If you mean the classic Lee Enfield, as used in WWI...no chance. If there's an earlier form of the Enfield rifle, fair enough, please point me to a relevant source.

He probably means the Enfield musket, which was called a rifle due to a rifled barrel, if I am not mistaken.

OOC: Was about to edit that out, a bit of research (this is after my usual period) turned up the 1853 pattern Enfield muzzle-loader. I was just worried cos I thought it was a claim of a 15-round-a-minute, 1000-yard range rifle...
No worries.
