A Word from the Manufacturer

Greetings, Western Armaments has recently allowed for the complete export of the Model Seven Personal Defense Weapon, currently our only arms export available. The Model Seven currently sees service within the Western Motors Defense Forces where it has replaced the Model Six personal defense weapon and now serves as the exclusive sidearm/mainarm of all armor personnel and logistical services. We believe the Model Seven can serve similar roles abroad, especially considering it is a capable and well designed firearm.

We would like to thank you in advance for your interest in the Model Seven and the consideration you may have placed into its adoption or purchase. Thank you from Western Armaments Corporation.

Western Armaments Model Seven Personal Defense Weapon (M7 PDW)

The Western Armaments Model Seven personal defense weapon served as the export successor to the Model Six personal defense weapon. The Model Six, although termed as a Personal Defense Weapon within the Western Motors Defense Forces, wasn’t much of a PDW in terms of export capability. The export market expected a weapon providing small size, short range, ability to punch through average body armor, and general usefulness. The M6 was partially some of all of those but it was generally believed to be too bulky to be a true personal defense weapon, with most of its users considering it to be, instead, a carbine rifle, only further compounded by the fact that it used a ‘shortened’ rifle round as its primary caliber.

The Model Seven sought to create a personal defense weapon more suitable for the export market, yet still offering several M6-like features. Eventually, however, the Model Seven became a whole, separate design in and of itself. To accompany the new design was a new chambering and round, which would eventually also enter service in the Western Motors Defense Forces, particularly, alongside the crews of MCA-7C Timber Wolf tanks and most logistical components of the Defense Forces.

The Model Seven provides the user with a simple, reliable weapon. The exterior shell is composed of a tough, texture plastic, while all interior components are machined steel and aluminum. To field strip the weapon, two pins (accessible from the left side, one in the forward portion of the weapon, the other just behind the magazine well) must be removed (alternatively, partial field stripping can be accomplished by only releasing one or the other pin depending on which portion of the weapon you wish to access). The upper receiver, and rear of the weapon, can then be completely removed from the lower receiver and forward portion of the weapon (including the trigger components, etc.). A small cleaning and maintenance kit is held within a small storage area within the rear portion of the weapon between the magazine well and the extendable butt stock (only accessible via field strip). In its most basic form, the Model Seven is exceedingly short, offering very little space forward of the trigger assembly, although with an extended barrel and rail interface system, enough space for a hand guard, or vertical grip, or any other rail system can be added. A standard top mounted rail system comes standard with foldable, removable rear and forward iron sights. A carrying handle or any other addition such as a reflex sight, optical gun sight, etc. can be added to the rail system.

Instead of the prior 6x36mm Western Armaments Short round used previously (the chambering is still available as an offering), the Model Seven is chambered in 5x31mm Granger with a thirty grain armor piercing bullet (among other bullet designs). The five millimeter shorter casing, and full millimeter smaller round results in a faster velocity, greater accuracy, but reduced knock-down ability (sacrificed to allow for sufficient punch-through ability on armor, lighter ammunition weight, etc.).
