Republican National News Network

"Citizens of Thacea...we are at a crossroads. Through our actions this republic will rise or fall. Last month my predecessor left the office where I now sit; and in my hands he left failed policy and a nearly bankrupt nation. Before he left he asked me to clean up the conflagration he had made; I intend to fufill his wish. Through a series of strict economic and social policies I will pull this nation from the brink of chaos! Be forewarned, failure to comply with any of these new policies will result in a swift and crippling punishment! This government will not tolerate sedition; anyone suspected of antigovernment preferances will be jailed, along with those aiding them. No exceptions will be made! This is how it will be; our international face may be damaged by our increacing isolationism. But this can be easily repaired; if we fail to act our nation will not be fixed so easily. No Thacean citizen is permitted to leave Thacean territory as of this moment. All international flights into and outbound are officially grounded. Foriegn nationals are to be escorted out of the country and our borders sealed. National tarrifs will be raised; and you as Thacean citizens can expect higher taxes. But know this, no matter how extreme the measures get, no matter how unreasonable you believe them to be, they are far from permenant. This great republic will survive at all costs. The suffering of the masses will aid in the continuity of this country. I say again: failure to comply with any and all measures will be dealt with swiftly. Sedition will not be tolerated!"

President Palpovich waited for the signal that they were off the air. The blinding fury that had been building up in him had been let out with his speech. His predecessor, President Morgannvik had failed to fix the country's problems, he would not fail. Palpovich leaned over and retrieved a pitcher of water and a small glass. After filling the glass about half, he pulled out a small white capsule and dropped it in his glass. It quickly dessolved and turned the water a light blue color. He downed it quickly.

"Mr. President?" a tall man in a black suit walked to the desk and handed Palpovich a thin grey folder; labeled N.I.B. The President grabbed it an leaned back in his chair. He scanned the first page in amazement. He turned and looked at the man standing before him.

"Mr. Sergetov it appears as if I have become unpopular in an unprecedented amount of time. Look at this," he pulled a sheet out of the folder and handed it to Sergetov, "I have just finished my address less than seven minutes ago and already the National Intelligence Bureau is reporting nearly 17000 posts pertaining to the speech. On both commercial and private sites. More than 78% percent in a negetive pretext." Sergetov handed the sheet back to the President.

"Well Mr. President, you weren't honestly expecting this to meet without opposition?"

"No, I suppose I wasn't, but seeing the data with my own eyes is staggering. Have I made a mistake in the first month of my term?" Palpovich queried.

"In truth sir. I don't think so. Like you said, none of these measures are permenant. Temporary suffering is more durable than permanent distress."

Palpovich looked dubious, "No matter. It is my decision and that of the Senate that matters. The populous have no choice. They will obey," Palpovich poured himself another glass of water and took a sip, "it is the international reaction that has me worried. I may have said that we will accept no foreign aide, but I don't think this will be possible."

"Don't worry sir, it will be. With the support and obediance of our people anything is possible."

Edward Yurgovich typed frantically. He had been in a continuing debate about the legality of the Presidents proposed measures. He felt the President was grossly overstepping his authority.

[TheYuri...//458o912~~]--'All I'm sayin' is that he cannot stop us from leaving the country. The Nationals Protection Act clearly says that the government cannot seal its citizens within a countries borders without just cause. He has not provided just cause in my opinion. He is treating us like criminals!'

[WezbethPost...//o7p67~~]--It is the will of the Senate, the President could not have done this without the approval of the House of Directors, we have not heard any public statements about this current course of action so he must obviously have approval.

[Uglyduck17...//1447UINp3~~]--Yuri has a point, even with the approval of the House of Directors, this does not give the President any legal right to seal the Thacean borders. The H.O.D. is blatently biased as the members of the board are appointed by the Presidents own supporting party. The Senate must go through the Lower Congresses and the Internal Affairs Board before anything of this magnitude can be enacted. If he fails to do this; he needs to be removed from office!

[WezbethPost...//o7p67~~]-- {{Quote:Uglyduck17 - SNIP - Quote}} Bullshit! The H.O.D. is not biased. If you would study political law you would see that even though the members of the H.O.D. are appointed by the Presidents supporting party, the applicants are voted on by the people. So if the H.O.D. supports this move by the President then the people must as well! The Lower Congresses does not retain the power to overturn an act emposed by the Senate. This would fragment our governments power base. And you Uglyduck are sounding like a Seditionist! You must know that this is punishable by law!

