Defense Contractors Wanted

Granzi
16-06-2007, 23:04
Official Communiqué
The Foreign Ministry

Two years ago, in light of the Commonwealth's progressing recovery from the Second Civil War, Prime Minister Sean Parson commissioned Task Force 346DS to prepare a report on the status of the nation's military. This special task force recently published its findings in an internal Defense Ministry paper. Based on its conclusions, the Panel of Joint Allied Commanders, composed of the highest-ranking military officers in the Commonwealth, has decided to replace much of the aging equipment and vehicles now used by Granzian military personnel. In particular, the army was seen has having a dire technological gap that would imperil the success of future operations.

Our domestic defense contractors have provided some satisfactory designs that will eventually be integrated in the Commonwealth's armed forces. However, many more contracts have yet to be filled. It is with the mission of filling these contracts that the Ministry of Defense turns to the famed arms manufacturers of the international community. Total value of the military contracts is estimated in the trillions. It is our hope that by making this public announcement, we will receive in return the opportunity to peruse the best armaments possible.

Best regards,

OOC: Well you likely know i have a shed load of stuff and if i was to post up actualy examples of units it would just be copy pasted so that would likely be a waste of time.
But if i read it right you are looking more at aquiring say a decent gun design to incorporate into a domestic tank or armour/electroncis schemes that could also be incorportated etc.

One thign i woudl say your army needs is rotodynes!!!! if they interest you it might actually give me the push i need to get off my backside and actually designa pure attack rotodyne.

SUB: M-3 Arbiter Main Battle Tank

Ansa Land Systems would like to offer the M-3 Arbiter MBT (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12506141&postcount=1) to your office for consideration. Among its many numerous advantages is that it is tough, fast for a tank of its size, its range is quite literally limited to crew endurance and parts wear (there are enough hafnium isomer pellets in the feeder to keep a tank running for a year), and its main gun can penetrate the armour of any MBT in its weight class.

If your office wishes to tender a contract, we are at your service.

We at HBI are please to present our line-up of powered armour (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=507452) for your office's perusal in light of the recent blanket contract offer. Should your office find our products satisfactory to your military's needs we would as a matter of course provide any and all support necessary to ensure that your nation's soldiers know how to properly maintain our battlearmour. For militaries such as yours, who are used to inert ballistic protection vests, we would suggest a small initial order of one type of battlearmour to go to your best troops so that they may evaluate the suits in question, as we find that special units tends to adapt best to new equipment and training.

If you have any questions or would like to place a tender, we may be reached at any time.

Western Armaments Model Six Personal Defense Weapon (M6 PDW)

The Western Armaments Model Six personal defense weapon was initially designed and introduced several years ago at the bequest of several separate police, and even Defense Force, personnel whom required a sub machine gun, but with the penetrative power of an assault rifle – a personal defense weapon, or so it had been termed. Western Armaments, a continuous domestic power player in the personal firearms market (civilian only, this was their first, and only, military offering thus far) took the challenge, developing a weapon specifically to fulfill the requirements set forth by police and Defense Force personnel. Field trials proved to be cumbersome for the new weapon, resulting in a near complete redesign. However, when the redesign was finished, the Model Six as it was now designated, performed admirably through most conditions and was shown as beyond capable in terms of accuracy, controllability, and round performance of the new 6x36mm intermediate round developed exclusively for the Model Six (and eventually to find its way to the civilian market where it filled a niche role). With its stature in the Defense Forces firmly cemented (it is the only weapon thus far chosen to remain; as Western Motors issued a Request for Proposal which requested all new small arms, except for a PDW), Western Armaments sought, and gained, export permission. Its first export attempt would be fulfilling a potential contract to the Fuermak, the military of the Macabees, whose Kriegzimmer had just fulfilled most of the remainder of the small arms contracts of the Western Motors Defense Forces.

