The thin gangly fingers of Kar August flickered over the glimmering control panel as various commands were imputed. His tall, perceiving structure looked out over the hall of prisoners and rejoiced in the thousands of brown, contorting slabs, while his wide searching eyes focused upon a distant section, a lone corner, surrounded by a distant field of blue lethal energy. “Ahhh yes.” August said to himself. “I believe this is the one.”

From far beyond the clear duraplex window of the control centre, a droid mechanism activated and grappled onto a thick Carbonite block, it's side glimmered with lights and controls, while its surface was coiled in frozen liquid, all of it crushing inwards upon its host.

“As you can see here, the reanimation process should be quite painful, though it is no more than this creature deserves.” August like a mantis, filled with venom and calculation turned towards the small bay on where the prisoner was entered.

“I want him undamaged.”

“We will do our best.” Was all August could guarantee. The Carbonite freezing and thawing is infamous for being notoriously dangerous. Ignoring the possible implications of death for his patients was a trait the Kaminoan prided himself in. Though despite his own personal dislikes, the malevolent shadow stalking him, insured that no mishaps would, could happen today. Signalling to his human aids the bringer of death, was for the first time, going to allow life.

Instructing his aids to ready the life support equipment August was visibly in no mood to take any risks. He knew, just as everyone did that the Carbonite could super compress a subject and cause them to rapidly decompress in their limbs and organs, it had been known to happen, and today August hoped that such a painful experience would grace this character as he returns to the waking world.

The thawing already begun since the block had passed through the force field began to melt away with every passing second. It's electronic equipment on the side finally died and shutdown as it's capacitors delivered a final jolt of energy to break down the last few chemical bonds holding the structure together.

A pale steam coiled upwards from the bed, and in place, a screaming man arrived, Angered, furious, incapable of walking or seeing, yet still filled with emotion and serenity.

“Welcome back, Jedi Knight Hawkins, we are always so pleased to see you.” August failed to win anyone over with his false gesture, instead the Kaminoan allowed the droids to see to their patient. Their cold mechanical hands offered only pity, to an enemy of the Empire.

He had heard once that those who are frozen in carbonate are not aware of their condition, that to them from the moment of freezing until they are thawed is like that of only a single second.

They were wrong.

Hawkins was aware of his condition and of his inability to do anything to effect it. It was not a surrender rather acceptance to his position. Years had passed while he was frozen and he dreamed the entire time. He dreampt of many things, his home, The Farstars Confederacy, his fellow jedi, and of his wife. He could no longer protect any of them as he should, since his capture.

He remembered that day, he had tried to help Daniel Masaki, he had hoped at the time he could convince his fellow Jedi to aide him in the hunt of the Sith Lord Nightshade. In the end Danny had fled, betraying Hawkins and leaving him alone to face the overwhelming odds of the Empire.

What happened after that was as much a blur as it was confusing. He was beaten and starved. Tortured but not for information, simply for the pleasure of it. After that on Wayland he had been forced to fight in a gladiatorial arena, and fight he had until one day it was decided to freeze him.

His first sensation in a long time was that of unbelievable pain. He heard someone screaming and only after a long unbearable minute did Hawkins realize that it was his own voice. Then he heard another voice, that of Kar August.

"At least I can't say the same, hows the nose Auggie, I hope i didn't break it in to many places last time." The battered and scarred Jedi Master replied with a grin.

Kar August responded by sending a jolt of electricity through the Jedis body, Hawkins neck shackled in an Imperial obedience collar. “Yes, I'm afraid I hold many grudges from that, incident Jedi.” August pushed it again.

“August, release him.” Came the stern voice of an Imperial Moff. “He is to be treated well, the emperor has plans for this one.” The tall regal Kaminoan turned angered at his lack of station. Once, he was the chancellor of the empire, he was in command, until Daniel Masaki ruined it all, and ever since he had been skulking in the depths of the laboratories of Coruscant, dealing with abominations such as Hawkins.

“Very well, jeehdai, we will take you to your room.” August sent another jolt through his body, just for savouring. “Your cell is standard, a white room, with no furniture or possible weapons.” These droids will carry you. August waved his hand ordering two servitor droids to drag the limp Hawkins to his cell.

As this was transpiring, August reviewed the medical data. “His rate of revival is astonishing, his cells are already regaining their full metabolic rate, his brain activity is as though he weren't in Carbonite at all.” August glanced down the hallway. “Call in more security, this one is dangerous.”

Grand Moff Tarkin glanced up at the Kaminoan, “Just how dangerous?”

