Generia's Defenses [Invite-Only, Closed]
Generic Empire, Sofia, Allied Command Headquarters
As soon as the Freudians and Generians have consented to the agreement, hundreds, even thousands of Allanean aircraft have taken off from military camps all over the country – immense Ouroboros flying boats, Archimedes' Lever cargo aircraft, and the tiny Antonov-225 troop and vehicle carriers, deploying their cargo – thousands and thousands of Allaneans all at once to the different military bases.
Near Sofia, an underground command base for the Allied troops was established. It was covered by ten concrete 'saucers' in order to protect it from anything short of a nuclear strike by a multi-megaton weapon.
Down there, dozens of meters underground, sat a boy. His pale skin seemed snow-white, set off by his black parade uniform. He was smiling sadly as he typed rapidly on his keyboard. The boy was writing a letter. He had written dozens of such letters before, but never sent them. This one would be different, he told himself.
Dearest,
I have long wanted to write to you. The truth of the matter is, my feeling about you is not that of a childish crush, nor a demented obsession, nor a merely sexual desire. Had it been the latter, it would not be a problem for me to satisfy my urges with those who wish to make love to me – the various fans, the groupies, the leaders of the kind of Empress Nadiah... that, however, is not my desire. My desires towards you are... perhaps, more complicated. You understand, your body, beautiful is it, is only that desirable to me because it comes with a most marvellous soul. I wish – and I realise, how futile that is – to be loved by you...
Around Generia, 100 Allanean USABM rockets were set up. Should Doomingland decide to launch a pre-emptive thermonuclear strike, on Generia or anybody else, those rockets would launch immediately, vaporising the enemy rockets at their most vulnerable stage.
At the seven various military camps, hundreds of tanks rolled onto the runways and to their storage points – Nakils, Ashurbanipals, Samsons. According to the Allanean plan, ten tank divisions were to be deployed as part of the deal – about 3,000 tanks of various kinds.
The tank transporters – giant, black Spearhead vehicles, carrying immense tanks – moved in convoys through the highways, the flags of the divisions and battalions waving proudly off their cabs, drivers smiling politely to the populace.
I would like to date you, like a sixteen-year-old in Liberty-City dates his girlfriend. I want to blush when you talk to me, and kiss your fingertips, and bring you flowers. I want to stand with you on the front deck of the battleship I named after you, and hold your wrists like in a lame twentieth-century movie. I want to take you to the top floor of Minas-Faerie, and show you Liberty-City, how it glitters at midnight, with the light of thousands of shops and commercial lights and fireworks from people's birthday party – millions op people simply enjoying their own lives.
Five divisions of airborne troops rushed off Ouroboros aircraft. They rode their open-topped trucks trough local villages, saluting the locals, the bayonets on their rifles glinting dully in the sun. Simultaneously with this, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and Wing Scouts deployed by the thousand. They wore no powered armor, but there were many of them, and they carried similar rifles – though their bayonets were not black, but rather well-polished. They even sang as they marched through the cities by the battalion. Of those, there were ten divisions, and 2,500 prop-driven aircraft accompanied them.
I want to sit with you in a coffee-shop on the 100th floor of a Deriksburg skyscraper, one of the few still left there. I want to see you smile as I make you Stossel tea with that red stuff that you like so much – you see, I've even asked Jenny about that! - that is why I want to know everything about you. I want to know what tea you like, so I could make it for you, and I want to know what people you like – so maybe I could try and be like that. I know you will likely never love me, and yet I would like to improve, if only to make you smile.
Furthermore, 35 mechanized infantry divisions were either deploying to the seven bases in Generia, en route there, or preparing to leave. The first thing they would do upon arrival is set up lots – and ltos – of mock-up inflatable armored vehicles, tanks, and so forth, to protect against a Doomani attack. AA vehicles and their imitations were lined up by the dozen, to shoot down incoming Doomani planes.
And speaking of planes, those were also coming. 10,000 SU-25 attack aircraft, 5,000 F/A-84 'Shadow' Stealth Air Superiority Fighters, 1200 various bombers arrived on site. They also brought in a stockpile of Rhapsody Cruise Torpedoes. In an emergency, these would be used to deny the enemy the area of sea between Generia and Doomingsland.
Dearest, I wish I could explain this in some way – I wish I was a poet, maybe then I could express it clearly, in a single stanza or sentence. I love you, I just really do. I wish you were here. I remember how you left the country, how you took an effort to explain to the people that they have not failed you, how it was not their fault you were leaving. It was so noble, so brilliant – you really understood them, you understood what this country is all about, what I worked to help create – it was all so you. I know your speech by heart...
Finally, somewhere in the depth of Generia, five Mark I NPG's are being assembled. They, too, are defensive only.
The boy, in the meanwhile, is done with the letter. He sends it to print. It is rather long, written in an italicised serif font, at about size 12. He reaches out, as if to sign it...
The Zippo flicks open. For a few seconds, Kazansky ponders whether to indeed mail the letter or burn it.
Paper burns fast.
Next time, maybe.
Generic empire
22-06-2007, 22:18
General Lew Nys’ky, most famous of the Empire’s warriors, the hard-nosed, hawk-eyed, sharp-minded soldier from the frozen wasteland east of Alberia and north of Sofia, stepped out of the VTOL. Brushing his gray hair back under his cap, he quickly lit a cigarette and proceeded across the runway towards a tall figure silhouetted against the setting sun.
“It’s been awhile, General.”
