SAN ANGELO, ESTADO TERAOKA, PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF H-TOWN TEJAS

San Angelo, like most Tejano cities, was almost surrounded a swamp. The swamp wasn't as bad in San Angelo as it was in other places, but it was still a swamp. The city was fairly large, at about 10 million people, and was a growing industrial center. Because of the movie Gisela, a movie about the city which was wildly successful abroad, foreign tourists were coming to the city to see it. It was also the base of the Tejano recording industry, and was the birthplace of some of the country's most wildly successful musical artists.

For an entire decade, starting in 1988, San Angelo, and Estado Teraoka in general, had been the place nobody wanted to live. The area was devastated by civil war between Communists, the Democratic Solidarity Front, Fascists, the Government, the UN, and almost any other force imaginable. In January of 1999, the Tejano Proletariat Army seized control of the city from a fascist warlord, and the city had since been rebuilt better than it had ever been in the first place. A scanty fascist force, the Tejano Integralist Front, still remained, but the TPA was beating it to death in the state's back country.

Which is why Nagaraku Ryouta, President of the People's Republic, and Chairman of the Tejano Worker's Party, felt safe going there. The people of San Angelo liked him. He had rebuilt their city from a pile of rubble. He had freed them from the fascists and ended the seemingly endless cycle of false liberation, oppression, heavy fighting, and false liberation again. He had even written the screenplay to a killer movie about the city. There had been two attempts on his life before, and he had fought for an entire decade with guerillas, and he was still alive.

What could happen, right?

Nagaraku sat in a government Lexus IS 350. Next to him sat one of Teraoka State's TWP officials, Tsuchii Miho. Tsuchii was a pretty young woman of 21, who still had a lot of the revolutionary fervor the rest of the nation had seemingly lost. Nagaraku couldn't help but see a little of his old friend, the legendary Fujita Ichirou, in her.

"You like El Guerilla?" he asked her, when they past a poster on a telephone pole. It read: "EL GUERILLA: COMING 28 JUNE 2007 (we'll say that it's the 26 right now)" in English, Spanish, and Japanese.

"He's okay, but I'm coming to see Minmi," Tsuchii replied, "I love her."

Nagaraku nodded, "Yeah, I forgot she was coming. I like her 'Shiki no Uta.' You know, the ending for Samurai Champloo. Show kicks ass."

There was a bit of silence.

"What song do you want them to play at your funeral?" Tsuchii asked.

Nagaraku snorted, "That is both random and morbid."

Tsuchii ignored the comment, "I want them to play that song they play at graduations. You know, 'As we go on, we remember...'"

Nagaraku snickered, "You want everyone to be bawling like babies at your funeral?"

"So, you've got a better idea?" Tsuchii said, pouting a bit, "What song would you have them play?"

"Please. That's not even a question," Nagaraku said, "'Thugz Mansion' by Tupac."

It was Tsuchii's turn to snort, "How did I know..."

The IS 350 pulled up at a hotel, where two rooms were reserved for Tsuchii and Nagaraku. They were going to stay in the city for three days, after which they would return to New Fukuoka.

Little did they know what was really to happen...

ooc: Kampfers, have your guys arrive. When the concert starts, I'll describe the setting.

SIC:

Earnest Beetway, Evan Haulikias, and Clint Baxter were the three ACA operatives who had been assigned this mission. Thus far in their trip, they had taken advandtage of some top level technology and friendly relations to get to their destination. Each man had no criminal record, except for the occasional speeding ticket. They had left from the ACA base in The Peoples Freedom and traveled by public jet to Kampfers. From there they used the friendly relations of Kampfers with Wagdog and flew by public plane to Wagdog. From there, they flew on to H-Town Tejas. The last thing the commies would expect was a terrorist coming to them from another communist/socialist nation. They each carried a Siapian CT-3 Special Forces Pistol loaded with rubber bullets. These would pass through detection measures of all kinds, and luckily no one was smart enough to hand search them or their belongings. When they got in H-Town Tejas, they went to the rental car booth, and picked up a car that had been pre-arranged for them to rent, under the name of "Booth". The fake ID made in TPF worked wonders on the man. They all piled into the Infinity G35 sedan and made their way to the concert site. They would only drive by, but the quick oversight would provide crucial information to what needed to happen.