[TheYuri...//458o912~~]--Seditionist? What is this, it is the President again trying to impede on our rights as citizens of the Thacean Democracy! He cannot jail us for speaking our minds. We are protected by the 11th Constitution. Or does our dear President intend to rip it up and jail anyone who even looks at him funny!?!

[WezbethPost...//o7p67~~]-- {{Quote:TheYuri - SNIP - Quote}}
The right to Sedition is not protected under the 11th Constitution. The right to rebel against the rule of law is not protected under the 11th constitution. You will be jailed 'TheYuri' if you continue to denounce our President in this way!

[Uglyduck17...//1447UINp3~~]-- {{Quote:WezbethPost - You will be jailed 'TheYuri' if you continue to denounce our President in this way! - Quote}}
He cannot do that, I say again, HE CANNOT DO THAT! It is against the law. Jailing someone because the Presidents feelings get hurt is illegal!

[REDRUM20...//200IoNR~~]-- I have to agree with Uglyduck and TheYuri on this one. The President is obviously breaking the law. He cannot use the Senate to circumvent the 11th Constitution. He just can't. I believe we can expect the President to either repeal his statement or resign with in the next week!

[TheYuri...//458o912~~]-- My thanks to REDRUM20, I think most people agree. The Presidents acts are illegal. He will either resign or be assassinated! Hahaha. that would be a sight wouldn't it!

Major Hanson reached over and and picked up his phone. A female voice answered.

"Yes?"

"This is Major Hanson, ID 093a1, N.I.B. Section 10 Internal Securtiy. Patch me through to the Security Director please."

"Yes." Major Hanson waited patiently for about ten seconds, "Security Director: Neil Vetrik"

"Mr. Director? We have a problem." a mans curt voice answered swiftly.

"What's the problem?"

"We had a computer flagged at Ishtar University near the Capital, recommend Martial Action 19007."

"Execute!"

"Yes, sir."

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Edward Yurgovich logged off his computer and leaned back in his desk chair. He stretched for a bit then decided to catch some shuteye....

He had been asleep in his tiny dorm bed for maybe and honor when he was jerked awake by the sound of his door ripping in half. Immediatly six men in black armored vests rushed in and and grabbed him.

"What the fuck!" he screamed.

The man nearest punched him in the face; knocking a tooth loose and Edward unconcious.

"Shut up..." the man said.

Edward was the first of many to be locked away for sedition. And for threats to the government.

"Good Morning this is Tracy Edvik reporting. Yesterday at around 5:30 in the afternoon several students of Ishtar University were arrested for acts of sedition and threats to the government of Thacea. The students names will not be released until the family has been notified. No trial date has been scheduled, though it appears that the students will not be released. The national reaction to the current swath of arrests around the country is divided though it appears the greater part of the country support the presidents move to suppress antigovernment sentiments in the pursuit of security. The international reaction to the presidents stirring speech two days ago has yet to acertained but the presidental party is feeling hopeful. I will report as more information comes in. This is Tracy Edvik."

"In 3, 2, 1. We're off air. Good job today Tracy."

Tracy did not look the least bit pleased, " Urgh, 'most of the county appears to support the president'. Who typed that load of bull. Nearly 900 people have been arrested on trumped up charges of sedition," she walked to a small refridgerator and pulled out a bottle of water, "they are arresting students now! This is crazy. If the President doesn't stop this, we are looking at riots in the cities of Thacea. Things may not be great now. But I think we haven't even scratched the tip of the iceburg yet..."

"I don't think so Tracy. I mean even though they are young. Age is no excuse for breaking the law. They threatened the President.'

"No they didn't, they expressed their opinions which they have every right to do. The president is the one breaking the law, trying to use his lapdogs in the Senate and in the House of Directors to ignore the 11th Constitution. It is udder shit."

"You had better watch it Tracy; or you will be in jail too!" Tracy grinned at this.

"No Matthew, I won't ever see the inside of a cell. My father is Deputy Director of the Army, Navy and Air Forces. The most I will see is the dark side of house arrest."

OOC: That sounds cool. That would be grounds for and International Incident. Your nations government should issues some sort of statement.

OOC: Ok, I will start, and my nation's government will issue a statement, depending on what happens.

Charles Morris was the Rhodesian African ambassador to Thacea. He lived in the embassy with his family and had been watching the news closely, seeing how the President had been conducting some changes. Charles decided to alert his family and prepare for the worst, since there were rumors that foreigners were to be escorted out of Thacea, but it was not known if they would be mistreated (OOC: Perhaps we can try this).

Charles Morris sat in his desk, reading some reports, a bit wary about the possibility that Thacean soldiers could come in and arrest him and his family. He hoped that would not occur, hoping that they would come with no intention of arresting him or his family and simply tell him about how he had to leave.

