Saya walked out of the mansion with Dag5 and saw the Mustang, "Wow, is that your car Dag"?

"Well, no, its a rental, unfortunately my car is back in Shenyang, but this is pretty close."

He walked around the car and opened her door for her. Then once she was inside he went back around and turned on the navigation system. He gave it the parameters, and waited for it to give him some destinations.

He started the car and it purred quite happilly. He liked this car, maybe he should put it on the SAS list for reserves when a team deployed.

Finally the system gave him some destinations.

"So, which one would you like to go to Saya?"

Saya leaned over and looked carefully at each of the restraunts listed. Hoping price wasn't an issue, she pointed to one, "Thst one looks good, how about it huh"?

OOC: Its kinda funny, right now, I'm trying to type out a date, and meanwhile, on another thread, I'm threatening the life of a foreign observer... odd.

IC:
"Sounds good to me. We should be there in 10 minutes, legally..."

He glanced at her and decided he might as well ask.

"So, 10 minutes legally, or 5 if I go 'a little' fast, your choice."

He started backing out of the driveway as he awaited her decision.

OOC: LOL, I know what you mean.
Saya grinned at him, "You know, in Mereshka we don't have any speed limits... But, I guess we should do it legaly.." She leaned back and pretended to sigh. "Real bummer huh"?

"Hmm... you're right, it wouldn't be good if we got arrested for speeding."

He pulled out and headed for the restaurant, at a legal speed.

"So, what'd you do before you joined the QCS?"

He looked over at her, then turned back to pay attention to the road. He was listening, for the first time in a long while he actually cared what someone was going to respond with.

OOC: So you're still in Calizorinstan correct guys?, just wondering, I mean I know, but I wondered if you knew...

Saya thought for a second, "Well, at first I did a few odd jobs here and there, and then I tried being a waitress. I decided I really, didn't like that job, sure, the tips were great, but unfortunately I had to work in a bar, and I didn't like going around a room full of drunk men." "She shifted in her seat to get more comfortorble, "After that, I worked as a nurse for a couple of years, and thats when I joined the QCS. How about you, what did you do"?
OOC: Yep, we are.

"Well, I've been military since I was 18, and in Shenyang you can't start working until you're 15. I spent my first summer in an office supply store, boring, boring job. Then I got a part time job in a corporate mail room, Dectoral, ammunition supplier, the guys who made 4's .57 cal super bullets. I kept that up until I joined the ISAF, and later the SAS."

He shrugged slightly, realizing that it was an odd story, but it was his life, what could he say.

"Been a long road to get where I am today, but I've heard how they treat waitresses in Mereshka, so I think you probably had the tougher jobs. Somewhere in there Dagger-4 married my older sister. So that's why he's always looking out for me. D'you have any family?"

OOC: Have to eat dinner, so I'll be back in a while.

OOC: Alrighty.
IC: Saya shook her head, "Not really, just my older brother. The zombies got the rest. The reason me and him are still alive is because he was at work, and I was playing in the forest by our house. I've always loved forests."

"Wow, that had to be tough. Atleast the two of you made it. Still..."

He looked at the nav system, not much further.

"... You like forests? I've always been partial to the mountains myself, but I do like the forests in Shenyang. What's your favorite part of the world? I like the whole area around Italy personally."

Saya smiled, "Actually, I've always liked Japan. Its easy to find a nice secluded sakura forest, its just so peaceful. I love sakura trees."

"Huh, I didn't know that, I've only ever been in the cities of Japan, protecting politicians. Boring job, and no time to enjoy the country. Sometimes I wish I was able to just travel for traveling's sake, then I have to realize that that takes money, so I've got to keep a job somewhere. Oh, we're here."

He pulled up to the restaurant and turned off the vehicle. He pocketed the keys and went around to get Saya's door for her. He was glad that he'd had a chance to change into something nicer than his fatigues, they weren't exactly the greatest thing to wear on a date.

Saya got out of the car, and said, "Its a shame you've never been able to see Japans nature, its beautiful."

OOC: Restaurants aren't my area of expertise, I leave the description to you.