They got back to the hotel and began to formulate their plan. As always happes at a crowded concert, they knew that the police would be too busy attempting to disperse the crazy moshers than worrying about their leader's safety. As such, Evan Haulikias was chosen to go in the pit and wreak havoc. He would bide his time, jumping around with the resto fo them, but when the time came, he would start pushing and pulling, creating one monster fight. The police would be forced to take their eyes off their normal duties and break up the fight. That would give Earnest, the designated sniper, the chance to take out the president. He would need to be quick and precise, as the mosh pit fight would break up quickly once tear gas was thrown in. Clint would provide security for Earnest. If, by random chance, Earnest missed, Evan would do something crazy in an attempt to get Earnest one more shot.

OOC: Also, I'm gonna need to get that sniper from your dudes as promised.

The outdoor area the concert was to be held at was being set up as the ACA men drove by it. There was a central stage for the performers and any backup dancers that might be on it, with a DJ booth. There were bleachers being set up as well around the outskirts of the area, but the concert was one of the biggest events of the year, and there was no way there would be room for everyone to sit, so a large area was left open for people to stand in. Large speakers were set up on the stage and on the ground near it.

Back at the ACA men's hotel, somebody knocked on the door.

"Room service," a gruff voice came from the other side of the door.

The men quietly tucked in their guns. Earnest walked to the door, and unlocked it. "Come in please." He said, opening the door.

The man on the other side didn't. He simply pushed in a cart, with food on it the men hadn't ordered.

"Oh," he said, taking a black duffel of his shoulder, "The concierge said that one of you forgot this bag downstairs."

"Enjoy your stay," he said, closing the door and leaving. He then got into a closet, stripped the fake hotel uniform, and put on street clothes. He left the hotel, and was picked up on the street corner.

Inside the bag he had left was a disassembled H&K G3/SG1 sniper rifle.

The men stared at the food blankly. "Who the hell ordered this shit?" Asked Clint. They decided to take advantage of the free food and ate it anyways. They then opened the bag, and fount the sniper inside.

"Ahhh, those kind people" Evan said. He hid the dissassembled sniper in different parts of the room. People might know what it was if it was altoethger, but apart was not as likely.

OOC: Any buildings across the street from the event? I suppose lets get started.

ooc: There is a Chinese restaurant, with an apartment building above it for the family who runs it to live in. There are also a bunch of regular apartment and office buildings.

IC: Two days later, the area was packed. The line to get into the area where the concert was being held was huge, beginning to wrap around the fence that enclosed the area. The area's restaurants were all open, and all packed to the doors. Food carts were set up in the blocked-off streets, with long lines as well. People were both inside and outside hawking concert shirts and the like. The San Angelo Police were posted both inside and outside the stadium, as were plain-clothes People's Security Bureau officers. Apartments were packed with the relatives and friends of the lucky people who had a window facing the concert.

Nagaraku Ryouta stepped out of the black IS 350 he had been in two days before. Clad in a do-rag, black wifebeater, and black jean shorts, most wouldn't have recognized him...had he not worn things akin to what he was wearing time and time again in public. Tsuchii Miho, along with Vice President Josefa Phạm, General Nakahara Saki and Foreign Minister Mikel Aritza, stepped out of various other cars. Every one except the Chairman went to the back of the line with their security detail. Nagaraku jumped the line and went in the backstage entrance, just because he was MCing.

"Minmi!" he said to the Japanese R&B singer, who was applying makeup.

"Konbanwa, Nagaraku-sama," she replied, stopping to look at him. She tilted her head a bit, "What are you wearing?"

"Are you kidding? I always wear this. I wear this to like, the UN," Nagaraku said.

