Official Message from the Allanean Government to the Pantocratorian Imperial Family

To His Most Catholic and Imperial Majesty, Emperor Andreus, Autocrator of the Romans, Caesar Augustus, King of France and Navarre, Equal of the Apostles, God's Vicegerent on Earth, the Very Christian, the Most Pious, Sebastocrator, King of Kings Ruling over those who Rule, Grand Master of the Chivalric Order of the Pantocrator, Grand Master of the Royal and Military Order of Saint Louis.

Your Majesty!

You are likely well-aware of the recent events in the Pantocratorian capital. You also know, of course, that the events were not in any way, shape, or form, the fault of the Allaneans. You also know that our diplomats are already doing their best to remove the needless tensions between our two governments.

But you also know that sometimes, governments are forced to make not only practical moves such as what is currently discussed by our respective diplomats, but a variety of public relations' moves to show the general populace that the situation is, indeed, improving. Sometimes these are hard to do, and at other times, quite easy.

What we would like to offer to you is easy: we would like to invite Your Majesty, Princes Andreu, Constantine, and Basil, as well as Princesses Theodora and Irene, for a tour of the shores of mainland Allanea aboard the luxury cruiser Harmodius. We beg your Majesty's most esteemed pardon, but we are currently unable, due to circumstances beyond our control to invite the lovely Zoe Capet. As compensation for this, we would like to send to her a variety of diamond jewelry, seized by our victorious armed forces during the Allanean-Doomani conflict.

Further, as a personal gift to your majesty, please accept the attached diamond necklace and the painting Sunset at San Nereiana by one of Allanea's best painters, Tibalt Grant.

Similar invitations were also extended to all members of the Pantocratorian Cabinet and Parliament. However, they were warned that the prospected party would only take place if the Emperor and his family were present.

Your Excellency,

We are of course aware of the events to which your letter referred. The Palais de la Cour Criminelle is a short distance from the Imperial Court of Christ Pantocrator, where We were resident at the time, along with Our court and household. As a result of the attack on the capital, We were compelled, along with Our household and court, to take refuge in such bunkers as exist underground beneath the Imperial Court of Christ Pantocrator, so as to ensure the safety of Our friends and family, not to mention Our own person. We could not help but be aware, therefore, of the attacks.

We regard with suspicion, however, the assertion that Allanea was not the cause of those events which were the source of the inconvenience to Our person, and worse, the cause of the death of several of Our subjects, including worthies of the Empire, not to mention foreigners. This assertion is contrary to the best advice of Our ministers, who have further advised Us that it would be imprudent to accept your invitation to tour the Allanean coastline.

We agree with this advice, and therefore advise you that We decline your invitation. We have instructed that the gifts enclosed with your invitation be returned.
