I tried this before but I want to do it again. The Magic Academy in my country is accepting new students from around the globe.
Yes, losely inspired by Harry Potter, but much more. Here you get more choice. Chose to be a student, or teacher, or both if you so desire. (Limit 3 characters per person) And instead of simply typical witch-craft and wizidary you may have seen in HP, this will have more diversity.

Character Classes

Witch/Wizard: (AKA The Harry Potter Class)

Typical witch/wizard. Uses a small wooden wand that varries in size and length. Capable of doing a plethra of spells as they get older, and very capable of teleporting, (aparation) and flying of a broom.

Sorcerer/Sorceress

Magic capablitis differ. Rather than use a small wand, they often use a long staff. Most modern staffs are long and metal, with a gem or otherwise an object at the crest of the wand. Some crest over, some are just straight septer like. Gems varry in color. Older staffs are wooden (Like Gandolf the Grey's staff) Also capable of a plathera of spells. Flying can involve sprouting wings from your body (That dissapear once you retract them magically) or make wings form on your staff. Seldome have to incantate a spell. Some may have the ability to use tarot cards.

Elemental

Elementals are fewer in spell numbers. Most are capable of one specific element. But don't be fooled, although they are limited, they are strong. Some are capable of learning multiple Elements, but very rarely.

Water
Ice
Snow (More gental than Ice)
Earth
Air
Spirit (Supernatural capabilities)
Thunder (Electric Capablelities)
Wind
Steel/Metal (Nearly invincible to physical blows. Can form metal and manipulate)



Subjects

MANDATORY

If you desire to be a teacher you can teach in one of these subjects. Student's should fill out a full schedual of 8 periods.

Skills and Fundementals-Teaches the basics, defense, shooting, incantating, duling and so on.

Flying-Learn the art of flying.

History-History of the world, and of magic.

Creature Care-Teaches how to properly deal with all creatures. (Teacher Selected)

Potions-Mixing and brewing diffrent chemicals for medical or other purposes.(Teacher Selected)

Health- (For First Year Students) Basic health for you


EXTRA CURRICULAR

Music Ensemble-A group orchestra of winds, strings, and chrous.

Sports Flying-Racing or sport

Seamstry-Learn to make and desinge clothes.

Med Health-For thoes intrested in persuing a carrer in the medical field

Meterology-Basic knowldege of weather and climate patterns. Also prepares for MET II, that will teach you Weather Controll.

Meteorology AP-Begin the art of weather controll. (a superb score in MET I required)

Alchemy-The Art of manipulating and forming metals (NOTE: MANDATORY FOR STEEL ELEMENTS)

Advanced Magi Combat- Prepares for profesional dueling and/or military service

Archery-The classic bow and arrow

Kendo-Wooden sword play.

Foreign Language=Learn another language of your choice
And finally Student Profiles

Study Hall-Time to do your homework (or maybe just goof off)

Art Get your drawing/sculpting or other skill on.

Comment: Seeing as there aren't going to be four hundred PC characters, I would recommend that most of us take the classes that we are in together during the same period (this mostly applies Mereshka 'cause the rest of us put them in the same slots).

Added more to the character profile.

Chris at a young age was in an accident, the right side of his body was destroyed (beside his head). Doctors saved him by replacing his right side (again not his head) with an odd metel. Now everything on the right side of his body, neck to his toes is metel.

Added the schedules. I swapped 'em around a bit, so they wouldn't always be together, and so that they could plausibly be with students in their own year.

No, I mean about people of different ages being in the same class. In Harry Potter, at least, everyone is the same age. However, with our lack of characters, if you had a character who was a different age from everyone else you would be in classes with only NPCs...

It's an interesting dilemna. Because if you aren't a first year, yet you are in a class with a first year it either means you didn't take it earlier (which isn't possible for mandatory classes) or your an idiot and failed to pass it.

If I'm not being clear, what I mean is, either first years will be learning information from higher class levels or older students will be relearning first year stuff. (That still may not be clear)

well for the sake of interaction I don't split the age groups up. It's pretty mixed together.

