OOC: Imagine a planet where humans from any century are resurrected, where you can meet with people like Caligula for example. Well, after watching the movie, "Riverworld", I decided to try this RP idea out.

Story:
Riverworld is a planet in which humans of any century can be resurrected. In the movie, people who are resurrected include a Yoruba shamaness and a Auschwitz inmate, as well as Nero (the Roman Emperor).

In this version of "Riverworld", I plan to use the same model but with differences. First, the main characters will be guided by Hermes, the messenger in Greek mythology. Second, characters include:

1. Caligula (Roman Emperor)
2. Hernan Cortes (conqueror of the Aztecs)

The main characters are Lt. Malden (United States Air Force) and Emily (a Victorian British girl) who try to free the people from the government of Caligula, who decides to take control of Riverworld.

Along the way, they meet Hermes, Cortes, and others who they interact with. The planet also contains Humphrey Gilbert, a English explorer who was lost at sea for unknown reasons.

There is a river surrounding the entire planet and it can be used to travel through, and there may be some seas as well. As to how Lt. Malden (the only character from the 21st century) gets to Riverworld...his plane was intercepted by a beam of light.

I may allow you to choose a historical person to be, it could be Mark Twain, Stalin, even Hitler. If you would like, you could feud with other characters or simply interact. Since the movie showed children, I may allow children characters.

Information: In the United States, he is best remembered as a British general in the American War of Independence, often refered to as a military genius and recognized for his countless victorys and the surrender at Yorktown in 1781. Charles was educated at Eton College, He took up his first commission as Ensign in the 1st Foot Guards, in December 1757. His military education then continued as he traveled the continent with a Prussian officer who taught him all he knew. Cornwallis became Member of Parliament in January 1760, entering the House of Commons for the village of Wye in Kent. He succeeded his father as 2nd Earl Cornwallis in 1762.

1. The reason I ask is it may have some relevance on character creation/picking, also I noticed Osteia's character was gun/sword armed.

1. I guess guns would be acceptable, but the limit for centuries is the 21st century, you can not create a character from the 22nd century.

I think a musket pistol would be acceptable...not much use against Roman legions..but..it would give my charactor the upper hand in some situations...

I think firearms should be somewhat limited, in this rp it don't really matter how many shots you have...swordsmanship is the key factor here.

I really like my charactor choice though :)

We could always balance firearms and swordsmanship perhaps, but if you want to focus more on swordsmanship, I am ok with that.

Emily is a Victorian British girl and Lt.Malden's companion in Riverworld. She is an intelligent girl, able to speak English and Scottish Gaelic (she learned Scottish Gaelic from her Scottish mother). Emily can also quote from the books of Charles Dickens, whose novels she read. In this RP, she is a teenager and carries around a copy of the Pickwick Papers, one of Dickens' books.

OOC: Here is some information on Emily, I decided to remake my post.

Born during Britain's Victorian Era, Emily was the daughter of a English officer in the British Army and his Scottish wife. She can speak fluent Scottish Gaelic along with English, because her mother taught the language to her. Emily, along with most inhabitants of Riverworld, came to the area after a beam of light came upon them and transported them to Riverworld (trying to think about how to describe the origins of the inhabitants)

Essentially there is only one way to become 'rich' and that is by being a 'slaver'(one who forces people to use thier 'grails' to get food/cloth/luxuries' and then takening them for thier own use/barter for other things)

No magic, but it is quite likely that there are at least villiages if not small cities.

I always loved his pledge that the goddess earth and the underworld could have him in the battle as well as all the enemy army killed. Or to put it dramatically:

"I give myself body and soul to the dark gods of the underworld as long as the enemies I slay go to a deeper and darker pit."