The Model Six was designed to be reliable, and relatively simple. It is selective fire (semi-automatic and automatic), straight blowback-operated, and capable of being ambidextrous (some modification required). Field stripping is accomplished in a low amount of time, and tolerance spaces were included to allow for the accumulation of dust and grime between field cleanings without negatively impacting performance. The 6x36mm Western Armaments Short round is a modification of the 6x47mm Western Armaments round developed for recreational and hunting firearms, and provides a reasonable middle ground between low recoil, high velocity/penetration, and stopping power. From the factory, the Model Six includes standard, fully adjustable (in the rear) iron sights, which can be removed, as well as a common rail interface on the upper receiver to allow for the attachment of various sights. Additional rail interfaces can be added to the sides of the weapon. The forward hand grip can be removed, revealing a second rail interface allowing for additional attachments such as forward vertical grips, lasers, flashlights, etc.

Sequoia Weaponworks official sales solicitation

Sir,

Sequoia Weaponworks LLC wishes to offer the Commonwealth of Granzi a firm fixed-price contract to supply its armed forces with infantry weapons. Enclosed for your consideration is an excerpt from out current Small Arms and Light Weapons catalogue describing two of our latest designs, the G500/G502 Assault/Battle Rifle and P270A Diablo Combat Pistol.

G500/G502 Assault/Battle Rifle

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c197/USCMC/nationstates/G500-M2-ABR.png
(G500-M2 ABR shown with iron sights, Aimpoint clone, vertical grip and ABS rail guards)

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

The G500/G502 Assault/Battle Rifle is an air cooled, gas piston operated, selective fire automatic rifle chambered for either the 6.5x39 mm Grendel cartridge (model: G500-M2 ABR) or the 6.8x41 mm Remington SPC cartridge (model: G502-M1A ABR).

The receiver is made from polyetherimide polymers with steel reinforcement inserts and has two major parts, upper and lower, connected by steel cross-bolts. The barrel, bolt carrier group and firing pin are configured inline consisting of a no tools quick-detachable barrel/trunnion system secured by two lugs for rapid in-field replacement. Construction is of 4140 chrome-moly high tensile steel with a manganese phosphate corrosion-resistant finish. The barrel is threaded with a Remington 700 five-port flash suppressor/muzzle compensator attached.

The ejector port is on the upper reciever and incorporates a deflector for throwing spent cases forward and away from the shooter. The pistol handle and trigger guard are built in one trigger group and controlled by a Match two-stage trigger and ambidextrous safety/selector switch modelled on Heckler & Kock designs. The standard trigger group allows to execute single fire, semi auto, or automatic fire with the selector moving between all modes in only 90°.

Four-quadrant MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rails are molded directly into a flat-top reciever (full length) and in the 3, 6, and 9 O'clock positions around the forend (half length). These free float the barrel to enhance accuracy. The reciever rail typically mounts flip-up iron sights for rapid target acqusition, consisting a rear apeture adjustable for windage and a front post adjustable for elevation. The night sight is a Tritium illuminated dot on the front post. A side-folding skeletonized polymer buttstock that folds to the right and can be equipped with a non-adjustable cheek piece completes the basic equipment.

P270A Diablo Combat Pistol

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c197/USCMC/nationstates/P27OA-M5-Diablo.png
(P270A-M5 Diablo shown with OD green frame and black oxide slide)

The P270A Diablo Combat Pistol is a short recoil operated, locked breech, semi-automatic magazine fed handgun chambered for either the 9x23mm Winchester cartridge (model: P270A-M4) or the 10x25 mm Auto cartridge (model: P270A-M5).

The design is based on a modified Browning-type linkless cam-locked breech action with inline feed. A dual recoil buffer spring is used to decrease felt recoil and increase overall service life. Other features of the P270A include double action-only (DOA) trigger, a slide stop and ambidextrous safety/decocker levers that disconnect the trigger and hammer for “locked and cocked” carry at Condition One. The trigger guard is oversized for use with gloves and has a recurved hook for the index finger.