"No you don't," Minmi said, turning back to the mirror.

"You're right. I'm not even allowed in the UN," he said, walking past her. As he did, he gave her a slap on the butt, "Ganbatte, na?"

"Ecchi!" she shouted after him.

Nagaraku next found El Guerilla, one of his comrades during the Civil War.

"Juan Miguel! Whassup, comrade?" he said, as they made a "gangsta" handshake.

"Nothin' much, bro. Concert starts in two hours or so," he said, "Opening acts already started, but you aren't due until me and Minmi go out."

"If she's not due for two hours, why's she putting on makeup?" Nagaraku asked, sitting down.

"To look good for you?" El Guerilla replied, "She's totally hot for you."

Nagaraku snorted, snatching El Guerilla's New Fukuoka Revolutionaries hat off his head, "I wish. Now let me catch some shuteye."

IC/SIC (idk which to use... lol):

Evan walked into the concert. He had purchased a ticket, and went quickly to the middle of the standing section. From where he was standing, it would be hard for the cops to detect who was starting a fight in the pit.

Earnest and Clint were on the street behind the concert. Earnest carried a suitcase like he was visiting from out of town. Even one street over, there was still a police presence. They walked to the edge of the block where the police presence was at a minimum. When the cop looked away, both men scrambled up the fire escape which was down for some reason.

Upon reaching the top, they crouched and walked a few feet. They neared the edge on the next bulding, which was a few feet lower. Both men jumped down. The music was loud, so thankfully they didn't need to worry about the noise. From this rooftop, Earnest had a clear view of the entire stage area. He set down the suitcase, and began to unpack and assemble the sniper rifle. Lastly, he screwed on the silencer and flash suppressor. He layed the rifle and its stand down inside the edge, and layed down. No one would be able to see him until the cue was given.

Clint, meanwhile, had crawled over to the other side of the roof. he was hiding behind the edge. If someone got on the roof, they would have to take down two different men at once, both with silenced CT-3 Special Forces Pistols. This time the ammunition was live.

Hours went by, underground rappers and other artists from Tejas finished their acts. Evan was crammed into a space between a fat guy with a half-eaten, foil-wrapped chimichanga that he dropped on the ACA operative's foot thirty minutes into the concert and a couple of stoned, drunk, scantily-clad University of Teraoka girls. The cop didn't seem to notice the two foreign men who had scrambled up the fire escape.

"Na-ga-ra-ku-sa-ma."

The Chairman was awakened by a rap on his head. Minmi was staring back at him. He had El Guerilla's hat pulled over his eyes when he had gone to sleep, but El Guerilla had taken it back since.

"It's time for you. Me and Juan Miguel are about to perform," she said. She gave him another rap on the head, "Okite, ne?"

"I'm going to have you arrested for assaulting the President and the Chairman," Nagaraku said, "You'll have to stay in Tejas."

"Wait for the stage crew to cue you, huh?" he said, as he walked out. Two PSB agents, as a formality, quickly searched Minmi and El Guerilla.

Nagaraku came out onto the stage. The crowd began cheering. The first time he had done this, in 1999, people had blankly stared at him like he was insane.

He sure missed the silence.

"Comrades!" he shouted, "Are you ready for Minmi and El Guerilla?"

The response was an extremely loud mixture of "Yeah," "Si," and "Hai."

"Well, I'm not," Nagaraku said, pouting. It showed up on the large screen behind him, "Doesn't anybody in this damn country care what I think? For real."

There was laughter.

"I mean, all I want is for Minmi to come out here in something skimpier than that," he continued, "What the fuck are you, lady? A nun?"

More laughter. It was traditional, at these events, for Nagaraku to pick on the artists before they actually came out. El Guerilla knew that; Minmi didn't. He laughed; she stared incredulously, stamping her foot and saying something to him. Nagaraku couldn't hear it. Maybe it had something to do with the incredibly skimpy outfit she was wearing.

"What's that? Mother Felipa will get mad at you? She'll kick you out of the convent?" Nagaraku said.

