General Issac Brock looked out toward the Sea. This group of ships was defiantly far away from home. Actually they were close to the Island of Andros of the Bahamas. Traditionally Canadsteinians were not a war like people, but this was a worthy cause. It was to overthrow the fascist regime in the Bahamas. For far too long the dictator there had abused human rights. Daily on the news General Brock heard of the daily killings and hangings on the group of Islands. The actions of the Bahamian government disgusted the General. Now was the time to strike.

But the real final straw is when the fascist government led a military coup in Bermuda. They had successfully toppled the democratic government and installed a puppet government. General Brock guessed that it is why one of the Wasp class ships broke off from the fleet, consisting of four Wasp Classes and one Nimitz class. A certain Colonel Robert Shaw was commanding the troops aboard the ship. Issac hoped that Colonel Shaw got the job done.

General Brock stood on the deck of the Nimitz class carrier named Warrior. Aboard the Warrior were a group of CF-18 Hornet pilots. They had been given the pleasure of starting this campaign off. General Brock watched as each CF-18 took off from the deck. Ten of the Hornets were going to do a bomb run on Andros Island, while the other ten were going to do the same thing, but on the Island of New Providence. Their targets were only military units. They had strict orders not to harm any civilians.

While they were conducting the bomb run, the three Wasp class ships would get closer to the island. Then they would finally land. A Wasp would land on the North and another on the South sides of Andros Island. The last Wasp would land on New Providence. A mechanized brigade had been distributed among the four Wasp Class ships, but each ship had three Leopard 2A6M and five LAV III. Also in addition each Wasp had one Infantry Brigade aboard that numbered at 1,000 soldiers. The Infantry Brigades would create a beach head for the mechanized brigade to land. Then they would slowly move out and take over the designated island.

General Brock knew that this operation was fairly easy. Off in the distance he could hear the explosions made by the bombs dropped by the Hornets. All was going as planned.

The Canadstein military force was going in far too overconfidently-making their presence belligerently known. The government, located in Nassau, was primed for this-the Canadstein force was going about hitting other islands, and the civilians of the Bahamas, having seen the Canadstein forces before they reached land, were preparing for all-out war-every house, ever street, every room-to throw the Canadstein forces back to the sea. But the government, loyal to the people, would do its job.

As the Canadstein force was just launching preemptory attacks, the government came out with this message, broadcast on international channels on the very active and very functional communications lines-it would go across the world to news nets everywhere. The Prime Minister of the Bahamas, a Constitutional Monarchy, came out with the speech.

"It is apparent that the nation of Canadstein has lost all regard for the sovereignty of nations," the Prime Minister began in his speech. "We, the Bahamas, are a nation built around the people-we are a simple tourist community, we act as a nation. A Constitutional Monarchy-for the people. We recently suffered a slight civil incident-a man with disregard for life attempted the overthrow of the government. However, apparently the Canadstein government believes he actually made through with his goal-the man was stopped, and freedom perseveres in the Bahamas. The Canadstein forces, on the other hand, appear to act with the will of one who holds disregard for life itself-and if that is the goal of the Canadstein government, then it is up to the international community whether to let this menace go unpunished or not. We of the Bahamas ask of the community as a member of the global network of nations-we are a simple nation trying to make our living in the Carribbean commenwealth, and this blatant attack on our soil is simply an indicator of what Canadstein can do. We ask, please, help us in our darkest hour, preserve our people, our present, our future!"

The Prime Minister stepped off of the press conference with claps around.

Out on the islands, however, the Hornets were in disregard for how civilians could react when their very lives were under attack. Several portable SAM launchers-SA-7s-popped up, guided missiles flying into the sky as the Hornets swept overhead. There was little warning-the bombs from the Hornets fell, all varieties, crashing down onto the military buildings. Supplies erupted in flame and shrapnel, blasts shooting into the air. SAMs chased after the Hornets after the bombs fell, the missiles shooting off into the air. SA-7s were easy to obtain-and even the Bahaman defense force had some, much like small nations across the world.

In one personal home, a twenty-three year old man turned on a personal computer cam. He held an M14 in his hands, and stared directly into the videocam. A large Bahaman flag was in his background, and the man stood straight, with dignity and pride. Quickly, he said his piece:

"I am but an ordinary civilian, an ordinary person. But I am a human-one of many. The Canadstein government has grossly misinterpreted how the Bahaman people will take this-they will pay for each inch of land with feet of their own blood. We, the people-we will have freedom."