Charles left his office and went to find his wife, Juliet and daughter Elizabeth. He assured them that everything would be ok, hopefully it would be. He ordered the embassy security soldiers to prepare for a possible meeting with the Thaceans.

Sirens tore the silent day air on the streets. Several black SUVs raced down the road. In front, a few miles ahead was a black limo. Its passengers were believed to be illegal foreign nationals. The lead SUV slid in front of the limo, the limo barely had time to stop. The other SUVs stopped around the limo. Twenty armed guards hurried out of the SUVs and surrounded the limo.

"Mr. Ambassador, this is the Thacean National Police, you and your family are under arrest according to the Deportation of Foreign Nationals Act. You and your family are on Thacean soil illegally. You are to be escorted out of the country after your sentence is carried out."

The TNP pulled the doors open and wretched out the Ambassador and his family, slammed handcuffs on them and loaded them into the back of the two SUVs. The commander of the squad opened the driver side door and pulled out the man driving the vehicle. After it was determined the man was Thacean; he was shot for aiding and abetting a foreign national. And for threats against the government. The body was pulled into a black bag and loaded into another SUV. A TNP officer commendiered the limo and the vehicles sped off.

"I sure hope the security forces don't have orders to... I have to Leave at once. He threw in some of his clothes into a battered-looking suitcase, dressed in a sweatshirt and track pants and prepared to leave. Just before leaving the room, He doubled back and grabbed a sharp knife from the attached Kitchenette. This could come in handy,He thought as he tucked it in a pocket and sped out of the hotel.

Charles Morris and his family did not struggle, as Charles advised them not to do so. As they were pushed into the back of the two SUV's, they were shocked to see the Thacean man shot before them, down and out he went. Charles looked for a bit and then sat with his family in the back of the SUV's (unless they are separated?).

Charles Morris hoped his family would not be harmed, he did not want his wife or daughter to be harmed at all. His daughter and wife seemed to keep themselves calm, but perhaps inside they were a bit fearful.

Finally, after some time, the cars seemed to stop. Charles Morris contemplated what could happen to them at this moment, and hoped that nothing bad would happen to him or his family.

Max Terry was stopped just outside of the hotel he was staying in. The TNP had recieved a tip that a IFN (Illegal Foreign National) was staying at the location.

"Max Terry?"

"Yes?"

"I am Officer Klerzy with the TNP you are under arrest, by the law of the Deportation of Foreign Nationals Act. You will be escorted out of the country as soon as you mandatory sentence of 12 monthes in a Thacean Prison is carried out. Search him!"

Several TNP officers stepped forward and quickly frisked the man. They came up with clothes and a small knife. Officer Klerzy looked pleased by the result.

"Mr. Max Terry, you are formally charged with possesion with intent of a deadly weapon. Bag him."

A guard took a small club and bashed Mr. Terry in the back of his head, the man was knocked unconcious; he was cuffed and loaded in the back of a black van. The van promptly sped off.

The Rhodesian African Ambassador and his family were unloaded from the SUVs. He was escorted to a small chamber where he had a private trial and was sentenced to 12 monthes in a Thacean prison. His wife and daughter were strip searched and thrown in the cells next to the Ambassador. None of them talked as they watched more prisoners pulled from their cells for making noise and were brutally beaten. The Ambassador was kept under strict supervison. After about nine hours, food (a small piece of bread, two pieces of cold turkey and a bowl of rice) were brought in with a plastic container of water.

"Mr. President. I have the daily report on the arrests."

"Good, good bring it in Sergetov."

Sergetov handed the President a small sheet of paper labeled, N.I.B. report, with secret stamped across it.

It said that so far 1600+ men, women and children had been arrested. Palpovich reached into his desk and retrieved the Census Bureau Report.

"Sergetov, we have arrested at 1600 plus individuals, fifty percent of which are suspected illegal foreign nationals. The CBR, says that there are upwards to around 5,690 foreign nationals in this country," Palpovich was getting angry, "find them Goddamit and get them the fuck out of my country!"

"Yes, sir." Sergetov said. He turned and walked out of the office.

Charles watched as his wife and daughter (who was only fourteen) being strip searched and then thrown into their respective cells, instead of them both sharing one. They all watched the other prisoners being brutally beaten.

Charles Morris even said "Thank you" to the guards who brought him food. He knew that they would be in prison for twelve months, and he hoped that they could endure what may happen. However, in some time the news of the detaining of the ambassador and his family would reach Rhodesian Africa but that would be later.