Nys’ky chuckled as he recognized the voice. Extending a hand, he shook that of Marshall Iljievo, supreme commander of the Empire’s grand armies.
“Welcome home.”
“It’s been too long,” grunted that great hero of the pan-havenic war who had gone on to conquer the uninhabited wastes of New Borneria for the glory of the Empire and his own, near mythical person.
It had indeed been close to thirteen years since Nys’ky set foot on the soil of the Generian homeland. Returning now to Sofia, the Empire’s capital, would surely have brought parades in his honor in any other circumstances. Considering the nature and necessity for his being called back from the colony at New Borneria, however, his arrival was a clandestine affair. The Imperial Intelligence Agency in line with Military Intelligence had made all due preparations to ensure his presence remained a secret until he could be deployed to Western Freudia and the Allied command post there.
“I trust you’ve kept yourself up to date on the geopolitical climate in your time away from civilization, General?”
Nys’ky laughed dryly, taking a long drag on his cigarette.
“Doomingsland, eh? Never thought I’d see the day…”
“You met Maximus once, I hear?”
“Yeah, at a state function. The Emperor’s birthday. Emperor Antonius, that is. Those were different times.”
The 15 years deceased Emperor Antonius of which Nys’ky spoke had a sister was in fact Maximus’s mother. The Doomani and Generian royal houses had deep running blood ties, which made Kazatmiru’s secession from the CAD a truly sensational act.
“Different times is right,” replied the Marshal. “One by one the old CAD states are following our example, dropping to the wayside, joining up with Gholgoth and AMF.”
“Tragedy, isn’t it? Back in the old days we could have ruled the world.”
“Maximus sealed the CAD’s fate. He’s not his father. Helldawg would never have allowed his allies to be marginalized like that.”
Nys’ky nodded silently, brooding on the matter. His cigarette dropped to the pavement and was crushed under the burly General’s dusty black boot. In the distance, the skyscrapers of the downtown district were illuminated against the gathering dusk. The sounds of marching feet were audible even here.
“The sounds of war, General. The timeless sounds of war.”
Nys’ky kept his peace as the two began walking off down the runway, towards the distant gate where a limousine waited to carry them to the offices of the General Staff.
“The Allaneans have arrived?” asked Nys’ky at last.
“Yes, the first major deployments came three days ago via Port Belgrade. They were flown here to Sofia.”
“There was talk of fighting them back in Haven.”
“That was a long time ago. They’re our ‘protectors’ now.”
The two men laughed.
“In any event, they’re good soldiers,” said Iljievo.
“I’ll believe it when I see it,” replied Nys’ky.
Iljievo chuckled. The two generals climbed into the limousine and were off, arriving minutes later through the deserted streets at the nondescript gray building that housed the Empire’s Office of the General Staff. Nys’ky would be briefed here, and in two days time flown off to Western Freudia.
The Empire’s divisions, meanwhile, were already on the move. While Generia maintained impressive garrisons in the Freudian protectorate, which she had rescued from chaos in the aftermath of Emperor Hudson’s attempted assassination, many millions more of Imperial regular infantry and elite Imperial Praetorians along with armored divisions, aerial wings, and tons upon tons of supplies and war materials were being sent to augment the defenses of what would likely become the first defensive front in a potential war with Doomingsland.
The Imperial fleet was on active patrol in the seas south of the Freudian coast, and Imperial divisions had already joined their allied counterparts in the bases being established along the coast. When Nys’ky arrived to take command at the central headquarters, the stage would be set.
Hotdogs2

Serginsky Shipyards
A large Síanach-class Destroyer Leader (DDGN) had just over two weeks ago steamed into port after its short tour of Hotdogs2, testing and proving the vessel in the oceans and seas around the nation. As was custom within Hotdogs2, a vessel carried out sea trials before an official launching, primarily due to the fact that once upon a time a ship had supposedly sank after its launch, causing much embarrassment to the king, when the monarchy still existed. Rumors still abound that the vessel was in fact sabotaged by republicans, and ever since the name of that ship has echoed evil in the ears of mariners throughout Hotdogs2.
And so it was, that on this stormy day HNS Sea Dweller was docked in its place of Creation, the Serginsky Shipyards, largest of all Naval Dockyards within Hotdogs2, its new crew glad to be on the soon to be latest Hotdian naval vessel, and what a vessel! The Síanach was a destroyer but in name, or so felt the crew of Sea Dweller (name just freshly painted on its side), its size was larger than that of other Destroyers in service with the Hotdian navy, and it was a very capable vessel, often leading small escort forces for submarine tenders for example, something which made a captain proud to be in charge of. Today then its whole crew was laid out along its deck, proudly placed on parade, whilst a rather skeleton crew was prepared to sail immediately after the official launching.
Families watched from the quay side, not only was this the official ship launching but the destroyer also the first time it would be sent on an official naval mobilisation, part of operation Barter, a force being sent to Generic Empire in preparation for a possible blockade of norther Doomingsland should an invasion take place, despite the fact that it was a "defensive fleet" according to all official sources. Finally, a rather good looking woman stepped up to the hull of the ship on a set of steps. Samantha Mainner was young, just 19 years old and yet a succesful business woman known throughout the world for her model like beauty and eloquent speech and manners. As she stood against the ship side she looked around her, and so started the traditional speech given on the launching of a Hotdian Naval vessel.