Other Intresting Info: Being from the principality of trefenwyd originally he studied a Celtic tradition of druidry and a Nordic tradition of shamanism to guide his studies. In adition to the typical tarot method of divination he likes to use rune stones(elder Futhark for those interested). He has a bit of a preoccupation with the idea of free choice and natural balance. While he is easy with people he tends to play important personal information close to the vest. He appears somewhat rugged most of the time and is a bit on the heavy side of life. His voice is a deep bass most of the time and his body language exceptionally expressive. He tends to emote with his hands as he talks and is always seen with his trench coat. He also has a nasty smoking habit whenever teachers aren't looking and he can get away with it. He prefers to practice outdoors on the grounds whenever possible. Although he has been a student here for a few years he got a late start as he is a transfer for an academy in Trefenwyd that was shut down for suspicion of practicing forbidden arts such as necromancy and blood magic.

@MS: Sorry, another question. Just curious, perhaps it won't matter at all, but what type of society is this going to be in. What I mean is, is it going to be Harry Potter-esque where most people don't know of magic and those who do practice in secrecy? Or is it going to be kind of Fantasy Tech where it is pretty accepted and this is just a school for it. Or are we just going to ignore that and hope it doesn't come up?

I think it'll be up to the individual teachers when the bell (or equivelent) rings when they are RPing their classes.

Comment: Seeing as there aren't going to be four hundred PC characters, I would recommend that most of us take the classes that we are in together during the same period (this mostly applies Mereshka 'cause the rest of us put them in the same slots).

I don't ask for every post to be that long. However, I dislike 1 liners (note that this doesn't mean if it goes onto the second line by three words, it's not included). Short posts are, to me, non-descriptive and boring. I simply don't enjoy reading: Billy saw the kid and thought it'd be cool to make friends, "Hi, I'm Billy. What's your name?"

Right. Newcomers do need practice, but it is often aggravating for more seasoned RPers, when you constantly have to reply to very, very short posts...

Also, no one said you had to rp with certain rp'ers. If there are one or two that you like then interact with their characters only or you can offer helpful advice to those you think that need it.

Here is some advice from me: After you are done writing your post and before you post it, check over it for spelling/grammar mistakes. Then when you are done click on "post preview." Do the same thing as before and check for spelling/grammar mistakes. When you are done with that you can then post it. Sure, it doesn't work all the time, but it works for me. Also, if you have a writing program on your computer, type the post there first. Then use the spellcheck when you are done. Then you have to copy and paste it on the post thing. Finally make final changes to the post before posting.

As has already been stated, certain types of RPers bring about certain types of RPs, plus it is quite frustrating even to see a one liner post in-between two well written paragraph(s) one.

Your advice is correct and if everyone does it that will help some of the problems (though not most). However, when you have seen this hundreds of times like me, it gets a little old and you just don't feel like dealing with it anymore.

Basic Info:

Elario was a normal child for a few years until he and his parents recognized several strange traits about him. For one, every time he was hurt, no matter how severe the injury, he managed to heal in remarkably short periods of time. Also, there was the fact that when he was angry, objects seemed to fall, crash, or fly at walls at extremely high speeds, all accompanied with a strange, bright, flash of white light.

After several years passed, Elario came to find out that he possessed an innate arcane ability known as Light Magic: a Holy power that allowed the manipulation of both the wave and particle form of Light around him, as well as the ability to impose some of his own will upon reality (an example being his gift of Healing). Though he has had no formal training in his power, Elario has learned some interesting things with his gift, including his personal favorite power: the Light-Board (see Negate). Elario has used the Light-Board as both transportation and as a form of amusement, and is the one part of his powers that he has the most control over.

This ability to slow and harden light itself has also led to accidents and tragedies, the worst being the near-death of his mother when he, in anger, solidified a piece of Light and hurled it at her. The power of both the force itself and the speed of the projectile nearly killed her, much to Elario's surprise, as he assumed that the Light would just dissipate. Rage was always a problem for the teen, a curse from his father who had also always been afflicted with some hatred or another. Despite that, however, Elario Arcano had grown up to be actually quite peaceful. In his old school he was always thought of as extremely friendly and outgoing, and ever since the accident, he had focused on trying to control his temper to the best of his abilities.

