Sequoia Weaponworks launches the G500 Modular Weapon System

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c197/USCMC/nationstates/G500-M2-ABR_basic.png

HARMONY CITY, E.A. (June 17, 2007) - Sequoia Weaponworks LLC, a wholy owned subsidairy of Sequoia Defence Systems of Etoile Arcture, is proud to announce immediate export availability of their new family of automatic rifles and carbines on the international arms market, the G500 Modular Weapon System.

The G500 Modular Weapon System represents a new family of short stroke gas piston operated automatic weapons chambered for intermediate cartridges optimised for close quarters knockdown power (6.8x43 mm Remington SPC) or superior terminal ballistics with long range sub-m.o.a. accuracy (6.5x39 mm Grendel). To achieve high durability, reliability and zero failure each weapon is manufactured to stringent ISO 9001 quality management standards, being constructed from dust/snow/oil/water/shock-resistant polymers and high strength chromed steel.

The G500 will be offered in a variety of customisable configurations and calibres, to include the G500 and G502 series of Assault/Battle Rifles, the G501K Assault Carbine and G550 Designated Marksman Rifle. Each weapon features a highly stable folding buttstock and a free floating four quadrant MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail system for attachment of sights, accessories and undermounted weapon modules.

Sequoia Weaponworks can also refurbish, recondition and repair these weapons, and produce spare parts and component kits such as barrels, springs, screws, handguards, rail systems, upper and lower receivers and buttstocks. In addition, we provide centralized procurement and training services for our export customers. These include Simunition force-on-force training ammunition (coloured-soap bullets) and MILES training aids to allow armed forces to rapidly train recruits or convert to a new platform.

(G500-M2 ABR shown with iron sights, Aimpoint clone, vertical grip and ABS rail guards)

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

The G500 Assault/Battle Rifle is an air cooled, gas piston operated, selective fire automatic rifle available in a number of chamberings for maximum tactical flexibility. These include 6.5x39 mm Grendel (model: G500-M2 ABR), 6.5x42 mm MPC (model: G500-M2C ABR), 6.64x51 mm Kriegzimmer (model: G502-M6 ABR) and 6.8x41 mm Remington SPC cartridge (model: G502-M1A ABR).

The receiver is made from polyetherimide polymers with steel reinforcement inserts and has two major parts, upper and lower, connected by steel cross-bolts. The barrel, bolt carrier group and firing pin are configured inline consisting of a no tools quick-detachable barrel/trunnion system secured by two lugs for rapid in-field replacement. Construction is of 4140 chrome-moly high tensile steel with a manganese phosphate corrosion-resistant finish. The barrel is threaded with a Remington 700 five-port flash suppressor/muzzle compensator attached.

The ejector port is on the upper reciever and incorporates a deflector for throwing spent cases forward and away from the shooter. The pistol handle and trigger guard are built in one trigger group and controlled by a Match two-stage trigger and ambidextrous safety/selector switch modelled on Heckler & Kock designs. The standard trigger group allows to execute single fire, semi auto, or automatic fire with the selector moving between all modes in only 90°.

Four-quadrant MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rails are molded directly into a flat-top reciever (full length) and in the 3, 6, and 9 O'clock positions around the forend (half length). These free float the barrel to enhance accuracy. The reciever rail typically mounts flip-up iron sights for rapid target acqusition, consisting a rear apeture adjustable for windage and a front post adjustable for elevation. The night sight is a Tritium illuminated dot on the front post. A side-folding skeletonized polymer buttstock that folds to the right and can be equipped with a non-adjustable cheek piece completes the basic equipment.

UNDER-RAIL ACCESSORY MODULES

Enhanced Grenade Launcher Module

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c197/USCMC/nationstates/G500-M2-ABR-GLM-FCM.png

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

The EGLM comprises two components installed on the MIL-STD-1913 accessory rail of a G500/G502 host weapon: the 40 mm GLM (on the 6 o-clock position) and the FCM unit (on the 12 o-clock position).

The 40 mm Grenade Launcher Module (GLM) is a side loading, low-velocity 40 mm, multifunctional single-shot grenade launcher. It has a side loading action that can be pivoted to the left or right for ambidextrous loading with an unrestricted breech mechanism design that enables the GLM to utlise any type of 40x46 mm lethal and non-lethal munition. The GLM also features a slot-through trigger guard for the host weapon magazine to fit through, rifled aluminium barrel, a double action trigger and ambidextrous safety/selector lever. The weapon can be converted to a standalone configuration by attaching a pistol grip and buttstock via the integral reciever MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail.

The Fire Control Module (FCM) is the control platform of the weapon and consists a 2.4x GEN III FLIR sight and eye-safe laser rangefinder combined with a ballistic computer. The reticle on the sighting unit displays cues to indicate the correct shooting angle and predicted impact point of a round using accurate range-to-target data from the laser rangefinder. For enhanced first round probability to hit the FCM has additional modes that compensate for the type of ammunition used, when firing against static or moving targets, and against targets in defilade. At present it is not compatible with the lastest programmable fuses, though this may be addressed in future uprades. For close quarters use a backup 1.5x reflex sight is molded on to the top of the main unit.

A reversable charging handle can be mounted either side of the weapon for ambidextrous handling. The handle loads shotshells individually from a five-round box magazine, and offers more rapid ammunition type change and quicker reloading than a pump action allows.