"On this day, Saturday the 23rd, we see here the craftsmanship of our many skilled naval workers, mariners and sailors alike, in this one magnificent vessel. Designed by hands more experienced in such naval matters than most of us, it is truly worthy of its place in the history books of the Hotdian Navy, one of the largest Class of Destroyers we have yet seen in service and constructed by our own industry and through the hard work of the many people of these ship yards, may i say how proud i feel to be sponsoring the launch of such a vessel. From all those who have a right to judge this vessel none is more suited than the Honorable Captain Smart, who i have on his word that this ship is the greatest destroyer in service in our Navy, and will serve its crew well as it has already proven itself in all recent tests. In the tradition of our naval service then and in honour of its masterful building, i shall say no more, but i name thee the HNS Sea Dweller, and may God be with you as you go forth unto the seas once more."
As she said those words, she swung a bottle of champagne against the side of the destroyer, smashing and spreading its liquid over the hull, and continued saying;
"May we all now then sing Psalm 107 as the Sea Dweller steams about her war!"
And as the voices of around 700 people was raised in the gloom of this dark and dreary Saturday morning, the 23rd, lighting and thunder was heard in the distance, so only some of the phrases could be heard from a few hundred meters away as rain pounded upon the official ship naming and launching.
"They that go down to the sea in ships;
That do business in great waters;
These see the works of the Lord, and His wonders in the deep."
Now as HNS Sea Dweller began its long journey towards Generic Empire it would soon join the 2nd Grand fleet progressing towards their destination, a total nearing 1600 ships of various classes.
OOC: This is just a kind of setting up fleet, before any real invasion i will be mobilising my navy in full, along with actual amphibious assault ships.

And of course many supply and replenishment ships, although these would of course have to come and go as time went by. As an update, i asked Questers and a couple of other people, and it seems Doomingsland has a navy which would take 30-40 major combatants (that means Pocket Dreadnaughts and upwards) to destroy, nearing something like 10,000 ships according to Questers. I can fulfill a major part of this but not all of it, and so would need some allied help, and full use of land based anti-ship assaults, bearing in mind Doomingsland could also do that...use of Submarines could be a great asset.
Admiral Anton Dever-Smith looked from his office at the ships leaving Forbidden Bay Tarlags largest naval base. "George I never thought I would see the day when we would be fighting a two front war. Here we are fighting in the Med. and now the Duke sends a fleet to defend the Generics."
His aid Commander George Adler lit his pipe and walked over to the window.
"Why do I have the feeling we are going to be out gunned by those Doom bastards."
"Our Navy is good George, they are taking all eight of the new Majestic Class BCNs. with them. They will have plenty of our newer ships and gear so we should do all right."
"I still think we are in over our heads Sir, we are a small fish in a big pond and we will get swallowed."
The Admiral looked over to his aid and put his hand on his shoulder. "We will do our duty old friend."

Freudotopia
24-06-2007, 03:05
Seahook Cove, Irenia, Southern Freudotopia. Just before dawn.
“Damn it all, Simpson, that’s the fifth time! How the hell do you expect to survive a fucking war when you can’t even carry a crate fifty yards without spilling ammunition all over the place?”
“Sarge, I--”
“DON’T ANSWER THAT, SIMPSON! Who the fuck answers a question like that? Do you even understand the meaning of the word rhetorical?”
“Sarge, the--”
“I didn’t think so. I’ve got a few others for you: how about ‘trouble walking,’ or ‘complete incompetence,’ or ‘PICK THE FUCKING AMMO UP AND GET THE FUCKING CRATE INTO THE FUCKING DUGOUT! NOW!”
Veins stood out on Master Sergeant Aton Luis Medeo’s neck as he excoriated the hapless private. Medeo was well known within his unit for being the kindest and least strict of all the noncoms. Today was one of those days that exceptions were occurring all over the place.
Seahook Cove was one of thousands of defensive positions being fortified along the southern coast of Freudotopia. Master Sergeant Medeo had been tasked with setting up several machine gun nests all along the small inlet. Needless to say, he was on edge. His men were almost finished, but the squad sniper, Nigel Simpson, had proven extremely worthless at carrying the unwieldy boxes of .64 caliber ammunition across the loose sands. The man was practically a goddamned ballerina, and if it weren’t for his freakish accuracy with a rifle, Medeo would have transferred him long ago. No matter how bad a soldier was at manual labor, his most important quality was always his fighting ability.
As if he didn’t have enough on his plate, Medeo also had to deal with a conspicuous lack of any Army Engineering Corps personnel. After showing up with a set of plans and a quick crash course on building a small bunker, the three AEC officers assigned to the area had to move, along with their men, about five miles west to participate in the construction of one of the much larger bunkers built to house heavy artillery.
And of course, to complete the trifecta, almost all the work was being done at night to conceal the defense network as much as possible from aerial and satellite surveillance. With daylight approaching, Medeo was hard-pressed to keep his men on schedule.
Wiping the sweat from his brow, Private Simpson trudged back up the beach to the truck full of supplies. Alongside him walked his best friend and spotter Richard Goode, panting lightly.
“So, Nigel, the sergeant appears to be giving you a bit of a hard time.”
“You could say that. Honestly, Rich, I’d be bothered if I wasn’t so aware of the scope of this mobilization.”
“And how would you know anything like that?”
“You know, I know a guy who knows a guy. Point being, this could be the biggest engagement the FIM has ever fought in. Word is that if things boil over with Doomingsland, and everyone expects that they will, the Doomani will be trying to use southern Freudotopia as an invasion corridor into Generia.”
“Shit. So that means that everyone is going to be on active alert.”
