FNN Election News
This is Jonathan Isnaris with the election results from the Federation's first election for a leader without the last name of Douglas or Ambrose.
Mr. Charles J. Turian, long-shot self-made billionaire who was considered the dark horse candidate from the beginning of this election pulled a surprise upset over Congresswoman Amanda Parsons and Director Samuel Darcy to claim the Federation's Premiership, and, in a few weeks, the Federation's next President.
Charles J. Turian won with 55.56% of the vote, while Congresswoman Amanda Parsons came in second with 33.33%. Director Samuel Darcy was a distant third with 11.11%. Sources say that Congresswoman Parsons' socialist view hurt her in the debate, while Director Darcy's downright hostile attitude doomed him. Turian was cordial throughout, promoting his pro-business, moderate world view agenda.
When asked to comment about his upset victory, Turian declined other than to say that he was overjoyed.
People have wondered how things might change once Turian takes power. He has already stated that Yugsev Wadl, Director of Finance, will remain on board in the new cabinet. Ambassador Benjamin Douglas has already announced that he will not seek his position of Ambassador to Foreign Lands again, and his substitute, Under-Ambassador Richard Curkney, is seen as the front runner to take over the number three spot in the government.
With it known that President Ambrose plans on stepping down, Congresswoman Amanda Parsons will actually become Premier after all, once Turian takes the presidency. Ranking Nation's House representative Whitaker Osen will become Speaker once that happens.
This is Jonathan Isnaris, FNN News.
OOC: Just post nation's reactions if you'd like. This is just the formal announcement of Turian winning.