As Charles ate the food, he contemplated what could happen to them. Would they be beaten like the other prisoners? Thoughts ran through his mind as he thought about it.

"Mr. Ambassador Charles. Come with me if you please." the soldier in a tightly pressed uniform said as the cell doors were opened.

"Where are we going?" Charles asked. The soldier didn't answer, instead he punched the Ambassador in the stomach.

"Shut you fucking face, you speak when I tell you speak, say another word and next time it will your wife and daughter that pay the consequence. Filthy foreigner.

The two walked briskly through the dark halls. Finally the soldier stopped and cuffed the Ambassadors hands behind his back.

"Your wife and daughter are being escorted to Womens Prison Camp XPY778 where they will spend six monthes and then will be deported. You are going to FNP19 National Prison. There you will spend the next year, after which you set in a scheduled trial where it will be acertained the reason of your being here. Charles Morris nodded to the soldier and got into the small van. As he sat, he thought about Juliet and Elizabeth, hopefully they would be ok. He hoped they would be safe, but thoughts swirled in his head, including ones that he heavily disliked.

He then thought about what would happen to him. Though he knew that in six months his family would be deported back to Rhodesian Africa, he would be spending a year or more in Thacea.

"Good evening this is Tracy Edvik reporting. It has come to the attention of the RNNN that the Thacean National Police (TNP) have arrested nearly 2000 people for various charges. But all this pales in comparison to the arrest of the Rhodesian African Ambassador and his family. General Talmocov said the arrest was perfectly legal but the response of the Rhodesian African government is still unknown. We will report when more information makes itself available. This is Tracy Edvik reporting for the Republican National News Network."

When the news arrived in Rhodesian Africa, there was a news conference held by Prime Minister Verwoerd. He decided to declare the government's view about the arrest of the ambassador and his family.

---------------------
"We have just heard that Charles Morris, ambassador to Thacea and his family have been detained in Thacea and that Mr. Morris has been sentenced to a year in a Thacean prison. Prime Minister, what is the government's stance on this?"

Prime Minister Verwoerd thought for a bit and then replied:

"The Rhodesian African Government asks for the safe return of Mr. Morris and his family back home. We are against the Thecean government's actions, by which I mean their treatment of diplomats. We hope that this issue can be resolved and we will do what we can to help the ambassador and his family."

All over the nation, people were hearing about the story of the Morris family in Thacea. Many hoped they would be ok, and some were a bit skeptical that they would not be mistreated.

Prime Minister Verwoerd would hold a secret meeting with his government, in which they would discuss possible plans for dealing with this issue.

------------------
Meanwhile,

Stuck in a cell, Charles Morris contemplated the events that occured. He hoped his family was ok, thoughts swirled all around his mind. He looked around, seeing the other prisoners in the nearby cells.

Charles Morris was still an ambassador, but instead of working in an embassy, was stuck in a jail cell.

The Emperor was in the middle of gardening when the news came to him unexpectedly. Rebels were common around the world in this era, and while he should have expected some news coming every once in a while, there were few that prompted any response at all. He read the details of the report as he told the messenger to fetch the Cabinet for an "emergency" session.

They were all there in about 16 minutes. The Duke of Sacheon was visibly discouraged, given his inclinations about the last Imperial intervention. In the meantime, everyone was given information about the report:

"The government in Thacea has begun to turn inward, and with it the extreme fear of outsiders. There are rumors that foreign emissaries have been imprisoned, and our intelligence services have confirmed that the embassies in Thacea have been stormed in xenophobic rage. It is very well possible that one of our agents have been caught in the cross-fire. In any case, a country turning inward is bad for karma. We have surveyed others turning inward and they were not all as violent as this is supposedly."

The Duke of Sacheon waited for the Emperor to stop speaking before offering his opinion: "We mustn't judge the government so hastily. I suggest that we open to them dialogue to confirm their domestic condition. The nature of their reply will tell us if they are turning inward, and the extent and manner of their actions."

The Emperor heard the opinions and although he was wary to heed his advice, it seemed to be the sound consent of the Imperial Cabinet to talk to the Thacean (?) President.

HIS IMPERIAL MAJESTY

The Emperor Gwangmu of Han wishes to acknowledge your government, but seeks to reconcile rumors of turning inward in the face of receiving a new leader. We have acquired reasonable intelligence that suggests the nature of your actions is oppressive and presents to us a potential nuisance in the international polity. We wish to confirm that your government first harbors no ill-will toward other states, and second harbors no ill-will toward its citizenry, especially among those considered dissidents.