“Exactly. With none of our forces committed abroad at the moment, Imperial High Command has issued call-ups for every reserve, refitted every ship and hauled out every plane. A good third of the Army is already entrenched in positions stretching from right on the coast to fifty miles inland.”
“What about the navy? The air force?”
“Well, I know that initial naval commitments are up in the air. Naval Command wants a sizable support block. As for the air force, I have no idea, but I’m assuming that every plane is being prepped for a huge-ass furball as we speak.”
“God, this is going to be huge, isn’t it? I’m not complaining, mind you, but I’ve got another kid on the way. I need this war about as much as a kick in the--”
“PRIVATES! Have you decided to join the Army or a god-damned nursing home?! Get your asses back to work. Sunup is in thirty minutes and I want this whole damn truck’s worth of weapons stashed and ready to go. SO JUMP TO IT, SOLDIERS, BEFORE I MAKE YOU JUMP WITH MY PATENTED FOOT-UP-YOUR-ASS TECHNIQUE!!!”
The interruption of the ever-watchful Master Sergeant jolted the two out of conversation and back to the task at hand, as the tendrils of sunlight crept over the horizon. Many more nights of hard labor were still to come to complete the defenses, but if and when the Doomani came, it would cost them dearly.
Official Imperial Military Communique
NOTICE: EYES ONLY
General Sinister, initial reports from all branches suggest that troop training, equipping, and deployment is proceeding on schedule. Air and Sea units not currently on active duty are in stage IV of repair-and-refit and 90% will be combat-ready within the week. Semi-permanent coastal defenses are approximately 82% complete. Additional resources have been allocated to the project to bring it up to schedule. Analysis of likely defensive scenarios is ongoing. Counterattack points and fluid retrogrades have been identified and are now being fortified. Freudian Military Intelligence is attempting to penetrate Doomani military with limited success. Inventory of military supply, civilian contracting resources, and logistical support structures indicates that our domestic warfighting capacity is optimal. In short, Sir, we have offense, defense, development, mobility, and resource.

Kahanistan
24-06-2007, 18:52
The Kahanistan Republic Guard had obtained 10,000 Nakil 1A1GU's for the purposes of training and use in international campaigns. The Nationalist Party was still sore about Kahanistan's own tank not being used, of course, but the moderates in the government prevailed.
The Nakils would be loaded onto ships and planes, and half of Kahanistan's 60 Macabean Naram-Sin bombers were also transported to Generia. These bombers carried an obscene amount of ordnance and could be refueled in flight - it wouldn't do for them to be forced to land and possibly stay on the ground when the runways were bombed.
Fifty thousand Kahanistanian reservist soldiers, the first part of the overall commitment of one million, accompanied the transport. They also brought an example of their mighty Emmanuel Goldstein class heavy battleship, of eight hundred thousand tons.
Moorington

The eccentric Moors are finally deciding to end their self-imposed Libertarian foriegn policy, and well, jumping on the closest bandwagon seems like the best way to start off into some successful caimpaigns.
The rather small Moorish force pledge their support, and will give a detailed list of the forces once the various Dukes give their support.
Upon orders from the Regents, the following are to be deployed to Generia:

1 Light Carrier...45 Mamba aircraft and 25 HCGSs.
2 Missile Destroyers...3 multi-vector VLS units, 3 banks Dominion missiles.
2 Missile Frigates...5 multi-vector VLS units, Tomahawk and Trident missiles X 4.
2 Missile Cruisers...5 multi-vector VLS units, Patriot, Liberty, and Kossak missiles.
1 Heavy Nuclear BattleShip
2 BattleSHips

Upon Generian request, we will send up to 6 Royal AirWings, each AirWing comprised of 96 fighter jets and 4 HCGSs.
Palace of the Revolution, Tailville DR
General Secretary Charles Lind looked out the window at the city below him. A city he'd seen built around the old, near-tribal village he'd liberated from a mad scientist's control back in 1974. And yet, I missed out on twenty of the years since then thanks to some temporal anomaly deciding 1976 was a good year to strike. Now we're about to move into a war which could see all this ruined; by my command. And yet, what choice do we have... He'd committed Wagdog to it's anti-slavery, anti-Doomani course seemingly ages ago now, even if only recently in fact. Now, however, he was putting muscle behind those words spoken in Supreme Warlord Dreadfire's support back then.
General mobilization, ordered (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=12788373) after The Fighting Stars launched their largely-failed nuclear attack on Wagdog's closest ally of Vetaka, was officially in place now. Already it was starting to take noticeable effect, the auto industry having shifted to armor production using its pre-existing capacity; and the aerospace industry moving to do the same for fighters, bombers and all other types Wagdog could produce on its own, a substantial variety of course. None indigenous, but then again there was such a thing as 'comparative advantage' to consider of course.
And that presented a quandary. Although thanks to some new arrangements made with allies in the GUSN Wagdog could upgrade it’s own tanks to a standard more equal to what the Doomani might send against them, modifying the examples in service was still taking some time. They would be shipped to Generia in time to join the personnel being called up from the past few years’ reserve classes, but only just. Overall, Wagdog’s late mobilization was already having an effect, the nation not having wanted to worsen tensions and be blamed for it. Still, the fact that provisions for a crash mobilization like the one underway now had been made for years was helping matters; even if not quite enough perhaps in the short term.