Promising to never use his arcane abilities to harm someone in such a way again, Elario had found the Magic Academy, and immediately enrolled. He wanted to find out why he had been given this power, what it meant, and how he could use it properly. Hopefully, someone could explain what had eluded him his whole life.

Abilities (yes, I added this, but I'd like to describe some things my character can do):

Lift- Wraps objects with energized photons (light particles) and then allows for manipulation. Elario can lift heavy objects, or even people, and move them with ease. This can be done one object at a time, or, alternatively, the photons can be interwoven through the loose objects within a limited radius, suspending them until Elario's power wanes or he himself ends the power. Lift is simple in its concept to Elario, and is therefore one of his more potent abilities. In combat, it can be used both offensively and defensively: he can actually Lift his opponent in the air and do with them as he will, or he can focus the ability on, so say, a wizard's wand, taking it from their hands and rendering them powerless. This power is possibly one his most useful as well, even for trivial circumstances, such as wanting a drink but not wanting to get up. He can simply Lift the glass towards him, not even raise a hand, tilt it so he can take a sip, and then place it back where it came from, with no movement aside from slight guidance from his hands, where the power is focused in.

Negate- Causes a standing waveform of light in the form of a small wall (that reaches as high as he is and as wide as he is) extending from Elario's hand. The light then becomes solid, allowing Elario to pass through it (or other people at certain parts where Elario can decrease the intensity of the light), but stops all non-wanted people and materials from coming through. The teen can then move, with his hand held out, with the wall of light, or he can choose to "place" it at a given spot, where it will stay until Elario disperses it. Alternatively, the waveform can be bent back upon itself, forming a sphere that completely surrounds Elario to a given radius from his center, depending upon how much stamina he has left. In combat, it can be used as a type of shield in both the wall and bubble form, but Elario uses it mainly for his own device: the Light-Board. The Light-Board is a "placed" form of Negate which Elario can then step on and move through the use of the Lift power. He has much experience in this, therefore making Lift and Negate the two powers he knows the most about. The waveform isn't harmful, but it cannot be passed through unless the power wanes or Elario chooses to let someone or something through.

Pulse: Elario manipulates the frequency of light in a given area around him, gathers it towards himself (usually using his hands as a focusing point), and then unleashes the photons in a concentrated pulse of light. The intensity of this pulse is harmful, and can be used as a weapon. Elario can either use this power as a projectile weapon or solidify the Light in a given area around his hand, forming a solid blade of light that can, depending upon the frequency and intensity of the energy, either be used to cut bread or cut through stone and metal. A lower form of this power is what Elario used to harm his mother when he didn't know he could control Light in such a way, but recently, he has learned some mastery over it, allowing him to form both strong and weak pulses. Unbeknownst to him now, Elario can continue the buildup until it reaches a critical point, at which then he can either direct a wide beam of highly-energized photons at an area (once again, using his hands as a focusing point) or he can so choose to let his body be the focusing point, and let the energy "explode", uncontrolled, outward from his center point. Both of these "critical point" uses of Pulse are extremely harmful to any caught within the area that they happen.

Heal: For some unknown reason, Elario Arcano can course a healing energy through himself, or, through direct contact, heal another person. This power is extremely draining to the teen, but it is probably his most useful. He has saved many people this way, including his mother, whom without Elario's power, would have died before paramedics could get to her when he attacked her. Heal works by the flow of , as Elario has described it, a "Holy" power, which can then repair tissue, mend bones, close wounds, and so on. The power cannot prevent death, but it can ease pain to a great degree. Both Heal and Boost are a type of energy that Elario doesn't fully understand, more so than with his other powers.

Boost: Through the release of the same energy that allows him to heal, albeit in a lesser level, Elario can "boost" both himself and those surrounding him in terms of stamina, strength, magic ability and prowess, and mentally (it allows for the signals from the brain to travel quicker, thus increasing thought speed. This doesn't make someone smarter: it only allows them to reach a solution quicker). In light humor, he has used this power to help his classmates do better on tests, become unstoppable in some sports, and so on, but Boost, when used at a higher drain rate to the caster, can actually propel someone to a near God-like status: they will be faster, stronger, an extremely quick thinker, and so on. In battle, this power, though small, is not to be underestimated. Its use can turn the most ordinary opponent into a fierce warrior and a brilliant tactician.