Construction of the P270A Diablo consists a fibreglass-reinforced polyamide frame with anonidized aluminium insert and integral underbarrel accessory rail, a black oxide carbon steel slide and a chromed steel polygonal rifled barrel. Magazines are made from polymer plastics with stainless steel reinforcement. The overall shape of the P270A Diablo is smoothened and radiused to ensure no risk of snagging on draw. The front and rear sights are removable and mounted on dovetail grooves and include luminous dots for night shooting.

Standard equipment is a Emerson Optronics MK 1 Multifunction Illuminator attached to the underbarrel accessory rail. This is a powerful solid state Class IIIa visible light laser diode selectable between flashlight mode (95 lumens brightness, range 50 metres) and aiming spot mode (range 30 metres in daylight and 450 metres in low light). The weapon is also fully compatible with other commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) sights and accessories using the MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail system.

ooc: one problem with all of those weapons that WTi is offering..Not one of them says which type of round they use. 9mm what? Short?

ic:
Chadran Arms, and Allied Weapon Works, together offer the following list for your approval:

Vyper service pistol
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v604/Lafeel/sig_2022.jpg

Action:
After a lot of thought on the matter, it was decided upon double action only action (dao for short), with a manual safety catch added for extra security.

Round:
After considering the Parabellum round for a long time, doubts were raised about it's stopping power, so the more powerfull .357SIG round was chosen, instead, but the gun was able to, with a change of barrel, fire both of those, as well as the .40 S&W round.

Sights, and varios details:
A fully adjustable rear sight, and a fixed forward sight, were placed on the pistol, and a rail was placed in front of the trigger guard for such things as laser sights.
The most unusual feature was borrowed straight from the CZ100, it was a small protrusion on the slide, enabling one handed working of it.

Vyper service pistol
type: double action only
caliber: .357SIG (also available in .40S&W, or 9X19)
weight: 900g
length: 183mm
barrel length: 103mm
magazine capacity: 14 in .357 and .40, 18 in 9X19 versions
cost: 500$

Zhukov Smg

Design:
Yet again advanced composites was chosen for most of the gun's frame, with only the parts that needed to be made out of steel having been so constructed.

Operation:
A closed bolt, blowback operation was chosen, this having been shown to be usefull for most purposes.

Round:
.357SIG had been specified as a must, and, although this was unusual for a smg, this turned out to be possible, and was soon done. Of course using this larger round would affect the number of rounds in the magazine, but it was felt the extra stopping power was worth it.

Sights, rails, and other details:
Again a fixed forward sight, with a fully adjustable rear one, was used, with a rail for a small scope added between them, for extra long range accuracy.
Probably the single most recognizable feature was the fact that the new smg had both forward, and rear grips as standard, with the former being fastened to the latter by the trigger guard. (much like the Russian PP-2000)

Zhukov service smg
caliber: .357SIG
weight: 1,8kg
length, stock closed: 300mm, open: 507mm
barrel length: 183mm
rate of fire: 550rpm
magazine capacity: 35rounds

cost: 750$

and, last, but certainly not the least, our own standard rifle: the Wyvern

Chadran Arms Wyvern
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v604/Lafeel/wyvern1sight.jpg
(picture is by Crookfur)

Design:
It was decided to go back to the bullpup configuration with this design, as the folding stocks weren't really considered the best solution to shortening the rifle. Using this was placed a small empty space in the stock, which could be used for cleaning parts, as it could not hurt to keep those nearby.
To solve the ever present problem of cases flying into the user's face, the system from the FN-F200 was copied, ie to have the cases fall out well forward of the clip, and downwards, as well.