Those men presented the problem. Although conference with the Defense Department indicated that the nation could send its optimum number of Army Groups and its desired number of Fleet Groups to Generia, at present that was only if all fleets currently in reserve in the Lazarus region were sortied; and if the appropriate sets of ground and air equipment were requisitioned from Red Guard formations to equip the newly-raised active armies, after themselves being modified to the desired standards first. Doable, but for now those Guardsmen would have to make do with prior-standard equipment, not used since before the Hatarian Crises of a few years ago; a situation only to be entered into for lack of any alternative.
Be that as it may, reports from the relevant departments indicated the process was at least working; more or less. The reservists were answering the calls to the colors, and the factories were meeting their work goals before shipping the hardware back to its parent units. In short, things were going as well as Murphy’s Law would let them; and it was foolish to wish for better.
Hence, General Secretary Lind typed up the following secure communiqué to Marshal Kazansky in Sofia, Generia. He figured now was the time to serve notice of a deployment surely deemed tardy by now.
SIC
To the Esteemed Field Marshal Alexander Kirillovich Kazansky,
My apologies for the lateness of our deployment, but as I type this the first units of Wagdog’s contribution to this endeavor against Doomingsland depart for the Generian Theater. Their arrival will take some days, but should be complete by the Twenty-Sixth of the month; the Twenty-Seventh at latest. To save time, we are deploying with our own upgraded equipment, although we are still open to placing this in reserve once a common Allied standard is agreed upon and provided time remains to adapt our organizations and personnel to the new gear accordingly. We’ve already approached the Generians about supplying us with Doomani-caliber weapons for this campaign, which we shall take advantage of now that they’ve agreed to it; so our forces already are adapting to local conditions.
In all, we send ten full Army Groups (Sixteenth through Twenty-Fifth) under Field Marshal Eileen Millenhaus, and three full Fleet Groups (Second, Fourth and Fifth) under Grand Admiral Jeanette Ambereye. Organization is as detailed below, our forces coming to just under four and a quarter million personnel; with vehicles appropriate to that number and some five-hundred and twenty ships. Lower than we’d predicted at first, but still sufficient for our part in this we believe. In fact, a compromise between our delegation’s projections at the conference, the ideal ground and air commitment being available but not the ideal fleet disposition. We're not certain if and when more can arrive, least of all in naval terms; but if possible we will send it right away and serve notice thereof. In any case, I wish you well in this fight Field Marshal, and entrust the safety of my personnel to your command; good luck to us all.
Sincerely,

IC:
All was almost ready, but the Allaneans were not content. They were still flying in extra forces. In this particular case, they had sent in about 20,000 various private militias and mercenary troops hired by the Allanean government, and two more Arsenal ships, carrying ABM missiles this time, and accompanied by about 25 SSBNs.
In the meanwhile, Ouroboros aircraft were moving back and forth between the Generic Empire and Allanea, ferrying in more and more combat aircraft, troops, and so forth.
The Allanean forces in the Straight have still lacked many things, and some of those things would be brought by the Ouroborii. Such would be helicopters. And so, an array of 2,500 Ki-1TVK, 3,000 Ki-1T, and 7,000 SAH-27A helicopters, as well as 5,000 M87K VTOL transports was brought in, in part by Ouroborii, in part by cargo ships.
And yet this was not all. An array of 10,000 LU-45 AF Air Superiorty Fighters, 4,000 SuA-1 Strikecat aircraft, and 45 F/B 117A bombers was brought on base as well. IN the sky, Gorgon I and ZMI Ocelot Orbital Combatants stood at the ready. Near the Generian Capital 50 Lancaster bombers were prepared to fight. Sattelites were relocated.
In the meanwhile, Allanean troops in Generia were continuing their drills.
Slaughter the fascist,
Brutally kill every theocrat,
Slay the Doomani,
Fill your mouth with their blood!
“Scouts!” – the Scoutmaster bellowed, his voice coarse, trying to scream over the heavy metal band bellowing anti-Doomani hate music through powerful loudspeakers. Some form of hate band was contracted by the Allanean government to make this tune, and now it was heard on every Boy Scout base throughout the country.
Glory to freedom!
Darkness shall end at the sunrise!
Glory to victory!
Wash your bayonet in blood!
“Scouts! What will you do when the Doomani invade this country around you?”
“Kill them, SIR!” – the choir of five hundred voices responded.
“How will you kill the Doomani, boys and girls?!” – barked the Scout Master.
“Two to the chest! One to the head! Guaranteed to make a man dead!” – chanted the Boy Scouts.
“Will you hesitate, Scouts?”
“No, Sir! We-will-not-SIR!”
You have all sinned,
But Freemen have not forgotten,
You will be punished,
We haste to spill all your blood.
“Do you know what to do if you run out of ammunition, Scouts?”
“Yes, Sir! Stab them with the bayonet, smash them with the stock!”
“Have you done your bayonet drills today? Don’t answer this, because I know you haven’t! And I know something that’ll make you very happy, boys and girls! Today is Bayonet Day!”
And so the bayonet training began. Or rather, the Krav Maga training – it involved training in the use of the various Allanean small arms as close quarters weapons – to teach the young troops to crack skulls, break arms and legs, and to stab and slash with the monstrous ten-inch bayonet-knives that the Allanean Army was famous for.
More importantly, it was designed to work upon the very souls of the Allanean 16-year-old and 17-year-old Scouts. They would not flinch away from violence, they would not fret in battle, they would revel in the death of the enemy.
And when D-Day, H-Hour came, they would be ready.
OOC: All though I never attended the Conference I agreed to deploy at Allanea's request also Wagdog is my Closest Ally and what kind of Ally would I be if I allowed him to face this alone.