"I don't even want El Guerilla to come out here," he continued, "Not like he can. He'll fall over those flippin' hakama he's wearing. He looks like fucking Rurouni Kenshin with those damn baggy pants. And damn, is he sagging. You can see his man thong from here. I don't know why you guys bump a rapper who's in the samurai pants-man thong cult."

El Guerilla was cracking up behind the curtain. His pants were indeed baggy, but not that baggy. And, he was sagging, but he wasn't wearing any man thong.

"But, since this is..." Nagaraku began. He then switched to tone kindergarteners when imitating somebody, "'The People's Republic of H-Town Tejas...'"

Normal voice again, "I'll let you see the nun and the man thong samurai. Performing the DJ Endou Remix of 'Samaataimu,' here you are: Minmi and El Guerilla!"

The DJ began playing the instrumental for the song. Minmi came out and began to sing the beginning of the song (El Guerilla was to come out for his part later). Nagaraku began to exit the stage.

ooc: If you'd prefer to shoot him while he's talking, I can edit this.

A great cheer arose from the crowd as their leader began to walk off. Evan shoved the fat guy into the girls, and started pushing and throwing punches. Within seconds it was pandemonium.

Meanwhile, Earnest was still laying down. He heard the uproar, and saw the president walking offstage. "Holy shit!" he whispered to himself. He popped up, and rested the sniper rifle on its stand. He took aim, and fired at the president as he walked off the stage. He took an extra second aiming, as he knew he might not get a second shot if he missed.
H-Town Tejas

"Oye, Gabby! Mira, kono puta!" one of the girls said while pointing at Evan, code-switching between Japanese and Spanish as was common in Tejas. She grabbed him and punched him in the face, "You think you're funny, bitch?"

A more sober Tejano, by name, the fat guy, pushed himself up off the ground and shouted, "PolĂcia!" The police were already coming in, trying their best to suppress the chaos.

Minmi and El Guerilla went on performing. The Chairman shook his head and began to walk off the stage.

That's when the 7.62x51mm bullet hit him in the chest. Hardly making a sound, Nagaraku grunted, falling to the ground. The music stopped, and the chaos in the crowd was joined by screaming. The DJ, El Guerilla, and Minmi ran over to Nagaraku, who coughed up blood on the ground.

"Somebody get an ambulance!" El Guerilla shouted, "We've got a sniper!"

Meanwhile, on the roof of the apartment building, a couple of teenagers, one guy, one girl, each with a bottle of cheap sake, had come out on the roof to do who knows what. When they saw the sniper, the girl screamed. The non-uniformed PSB immediately pushed their way out of the crowd, left the bleachers, one even leaving a food cart he was attending. They variously removed submachine guns and pistols from their coats, backpacks, or anything else they had to hide guns in, and ran towards the apartment complex's door and fire escape...
Kampfers

Clint quickly pulled out his silenced pistol and took out the two lovebirds. He wished the damn girl hadn't screamed. If she hadn't, they would have gotten away scot free. Anyways, they abandoned the sniper rifle. They had always used gloves when handeling it, but if those that gave it to them hadn't, well that was tehir problem now. They went to the door where the two people came out. They kicked it open, and locked it behind them. They hid their pistols and tryed to act like normal people in the party that was going on. When they saw people, they acted like they had seen them all night. There had been some heavy drinking going on in this house, so hopefully no one would notice.

Evan meanwhile, had that girl to deal with. He turned and shoved his way into the crowd behind him. Hopefully she wouldn't follow. If need be, he woud sacrifice his life for the cause. He had seen the bullet hit though. There was no way the chairman would live through that...

"'ey, ne! I'm not done with you, hakujin!" the girl shouted, following Evan. After a while, the ACA operative pushed his way into a cop.

"Where are you going in such a hurry?" the cop asked, grabbing him.

"That boy start all this shit, comrade," the girl informed the cop.

The cop looked the girl over, not letting go of Evan, "Can anybody sober tell me that?"