Dagger-5 followed her into the restaurant, he realized he'd never told her his real name. He almost kicked himself for it. He caught up quickly.

"Say, I know your name, but you don't know mine. I just realized it. I'm Alex, Alex Marshall."

He blushed as he realized he'd actually forgotten to tell her that earlier, like when he'd first proposed.

OOC: Heh, not to good at them myself, but I'll do my best.
She smiled at him, "Its okay Alex, I forgive you". She looked around at the restraunt, it was a good traditional Japanese restraunt. There were those littles lantern balls every where, and she even saw a sakura tree in the corner. She pointed it out, "See, imagine entire forests of those things." She just loved those pink little blossoms.

OOC: Just posting here so i can find my way back to it.,

"You're right, that would be beautiful."

He tried to find someplace for them to sit down.

Saya grinned at him trying to find a table. Most of the people woudn't understand him, in the fancier places like this, most of them would speak Japanese. She walked over to one of the waiters and said something in fluent Japanese, and he led them to a table.

"Of course, the other problem with protecting VIPs, you eat where they eat, and they rarely go anywhere they don't know well."

He sat down and began to wonder when he should tell her that he spoke Japanese, not too well, but enough. Might as well. In his best Japanese he said, "So what would you like this fine evening?"

He smiled slightly, similar to Dag4's smile actually. He returned to speaking English.

"I do know a little Japanese, enough to get by."

She laughed, and also in Japanese, said, "Oh really? Did you learn that on your mission"? She pretended to be upset, "You know, you really should tell me stuff like this. First you forget to tell me your name, and now you forget to tell me your bilingual."

"I know, I'm falling apart at the seams here."

He knew instinctively that she was joking, and he managed to break into his own, normal smile.

"I learned it for that mission yes, but I've been working on getting better ever since, probably should work a bit harder at it, that way I can keep up with everyone."

She laughed, switching back to english she said, "Oh, its okay Alex. My family has a long Japanese heritage, so learned it early. Grandma even said that our line stretches back to great samurai."

"Ah, well that certainly would explain it. I feel better now. So what would you like to eat? I'm sure everyone back there is eating by now."

He was really enjoying this, he just hoped that she was too.

She nodded, "Yep, I'm starved. What sounds good to you"?

"I don't know, I've always wanted to try Fugu, supposedly it can be poisonous though, puffer-fish, so maybe I should avoid that tonight. I think I'll have this Yakizakana, what about you?"

She nodded, "That sounds pretty good to me to, and a bit of sushi on the side to."
OOC: I've got to go mate, probably won't be back till tomorrow.

OOC: No problem, I can't be on until atleast 11 PM GMT (check the bottom of the page, since I can't translate that right)

"Alright, sounds good to me."

He waited for the waiter to make his way around to them.

Finally the waiter reached them and he placed the order, in his best attempt at fluent Japanese. The waiter seemed to understand him. He bagan hoping he hadn't screwed up somewhere in that, ordering something that made no sense, like a pair of shoes... 'No, I'm sure, I got that right.'

Saya wasn't laughing at him so either he'd been right, or she was containing herself quite well. If he was infact wrong, then atleast they'd have a laugh about it.

OOC: Sorry I wasn't on yesterday.
IC: Saya nodded, he had gotten it just right, with only a few mispronunciations. In a strange way she was actually proud of him. She looked up and the waiter brought a bottle of sake and poured them both some. She took a little sip, "So, what are you going to do after you retire from the military"?

He thought for a moment, he still had a relatively long career ahead of him, and the experience he'd gain in the SAS would make him invaluable to any number of defense contractors throughout the Shenyang, not to mention the world. For that matter he could easilly travel for several years before getting a permanent job. Finally he came up with his answer.

"Well, I've been to a lot of nations over the years, but I've never had the chance to enjoy them, it was always on a mission, so I think I'd like to travel a while, See the world as opposed to just, 'seeing' it. After that, I imagine I'd need to get an honest job. Probably a consulting job for any of the defense contractors in Shenyang, combat has always been my specialty I guess. We Shenyangi are all pretty fiercely patriotic, so I think maybe I should go into that."