VDF Operational Command, New Theeb, Vetaka:
"The Generian Expeditionary Force is ready to deploy Ma'am" spoke Stone softly from across the Command Room.
"Thank You Mr Stone" replied President Rogers
She made her way across the room and fitted herself a Headset bringing up the channel she began:
"Good Morning...... In less than an hour you men and women Defenders of Freedom and Protectors of Loyalty will deploy to take part in a world wide campaign. The message transmitted to every OBSAT Ear Peice and through every PA System within the Expeditionary Force. Following this Scarlet nodded to Superme Operational Commander Stone whom sent the order for the Force to move out. With that the President herself hammered out a message to Field Marshal Kirillovich Kazansky.

OOC: Oh god, this post sucks.
Anyway, are we ready?
"This emergency session of the Parliament of the Federal Republic of Hamilay has been called here today to make an announcement of the utmost importance. Hamilayan troops are being deployed as we speak to Generia."
The Prince of Wales-class dreadnought Adjudicator , flagship of the Hamilayan Navy, was an impressive sight against the backdrop of the horizon and a full Fleet Battle Group of the Hamilayan Navy, hastily cobbled together from depleted formations of the Navy after the Civil War to form a full-strength unit. The venerable Adjudicator was due to be retired, but the scale of this mission was such that one super-dreadnought was needed as a matter of principle, at least.
So now the Adjudicator sailed to Generia on her final mission, to end her career in glory.
"Over a million soldiers are now beginning to disembark on Generian soil to support the Allanean-led contribution to reinforce Generia's defences. This, as you may know, is the largest Hamilayan deployment ever."
The LC-2 Intruder landing platform docks and merchant marine craft, interspersed among the DMG-built warships, pulled up alongside the docks at the ports surrounding the peninsula containing Allied High Command.
"The wisdom of this may be fairly questioned, due to the recent civil conflict here. However, the Empire accused us of breaking promises, and promises, and something more, are why Hamilayans are now landing in Generia at this very minute."
Field Marshal Bennett stood on the Adjudicator's bridge, watching the lines of Hamilayan soldiers march efficiently down the ramps to get their first contact with Generian soil.
"Hamilayan soldiers are in Generia because the Republic has promised to defend freedom. The Republic has promised to fight against tyranny. The Republic has promised Allanea, and the nations of the world, to fight Doomingsland, perhaps the greatest tyrant of them all. The Federal Republic keeps its promises."
Also accompanying the 1st Naval Expeditionary Force were Ilyushin and Lockheed aircraft, loaded with more supplies, soldiers and vehicles to supplement the transport ships. These too landed around Generia, and the troops inside proceeded south.
Ever closer to Doomingsland.
"Due to this, the Federal Republic now moves to DEFCON 2, and I am assuming all emergency presidential powers given by the heightened state of emergency. Hamilay will remain focused on this endeavour. We will not waver. We will not retreat. We will support Allanea, Generia and Hamilayan soldiers in whatever way possible. All of us have seen the atrocities Doomingsland has visited upon innocent people of the world. This will not be allowed to happen to the Generian people."
Field Marshal Bennett returned into the ship's command centre, to notify the Allied commanders of the Hamilayan arrival. There was to be no turning back now. His soldiers would fight the Doomani, when the time came. Bennett was sure it would come. So, the Doomani would come, and Hamilayan soldiers would march and fight. For Generia. For Hamilay. For freedom.
"Honourable members of Parliament, this is all. I thank you for your continuing support in this matter. Hamilayan soldiers will die in this. It is unavoidable. They will not do so in vain. Dulce Et Decorum Est."
... Pro Patria Mori. For the Fatherland. Though this was not about the Fatherland. How many of his men and women would die? Furthermore, that they were supposed to die without a word, dutifully and with dignity, somehow galled the Field Marshal. Never mind, said the little voice. They are good soldiers, and they are somehow... meant to be here. This is what the Hamilayan Army is meant to be doing at this point in time.
"Admiral, how long till the first divisions are organized on the ground?

OOC: Oh god, this post sucks.
Anyway, are we ready?
OOC: Depends. If we give this until tomorrow afternoon, I can send another fleet group to bulk up my naval commitments. That would be about my limit considering other possible contingencies, but all the same I figure I should make mention; at any rate it would give any other last-minute joinees time to get in place. Plus there's the possibility of reequipping at least some of our deployments to a common standard to take into account, which I'm guessing would be other surplus Kriegzimmer gear since that's what all the Nakils and Regisnars on offer would imply. I can fight as-am well-enough, but I'm just saying we need to come to a decision on that issue before we get rolling here; to give those swapping out their gear time to rearm and get oriented on the stuff. Am in the process of concocting a revised OOB should I do so...
EDIT: Speaking of which, would the following be available from the various donor powers' stocks in theater for me to 'Kriegzimmerize' my overall ground forces in Generia? I figure that'll be the standard here, if anything; but again what's available is what's available. Breakdown is by the parent unit types the gear would be assigned to...
Armor: 35,000 Nakíl 1A1 MBTs (GU variant preferably, but not a requirement), 7,500 G11/G Tank Destroyers, 10,000 Fernántes AVLBs
Infantry/Cavalry: 40,000 Shalmaneser APCs, 40,000 Ashurbanipal Light Tanks, 10,000 Dejíard Assault Guns, 4,500 Corbulo Light SP Guns
Artillery: 4,000 Gertantel SP Guns, 4,000 YUA(VT) resupply vehicles, 1,000 Asnít MLRS, 1,000 Regisnár SRBMs
Air Defenses: 22,500 Praetorian II SAMs, 10,000 SPAA-1 SPAA
All other gear would remain as indicated in my first OOB, since retraining my pilots and ship crews now that I've deployed them wouldn't make sense really; considering the time left ICly speaking.

