National Military Corporation (Storefront 2.0)

Note: New weapons may appear on the storefront as I design them. I'll post them here after vetting by the Draftroom at http://z4.invisionfree.com/NSDraftroom .

Also, I may upgrade a design. If that happens, nations who have the older design can automatically RP having information about the new design, and can buy upgrades from the storefront.

RULES OF NMC STOREFRONT!

1. Production rights to equipment will be negotiated for. Anything not labeled as original or sponsored is RL gear and you can RP that you already have DPR's, but I'm not above fleecing n00bs who don't read the fine print.

2. If you don't want to make a storefront, or you have made a storefront and it's not getting any customers, or you're simply banned from making storefronts (yes, it happens! (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=531238)) contact me via TG or post and I'll sponsor your equipment, taking a 10% cut (as compared to Kriegzimmer's 50%).

3. Do your own math, or face a 10% surcharge that can break the back of a new nation's economy with a large order. Use a calculator, and most computers have a calculator function for even more powerful addition and multiplication. If you have money to burn, use Mathematica (Google it, I'm too lazy to link.)

4. BLOCKADE POLICY: NMC will ship through a blockade. However, due to the dangers of shipping or flying through a blockade, and the expense of security vessels, a 20% surcharge will be assessed. From there, you have two choices: One, simply accept the supplies magically appearing in your bases, with 40% of them missing as losses from engaging the blockading fleet (so you would be paying 120% of the normal fee, and getting 60% of the goods), or an effective 100% increase in price - or two, I can RP the shipments arriving, engaging the blockading fleet, and hopefully getting more of the goodies to your shores.

Kahanistan Military Industries, National Aerospace Corporation of Kahanistan, and former Samizdat Corporation subsidiary General Security Inc. are pleased to announce that they have merged to form the National Military Corporation. While many of the Middle Eastern arms KMI is famous for will still be sold in our storefronts, many original weapons will also be offered for general export for the first time.

Items marked *NMC Original* can only be found here. If you find someone else marketing my goods, drop me a TG so I can flame their ass into oblivion.

Items marked *NMC Sponsored* are foreign arms whose producer has contracted with NMC for them to sell their arms with a 10% commission.

NMC arms fall into the following categories:

NAVAL VESSELS

In ancient times, navies were cave people on floating logs with spears. In less ancient times, navies were still people with spears, but on expertly designed wooden craft. Just as ancient ships range from the deadwood log to the mighty Hellenic fleet sent against the Trojans, our ships range from the lowly inflatable landing craft to the most imposing of super dreadnaughts.

WEAPONS OF MASS DECEPTION

WMD are not as modern as one might think; biological weapons were used by Crusaders in the form of rotting carcasses flung into enemy strongholds to spread disease, and Vlad Tepes (1431-1476) was known to send people with dangerous diseases into enemy camps to mingle and kill large numbers of enemy Turks.

Biological weaponry has much improved since a deranged Wallachian general ruled what we now call Romania, and is now accompanied by chemical and nuclear weapons which thankfully were not invented in medieval times before there was any sense of moderation on the battlefield.

History

The air defenses of Kahanistan suffered unacceptably high losses during its wars with the CAD states of Doomingsland and MassPwnage. With radar effectively unable to activate, and the Gulf War-era tactic of shutting off radars after firing proving ineffective against the more modern Doomani missiles, it was decided that a new air defense missile be designed that was immune to SEAD. Kahanistan Military Industries therefore looked to the British Starstreak missile, a short-range, MANPAD-compatible missile that was, in fact, incapable of being suppressed with anti-radar missiles.

KMI and the Ministry of Defense, however, decided that while the Starstreak met their requirements of invulnerability to HARM's, its range and lack of proximity fuses for its munitions were insurmountable shortcomings. KMI, therefore, began work on a similar missile to the Starstreak. While the missile to be dubbed the King Cobra would also use laser beam riding guidance, it would also address the shortfalls of the Starstreak in its design, and be capable of firing from a fighter or land-based air defense, and ideally also be capable of firing from a MANPAD or light vehicle.