"Uhhh...yeah! Let me go get him!" she said, "Gabby! Doko ni el gordo?"

The cop sighed as the girl left to find the fat guy. He still wasn't letting go of Evan.

Meanwhile, the PSB began searching over the many parties going on in the apartment building. Eventually, some four reached the one the other two ACA people were in.

The leader, brandishing a PP-19 submachine gun, shouted, "Everybody, hands up! Buró de Seguridad del Pueblo! Everybody, hands up, against the wall, now!"

Chairman Nagaraku, meanwhile, was taken off the stage on a stretcher to an ambulance which had pulled up just outside where the streets were blocked off. The hospital wasn't particularly far away, but Nagaraku's current condition didn't look so promising. All officials and performers except Tsuchii Miho, who was going along with Nagaraku, had already been ushered away by the Presidential Security Unit.

"Officer, this girl is crazy! We were in there moshin' and that fat guy fell on her, but he said I pushed him. I didn't do nuttin officer!" Evan was squirming, but in his heart he was cold. He was only putting on the outer show to get away.

Meanwhile, the two Kampferians complied with the officer. They had hidden their silenced pistols quietly just before the cops arrived, underneath the make-shift bar. You would have to know they were there to find them. Both operatives had grabbed a beer or two and had dranken half of them, giving the apearance that they had been there a while. While they did not exactly fit in, everyone was so drunk they they would have thought that they had been there the whole night. And the operatives had proceeded to learn other peoples names during the time before the cops arrived. But for now they were standing with their backs agains the wall.
H-Town Tejas

The officer rolled his eyes. Maybe he hadn't been to a concert since 1994, but usually, you didn't start moshing during the slow intro to a song. Minmi had hardly started singing, for crying out loud.

The girl, her friend Gabby, and the fat guy came back.

"Did this guy push you into those girls?" the officer asked.

"Yeah," the fat guy said, "And then all this chaos started."

The officer pulled out a pair of handcuffs, "Comrade, I'm going to have to put you under arrest for disturbing the peace. Sorry about this..."

"Abegail," the girl filled in, "And this is Gabby, and this is..."

"Flaco," the fat man said.

"Sorry about this, Abegail, Gabby, and Flaco," the officer said, cuffing Evan, "Let's go, comrade."

Back in the apartment, the leader got a text on his cellphone.

"Roof's got two corpses and a sniper," it said, "Nobody else."

The leader sighed, then said, "Okay! Is anybody here not drunk off their feet?"

Two or three guys came forward. Designated drivers, most likely.

"Who's come in here recently, or left recently, then came back?" he asked.

"Ummm...those two hakujin there," one said, pointing out the Kampferians, "And... him, him, and him."

"Take those five in for questioning," the leader said to the two other PSB guys.

One came over to Clint and Ernest, "You two are wanted for questioning. Come with me, please."

The operatives went with the cops. They knew there was no evidence against them at this point, and that they were trained not to talk about their organization. They followed the officers out of the building.

Evan looked at the officer, then at the girls who were retreating. "Man, they don't let you do anything at a concert anymore... Alright officer, I did it. Whats my penalty going to be? Money? An overnighter?"

ooc: Whatever. I don't really care if they do or not.

IC: The ambulance sped towards San Angelo General Hospital. It still didn't seem like it was fast enough. Nagaraku was quickly losing blood, and his pulse was growing weaker. It didn't seem like he would make it there.

"Will I survive all the fights and the darkness?
Trouble sparks, they tell me home is where the heart is, dear departed
I shed tattooed tears and couldn't sleep good
for multiple years, witness peers catch gunshots."

"So, this time it's for real, huh?" Nagaraku said. His voice was raspy and pained, as if merely speaking was agonizing.

"Nobody cares, seen the politicians ban us
They'd rather see us locked in chains, please explain
why they can't stand us, is there a way for me to change?
Or am I just a victim of things I did to maintain?"

