A short jingle, and a revolving symbol of the We Buy It Inc. Company is all the introduction that is used for the program. It fades into a news room, with many pieces of equipment and people roaming around the back. In the foreground, an attractive young man of perhaps 25, a dark complexion compared to the rest of Azahan, however he had brilliant green eyes. Shuffling a few pieces of paper, he looks into the camera, and gives a solemn smile, almost forced.
“Good evening, this is Ahmad Kareem, and this is the Azahan News Network at six.” He looks over to his right, and the camera angles switch. “We have a busy news night tonight. In response to the Questarian Empire’s mobilization, the NATO mobilization, and the subsequent declarations and mobilizations of many other countries, the Azahan Chancellor has declared the Azahan intention in mobilizing our own forces for the upcoming ‘Inferno’, as the chancellor put it.
Another angle change, and a small sub square appearing on the upper right corner of the broadcast. “First up tonight, and perhaps the first big story, the Irijad Bay.” The subset shows the image of northern Azaha, with the western edge of Bretton, the entirety of the KC colonies, and the most eastern edge of the Southern States. A dotted red line protrudes from the edge of the KC colonies, and connects to the edge of TSS land, seemingly closing off the massive bay below it.
“This is in response to the NATO inter-haven threat, the Azahan-Questarian higher up believing that NATO sponsored smugglers and gun runners are supplying Azahan revolutionaries with arms and means. Several large camps on the coast have already been neutralized, and several pieces of incriminating documentation recovered. To quote the Chancellor himself, ‘Anyone who doesn’t like it, can talk to the rifled barrel of our indigenous battleships.’
“Now onto the next story. In a surprising move by military commanders, 20,350,000 troops, both combat and logistical are to be shipped immediately to the Questarian Commonwealth of Northford. The looming threat of the large NATO forces has had many Azahan commanders scratching their heads on how to overcome the seemingly insurmountable odds of defending the smaller commonwealths of the Questarian Empire. Their answer was quite simple. In response, the Azahan Army corp has dispatched an insurmountable force themselves to the Commonwealth, in hopes of discouraging any attacks on the much smaller nation.
“As a part of the mobilization of our armed forces, the formation of an Azahan national army reserve has been authorized. Recruitment for the reserves is expected to begin immediately, drawing mostly on the nomadic tribes and villages that dot the Azahan zero-scape. Although the active army totals are not expected to get above 90 million men, its current total, it is expected that the army reserve is expected to hit three times that size, hopefully before any actual hostilities are authorized. This is mostly speculation however.
