OOC: This is the official election thread... I explained how this works before, but I'll do it again here.

You all (EFJ members) are the Federation populace. In case of a tie, I am the swing vote. You can RP citizens going to vote, or you can just have your news stations report on how the voting is going.

Candidate issues and how they answered questions can be found here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=530233).

Let the voting begin.

Voting for the Federation's new Premier and next President began just a short time ago. The latest polls before the election started, and after the debate ended, showed the favorite was Congresswoman Parsons, due to her experience and calm manner. Next was Mr. Turian, who everyone thought made strides to position himself for a future run if he does not win this time around. Bringing up the rear by a wide margin was Director Darcy, who's outburst at the Honokan representative really seemed to hurt him. However, Congresswoman Parsons' bickering with the Schroeder Corp. rep at the end could hurt her chances also. It will be interesting to see how these elections play out.

Mr. Turian struck Mr. Jones as a tough old bastard, but maybe thats what the Federation needed in a tough world. He wasn't a fan of the Congresswoman and had voted against her, raising taxes on one segment of society seemed wrong to him, even if it was the wealthy it was treating them like second class citizens, or worse punishing them for being succesful...

ANN Special Report
Today after a Fiery debate; the Federations elections for a new president have begun in Ernest as you can see behind me people in the federation are eager to have there voice heard and cast there vote in democracy. Initial exit poles show Candidate Turian with a healthy lead of 57% and Candidate Parsons coming second with 28%. Animarnians are cautiously optimistic at the elections and Candidate Parsons has had a large show of support however many feel her heavy socialist leanings may have damaged her campaign. Many Animarnians feel she may end up a 'one argument candidate' who hasn't distinguished her polices other than expressing the view she can do a better job than the current administration without tell us why that said however many Animarnians view her as the safe choice for international peace.

Candidate Turian has also had moderate support in Animarnia with many Animarnians saying 'he is the way of common sense' however many also view his lack of condemnation of imperialistic operations including the former administrations as condoning such actions. Candidate Darcy despite his political experience has had little to no support in Animarnia.

CNN Special News Report:

This is John Galloway, live from Ambrose-Douglas, for the election of the "Premier", it seem's, Mr. Turian is the favorite, plus back home, he's also our favorite, he's mine too. Whoopsidasie (laughing heard from people in the background), I let my bias show through, so, um Mr. Turian is the one I'd bet to win the election's, good bye!"

SCNN REPORT

The Council of Executives is happy to see that Mr. Turian is in the lead with his corporate-friendly attitude. If (when...) he wins, the Corporation wishes to send him a complementary gift bag, straight from the precious resources dept. at S2M. The brass at Schroeder Defense Industries are also very pleased to see Congressbit...sorry, Congresswoman Parsons trailing behind as they did not look forward to seeing such a thick-skulled peacenick running a trade partner of the Corporation.