We have no qualms of turning inward, but we must sincerely express our vehement dislike of sharing bad karma with foreign neighbors. Please reply promptly.

"Tell them to keep the Ambassador under close supervision. And send word to the Rhodesian African government that their Ambassador broke the law and he will punished. I don't give a damn about diplomatic immunity. According to Thacean law, he wasn't even supposed to be here."

"Yes, sir." Sergetov said.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Max Terry was roughly pulled from the van, still semi-unconcious. He was searched, and thrown into a cell where he would spend the next 11 days.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Ambassador had seven more guards assigned to him. He was fed only twice aday, but the food was more than enough. He was kept up to date about the well being of his family. But the roughness of the guards could not be ignored. Anytime the ambassador tried to speak he was brutally beaten. He could look forward to much more of this. The Thacean President would not budge. The Ambassador broke the law, he would be punished.

OOC: May I ask what is the well being of his family? Also, I am going to post R.A's response to the Thacean President's words.

The Rhodesian African Government today declared a response to the Thecean President's words:

"The ambassador had been in your nation before you came to power, thus he did not break any laws that were established, as the previous administration did not mind his actions nor him being in Thecea. The ambassador should be returned to Rhodesian Africa, along with his family, for they are citizens of Rhodesian Africa. Also, we do not accept your viewpoint that the ambassador broke your nation's laws, due to what we had said earlier."

----------------------
Charles Morris listened to whatever they said about his family. He did endure the brutal beatings, something that was amazing to the guards, who were probably used to prisoners not enduring such things. Charles knew he would be here for some time, he had to make sure he endured. He had to make sure he did.

"President Palpovich, we have recieve a Telegram Class A9 from the Imperial Government of Daehanjeiguk. The petite secretary handed the President the letter and scurried out of the offfice.

Palpovich read the letter quickly and attempted to decide how best to respond. He pulled up his computer and keyed a quick response, pleased with it. He punched enter and pushed the computer to the side.

TO: His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Gwangmu
FROM: Thacean President, Jeremiah Palpovich

I must offer my assurences that every arrest made is legal and made for a purpose. My predecessor left a mess of country for me to run and I am intent on fixing it. I do not want my country to rely on foreign aide and be left vulnerable to foriegn aggression. I issued an order in my Presidental Address that all foreign nationals, diplomat or commoner, were to leave Thacean soil at once. Unfortunatly many did not heed the order, and are paying the price. It is the Thacean way that if you break the law you suffer the consequences. Diplomatic Immunity is a moot point in that the presence of a foreign national is strictly illegal. Our increasing isolationism is a way for us to quickly remedy or social, political and economic delimas. We will not tolerate foreign interference in the punishment of those who break Thacean Law! Be they foreign or domestic.

Charles was daily told of his families condition. His wife was being put to manual labor, (whoring the guards sometimes joked) and his daughter was a nurses assistant in the medical wing of the prison. All and all they were fine. He however was a different story, the Thacean Government viewed him as responsible for the actions of his family, therefore he would suffer the most. One of the guards pushed a plate of food under the cells barred door. The usual, bread, ham, bowl of corn and a container of warm water. Charles hated it.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Thacean Administration issued this statement to the Rhodesian African Government.

"The R.A. Ambassador is subject to the laws of the of which he inhabits, now matter the time of their implication. Failure to abide by these laws will result in a neccesary punishment. He will serve his sentence and be barred from ever entering the country again. Should he fail to heed this demand, he will be shot on sight."

OOC: Before the R.A government replies, the T.A are saying that if he enters Thecea again, he will be shot?

Charles was glad his family was ok, but he disliked the jokes the guards made, comparing his wife to a prostitute. However, how could he be blamed for his family's actions? His wife and fourteen year old daughter did nothing wrong, they simply lived with their husband/father.

Charles accepted the food, at least they gave him something to eat, but he hoped that soon he could be released from this prison and be allowed to go home to Rhodesian Africa, along with his family.

As such Charles was moved in with his family where he remained under house arrest.

And to Charles' and his family's delight. The food became substantially better too. Most other prisoner were not so lucky.

The reply came quickly - and though the Emperor was not in the mood to receive the message, he took it readily, expecting some indication of remorse. Instead, he found a stern reply with every intention to justify harshness.

"'The enemy renders many punishments; he is desperate.' He respects neither his people nor others; he calls intervention foreign, and seeks to be strong with his words, but these very words corrupt himself."

