The City of Rome
"The Eternal City"

Name: Rome
Nation: Urcea
Popualtion: 15 Million
Leader: Emperor Julius Nero

Rome is an old city: it was founded in 753 BC. However, it is much more than a city of ruins. It is the economic capital of the Urcean empire. It is also the political capital. It has filled these roles before: in the Roman Kingdom, Republic, and Empire, as well as several other empires that have owned the city.

Rome was declared capital of the country as soon as Emperor Nero captured it. The people in Rome were actually quite pleased with Nero's capture, as no one liked the government in charge before. Nero established his throne in this city, to be historic among other things. Nero also captured Vatican City by the way of Diplomacy. Besides the capital building, Imperial Palace, etc, St. Peter's Basilica is one of the most important buildings in the Italian province and in all of Urcean Europe. The city is now a hellhole of all sorts of people: Religious figures, political figures, the people of the city (from all over Urcea) and the Emperor himself. It's become a symbol of Imperial efficiency and diversity. It has also become a symbol of Imperial Dominance: forts and military bases dot the city, making sure Rome would never be sacked again.

Rome is dominated by it's landmarks: The Palace, the Forum, the Capital, the Colosseum, the Fortresses, etc. One of the main forts is Fort McCartney, which is in the center of the city. The Emperor's shelter is under the fort, as are other's forts. The city is, in essence, just a port. Airports are very common all over the city, as are seaports. Hundreds of container and cargo ships flow in and out of Rome every day. The city is like, excuse the expression, New York on steroids. It's skyscrapers are comparable to New York, containing over 562 buildings over 25 stories high. Rome also contains the tallest building in the world: The Imperial Trade Tower.

Rumors:

1) Rome contains hundreds of armament bunkers under the city. The reason for this might be that if invaded, and if the regular army was somehow away, the people in Rome could pick up these armaments and fight for the city.

2) Rome's parks, many in number, are actually secretly covering up silos for nuclear-tipped ICBMs. The idea here is that air and missile strikes would not hit these, not knowing that they were actually silos.

ADDITIONAL INFO:

Fort McCartney:
Fort McCartney is in the center of Rome: it has a garrison of 10,000 troops. It walls are actually neutronic reactive armor, able to withstand 30 direct hits from all shell sizes up to ''18.
The weapons on the fort are all ''10 guns. These guns are on standard field carriages. They have computer gunnery sights, making sure the gunners can keep their heads down under siege.
On the interior, there are an unknown amount of SAM missiles. However, we know that there is an extremely advanced radar station inside the fort, making things, even like a B-2, as clear as day. Some speculate this is by "RADAR-DEFLECT-INTERCEPT" satellites in orbit. Stealth planes deflect radar signals: these satellites pick the signals up and send them back to the radar operator.