Construction:
Just like in the Mjölnir, titanium aluminium alloy was used for the internals, and over this was stretched the usual fiberglass reinforced polymer coating, covering virtually all metal, exept the forward most part of the barrel, to protect the user from heat buildup.
Maximum care was taken with designing the ergonomics, making the pistol grip, foregrip, and see through magazine, as comfortable as possible to the user.
The triggerguard was longer than normal, reaching the full length of the pistol grip, enabling heavy gloves to be worn without difficulty, this having been a added requirement.

Caliber:
A entirely new round was designed for this rifle, the caliber being 6.5mm, and the length 50mm, this having been, through extensive research, shown to be a extremely good choice for a intermediate round. (some might recognize the caliber, though..even if the round is entirely new)

Action:
A balanced action was picked. In short this basically involves two pistons, and two gas chambers, one piston acting as normally, while the other one counter balances it's movements, therefore greatly reducing the recoil felt by the user, in fact this would remove all but the effect of the bullet moving through the barrel from the recoil.

Rails, safeties, charging handle et all:
Originally it had been intended to combine a picatinny type rail, with a flip up forward sight, with the back up rear sight being mounted on top of the special sight (either a red dot, 4X scope, or a land warrior type sight), but this was the last change that the Ministry of Defense suggested.
Instead the mount for the optical sights was moved further forward, and behind it was placed a asterix type aperture sight, with a small rail on each side for protection against dust, the new sight being remeniscent of the ones on the AN-94, but with it's apertures clearly marked, and with luminous inserts to help with night fighting, even when using the back up sight.
No rail was placed under the barrel, but the Carbandian standard 30mm grenade launcher could be attached under it without much trouble.
The safety and shot selector were two seperate systems this time around, the safety being built into the pistol grip, so that the rifle could not be fired unless it was held by at least four fingers (not including thumb, but including trigger finger) while the shot selector, with it's usual three settings (single, full, 3rd bursts) being right above, and forward, of the pistol grip, in the style of the H&KG-36, the controls being on both sides of the weapon, to maximize the usefullness for left hand shooters.
The magazine release was located in front of the magazine reciever, between it and the pistol grip, easily reachable with either hand, yet not so close as to interfere with the user's grip.
The charging handle's location was on the left hand side, well forward, and high, this, yet again, being in a attempt to make the rifle usable with equal comfort by both left, and right, handed users.
The muzzle brake was somewhat unusual, looking almost like a figure eight when viewed from the side, this, somewhat unusual, configuration, having proved quite effective in testing.

CAR-04

Type: assault rifle (bullpup configured)
caliber: 6,5X50mm
operation: gas operated, balanced system
overall length: 714mm
barrel length: 420mm
weight: 3,3kg (empty)
magazine size: 35 rounds
r.o.f: 650rpm

LBP-2 Maritime Patrol Bomber

A picture of the Llama and variants: http://img358.imageshack.us/img358/9168/llamafamxo7.th.png (http://img358.imageshack.us/my.php?image=llamafamxo7.png)

Overview

AV-MF, the Imperial Navy’s land-based air arm, had relied since its inception upon the Soviet Tu-142, in various forms, for the performance of maritime patrol duties. This mighty aeroplane, however, had by the time of Marcus I truly had its day; the newest “Bears” in the AV-MF inventory were by then approaching their twentieth year of service, while the eldest had more than forty years’ service under their belts. The increasing cost incurred in keeping the Tu-142 airborne despite an ever-shortening supply of spare parts, plus the age of many of the airframes in the AV-MF’s possession, made finding a replacement for the Bear a matter of necessity that had been identified as far back as the final months of the National Democratic administration; however, the subsequent Liberal government cut back significantly on the programme laid out in the 2003 Navy White Paper, and the Bear replacement project was put in abeyance. Only with the resurgence being experienced under Emperor Marcus I was the programme dusted off and set in motion once again.