He turned to the phone, letting the emissary take his leave. He called up Count Yu Seongryong - "We need covert intervention to ensure that the government in Thacea is held in balance with itself. Otherwise, if it turns too far inward, it will carry its neighbors with it, a vacuum torrent. We must do what we can to ensure that this part of the world does not dissipate into disarray."

The Count nodded. "I will insert special agents to conduct espionage and incite the people to revolt."

"No." The Emperor did not want to incite heat. "When hot, oil burns. We do not spark the situation into war. But we must make certain that the government does not bear weight upon its people. If the father beats his son, his son will beat his own son. First, verify that the situation in Thacea is stable, and second that the people are content. If not, we will consider other options. And do not insert more spies - we do not need to feed their prisons with our citizens; use what we already have, if any are left."

"I have been monitoring the situation carefully. I have received indication that Kim Weon and Jang Ilsuk are both out of service. I have left An Gildong and Bae Jeomsu in the country still, while the others have left. Shall we call them?"

"Yes."

Charles was glad to be reunited with his family and vice versa, even if they were still being detained. They were also happy that the food they were served became better.

Charles and his family stayed in the room together, trying to endure life as prisoners in Thecea. They were doing a good job enduring life as prisoners, but perhaps they were hiding that bit of worry that one or more of them possibly had.

The Rhodesian African Government, meanwhile, was preparing for further action concerning the Morris family, they were busy discussing possible plans. As for the Morris family, they did not know what else would happen to them.

President Palpovich was briefly informed that at leat thirty-five high priority prisoners were under lock and key. Sergetov urged the President to make a statement. After several hours of this relentless urging; the President gave in.

The Thacean Government has in its custody thirty-five prisoners of your nationality, they have been charged with more than merely being foriegn nationals, but with being foreign agents in this country. They will be tried in two weeks and promptly executed. Unless of course your provide reasons for thier release.

The guards were relentless on the two agents caught nosing around the Foriegn Nationals Prison Block, they interegated them in the most ruthless fashion. So much so, that one was bloodied and slumped against the wall.

"Why the fuck were you in the FNPB, were you attempting to release foreign nationals! Answer me!" the guard took the mans head and slammed it against the table. Blood used from the mans nose.

The other guard standing in the corner decided to speak. "You had better answer him, either way your friend will not survive," the guard pulled out a 9mm semi automatic and shot the unconcious agent in the face.

I am afraid the release of Max Terry is impossible at this juncture. He is in prison now for attempted murder awaiting trial.

Message From The Imperial Republic Of HailandKill's State And Foreign Affairs Department

To: President Palpovich
From: The Killian Department of State and Foreign Affairs
Subject: Imprisonment of Killian Civilians

The unlawful imprisonment of not only citizens, but civilians, of The Imperial Republic of HailandKill will not be tolerated under any condition. The Imperial Republic of HailandKill demands that Thacea releases these Killian civilians immediately or face certain further action. These demands are presented because I am absolutely positive that the citizens you have imprisoned were no more than vacationing tourists. Whatever wrongdoing they have done was no more than being in the wrong place at the wrong time. The demand for immediate release of these citizens will not enforced until after the trial because if your nation has a just legal system, these men and women will be proven of their innocence, and absolved of all guilt. The Imperial Republic will be in touch with your government up to, and post trial pending the decision of Thacean courts. Just because we are not enforcing immediate release yet does not mean we will not take serious action.

[Signed]Allen Johnson

---

Killian War Department, Killia

Allen Johnson was not pleased with the news he had received from the Thacean government. Thirty five Killian civilians were now being wrongfully imprisoned for crimes they did not commit and normally, an act like this against The Imperial Republic would warrant a declaration of war. However with The Imperial Republic finishing up the War of Golden Succession, manpower for another war could not be spared. Added on top of that, the fact that the citizens were going to get a fair trial meant that the Killian government could not do anything pre-trial unless it wanted to risk looking like an international pariah. Despite the fact a conventional war could not be waged, it did not leave him with out the option of “unconventional” warfare. With this option in mind, Johnson was headed to the National Security Advisor’s office to discuss the option of rescuing the prisoners with Killian Special Forces.

Allen Johnson walked into the NSA’s office at 13:23 Killian Standard Time with a sour look upon his face. The NSA immediately saw his counterpart’s business-like approach and braced himself for the worst.

“John, I bad news, Thacea has taken thirty five Killian civilians and imprisoned them. They are being held on counts of espionage. You, as well as I, know we cannot go for a full on war in this situation.”

“Has The President been notified of this?”

“Not yet. However, I have come to you to see if we can settle this without a conventional war or any alarming of The President.”

“Special Forces rescue, you mean? I dunno, sounds very risky.”

