must unite under one banner against any threat. That is why on the 5th of February, 2008 the Waldenburg Republic calls into effect the Grand Alliance of Neutrality, in effect the alliance will bring nations together in a spirit of mutual defense and good will. Juan Gasper Perez, the glorious High Comissionar of Honakon today said that he "recognized the neutrality of all the nations involved in the newly formed GAN 'alliance'" and said he saw it as a "noble cause which will assist worldwide peace". What most people thinks happens at a gas factory is that people produce and develop new chemical weapons that are spread through the air. However, a team of scientists had a different task. They were experimenting with different reactive metals to see if they could make a metal that would explode on contact. When most bombs go off, they release a spray of deadly shards of steel. It was these scientists jobs to make those shards explode themselves, setting off a massive chain reaction. Progress was expected to come both fast and slow, but by god, they would have progress.

After half a year of continuing in the Program for the WEF, special concern has been given for environmental concerns. After dismissing several ideas, the idea of using alternative energy, usually in the form of solar, water, or hydrogen cell, instead of oil, to power vehicles, ships, and later, perhaps even aircraft, has caught the attention of the government. With consideration, 6 billion from the reserve portion of the budget has been taken and put into research of such energies. The WEF humbly asks that the PoG band together, and develop such a product together, meaning it wouldn't be a WEF product, with reduced rates to PoG members, but a product produced equally in every PoG country that contributed (and reduced to PoG that didn't). The benefits of such a program:

1. With oil prices rising, developing oil-free, or something close to that, cars, ships, and aircraft, would reduce dependancy on oil so completely, that the economy would improve, and revenue could be made on oil produced in the country by selling it to others.

2. Saving the environment.

3. By developing and learning about these things, the technologies could be used for other things in the future, technologies that could ease daily life and our own country's needs.

Eurofighter Typhoon Production Increased!

The Defense Minister today announced that the Production of highly advanced Eurofighter Typhoon would be increased to coinside with the increase of Leopard 2s. All of these number increases are apart of an ever increasing Granatian Military, which sees only the Navy not recieving anything new.

The Eurofighter Typhoon is a very advanced fighter jet, using a Delta-Wing design with Canards for added lift and stability. It has some of the most advanced electronics of any jet in the world and more then stand-up to any fighter. It is both manueverable and fast, as the top speed has been identified as somewhere around Mach 2.2.

The exact number of Typhoons being manufactured is still a mystery, but it is estimated to be around 150 to 175.

Panavia Tornados to get Upgrades

The Panavia Tornado, a swing-wing Fighter Jet, has been given the ok to be upgraded so that it may be used farther into the future then originally anticipated. The Tornado has been Granate's main fighter jet since the 70s and with the advent of the Typhoon, it was thought to be the Tornados end. With this latest Defense Ministry decree, all 250 of Granate's Tornados will be updated with newer engines, electronics, and hopefully weaponry in the future.

Ministry of Defense Announces Weapon Contract Bid

PARIS, Lachenburg (AP) -- In a brief press conference to members of the international media, Minister of Defense Morin announced to the public at large the Kingdom's intention to gradually retire the venerable FAMAS assault rifle from active military service.

OOC: 2 months, time for some progress.

SIC:

The scientists were busy mixing two reactive materials when it exploded in their faces. "HOLY SHIT! I think we found the two materials!"

They experimented with different mixtues of the chemicals, placing them in small superball like casts. They let the mixtures harden, and removed the cast. To test out which would work, they threw the balls agianst a far away wall. The first ball didn't explode. "Not enough Agent Z." one scientist noted. The second ball, exploded, but not with much force. The third ball exploded perfectly, and the fourth exploded in the man's hand.

"Well, I think it's ball 3. Now, lets make a bomb and a missile outta this and test em."

The missile fired perfectly. It shot up, blew up close in the vicinity of a dummy SCUD, and the shrapnel from it hit the SCUD. The shrapnel, being explosive, blew up, and the SCUD was intercepted. "Perfect. You can use this on SCUD warheads too!"

Then it was time for the bomb. The F-4 Shot ovrhead carrying the bomb. However, the reactive materials went off, blowing the plane out of the sky. That would have to undergo more work. The material was fragile enough to blow up on contact, and strong enough to be fired from a missile launcher, but not strong enough to be dropped from an airplane. Who knows why it was tougher, but geusses go to the fact that the discharge of a bomb from a plane is not a smooth transition.

The Ministry of Defense was not a pretty build. In fact it wasn't a building, it was a giant basement beneath the Presidential Villa. I'm sure you're wondering how the Government was able to afford a giant basement, well it's a simple story. So simple that I'm not going to tell you. Moving on. The man in charge of the defense of this great state.

One problem.

The Commonwealth had aquired alot of useless equipment, MiG-23s and spare AK-47s. It also lacked decent things, like a carrier and a submarine, and a good battle tank.

Who was in charge of this task anywho?

His name was General Angry Midget. Yes that was his name, General Angry Midget. He was a midget, and how he became General... well you have to admit it's pretty funny having a small person be in charge of a military. But he was a smart man, a very smart man. He knew he had good equipment that could get money into the Commonwealth, and he could use that money to get good equipment.

