Internment Camp Juliet-Papa-Bravo
Londinian-controlled Lord Sumguy

"Line up, fuckwits!" shouted an army corporal from his post at the assembled detainees in the cellblock. Weeks of brutal torture had instilled in the former Sumgese citizens unquestioning obedience for their Londinian masters. It was standard policy, to detain and "recondition" denizens of hostile occupied territory. It was the best way to prevent some random John Q. Public with some romantic notion of rebellion to rise up and detonate a flurry of explosives.

But here, in the newly obtained colony of Sumatripte, policy was about to deviate. These poor, hapless, and relatively innocent civilians were going to be part of the design of one of the greatest pathogens ever developed by mankind.

Thrown into bright, austere, concrete cells, filled with monitoring equipment and observed intently by physicians of all sorts, these people would have no idea what would be happening to them.

Dr. Avakian, leader of "Project Nemesis' Ire", had elegantly designed a virus designed to systematically devastate an entire nation, without a soul being able to interfere. His virus, Xebec, was revolutionary. Some might say, "How many people have taken Ebola and made it transmissible by air and touch?" if they were to hear of this new virus. But Xebec was far more deadly than anything they could have imagined, due to the insertion of two key gene sequences. The first altered reproduction of the virus, switching it from the lytic to the lysogenic cycle. And the second coded the virus to switch back to the lytic cycle when exposed to a special frequency of electromagnetic radiation.

In effect, Xebec would be a virus that would spread silently throughout a whole population, emerging simultaneously throughout a population as soon as a certain radio frequency began broadcasting in a nation.

Testing would begin tomorrow, and Dr. Avakian couldn't wait.