Official Imperial Communique
To: Officers of the Allied Forces deployed throughout the Freudian Protectorate and Generia Proper
By order of his Majesty, Emperor Kazatmiru I, in order to ensure that operations in this theater move smoothly without confusion or command disagreements, General Sverik Iljievo, Supreme Commander of the Imperial Army, has been appointed Commander in Chief of Allied Operations. From this point forward, all military operations undertaken from Generian or Freudian territory under the banner of the multinational Anti-Doomani coalition formed in Sofia will require his approval.
OOC: I have a huge stock of Nakil 1A1s, Wagdog, so feel free to draw on that.
OOC: I have a huge stock of Nakil 1A1s, Wagdog, so feel free to draw on that.
OOC: Cool. I take it the support stuff is less plentiful/more needed by its current users? Converting whole for this theater would make logistical interoperability easier between my various units, but nonetheless one uses what's around. Ah well, enough OOC spam on that topic, since we'll sort that well enough when this all goes down.
IC
Field Marshal Eileen Millenhaus read the dispatch from His Imperial Majesty; and although it did irk her a bit to be under the command of a mere General, nonetheless she knew there was nothing for it since an Emperor surely outranked her any day. Ah well, just keep to your forces' part in the Freudo-Generian strategy here, driving the Doomani eastward into the waiting Generian forces at least, and things'll be fine. A strategy she agreed with, not least because it kept things force-oriented so that urban fighting where the vile Pestis Dei would be most devastating could be minimized. They had to fight the Doomani forces as much as possible, and the Doomani people only where necessary; at least in her mind.
Looking at the latest reports from USSW Combined Army Group Generia G4 section, the overlooked supply people that kept every army everywhere from degenerating into a starving and disarmed mob, Millenhaus sighed as she signed off on the request forms for 35,000 Allanean-surplus Nakíl 1A1 tanks. They were vastly different from the Czechalrussian-standard MBT-30s Wagdog had brought to the theater as its still-standard tank; and although one might argue about the relative strengths and weaknesses of the two designs, one couldn't dispute that most of the forces in the Generian theater had Nakíls in at least some numbers. Not least of whom being the Vetakans, who although they'd brought their older Challenger IIs nonetheless were already re-equipping with the Golden Throne's star weapons system back home in Lazarus. Hence, it was only sensible that Wagdog operate the same tank at least as their closest allies, if not more should they be able to scrounge up the relevant items from either Allanean or Hotdian surplus stocks. The MBT-30s would head into theater-reserve storage, ready in case some battlefield disaster crippled the army's Nakíl force beyond use and the tank arm needed rapid reconstitution afterward.
Thinking of this, she typed out the following communique to Sofia as needed doing. She knew that, unlike the bulk of her experiences in Strator and Mhoudia years ago, this theater was going to go VERY hot, very soon. Of that there could be absolutely zero mistake; hence the need to keep to Unity of Command and the other principles of war as well...
From: FM Eileen Millenhaus; CO, USSW Combined Army Group Generia
To: General Sverik Iljevo; Supereme Commander, Generian Imperial Army
I humbly acknowledge your authority over myself and my forces, as per the sovereign command of His Imperial Majesty Kazatmiru I, and thus declare that we are at your disposal. My naval counterpart, Grand Admiral Ambereye, has conferred and concurred with me in this; and we are prepared to carry out your orders to our fullest abilities, as inform your staff of all operations on our part pending your approval thereof so as to ensure unity of command in this theater.
For weeks, the nation had been preparing for the deployment of Vetalian forces to Generia. Patriotism and nationalism of all forms had climbed to disturbingly high levels, and the country was bedecked with various banners boasting the superiority of the allied forces against the Doomani threat. Many times, they ventured far beyond the innocent "Doom the Doomani" of the Ministry of Defense to outright ethnic and racial stereotyping of their enemies. The country's levels of militarism and pride had climbed to their highest point since the Revolution, and it was seen both in public displays as well as the generous new increases in defense spending greenlighted by the Senate. They in turn were reflected in the gleaming new ships, weapons, and defenses sprouting around the country in an impromptu iron harvest.
In fact, it was downright terrifying at times. The Vetalians had always been seen as a soft people more interested in making money or pursuing the latest fashions, art, and music than war. But now, things had changed, and their country had made a massive swing towards a renewed patriotism. Others called it the birth of fascism. Admiral Starov was one of those concerned. He had served in the armed forces during the Revolution itself, eventually working his way up to Admiral in the Vetalian Navy. He knew first hand the horrors of war as well as the spirit which had motivated him and many of his generation to overthrow the corrupt empire during that long five years in the early 1950's.
Now, he stood at the window of his quarters on the superdreadnought Сумерки (Sumerki), a newly commissioned dreadnought meant to serve as the flagship of the expeditionary fleet being dispatched to Generia. He paused, taking a drink of wine, the ancient drink so popular among many Vetalians of all classes.
"Vice Admiral, I need to ask you something before we depart, and I need to ask you now."
"What is it, Admiral?"
"What is more important to you, the scale or the sword?"
"I'm sorry, sir, I don't understand..."
"Yes, you do. Recall your studies at Trepov Academy...you studied classical literature, didn't you?"