He drank the Sake, realized he ought o tell her about his past, before someone else did, or she found out on her own. He knew that it could destroy his chances to be with her, but he felt that it'd be better if she heard it from him.

"I know this is going to probably get me in trouble, but you ought to know. Until about a month ago, I was a rather unsuccessful professional bachelor. I used to have visions of 'having a girlfriend in every port' as the old saying goes. The thing was, over time I came to realize, that a having a wife is better than meeting that goal, if it can even be called that. I just figured you ought to hear that from me, instead of from someone else."

He looked down, ashamed of that particular part of his past. He knew that he'd changed, but he couldn't be sure that she would believe him. The anxiety started to creep back, but he forced it back down as best he could. 'I told her, now its up to her.' he thought silently, as he kept his eyes down.

Saya sat back and took another drink. She was deciding how best to handle that. She supposed she couldn't really condemn him for it, since there were probably alot of men out there who had those same 'dreams'. Most of them probably didn't even give it up like he did, so that was a plus right there. On the other hand, she couldn't really condone that kind of behaivior either, it wasn't really good for a family man. She decided to go with simply watching him carefully. She grinned at him, "Oh thats okay, it gives me a nice chance to tame you." Then her eyes started to turn red around the edges, "But, if I do accept your offer, realise that going back to those ways would be a very bad idea".

He snapped up, having fully expected her to have left right there. He was genuinely surprised.

"Don't worry, I swear I won't slip, I swear."

His hands went up in surrender. He noticed the red at the edges of her eyes, but didn't make note of it. He wasn't quite sure if it was mild aggravation, or something very different. He let it go. He wanted to get as far from that subject as possible.

"What about you, I mean, what do you want to do after you get out of the military?"

He was amazed he'd managed to catch what once more could have been a major slip on his part, what question had almost come out wrong, at least awkwardly phrased wasn't the same as a completely different question.

She shrugged, "I'm not sure, I was kind of hoping to raise a family, and go to school. Failing that I'd probably go to school anyway, and then get a job. Maybe as a teacher, or a doctor maybe. I'm really not sure, just as long as it helps people." She grimaced, "I don't really plan on being in the military much longer anyways, after the zombie thing is taken care of, it will just be humans. I don't think I could handle killing humans". She looked up at him, "Hey, what do you think about killing zombies? Dag4 seems to think its wrong."

"Well, I've never had too much of a problem with it, at first it wasn't something that I felt was right, but then I started seeing things, things that showed me that it wasn't the same as killing people. You see, Dag4, he had it worse than anyone else in Dagger Team. The first mission I wnet on where we encountered zombies, was in his home town. His own family had been taken, and he'd had to kill them to protect the rest of us. For him, staring through his scope at his family, and then having to kill them like they were animals, he never got over that. I feel bad about it from time to time, but I'm sure that they're not really people anymore. I've killed people in the past, and I've kill zombies, but they're really nothing alike. Zombies are, well, unnatural. So I guess its not too much of a problem for me."

He wondered if Dag4 was okay, he didn't hugely like social gatherings.

"Of course, it all comes from your point of view."

He wondered when the food would arrive, he also hoped that this depressing topic would pass. He knew his stand, and he understood that of others.

OOC: I've gotta go for tonight, back on tomorrow, probably about an hour or two earlier than today.

OOC: Do I RP the waiter?, if so, sorry about not posting, because I didn't know...

Saya nodded, "I personally like to think that its setting them free, you know"? Then the waiter appeared with their food. She clapped her hands, "Yay, it smell delicious."
OOC: No, I think its sorta up to us. I think.

"Yes, it does, I like your reason, I know I wouldn't want to be that way."

He once more stopped to consider, should he eat first, or let her, he realized how painfully bad at this he was. 'Maybe that's why I failed miserably...' he thought. Finally he decided to let her go first.

Saya was about ot dig in, then stopped. "Wait, do you want to pray, or something first"?