Specifications:

Length: 1.1 meters
Diameter: 105 mm
Payload: 35x1000 mm tungsten penetrator
Mass: 35 kg
Range: 22 km
Speed: Mach 1.7
Guidance
Primary: Laser beam
Secondary: Radar
Production Cost: 300,000 USD
Export Cost: 500,000 USD
DPR: 5 billion USD (for all variants)
Variants: M579DU, depleted uranium penetrator, M579X, uses high explosive in addition to penetrator, M579DU-CW, substitutes chemical weapon container for high explosive
Attack profile: Direct fire, top-attack

Overview:

The M-579 Dragontooth anti-tank guided missile was designed by the National Military Corporation of Kahanistan for use in the M7T1 and M7T2 Spartacus MBT variants. Since a 105mm shell will not generally penetrate the front armor of a modern tank and rarely gets a chance to deliver a top-attack profile, it was decided to produce a missile capable of firing from a 105mm gun and delivering a powerful blow against most modern armour.

When the M-579 strikes its target, the front part of the missile is crushed as the penetrator presses into the enemy vehicle. Once the penetrator has entered all the way, the high explosive portion of the missile, if one is used, impacts with the hull of the enemy tank, exploding and hopefully eliminating enemy infantry support as well as further damaging the tank.

Should the penetrator fail to pierce the armour of the tank and be crushed or broken, the explosive behind the penetrator should still detonate and cause mild to moderate spalling, though likely not sufficient to overwhelm a decent spall liner.

For use against particularly despised enemies, or in homeland defense, the M579DU, which uses a depleted uranium penetrator, is not only more effective but can cause all sorts of health problems by exposing the enemy to depleted uranium. Against truly hated foes a chemical or biological weapons component can be substituted for the explosive to bring a horrifying death to infantry support, as well as surviving tank crew if the tank does not have proper NBC protection.

History

Kahanistan Military Industries long desired a heavy weapon capable of being used by the average infantry grunt. Some of the more pragmatic politicians suggested purchasing Doomani weapons or production rights thereto, an action rejected by the overwhelming majority in the Senate and the public at large for political reasons. Others suggested mass importation of Sarzonian arms - ten million S-200 battle rifles had been purchased in the last six months, but DPR were unavailable - leaving Kahanistan's forces out of battle rifles should supplies be cut off. In desperation, Republic Guard generals contacted KMI for development of an indigenous battle rifle.

Design

The GPBR, designated as the M-67, features a bullpup configuration for compactness, making it usable in the carbine role or as a PDW, and the use of the KMI 8x65mm caseless round means that the weapon is suitable for left and right handed users.

The M-67 is capable of mounting a bipod to improve accuracy, especially useful for small teams of Special Combat Service personnel laying an ambush, in which the accuracy of the first shot is critical. It also mounts two sights, a green light dot and a crosshair for cases where the light blends in with the target's uniform, the light is damaged, or is otherwise unusable.

To protect the operator from the recoil of such a powerful weapon discharging at 2,400 meters per second (as the original specifications required, although the design was revised to 1,100 m/s), the rear fifty millimeters of the stock are composed entirely of rubber. This rubber buffer, analagous to the bumper on one's car, absorbs much of the impact of the recoil. For added protection, the weapon can, with intense training, be fired from the hip with the butt against the operator's body armor.

The frame of the weapon is compatible with mounting an overslung KMI M-86 500mm switchblade-style bayonet and / or an underslung M-203 grenade launcher.

Durability

The M-67 General Purpose Battle Rifle has been shown capable of resisting impacts such as being used as a club on a helmeted soldier, dropped out of a helicopter at 500 meters, and being fired while caked with plaster of Paris liberally poured down the barrel.

The barrel, made of nickel chrome, is capable of firing a mean of 60,591 rounds (n = 500, st.d. = 1,282) before failure. Corrosive rounds are not recommended for use with the M-67; it could only fire a mean of 7,396 rounds (n = 500, st.d. = 1,103) before failure using specially designed corrosive rounds. (Corrosive ammunition is not a staple of Kahanistanian armament, and the rifle was not built around its use.) Pure sulfuric acid poured over the exterior of the weapon did not have a statistically significant effect on the durability of the weapon (probability of error: .005).

Lethality

In tests, the 8x65mm KMI round was shown to be capable of killing a fully grown male African elephant in one shot. Tests on African wildebeest often resulted in the bullet piercing one animal and entering a second or even third wildebeest before slowing down. The bullets often left wounds of over 120mm diameter on the wildebeest.

History

After the invasion and occupation of Kahanistan by Doomingsland, the founders of the new state in Haven composed of refugees from the onslaught decided they would never again be displaced. To that end, the Defence Ministry invested heavily in biological, chemical, and nuclear weapons so as to have MAD capability with potential rivals in the region.

Of course, a delivery system for these weapons capable of reaching hostile regimes had to be devised. This implied the construction of a whole new class of ballistic missiles to replace the old Peacekeepers in use prior to the Doomani invasion.