Then there's the other sticky point.

The Commonwealth used a mix of Soviet and NATO ammunition. It needed to completely become NATO-sized... luckily that was already underway, but now onto selling that equipment.

The Ministry of Defense was not a pretty build. In fact it wasn't a building, it was a giant basement beneath the Presidential Villa. I'm sure you're wondering how the Government was able to afford a giant basement, well it's a simple story. So simple that I'm not going to tell you. Moving on. The man in charge of the defense of this great state.

One problem.

The Commonwealth had aquired alot of useless equipment, MiG-23s and spare AK-47s. It also lacked decent things, like a carrier and a submarine, and a good battle tank.

Who was in charge of this task anywho?

His name was General Angry Midget. Yes that was his name, General Angry Midget. He was a midget, and how he became General... well you have to admit it's pretty funny having a small person be in charge of a military. But he was a smart man, a very smart man. He knew he had good equipment that could get money into the Commonwealth, and he could use that money to get good equipment.

Then there's the other sticky point.

The Commonwealth used a mix of Soviet and NATO ammunition. It needed to completely become NATO-sized... luckily that was already underway, but now onto selling that equipment.

Jaredcohenian and Franberrian Governments to revitalize EE-T1 Osorio
The Franberrian and Jaredcohenian governments have begun efforts to re-assemble the design team from Engesa. Engesa is a former Jaredcohenian company that went bankrupt in the early 90’s when it found no customers for its EE-T1 Osorio MBT project. The military of Jaredcohenia and Franberry were interested in the project, but lacked the funding to start it themselves. Now, the Ministries of Defence of the before mentioned countries have put together a commission to re-start the Osorio project, and use it as a base to produce a better MBT. One of the old prototypes that had been made has been found, still sitting in a Jaredcohenian army scrap yard, albeit in bad conditions.

Franberry to study upgrade TAM fleet

The Franberrian army has also made a statement about building a prototype of an advanced TAM. The Rhinemetall gun on the TAM has been improved by Franberrian scientists and technicians, which will have a heavier punch and be lighter. The army spokesman refused to give any more information on the matter, save that the prototype is currently being studied. The upgrades to the TAM and VCTP fleet are arriving as the anniversary of 25 years of service with the Franberrian army nears.

Franberry to buy surplus Cassiopeian stock

The Cassiopeian and Franberrian governments have concluded a deal which will pass the possession of Cassiopeian military surplus into Franberrian hands. The Cassiopeian government, very eager to make the transaction, has stated that the sale was done at "relatively low prices, especially when the equipment sold is taken into consideration", both governments have refused to comment on the exact price. III. No subsidies will be given to products that go to market that place them in an unfair advantage in the market. Should subsidies be given over to businesses then a proper tariff to equalize the value will be imposed, but no more as this is a matter of market equality not punitive.

IV. All goods of signatory nations will receive special customs treatment to expedite its transition to market.

V. Professional workers may apply for special travel documentation to work in all signatory nations and have rapid access and preferred traveler status for ease of border crossing.

VI. Technological exchange is encouraged between signatory nations for the advance of the common good.

VII. Special preferred status will be given to signatory nations nationals seeking to attend university abroad. This is to foster greater cultural exchange among signatories. As well as foster greater exchange of ideas and innovations.

VIII. Military exercises between signatories is encouraged as well as intelligence sharing to foster greater joint action by signatory Military.

IX. The responsibility of Security will not fall on any one single nation.
each signatory is expected to contribute forces along with other assets and potentially bases of operation for NAEMSA related missions.

X. All signatory nations are required to offer 'safe harbor' for civilian and military persons of all other signatory nations. This does not include regular rotational duties stops for military operations rather it pertains to emergency situations.

Due to the Rise in Islamic Theocracies, General imperialism, and threats unknown in the world at large Animarnia will be increasing its military fighting power starting with a recruitment drive to raise the standing army from 51,000 to 250,000 Active Combat Troops within the year and increasing the national reserves from 21,000 to 50,000 personnel. GINN Headline News: Successful Raid In Grozniya

Grozniya-Earlier this morning, Spetsnaz forces made a successful raid against Chechen Rebel Forces in the city of Grozniya. Spetsnaz troops suffered no casualties, but the rebels, numbering were all dispatched. Only 10 were killed in the initial assault, but the other 17 were systematically executed on the spot under accordance to Executive Order 65 which passed a few weeks ago. 5 civilians were killed in the assault with 8 wounded.

Troop Buildup Continues

Sudentor-Earlier today, Vladimir Leninovsky, the famous Socialist peacenik who was finally charged with public disturbances of the first degree, was nabbed earlier today after a two week siege at his residence outside of Sudentor. Even thought it took such a long time, negotiators are happy it finally worked.

