The Experimental Assault Rifle number 25 (or XAR-25) is a new model of rifle still in testing. It's advanced design features standard NATO 5.56x45mm ammunition and an integrated, electronically-controlled 30mm grenade launcher. You can set the grenades to explode on impact, set a timer so they can burst through a window, for example, and set them to explode above the target. The rifle can be programmed with the user's fingerprint and set to operate only when the user activates it by scanning his fingerprint onto the fingerprint scanner above the trigger. The rifle also features an auto-zoom digital scope with target recognition. Finally the rifle can analyze wind, elevation and range and convert into data for the role of spotter in a sniper squad. This new scope is being tested for use with sniper rifles and if approved, it could effectively remove the need for a spotter in a sniper team.