Overview

The missile, christened "Alamo" as it would only be used in an Alamo-style situation (where all hope was lost) was designed with simplicity in mind. It relies on inertial guidance, so the destruction of supporting satellites will not prevent the use of the missiles as it would if they relied on GPS or more advanced navigation.

For its extreme range, necessary to strike distant targets in CAD, Gholgoth (which was considered a potential threat at the time), or on the other side of Haven, a LiF mixture was considered despite its extreme instability and difficulty of storage, but the storage facilities proved too expensive and a nirogen tetroxide - hydrazine mix was decided upon for the final fuel. However, owing to the original plan to use a LiF mixture, the construction of the Alamo missile is of very robust design. Like the Russian Bulava SLBM still in use in the Republic Navy, the Alamo is rated to withstand nuclear attack up to half a kilometer.

Furthermore, the Alamo is capable of dropping chaff, flares, and other ABM countermeasures to reduce the effectiveness of the missile.

Firing

Firing is simple; the missile is simply moved to (or built in) an underground silo, erected, and fired. Due to the widespread use of ground-penetrating radars, it is recommended that jammers be employed above when preparing to fire.

The missile comes out from its underground silo (or theoretically, a heavy battleship / super dreadnaught ballistic missile launcher) and enters the atmosphere at high speed.

At this point, the MIRV thrusts back towards the Earth at Mach 28. About 2,000 kilometers from the nearest target, the individual warheads begin to detach, firing on their targets. The 1,500 kilogram payloads of the 20 individual warheads can carry up to a five-megaton bomb, or can be used as dispersal devices for highly radioactive caesium-137 or cobalt-60, as well as biological, chemical, incendiary or conventional weaponry.

Alternatively, one 30-ton warhead can be attached to the MIRV, weighing in at 100 megatons; this is not recommended as if it is shot down, the missile is wasted, whereas a missile with 20 warheads can sustain up to 95% losses while still doing damage.

Overview

With the Alamo MIRV showing promise as an effective munition, engineers insisted on a substantially larger model than originally posited, one more closely resembling a space shuttle than an ICBM.

While this would do for a deterrent as long as the launch sites were protected, a more resilient system was needed - and it would not allow for the massive warheads originally desired. It was decided to scale the design down and use smaller munitions.

The Little Alamo also has the ability to mount a single large warhead, a three-ton munition delivering a ten-megaton blast. This missile is intended to replace the Bulava SLBM in use in the Republic Navy.

OOC: Is this storefront open or are you still setting up?
If it is then.

IC:
Seeing some of the more clever designs and requiring a more neutral supplier we have turned to you.

For our first test buy we would like to purchase:

2500 M-67 general-purpose battle rifles: 6,500,000
15 Security Packages: 19,500,000
and
40 F-2 Insurgents: 3,800,000,000
Perhaps accessing production rights later, as we are a nation heavily into VTOL craft, perhaps we can design you a naval exclusve variant.

To: National Military Corporation, Kahanistan

Given our desire to collaborate with KMI in the development and proliferation of certain excellent Kahanistani technologies, as well as to build up a technical reserve in case our current suppliers or production licenses were somehow cut off, we wish to procure domestic production rights for the following.

M7T2 Spartacus Main Battle Tank ($24 Billion USD)
M67 General Purpose Battle Rifle ($2.6 Billion USD)
M579 Dragontooth Antitank Guided Missile (5 Billion USD)
Little Alamo MIRV ICBM (250 Billion USD)
AIM-77 King Cobra (32 Billion USD)
TOTAL: $313.6 Billion USD

Money in the required sum stands ready for wiring, and we are not under a blockade presently so we don't expect difficulty with the shipment as yet. Especially seeing as, these being DPR blueprints, tooling and so, the delivery should be fairly rapid.

We would also like to inquire as to whether the political restrictions for the F-2 Insurgent VTOL fighter still stand at their prior "Good +" level or have been lowered to a rating more comparable to the Spartacus' "Some +" requirement. If not, it is no great issue and we can do without until certain planned reforms of ours take effect; the design simply interests us as a potential "last ditch" fighter aircraft in the worst-case scenario of our current suppliers becoming hostile and revoking production rights accordingly, being overrun by hostiles, or both (very worst-case scenario).

Our Thanks,
James Dolands

The Defence Ministry has not authorised us to release the F-2 for domestic production to your nation at this time; the remainder of the order is confirmed.

We advise that our own shipping lanes are heavily contested; it is increasingly difficult for us to merely move our civilian transports out of the nation. The blueprints can be transmitted over secure channels.