"You've survived worse, Chairman. Just hold on," Tsuchii replied, holding back tears.

"I need a place to rest my head
with the little bit of homeboys that remains, cause all the rest dead
Is there a spot for us to roll, if you find it
I'll be right behind ya, show me and I'll go."

"No, I haven't. This is the worst I can remember," Nagaraku replied, "This is the end of the line for me. Bastard fascist mothafuckas."

"How can I be peaceful? I'm comin from the bottom
Watch my daddy scream peace while the other man shot him
I need a house that's full of love when I need to escape
the deadly places slingin drugs, in thug's mansion."

"Tell Katsurou and Ran I love them, and that I'm sorry I couldn't be around more often," he said, "And Miho?"

"Yes, Chairman?" Tsuchii said.

"God damn, stop calling me 'Chairman.' I'm tired of being 'Chairman.' Call me Tetsu," Nagaraku said, "What I was going to say was...get these motherfuckers for me, na?"

"Yes, Ch...Tetsu," Tsuchii said, wondering where the hell that name had come from, "I will."

"I know," Nagaraku said, smiling that mischievous, cocky smile which he was famous for.

And then, the pulse machine flatlined.

"Ain't no place I'd rather be
Chillin' with homies and family
Sky high, iced out paradise
In the skyyyyyyyyyy...Thugz Mansion."

"Probably," the officer told Evan, "Let's go."

Ernest and Clint were taken by the PSB to their HQ in San Angelo. They were both put in separate interrogation rooms and told to wait until their interrogators were ready to question them.

"____?" he said, looking at the ID the man was carrying, "You're from _____?"

"I'm sorry about this, there are just a few things we need to clear up with you and all your friends," he continued, "This is very serious, you understand. The Chairman was just assassinated. Died on his way to the hospital."

OOC: It doesn't matter. Let's say they were a couple of College buddies from Vetaka. Bill and John.

IC:

"It's John sir. I'm a student in Vetaka. Actually, my friend and I were invited to that party earlier today. We saw the large crowds and stopped to see what was happening. Miguel saw us, and asked if we had tickets. When we told him no, he invited us to the party. He didn't really tell us when to show up, and that's why we were late. Since you brought in all the latecomers, I assumed you'd want to know that." Earnest showed no emotion on his face, except a slight bit of anxiety, which would be common for anyone in his position. If they got to hot on his trail, he would just clam up.
H-Town Tejas
29-06-2007, 21:56
Macieira nodded. Inside, he chuckled a bit. He had a crack.

"John" may have heard the name Miguel, maybe even met Miguel, at the party, but it wasn't anybody who had hosted it. That apartment belonged to an elderly couple who were visiting with relatives in Austin. In fact, he had talked to a Miguel Correa just earlier. It was one of the latecomers. Up until about 9:55 (assassination had gone down about 10:05), Miguel was variously trying to get his car fixed so he could drive to the party, arguing with his girlfriend, and buying a milkshake. Miguel wouldn't have had much time to invite anybody, not to mention he wasn't actually invited himself, just coming with a friend.

That didn't prove much, of course. Maybe John was just a party crasher. But they'd have to look into it. He'd have to see if John knew any of this.

He was about to check when he got a call.

"Macieira," he said.

"We found prints on the rifle. A suspected TIF sympathizer. William Robert Mahon," another PSB agent said, "He's at an all-night diner. Get in your car. We're taking him now."

"Got it," he said. Annoying, but he'd deal. They had a solid lead; he had somebody with a screwy story. He'd deal with "John" later.

"I gotta go. Your friends are still here. We need to ask you and them a few final questions, so stick around here for a sec," he said. As he left, he bumped into a lady who worked at a desk. She dropped something, and he caught it. It was a full bag from a nearby taco shop.

"Give them tacos, huh, Jaime? They all look like they're starving," she said, before she walked off to the copy room.

'Okay, Hospitality Hanako,' he thought. He threw the bag over to his partner.

"Offer all of them tacos," he said, "I've got a fascist to take down."
