Part 1: Life in the "Green Japan"

The Green Book is Japan's Red Book (Mao), studied by the patriotic followers of Japan. It was written by Libya's Qaddafi and was at first only implemented in Libya, but recently Japan has grown to accept it. It influences everyday life, as the Japanese people begin to see its implementation all over Japan.

Japan's Young Pioneers and the National Youth Association are based on the Soviet Komsomol and Young Pioneers, the Japanese equivalent to the Little Octoberists would be the Little Novemberists, named for the month the "Green Revolution" occured. (OOC: Yes I know it is June)

The Emperor of Japan still maintains his throne and this is protected by the Government. However, he is mostly a figurehead, the Constitution calls him a "beacon of national pride". The Constitution of Japan is comparable to the Constitution of Libya, though it has its differences.

Japan has rewritten Article 9, making the Self Defence Forces into an Army, Navy and Air Force. It is unknown as to whether the Green Japan will begin a nuclear weapons program, something the Japanese people, if you remember Hiroshima and Nagasaki, may not like.

The citizens of Japan are allowed, if they choose to, to decide where their taxes go in terms of government departments, literally, they can choose for example to have more money go to Health and Social Welfare than Education. Not everyone participates in this process though.

The Kaibara Government has begun implementing reforms in Japan, but it will be some time before their effects are felt by the people of Japan. The Government has also made foreign policy focused on diplomacy and co-operation, rejecting autarky and isolationism.

This book is the book studied and applied by the Home Guard, a group that pledges itself to defend Japan using guerilla warfare to fight any enemy who invades. They use this book as their official handbook.

Part 2: Democracy in Japan

"First, the people are divided into Basic Popular Conferences. Each Basic Popular Conference chooses its secretariat. The secretariats of all Popular Conferences together form Non-Basic Popular Conferences. Subsequently, the masses of the Basic Popular Conferences select administrative People's Committees to replace government administration. All public institutions are run by People's Committees which will be accountable to the Basic Popular Conferences which dictate the policy and supervise its execution. Thus, both the administration and the supervision become the people's and the outdated definition of democracy - democracy is the supervision of the government by the people - becomes obsolete. It will be replaced by the true definition: Democracy is the supervision of the people by the people.

All citizens who are members of these Popular Conferences belong, vocationally and functionally, to various sectors and have, therefore, to form themselves into their own professional Popular Conferences in addition to being, by virtue of citizenship, members of the Basic Popular Conferences or People's Committees. Subjects dealt with by the Popular Conferences and People's Committees will eventually take their final shape in the General People's Congress, which brings together the Secretariats of the Popular Conferences and People's Committees. Resolutions of the General People's Congress, which meets annually or periodically, are passed on to the Popular Conferences and People's Committees, which undertake the execution of those resolutions through the responsible committees, which are, in turn, accountable to the Basic Popular Conferences."

This is quoted directly from the Green Book and is the model for democracy in the "Green Japan".