"Yes, but I don't know what an excerpt from The Trials of Prokor has to do with this...I could hardly understand it with all the archaic old Vetalian."
"But you understand that passage. Now, which do you support?"
"Well, that's easy, sir. I support the scale."
"Do you, or do you support it like Orlokov?"
"I would never betray my country like that! It's insulting to even suggest it! You know that as well as I do, and neither would any of the other command staff. Most of us served in the Revolution itself, you know."
"I know, but I doubt the men under us feel the same way. There is evil at work in this country, evil fueled by what should be a noble cause. Tell me, what happened in your home province of Merova only yesterday?"
"I think we both know, sir, there's no need to bring it up..."
"What happened, Vice Admiral?"
"...a mob attacked a group of Catholics in our provincial capitol and vandalized their churches, wounding hundreds."
"And who was ultimately behind it?"
"The papers say it was a random act of violence, but I damn well know the local government was involved. I've heard the tripe parroted by the governor and the rest of his sycophants...it's disgusting and an insult, considering our governor is the same man that commissioned me as a Captain Lieutenant 22 years ago."
"Yes.... This country is sliding backwards, Vice Admiral, and I fear that all of my generation's struggle and your generation's building will be undone. I think you understand why I asked this, right?"
"Do you seriously think there will be a coup?"
"Not yet, but the conditions are ripe for it. I want to know that you, my closest adviser and, outside of our naval duties, my closest friend, will be willing to do what is necessary to preserve this country and the rule of law."
"Yes, I am willing. I swear it."
"Good. I will hold you to your oath. Now that the matter is settled, we will not speak of it again...prying eyes and ears are a concern even on a ship this big."
"Yes, Admiral. If you'll excuse me, I'm going to bring up the holo charts for Generia so we can plan out our course later tonight."
"Excellent, Vice Admiral. I will be in my quarters drafting messages to the Generians' and our other allies' command staff, so if you need me I will be there."
"Yes, sir."
"Again, Vice Admiral, thank you. It is comforting to know there are still good men fighting for our allies' freedom, as strange as it may seem."
"I'm honored, sir, truly. I hope it doesn't come to this, but if it does I am on your side."
"Neither do I."
With that, the Vice Admiral departed to activate the holo-chart mapping system in the command bridge. After he departed, the Admiral walked over, locked and sealed the door behind him and began typing messages to be sent to the Generians and other allies involved in the conflict.

Total manpower:
Approximately 400,000 men in the initial force and an additional 220,000 men in the reserve forces. 297 ships in the initial force, 215 in the secondary force.
In addition, far more forces could be dispatched in the event that the situation deteriorated further. Up to 80% of the country's total naval forces could be sent out at present without threatening coastal or trade security back home in Vetalia. The country was on the march, but how it would turn out was still unknown to all involved.
Grand Admiral Jeanette Ambereye was glad to be aboard her supercarrier and flagship, the UWS Rosa Luxemburg, as she read the new orders. Even if in port, supervising through the windows various aircraft maintenance and munitions loading tasks going on far below the carriers' island. Finally, we get some help here... ran her thoughts as she read her government's communique to her regarding the new Fleet Group heading for Generian waters; Twelfth specifically. Along with Eleventh back home in reserve, it had been working up since shortly after the conference, and soon Twelfth Fleet Group would make a major contribution to the stability of this theater. Readying the message for the secure fax, she soon saw to it that this was sent General Iljevo's way...

From: Grand Admiral Jeanette Ambereye; CO, USSW Combined Fleet Group Generia
To: General Sverik Iljevo; Supreme Commander, Generian Imperial Army
I serve notice that, this force having been established and worked-up in recent weeks, we can deploy a new Fleet Group as we had speculated, namely Twelfth. This is estimated to be the maximum we can safely spare for this theater, considering our present commitments already in-theater weighed against other possible contingencies closer to home, but all the same it shall be a formidable force indeed once added to our current deployments. We request that, as my Army Counterpart FM Millenhaus has already for her forces, we be permitted to tap into Allied surplus stocks to re-equip this new force's subordinate Marine units with appropriate numbers of the presumed new standard issue kit available for this theater; and to move their current standard equipment into reserve stocks accordingly where applicable. At present, however, this is what shall arrive soon; with the vessels and aircraft being judged suitable for operations already...

With hostilities looking imminent on other fronts, President al-Omari called up the reserves.
Many reservists had already been activated to defend their northern border, although to avoid antagonizing the Northfordians, their defenses were massed a hundred kilometers inward, well out of range of artillery fire from either side. The military was increased to a total strength of five million active and fifteen million reserves, and 950,000 troops were sent to Generia, along with the majority of the Republic Navy's supply vessels, which would only be targets in a homefront conflict but could ferry vast amounts of ammunition, food, weapons, and even troops between Freudotopia and Generia.
Total strength in Generia:
10,000 Nakil 1A1GU tanks
600 Z-40 T-Rex 280mm SPG's
1,800 Z-38 Panther 155mm SPG's
2,500 Praetorian II SAM launchers
5,500 SPAA-1 AA systems
2,000 Merkava IV MBT's
1,600 GLI-76 VTOL fighters
30 E-3 Sentries
30 Naram-Sin strategic bombers
8 Emmanuel Goldstein-class heavy battleships
2 Union-class heavy carriers
12 Royal Holly-class medium carriers
100 Sianach-class DDGN's
25 Castle-class CAGN's
30 Solquist-class CGN's
40 Tichy-class SSN's
1,000,000 troops