Hawkins managed to get to his knees after the shocks of the collar forced him to the floor. He was a Jedi Master and could make it so pain did not affect his body or mind and voluntary actions, but the body also responded in the way it would to involuntary stimulus. So all the Force in the universe could not block the electrical connection fired by a bodies nerves. He begain though to be able to move his extremities , first it started with a few twitches of his toes and fingers but so he realized he could move much more, however his vision was still impaired. He could sense with the Force however and the Force was a powerful ally.
It all occurred in the flash of a second, Hawkins arms filled with the strength of the force and reinforced by his biological modification broke the restraints around his wrists, in the next moment they went to his next and his thick fingers simply crushed the obedience collar rendering it so much scrap. The imperial would have just been over coming their shock at his actions when Hawkins went into motion, his left leg swung out to contact August’s knee cap. Hawkins swung around using his momentum to get behind the Moff, one hand around his neck ready to crush all the bones in it.
“I once dueled with your Emperor Tarkin, and I am still here. How dangerous do you think that makes me?” Hawkins said.
“We have reached a crossroads here guys. You have a decision to make, Get me a shuttle out of here, or we will start to do things my way. What will it be?”

August stared at Hawkins with a mischievous glint in his eyes, while Tarkin just stood there frozen as several guards pushed their way into the room, blasters pointed and aimed. “No one will let you leave this building alive Jedi, but perhaps if you listen for a moment we can work something out?”

August took a few steps back nervously hiding behind the guards. “Shall I set the collar to kill Moff Tarkin?”

"No no, this Jedi shouldn't be stupid enough to miss out on a chance to kill Darth...... Nightshade."

It was a ludicrous position with Hawkins who was a quite large man, tall and thick with muscle to be using the aging Moff as a human shield. But the galaxy had gone mad long before he was frozen in carbonate.

"I was never really one for negotiation." He said gruffly, "And I will deal with Fiona on my own time, I will not beg the scraps of your table August. Now move aside or the Moff will have a 5mm hole burned through his jugular." Hawkins said pushing his finger hard into Tarkins neck.

He had began his military career as a Force Recon Marine. Their primary missions were infiltration. His body had been modified, his skeleton reinforced, his reflexes controlled by a nano-computer that operated servos tied to his joints and nerves. He also had energy weapons integrated in his body, such as his fingers. He preferred not to use them as they would blow off the tips of his fingers in a painful fashion, but such things would grow back in time. He mentally checked his weapons the were all functioning and online. It appeared they had attempted to tamper but removal and disarmament was impossible, it would trigger a self-destruct and the Emperor must have wanted him alive.

"No Hawkins." Tarkin said in a final tone of voice. "You will release me, and we will release you. There is no escaping this room, no holding me hostage." A finger pressed inwards slightly causing the Moff to falter just a little bit. "Release me, and we will address your concerns. Otherwise, these guards here will execute you." Several more now came in from the door behind flanking the Jedi.

"You are running out of options Hawkins." August looked at Tarkin hoping, just hoping that the Moff would be killed.

"Jedi, release me, and we will execute the cloner."

"By the gods. It like I am stuck between two bickering girls in junior high school." Hawkins said as the two imperials yacked on.

"Have him killed now, If you have the authority to do so Tarkin. If you can't then what good are you to be really. From the looks of things" He laughed at that still blind as he was, "Ole Auggie wishes you to be dead, what a pitiful dilemma." Well he had to do something, and Hawkins was a firm believe that committing to a good plan now with violence and intensity was better than waiting for a great plan tomorrow. The only problem was that this, what he was about to do didn't even qualify as a good plan.

His finger quickly pointed at August as a laser burned through the ugly alien's shoulder, instead of his heart. Hawkins aim was a little off being blind an all. Then he spun and a thick anti-armor beam shot from his left foot, it was capable of downing armor vehicles, it managed to make a new door quite handily, except now his foot was bleeding quite a lot. With a grunt and still holding Tarkin he ran from the room, as stun blasts impacted all around him.

"Where is the hanger bay in this place, and what fucking planet on we on?" Hawkins said as they made their escape.

Tarkin was dragged through the hole in the wall into a large corridor filled with streaming torrents of administrators, officers and storm troopers. The traffic flow was quite incredulous, the sheer number of staff that existed on even one of the lowest tiers of the palace baffled even a Moffs eyes. “What fucking planet are we on?”

Tarkin struggled a little but as Stormtroopers began pushing their way through the crowd towards the two. “Coruscant you idiot.” Tarkin almost felt himself laugh as Hawkins tightened the grip around his neck. “Even if you were to get to a shuttle, you would never be able to leave orbit, it is simply out of the question.” A stun blast narrowly missed Tarkin as a panic started to erupt. Shortly after, the intruder alarm sounded.