“We have no choice. We can’t fight another war, and pre-trial attack does not make us look very good. We have to free them under the table.”

“Hmm. You may be right, you may be wrong. Either way I don’t want the blood of innocents on my hands, or yours. I will get a team on immediate standby. After that, I will get back to you. It’s the best I can do for now.”

Charles thought about his family as he sat in the limosine and later in the private aircraft. He hoped they would be ok, but he also thought about what the government of Rhodesian Africa would think about the letter (what is in the letter?) that he was to give to them.

-----------------
Juliet and Elizabeth were still in their room, they were still prisoners. Juliet thought about her husband while Elizabeth was eating some of her food, she too was thinking about her father.

Juliet looked at her daughter, knowing what Charles had said, that he would try to secure a good childhood for her. Later, Juliet and Elizabeth were eating together, trying to endure the hardships they were now facing together.

Charles thought about his family as the plane flew to Johannesburg, the capital of Rhodesian Africa. As the plane flew, Charles thanked the men for the drink and drunk some of it. He then continued thinking about his family, hoping they were ok.

He looked at the letter he was to give to the government. How would the government take to the letter? Would they accept it or would they refuse it, the answer was unknown. Charles wondered about what they would say about the letter.

The aircraft soon landed in a Johannesburg airport, where Rhodesian African soldiers were waiting. Would they try to capture the Thacean soldiers and detain them or would they let them be?

The lives of his family and the course of action of two independent nations now depended on him following orders.

OOC: I will have the government decide soon. Can you give me some information on the letter again? Thanks.

The vehicle drove Charles straight to the government's headquarters, where Charles Morris delivered his letter to the government before going to his home in Johannesburg. He was told that he would be notified of the decision of the government of Rhodesian Africa. A meeting would be held, and after the meeting was finished, Charles would be told of what the government decided to do.

"All right Soldiers! We've received orders from high command! We are to covertly enter Thacea and spring as many foreign prisioners as we can! Our main target is Max Terry. Intelligence shows that all of the prisioners are being held in a single structure. Here are your schematics" The Specops leader handed out PDAs with mission briefings and schematics to each of his men. The Specops Commandos were the cream of the Oily Prata Defence Forces. Trained from children and given extensive Combat Training, these soldiers were faster, stronger and smarter than anyone alive. This came at a cost. Only 20 of the 300 selected completed the course." We will execute a hard drop from space at 0100 tomorrow into the base. Then you will free the prisioners and hold of all attackers until the Sorbjets come to pick you up.Now for your equipment."
The specops wore a skintight unmarked black body+head suit that regulated temperature, supplied painkillers in the case of wounds, and could stop several small caliber rounds. They were issued with unmarked titanium combat knoves , pistols and a Assault rifle. Some specops had special equipment like ECM and grenade launchers.

At 2000 hours,The Specops headed off to their staging base. An orbiting space platform The Onyx. From there, they strapped themselves into their reentry pods. The idea was to make it into atmosphere before ejecting and stealth parachuting down. the pods would then quietly blow up.

0100 approached and the Specops got ready to launch.

OOC: Sorry For the bad spelling. It's kinda hard to spell at Three in the Morning With No coffee. I plan to make the rescue last several posts.Thacea could you tell me how the complex is like, defences etc? Also, If you think this is to Godmodeish, I could change it.

OOC: I guess for the next couple posts you take center stage, my next post relies on your governments actions.

OOC: I see. In that case, here is my government's next action, in the form of a news article. Basically, the Rhodesian African government is focusing its efforts on R.A citizens in your nation.

"In response to the letter written by the Thacean government to the government of Rhodesian Africa, our nation's government has decided that it will not meddle in the issue of Thacean leaders punishing its own citizens but will not stand for the mistreatment of Rhodesian African citizens and that it will pressure Thacea to release the Rhodesian African citizens still detained in prisons."

OOC: For Oily Prata, the Prison is modeled after Alcatraz, about 60 to 70 highly trained guards with M4 Carbines, and Armed Patrol boats search the area every 26 minutes.

The President of Thacea read a copy of the news article printed in Rhodesian Africa. 'Will not tolerate the punishment of R.A. citizens' he read to himself.

"Well I would like to see what they plan to do about it. Their citizens broke the laws of the country they reside. They will be punished!" he muttered to himself. He was so infuriated that he couldn't even make a reply to this insult. Instead, in an unwise fashion, he had six R.A. citizens publicly beaten and thrown in solitary confinement. This was his response. He wouldn't accept just the R.A. government not meddling with the punishment of his own citizens, he wanted them to bugger out completely!