"Oh, no, I always felt that while there is a higer power, I should thank it for helping me survive each day, not for my food. Food starts to seem trivial after a while I guess."

He shrugged and also got ready to eat, then paused.

"After you Saya."

She grinned, "Why thank you Alex. I think I will." She grabbed a pair of chopsticks and popped a sushi roll in her mouth, chewed, and swallowed. "Yum, its great, try it"!

"Well I don't see why not."

He picked up the chopsticks, and picked up a suchi roll of his own. He had spent enough nights on call eating chinese food to know how to use them.

"You're right, these are good."

He felt the mood was becoming less morbid than it had been moments ago, and less aprehensive, as it had been moments before that.

Saya began eating from all the dishes, probably alot more than she should have. She began talking between bites, "So, do you play any instruments"?

"I play electric bass actually, me and a bunch of other SAS members play at the officers' club every so often. We're pretty good, or so we're told. We just don't have the time to take things really to the next level. As a kid I was taught to play piano, but I haven't played in years. Its hard to pack one into anything, maybe I could play keyboard though."

He began eating as well. Not as fast as Saya, but then he was more interested in learning about her, and her learning about him than food.

"And yourself, do you play?"

She swallowed a large egg and shook her head, "Not really. I'm fairly good at playing the ocorina, but thats it. I've been told I can sing pretty good though". She dove back into some noodles.

"Really? I'm terrible at singing, I'm good for background stuff, but if you put me on lead for anything I'll flop big time." He laughed. "I remember this one time, ah you probably wouldn't want to hear it..."

The story was so engarined in his mind that he could recite it like the Pope quoting scripture.

She laughed, "Go ahead, I love stories. I used to sit on my Grandpas lap and listen to his stories constantly."

OOC: If you guy's wouldn't mind, I mean I am not a participant, but where your resturant is, is right next to an airfield, and I've got a indirect suprise..."

A Calizorinstani Air Force B-70 Valkyrie pilot, saw a little Japanese resturant, and decided to give it a buzz,.Boy did he, rock the building, but, it was subsonic, and he decided to do a little flight pattern around the building to see if people would come out of it, and see him..

Saya saw the plane fly by, doing all sorts of tricks. She grinned, "How much you wanna bet this is Johns doing"?

"Well, I was... HOLY...! What's that guy thinking!"

He looked at Saya to see if she'd been as suprised by that as he was.

"Did you see that? Did a Valkyrie bomber just buzz this restaurant?"

He was extremely suprised that he hadn't heard it coming. It was definitely subsonic, or the windows would have shattered, so he should have heard it. He came to the conclusion that Saya literally had his undivided attention.

The B-70 pilot, seeing his target people smirked at the co-pilot and said to John Macked who was in the co-pilot seat and said "There's your target's chief, say it, and I'm on the ball..." John didn't answer and dialed Saya's cell phone number and waited patiently for her to pick up... and said "Hey Saya, tell Dag I'm in the right seat flying right now, and this is 1 out of 50 Valkyries operational in Calizorinstani Service, there's an airshow tomorrow Saya, and Dag, would you like to come?"

Saya told Dag what John had said, "So, what do you think? You want to go"? She wondered how John had gotten her number, she didn't even remember telling him she even had a cell phone.

"Why not, I've always been a fan of expensive equipment that does stuff really fast."

He smiled at the thought of spending more time with her.

She nodded, "Sounds kind of fun. Even though planes really aren't my schtick." She walked over to the sakura trees and began sniffing at the blossoms.

"Its usually more fun wtching them perform than riding them, unless you're a pilot of course."

He looked back at the aircraft as it disappeared into the distance.

"He's a piece of work."

She shrugged, "To tell ya the truth, it looks like an average plane to me. But, like I said, I really don't know much about them".

OOC: This thread dead?

OOC: I don't think so, I think it's become a bit dormant, and this will bring it to Shen and Merks attention...

OOC: I think that for the sake of keeping this thread under 20+ pages, we should just do excerpts from the dates, as opposed to the whole thing, as is shown by how long this is taking. Just a thought, its up to Mereshka of course.