Design

The LBP-2 is unusual among modern combat aircraft; it is a large, subsonic machine entirely devoid of low-observability (“stealth”) design features. The aircraft’s structure is primarily constructed from aluminium alloy, though the outermost engine nacelles are made from tubular titanium alloy; the aircraft’s skin is of rolled aluminium alloy sheeting. The circular-section, pressurised fuselage is divided into three compartments (forward, containing the cockpit and front gun turret; centre, containing the weapons bay and auxiliary accommodation facilities; aft, containing the rear gun turret and access to the trailing wire spool), and is of 4.7m maximum diameter, with an upper dorsal spine 3.3m wide.

The landing gear is of the tricycle type, hydraulically-actuated and contained in a pair of ovoid nacelles protruding from the trailing edge of the wings and a single nosewheel well, beneath and aft of the cockpit and just forward of the main surface-search radar. The landing wheels are hydraulically braked. No brake chutes are provided. The wing and tail surfaces are all "wet" (i.e. using for the carriage of fuel).

Flight Controls

All flight control surfaces are mechanically actuated with hydraulic boost; three-segment area-increasing flaps are fitted to the trailing edge of each wing inboard of the ailerons; each aileron, elevator and rudder contains a single trim tab.

Avionics

Comms: Directional UHF radio with antenna in shallow fairing between nosewheel well and primary surface-search radar; VHF URC-14 radio set with antenna in upper port fin; UDT-6 128-bit encrypted directional datalink; LF trailing wire antenna.

Nav: GPS, INS and radio compass equipment.

Sensors: CNAR-16 “Hurricane” long-range multi-band (I-N band) surface-search radar in large radome beneath wings; secondary, rearward-facing antenna atop rear gun turret roof; URR-2 X-band radar in nose for use during in-flight refuelling in poor weather/visibility. CNAR-16 features frequency-hopping and automatic emergency shutdown (in event of ARM attack) capability, with peak output of 600kw; it is extremely unusual in being valve-based, chosen for reasons of EMP resistance and high power output.

Self-defence: APS-4 “Guardian” barrage/spot ECM/ECCM pods on each wingtip, in large blister beneath nose and in tail “hump”; ESM system sensors on upper and lower fuselage and wingtips; APS-1 omnidirectional IR detection system in dome aft of cockpit, receiving data from two electro-optical pods (TV, LLTV and IR) fore and aft, used for gun aiming.

Armament

Up to 32 tonnes of stores, including NHT-3 880mm x 13m heavy torpedo, depth charges, sonobuoys and mines, in 15m x 4m stores bay aft of main radome; four UAW-2 82mm recoilless rifles in fore and aft “blister” turrets, with traverse 12 degrees and elevation +6/-30 degrees, with electro-optical targeting.

Propulsion

The oil crisis in DPUO following the collapse of MOil, coupled to high world oil prices and the eternal concern of the government to preserve national fuel supplies, even in time of war, mandated that the most efficient engine possible should be installed, leading to the adoption of a unique sextuple “turbo-compound” powerplant carried in six large, wing-mounted nacelles.

The AK-36-10J “Camel” turbo-compound engine is among the most efficient and complex aero engines in service today. In this powerplant, a two-stroke turbocharged diesel engine provides the majority of the power output; the thirty-six cylinders of this section, displacing a total of 107,200 litres, are arrange in two block of eighteen cylinders, one on either side of the gas turbine system. These each drive their own crankshaft, the power output from which is taken through Teflon-coated reduction gearing to the driveshaft.

The “Camel” engine, as well as providing adequate power output for the LBP-2’s mission profile, also affords the aircraft with an unusually high degree of endurance owing to its extremely low specific fuel consumption.

Accommodation

The crew of the LBP-2 operate within three pressurised compartments, as mentioned above. The cockpit crew sit on upward-firing ejector seats; those in the lower cockpit have downward-firing seats, while the gunners rely on the access hatches at the rear root of their turrets for escape and sit in simple leather seats.

The middle fuselage, aft of the weapons bay, is usually used for the storage of rolled hammocks. Providing the aircraft does not undergo any violent manoeuvres, these can provide accommodation for six crewmen at a time.

