A suspense thriller set in a prestigious hotel in New York. This thread is for sign-up and general discussion concerning the rp. In a way, it's similar to Disturbia and Alfred Hitchcock movies.

The Stanton Hotel in Manhattan is a well recognized and prestigious hotel. Famous celebrities and other figures of culture at one time or another, stayed in the vast hotel. It was opened in the early 1900's and continues to flourish to this day. It's banquet halls are always booked for seminars, wedding receptions, balls, and multiple others. Numerous services may be rendered for customers including an indoor spa and pool, a restaraunt and bar, as well as a gym. Penthouse suites are avaliable on the higher levels but each room in of itself is luxorious. Reservations must be made far in advance but always worth the money for anyone who desires to stay in the Big Apple in taste. It is located in the business and financial heart of New York and in close proximity to several landmarks. It's well trained and eager staff are always there to help and make your stay more comfortable. Despite all the lights and luxuries, the nighttime is quite different. The night crew is a mere skeleton crew who come in and oversee the hotel until the day shift arrives. The nights are always slow and dragging. The long monotonous hours tear at your mind as you struggle to stay busy. The night crew, in order to pass the time, begin to play a series of practical jokes on each other and eventually the guests themselves. As the nights progress, their game begins to evolve into something else. As they invade guest's privacy and spy on them, they uncover secrets about numerous guests. What first was sport, soon turns into something more sinister as a grisley murder occurs during the night shift. Upon investigation the body disappears and a dangerous cat and mouse game begins as the night crew disappear one by one. Can the remaining crew survive till dawn as they are stalked by a cunning and mysterious killer?

Brief History: Ryan grew up in Hell's Kitchen where he spent most of his childhood to a normal middle class family. His father worked in construction and her mother was a teacher. He has an older brother and a younger sister. After graduating high school Ryan went to college to major in Journalism, a subject and occupation which always fascinated him. During the summer before his last year in college, Ryan took a job as a security guard at the Stanton Hotel for the night shift. he's been working at the hotel for almost two months now. He hates the management as well as the guests and comes up with the idea to mess with them. He's always been a joker and laid back.

I've given up until I work out the kinks in it.

Meh, makes sense. I have to leave very shortly, so I'll post a character probably tomorrow.

Also, I'll play the killer. His role is actually not that big with little dialogue.

It's going to be a mature rp with plenty of suspense, betrayal, blackmail, murder, and all sorts of other things. Should make for a good thriller.

Job: Cook. Also a Security gaurd when the others are unavailable.
Heritage: Japanese
Bio: He has been working at the hotel for about ten years now, since he got out of school. Its not that he can't find a different job, it just so happens that he likes his work. He generally disapproves of the other staff pulling pranks on the guests, but he has been known to teach the more obnoioxious guests the age old rule: Don't mess with the person who prepares your food.
He is a very cautious person. His parents and he moved from Japan when he was 8, so he is bilingual, and he has an accent.

Heritage: Southern Connecticut, United States
Equipment: Hotel master key (duh), black four D-cell Maglite, handcuffs and Smith and Wessen .40cal pistol leftover from his FBI days
Bio: Retired FBI field agent now working for the private security firm providing security for the Stanton. Worked briefly on their drug interdiction teams.
He has a no BS attitude and finds the pranks being pulled on the staff and later the guests as a potential breach of security and a safety hazard.
Tough, hardened attitude at first, but warm and open to the guards that know him.
Will stop at nothing to put a stop to the pranks before they get out of hand.

That last part was to make him a suspect despite his history. Just wanted to spice it up a bit. The gun can also be removed if necessary. Possibly replaced with a knightstick or taser?

The one gun that Ruthless Slaughter has will come into play in the rp. It will be the only firearm and to make it interesting, the gun may disappear. Which will lead the night shift people to suspect one another and paranoia and mistrust ensue. But a sword? You could've said a knife to be more realistic.

Bio: Otis grew up in Jersey just outside of Atlantic City. A very laidback person, he slacked through his early years and subsequently ended up working as a janitor at the Hotel at age 27. He's been there ever since, always watching the guests, making a game of trying to figure out their personality. He is a kind and well-natured person, but he won't hesitate to pull something on a guest who is being very rude to everyone.

I really hope we do get more publicity. It's a good plotline and I've always loved a murder mystery.

Expanded Biography and Basic Personality Outline: Kathryn T. Peterson 'Kat'

Kat is a college student at NYU working on her Bachelor's Degree in Electronics and Communication, and works at the hotel during the night shift to help pay for her college expenses. She's generally indifferent about her job, though she doesn't appreciate the pranks that the staff play, she lets it go. At the beginning of this whole ordeal, she'll find that one of her cameras is repeating the same 5 minute segment over and over, and request that one of the guards investigate, as she tries to fix the problem from her end.

She doesn't scare easilly, but this is going to put her in a razor's edge of snapping. The constant danger will break her usually indifferent manner, and she'll try her best to keep her cool despite the situation.
