my fact book, such as it is, in a woeful state of disrepair and lack of information :headbang: using RL geographic references until i manage to get some sort of map with the relevant things marked [which may be never]

Population: 36,000,000 [arbitrary, and if someone has a better idea that actually works, i'll change it. adjusted up due to neighbors and global population silliness]
Geographical location: inland USA
Capital: Angerwraith
Government type: constitutional monarchy
Full name: the Prinsipality of Angermanland
Adjective: ouhAngermanland
Currency: Gilt [originally one week’s labour for a farmhand. Now closer to the approximate value of basic room and bored for one day]

Government:

Monarchy, with elected legislature and separate judiciary, [though the monarch is the final court of appeal and must sign any proposed legislation to come out of parliament before it becomes law]

Old style nobility in charge of local government.

Army: breach loading 6 9 and 12 pdr artillery, including horse artillery. Most artillery is unrifled. Most infantry units are mounted for mobility. Some actual heavy cavalry units [technically cuirassiers but trained in dragoon tactics], but not many. Use licorns [aka unicorn guns] instead of howitzers. [10pdr licorn replaces 6pdr howitzers, 20pdr licorn replaces 9 pdr howitzer]. Infantry carry muzzle loading rifles, currently.

360 thousand men, mostly border guards, fenceables, and other semi-professional soldiers. two regiments of dragoons [each of 10 squadrons of 120 men and horse each], some 30 artillery batteries [of five hundred men and 10 guns each, including horse batteries] , and 6 regiments [of three battalions of ~ 1000 men each] of infantry form the standing army.

small forts guard most of the northern and southern borders, as well as those parts of the east not bordering Incognitia and those parts of the west that it is actually possible to move an army through. the border with Incognitia has less fortresses, and they date from further back in history, though they are quite a bit larger.

Navy = police boats, little more than small paddle steamers, modified to mount a few cannon for the occasional bit of river-going law enforcement. not really up for much combat wise.

Industry: textiles, clothing, canning, arms and armament, [others once I find out what raw materials are available]


Other stuffs:
Industrialised/ing, light rail in cities, mostly tram lines driven by 0-4-0 tram engines, and heavier tracks with 4-4-0 locomotives running all across the countryside. recent upgrades to the main lines and rolling stock have brought about the construction of four 4-6-0 locomotives for express runs on the main lines, as well.

Geography:

Rockies on the west border. Desert in the south west. Grainlands in the south east. Includes the bulk of the Colorado River. capital is on the Colorado, somewhere near the middle of the nation on a north/south axis. industry is concentrated along the Colorado River [due to it's being a ready source of water and all]


Raw materials: grains, gold, silver, cattle, sheep, timber, horses, iron [in the north somewhere] coal [see iron] [unless told otherwise, at least some of all naturally occurring minerals are assumed to exist somewhere in my territory.]