LBR-2 “Argus” AWACS

Overview

The LBR-2 AWACS was designed to replace the elderly A-50UM system in AV-MF and Home Air Defence Command service.

Design

As for LBP-2, except with large dorsally-mounted radome containing ANAR-4 air-search radar.

Flight Controls As for LBP-2.

Avionics

Comms: As for LBP-2.

Nav: As for LBP-2.

Sensors: As for LBP-2, except CNAR-16 “Hurricane” radar system deleted; main radar set now ANAR-4 long-range frequency-agile electronically-steered air-search radar in large rotating dorsal radome; max. detection range against F-22 type fighter aircraft approx. 220km. Able to track 2,200 targets simultaneously and direct engagements against fifty.
Radar can be used as directed ECM system across its own bands. Radome rotates at 6 RPM when in operation and 1 RPM when idle to maintain lubricating oil flow to bearings.

Although considered crude, it is worth noting that the ANAR-4 system has very high resistance to jamming and near-immunity to EMP attack, and has proven to be a reliable system in service over British Londinium's waters.

Self-Defence: As for LBP-2 plus system detailed above.

Armament: Provision for up to four AAMs on wingtips in place of ECM pods (via dual rail adaptors). AAMs could if appropriately configured be vectored directly to their target by the launching aircraft.

Propulsion

As for LBP-2.

Accommodation

As for LBP-2, but front and rear gun turrets deleted; Radar Systems Operators (14) sit seven to each side of the fuselage in tandem seats; exit effected in case of emergency by conveyor belt in floor which runs to hatch in belly approximately in far aft of former weapons bay.

*****

OOC N.B.: This is substantially lighter, as one can imagine, than the basic LBP-2 in its normal configuration. Its MTOW remains the same, but with its normal complement and the addition of all that radar kit (an extra 12.6 tonnes of mass) it’s still well within the LBP-2’s MTOW. It’s thus generally faster and has pretty snazzy endurance.

A few other things relating mainly to the engines and radar: The driveshaft from the gas turbine drives directly into the gearbox, which then divides the combined diesel and GT output between the two airscrews. One of the more unusual features of this configuration is that, at high altitudes, the volume of air admitted to the cylinders in the diesel engine becomes inadequate to ensure normal combustion of the injected fuel; in consequence a much larger quantity of fuel and oil are passed into the gas turbine, which then tends to develop excessive power. This balances the loss of power in the diesel engine, but also sometimes results in large and unwelcome jets of flame from the engine exhaust. This is, unsurprisingly, referred to in the marketing literature for the Camel engine as a “temporary high-altitude acceleration mechanism.”

The debit side to this highly capable power unit is its exceptional complexity; being essentially two engines in one, the Camel is notoriously difficult to maintain and complete failure of one or two engines in flight is by no means uncommon. This tendency (as well as the complexity of the main radar) has earned for the LBP-2 the soubriquet of “The Flying Garage” - so-called because its operators spend most of their time inside making one or another system work.

The high range, jamming-resistance and EMP resistance of the Hurricane radar are, however, counterbalanced by certain other aspects of its design: it is extraordinarily bulky and heavy, contributing a little more than a tonne to the aircraft’s overall weight and taking up the greater part of the forward fuselage between the wingroot leading edge and the cockpit; it becomes notoriously hot when operating for long periods, resulting frequently in burns to unwary crew members and occasional fires in flight; and its immense complexity means that, although faults are not common, detecting and resolving them and the problems they cause is extremely challenging.

Those are all fun RP features, as you can imagine. But anyway, IC spiel and OOC realities for ye.