OOC: Can I assume that Charles' family will benefit negatively from this?

A news article was written again, here is an excerpt:

"Rhodesia Africa will continue to pressure the Thaceans for the safe return of Rhodesian African citizens, such as the family of Charles Morris, who recently returned home. The R.A government hopes this issue can be resolved soon."

Not very many, a few search lights. But the prison staff is concerned with the sea.

The family of Charles Morris was awakened in the dark in a very grotesque manner. Gunshots filled the roof with holes as the two women were drug from their beds by their hair. The screams were drowned out by the contiuous automatic gunfire as they were drug from their comfortable housing to a dark damp solitary cell with no furnishings at all. Their tears ran free that night.

President Palpovich felt no remorse when he heard his orders were carried out. He had learned of what the Director had done and knew that the ambassador would pressure the R.A. Government to take a more freindly approach if he knew his family was at risk.

President Palpovich felt no remorse when he heard his orders were carried out. He had learned of what the Director had done and knew that the ambassador would pressure the R.A. Government to take a more freindly approach if he knew his family was at risk.

Charles Morris, in his first press conference, asked the government to consider his family's safety, to which the government replied that it was doing so. After some discussion, the government of Rhodesian Africa decided not to "make any policy changes concerning the issue."

In the public view, some felt that they should do something, while some suggested sanctions. Only a few suggested armed conflict. The government of Rhodesian Africa decided that it would be best at the moment to "use the pen rather than the sword."

The R.A government still did not change its stance on the issue, and Charles Morris decided to go into the countryside to contemplate things, waiting to hear of any new information.

OOC: Thanks. I guess I'll astart the landing.

IC: After a last search to make sure no incriminating evidence was on the Specops Commandos, They were each injected with a cyanide pellet for commiting suicide in case of capture. The cyanide would take effect when A commando's wrist was squeezed twice.Once the checks were completed, the operation was given the go-ahead.

From the bottom ring of the Onyx, 20 pods Silently slipped out, hurtling towards the prision complex. The landings had been timed as such that the searchlights would not be directed into their approach vector.

Once the pods were in atmosphere, The retrojets fired and kept the pods at a virtual standstill. The Commandos Then Ejected from their pods, Nighttime parachutes deploying. The pods then quietly disintigrated(sp). The commmandos were on the way.

From the safety of theOnyx, commander John Hartman watched in worry. he was to lead the flight of SorbJets to extract the prisioners and commandos.I hope nothing goes wrong...

OOC: If you're wondering how the Onyx looks like, think two doughnuts stuck together.Thacea, feel free to RP your side of the attack now. as in Defences etc etc.

ooc: hope you don't mind some more company, i presume this too will take the path of many others here thus far: captured nationals, international pressure, and when pressure refused, creative means of recovering said nationals.

Anthony Harris threw a nervous glance at his watch, the once well-maintained gold interlinks crusted over in mud and the face all but illegible through a caked layer of dirt scratched through at points by Harris' own nails--themselves a bit long. Like many foreigners, Harris had been caught entirely unawares by the order to leave the country immediately. Unfortunately, with no Thacean air carriers offering flights to the United Kingdom and Oceanian Airways suddenly banned, he was left with no real option than to run. Now the former Member of Parliament, in Thacea on the behalf of his new financial services company, was hiding in a forest outside the city.

Ordinarily, Harris would have eschewed the idea of even entertaining evasion; however, a rumour passed on by a Thacean colleague of rampant beatings and torture of all foreigners changed Harris' mind. His rational side knew that running only created the appearance of guilt--though he knew he was guilty of being a foreigner, only in Thacea apparently a crime worthy of torture. But his instinct for self-preservation had led him here; a quick e-mail through a friend's computer to a former colleague back in the UK, a backpack full of snack foods and bottled water, and a life in the wild for a man used to the urban High Street.

[OOC: Don't let me logging off stop your responses Thacea. Anyway, if the prison is like an island based on Alcatraz then I think I will attack it and try and get my citizens off of it and onto some sort of stealth ship rather than my previous idea. Hope thats okay with you? I am going to wait a few more posts, then you can post the outcome of the trial and I can respond in kind.

One more note, with all the OOC comments raging, we should get a OOC thread for this.]

Thacean National Prison, Maximum Security Cell 9X12P,
Foreign Operative Interegation

"No fucking answer the question!"

The agent gave no reply. Instead he spat blood at the guard's feet with whatever energy existed in him and yelled out in his native tongue.

ooc: I will post something about An GilDong soon.