After trying to negotiate to no avail with Leninovsky and some Chechen assistants of his, Civil Protection was forced to take unorthodox measures. MUTUAL PROTECTION PACT ANNOUNCED

Earlier today a MPP was announced between Die Zweiten Reich and the Shakal Empire. The Fuhrer and the Empress met in Shakal City (RL Stockholm) early friday to speak about the arms request put in by the Reich. It appear sthe deal has went well. The Army Announced today that is has purchased an undisclosed number of Granate built Leopard 2A5 Main Battle Tanks to supplement the Armoured Core of the Animarnia Defence forces; though it is widely believed enough Leopards were purchased for an additional four armoured divisions. Animarnia being a large user of the Leopard 1 Main Battle Tank started a brief love affair with the M1 Tank that appears to be over though the Army still uses a core of M1's. The additional purchase of an undisclosed number of PzH 2000 self propelled artillery also seems to indicate the mass modernisation of Animarnia Artillery over conventional small towed field guns in the 105-150mm variants. It is widely believed these will either be sold or decommissioned by the end of the year in favour of the PzH 2000.

Budget analysts say that the Army and Airforce have been given the Lions share of the military purchasing budget this year with the Army bucking for more Eurocopter Tiger Attack Helicopters this could be the start of a long and prosperous relationship between Animarnia and Granate. Budget Analysts are predicting the Navy will get a large spending budget in 2009 with any unspent money being recycled to finance domestic projects.

The Airforce this year is looking for a new front line fighter for its ranks to give an enhanced forward strike capability from air bases in the Mauritius and French Antarctic Islands. Today, Hellsing: Aerospace announced that it was joining Embraer in it's development of the Samael Stealh Bomber. It has been reported that upwards of 10 Billion USD have been allocated by Hellsing Corp for the Samael project. Plans are also being drawn up for Samael development plans around the country.

The new legislation has raised taxes on charitable donations to the Islamic Sects to 89%, meaning that of every $100 donated to any Islamic Institution or Charity, only $11 dollars will reach their hands, with 89 being redirected as tax revenue. This is expected to dramatically reduce donations to islamic programs and initiatives inside Verchek. Additionally all clergy, regardless of religion, are now forced to pay a flat tax of 5,000 per year... seemingly fair to all, except for the fact that with such dramatic reductions in revenue, paying this will be nigh immpossible. Additionally all foriegn wire transactions will be taxed at 94% rate, leaving mere pennies to trickle into Islamic Mosques inside Verchek. Finally islamic schools have been prohibited from teaching islam during school hours, and barred from forcing children to attend after hour classes. Finally, in a seemingly spiteful spit in the face to the muslim world, import and production taxes have been raised to 150% on all copies of the Quran and other islamic texts."

The Islamic Response

Not one hour after the bill was passed, funds were draining from the coffers of the Islamic community inside Verchek. When coupled with the RPG barrage, the molotov cocktails, grenades and marauding technicals with AA Guns on the back... the only word which could describe the seen was... massacre. The Slavic Union Paramilitary Force, more commonly known to the people as the SlavCore, attacked with over 500 men, killing over 2,000, wounding countless others.

News of the attack spread like wildfire, igniting fighting across the country as Muslims took to the streets in anger, only to be met by less than friendly police... that is... if they were lucky. More commonly SlavCore militants were waiting. Terrorist attacks, such as carbombings and hijackings by Islamic Extremists rose dramatically, and of course in turn, so did public lynchings. President Arkan, also the Chairman of the Slavic Union, decided not to declare a state of emergency, for, 'local authorities were capable of handling the situation'.

Additional Actions

Libyan orphanages are being depleted, all those inside being sent to various Balkan Military bases to be raised in and by the military. It is known that if they remain in Libya, they will simply turn into the next generation of islamic extremists. They are being completely... brainwashed, made to think that the Belgrade Government is their homeland ruling party, and Libya is simply a conquered land.

Schools in Libya are also changing, with roughly 30% of the curriculum focusing on taming the youth, turning them to the side of the Republic. All islamic aspects of life are promptly being removed from public schooling. Islamic Private schooling is now being taxed so heavily, it will not be able to continue operation for very long... home schooling has been outlawed... and children whom do not attend school are enlisted in the military. Libya would be settled... it would just take time.

The Primary Eligibility requirement for the North Atlantic Economic and Military Security Accords is indeed that the nation be positioned on the North Atlantic.

Economic, or Socio-Politico ideologies are of no consequence.
Neither is ethic base, or geopolitical alignment.

The NAEMSA should not be confused with a primarily military agreement.
This is indeed not for european hegemony but to ensure that the states in the North Atlantic region are the States which continue to control the North Atlantic Region, and benefit from it economically.

There is of course nothing prohibiting any NAEMSA signatory from trade agreements and military pacts with any nation.

Simply there is no logical region for the Union of Corbournnian Socialist Republics to join NAEMSA, it has no effect on your nation, barring that it gives Honakon perhaps the ability to trade on your behalf for greater discounts in the North Atlantic which is truly encouragement for you to increase trade with
Honakon. This is after all the point, the Accords make it profitable to funnel trade through signatory nations.

We hope this not degrade the diplomatic status of any NAEMSA signatory state with your government.

There is a large difference between bitching and trying to keep a RP realistic. I did not flame or use profanity in any way, I merely pointed out the logistical immpossibility of China waging a war on Scandinavia. If that is too much to handle... well, that is not my fault.