Normally we do not bother to ask our customers how quickly they want their tanks delivered, as the response would usually be something along the lines of ASAP and we also assume they are prepared to pay. Of course, we also only usually assign a single factory to the work, so the production cycle takes a few months. However, ALS owns fifteen M-3 factories, each capable of outputting 1,000 tanks a week; even with seeing to the Imperial Army's attrition reserve we could quite literally have this order completed in less than a week and on its way in two. This is assuming that your nation can afford, and is prepared, to pay $132 billion in two weeks.

The Kingdom of SaintB has developed and uses the Ares Family of Assault Rifles, the most recent being the Ares III and Ares Elite Carbine. The Ares III is a light weight and reliable assault rifle able to fire in even underwater conditions. The Ares Elite Carbine was designed with Spec Ops. forces in mind and is standard with internal suppressor and 3x zoom scope. Ares Rifles use NATO 5.56 rounds and fire at high velocity and have a better than average cyclic rate and ammo capacity.

We also have side arms, shotguns, and LMG's we'd be willing to sell if you are interested. If you would like statistics on these weapons please let us know.

HailandKill: Yes.

Scandavian States: Yes. Submarines are probably the naval vessels I am least comfortable RPing with, as I'm not very knowledgeable about them. I'll probably be replacing the aging Spirit Class with something a little more modern and high powered.

Delkor: Thanks, but except for subs and naval aircraft, I'm not looking to update my navy very much.

PsyDefense would like to show you its products:

THE XACR CARBINE

The XACR Carbine was developed by PsyDefense as an improvement of the old and obsolete M4/M16-type carbines and rifles.By replacing the M16 rotating bolt, actuated by direct impingement gas operation by a gas piston system developed by PsyDefense the XACR does not introduce propellant gases or carbon fouling back into the weapon’s internal, making it the most reliable of any M4/M16 type weapon.

The origins of the XACR began with the realization of the deficiencies of the direct gas impingement (gas tube) operating system found on conventional M4/M16-style weapons. Input from the users of current M4/M16-type arms, high-speed video assessment, and extensive live-fire testing in extreme operational environments such as the deserts and revealed multiple areas for improvement.Improvements were made to the internal operating system and miscellaneous component parts to improve reliability in best and worse case scenarios, with all types of ammunition, with all barrel lengths and with and without sound suppressors attached.

An innovative free-floating 4-quadrant rail system allows all current accessories, sights, lights, and aimers used on M4/M16-type weapons to be fitted to the XCAR. The rail system can be installed and removed without tools.

The PsyDefense proprietary gas system uses a piston driving an operating rod to control the function of the bolt, preventing propellant gases and the associated carbon fouling from entering the weapon’s internal parts. This increases the reliability of the weapon and extends the interval between stoppages. It also reduces operator cleaning time, heat transfer to the bolt and bolt carrier, and wear and tear on critical components.

To improve reliability, service life, and operator safety during obstructed bore occurrences or after extreme extended firing sessions, the XACR uses barrels produced by cold hammer forging process.

The highest quality steel is used in this unique manufacturing process producing a barrel that provides superior accuracy for greater than 20,000 rounds with minimal degradation of accuracy and muzzle velocity.XACR variants are available with 10.4, 14.5, 16.5, and 20 inch (264, 368, 419, 508 mm) barrels. All XACR variants also have "OTB" (Over-the-beach) capability and can be safely fired after being submerged in water and not completely drained.

In addition to the improvements in the baseline weapon,PsyDefense has produced a corrosion resistant "High-Reliability" Maritime magazines and a proprietary buffer to improve functional reliability.
An add-on single shot 40 mm x 46 or 30mm Grenade Launcher Module can be quickly attached to the rail system of all models without tools.
PsyDefense has applied its proven and fielded Safe Blank Fire Attachment and Live Round Excluding Magazine technology to the XACR, eliminating the possibility of live rounds being loaded into and fired through a standard issue weapon outfitted for blank firing only.

The XACR is available as complete carbine or rifle or as a "drop-in" XACR upper receiver module for use on the lower receivers of existing M4/M16 type weapons.