The reciever is made from hard anodized aluminium and the bolt and barrel from stainless steel. The short barrel is fitted with a muzzle break/breaching stand-off adaptor and polymer handguards. The TSM mounts by a MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail and will zero to the host weapon. It can also be converted to a standalone shotgun by attaching a pistol grip and collapsible buttstock, with a collimating red-dot (reflex) or ghost ring sight mounted on the units flat-top reciever rail.

Tarlag Defense Force

The Grand Duchy of Tarlag would like to purchase 200,000 G500 Assault/Battle Rifles in 6.8x41 Remington for 290,000,000 USD.

The one question we do have about the system is that will the rail system accommodate or can be modified with an adaptor for the HK-79 under barrel grenade launcher which we have in great supply.
If the G500 proves effective in combat against the forces of Doomingland we would consider a license to produce this system ourselves and make it the standard battle rifle of our forces replacing the H&K G-36.
If that is the case we would be looking at production run of about eight to ten million

We thank the Tarlag Defense Force for their interest in the G500 Modular Weapon System. Your order for 200,000 rifles can be fulfilled immediately with deliveries made from existing stocks. The subtotal of this order would be NS $290 million. Delivery of the complete consignment can be made within 1 NS month by oceanic bulk carrier.

In answer to your query concerning adaptation of the HK79 grenade launcher to the G500 rifle we are pleased to confirm that this would be possible. A aluminium forend adaptor (based on the G36/AG36 forend mounting kit) can be welded on to the HK79 for this purpose. For an additional NS $30 million we can produce all neccessary parts for this modification to enable your armourers to complete this conversion. All parts and tooling can be delibered in 3 NS months.

If this is acceptable, your order for 200,000 G501-M1A Assault/Battle Rifles, plus 200,000 HK79 forend adaptor kits, comes to a grant total of NS $320 million. We await confirmation or modification of your order.

Greetings- Recently your corporation, Sequoia Weapon Works, offered us an assault rifle in our Request for Proposals. Unfortunately, by the time of your entry, we had already fulfilled our requirement for an assault rifle with Kriegzimmer Export. However, we had, at the time of our Request for Proposals, overlooked the necessary requirements for our special services (both police and Defense Forces). We have compared the Hali-53 and the G500 Modular Weapon System and determined that the G500 series better fulfills our requirements for a special services firearm.

Thus, it is in our interests to acquire one thousand G500 Assault Rifles and three thousand G501K Assault Carbines. To supplement this, we will require about five hundred Enhanced Grenade Launcher modules and three hundred G550 Designated Marksman Rifles. We would prefer the 6.5mm Grendel chambering.

We would also like to know if a domestic arms corporation, specifically Western Armaments, can be allowed to rechamber these weapons, if required. At the moment, due to the founding and, now, outfitting of our Defense Forces (and police forces), we are still experimenting in terms of our logistical capacity, and we currently do not employ the 6.5mm Grendel beyond civilian firearms. Therefore, if we find that having an additional assault rifle caliber is too much in terms of logistical capacity, we simply ask for the right to rechamber the weapon as required. If a domestic arms corporation or depot is not authorized to do this, we will grudgingly ship them back for rechambering (if rechambering is even allowed (or capable) for the G500 series).

Thank you for your cooperation, we look forward to your response.

We thank Western Motor Corporation for their consideration of the G500 Modular Weapon System for this contract.

We are also pleased to confirm that Sequoia Weaponworks can supply the G500 MWS rechambered in 6.64x51 mm Kriegzimmer for harmonisation with your existing logistics supporting the Hali-53 Assault Rifle.

Our initial testing indicates that the 6.64K will feed 26 rounds from a our 6.8SPC polymer magazines. To supply the G500 MWS in 6.64K would entail changes to the bolt, barrel and receiver magazine of our rifles, and conversion of production tooling on one or more of our production lines. Such changes do affect the unit acquisition cost, but not significantly and remain competitive to the prices being charged by Kriegzimmer Export. We continue to test a few sample rifles and are confident of finalising the design in 2 NS weeks.

The revised pricing is as follows: G500-M6 ABR, cal. 6.64x51 mm Kriegzimmer, 14 1/2” (368 mm) barrel, Assault/Battle Rifle: NS$1,600.00

G501K-M6 CAR, cal. 6.64x51 mm Kriegzimmer, 10 1/2” (267 mm) barrel, Assault Carbine: NS$1,400.00

G550-M6 HBAR-DMR, cal. 6.64x51 mm Kriegzimmer, 16 1/2” (419 mm) HBAR, Designated Marksman Rifle: NS$5,500.00

Enhanced Grenade Launcher Module, cal. 40x46 mm: NS$5,500.00Your revised order would therefore come to a net total of NS$10,200,000

We hope this is acceptable and wait your response.

This is excellent! We wish to commend Sequoia Weaponworks for your quick response on the matter, especially your willingness to rechamber the weapon from the factory. As per my previous communication, we do intend to purchase the stated numbers of G500 series rifles, and will continue to do so at the revised pricing. As it stands, we do have the funds available for immediate payment and will do so as soon as possible.

We look forward to the arrival of these fine weapons and their integration into our defense and police forces. Thank you for a fine product and excellent customer service.