With that, he ended the video. Quickly, the man posted the clip on YouTube-the international, global, video-sharing site. Soon, with the Prime Minister's press conference to the world, the video would get out to civilians, to the young and old-an international firestorm of attention was on the doorstep.

YOUTUBE VIDEO SEES MASS OUTPOUR OF SYMPATHY FROM HONAKON CITIZENS
Imperial Herald, 2007 Issue

The video on YouTube had caused quite a stir in the Imperial Empire. Honakon citizens are the highest in the world, and it was reported nearly 10 million You Tube geeks from the nation watched the media panned "Simple Caribbean Man" video, which gathered a number of heartfelt responses from the Honakon people who showed sympathy for their plight against the Canadstians, but the Monarch has expressed concerns that it "encourages terrorism, which should not be employed, even in these difficult times for the people of the Bahamas". This is believed to be another one in many anti-terror statements by the Monarch used to justify the invasion of Mongolia and it's reasons.

The speech by the President as been broadcasted over and over by news networks, saying that this could possibly see a AMB Federation war with the Canadstein nation, with Honakon's outspoken Governor Tallon of Huis (RL Thailand), a man from Jamaica who has expressed his concerns over the events there, dragging Honakon into the situation. The You Tube video of the speech has garnered six million Honakon views.

It is believed a mass demostration against the events in the Bahamas will attract over 60,000 supporters when it takes place in the Imperial Capital of Duska this weekend, showing the amount of public support for the people of the area.

So far the Honakon Empire Supreme Monarch has spoken little of the events in the Caribbean and Central America recently, and it's believed that no formal statement will ever be made.

The Hornets easily dodged the incoming missiles. Though when the pilots found their targets dodging these missiles became a challenge. The pilots commenced their bombing runs and successfully destroyed their designated military targets. On the way back to the carrier they reported that one Hornet had been shot down, and that the pilot had ejected from the aircraft. It was good to know that the pilot was already, but he was going to land in a hornet's nest.

As the Hornets raced over the sea they could see the Wasps en route to the Islands. On board each Wasps six AV-8 Harrier II were taking off. They would commence the second bombing mission. They were outfitted with the AGM-65Maverick air-to-ground missile. Their mission was to destroy any key civilian targets, such as a power planet. The eighteen Harriers formed into two groups of nine and sped off to their targets, nine to Andros and the other nine to New Providence.

Once the Harriers had taken off the Wasps continued to their targets. Off in the distance the soldiers could see massive explosions. This was going to be a cake walk. Most of the officers said that the Bahamas would be there's in the day. The sun rose in the east. It was a fire red that somehow mixed with the black smoke.

Most of the soldiers aboard were nervous as hell. This would be some of their first combat, but they knew that the Bahamas barely had an army and that they were better trained. Still the thought of dead lingered in their minds. Though one group of soldiers was not scared at all, they were the men of the Joint Task Force 2.

The men of JTF 2 had two key missions. The first was to capture the Prime Minister of the Bahamas. The second was capture and secure the major airport in the Nassau, the capital. Once the Harriers took off, the JTF 2 split into their two groups. They boarded the CH-46 Sea Knights and took off to their targets. Each Sea Knight was being escorted by a single AH-1 SuperCobra.

Caribbean Sea, 0745

The Wasps landed on the beaches and the soldiers started to pour out. They formed a perimeter and created a beachhead for the armored units. The soldiers had strict orders to fire only when fired at. Even if they saw a man running by with a gun they could not kill him. The land invasion of Operation Sunny Day was underway. General Brock watched as the men loaded onto the beach. He tightly gripped his saber wanting to engage in battle.

To the Bahamian Gov't

We recognise your plight with powers far greater than yourselves, and we at Schroeder are willing to help. Weapons can be supplied for a small fee, and if worst comes to worst for you, we will be able to send a team of soldiers to safeguard you if you choose to go into exile in the SCT. You are a very capitalist nation such as ourselves, and we hope that you may pull through your gallant struggle.

On another note, if you do fail to rid them from your nation, we would like to ask you if it is possible for volunteers in your armed forces and police to come along with your gov't in exile where they could be further trained and brought into our mercenary force.

Best Wishes,
-Armond Spee, CEO of Schroeder Corp.

Colonel Shaw quickly looked at his watch and back to the deck of the Wasp class ship. A couple of days ago his ship had separated from the fleet and started to move at a slower pace. Colonel Shaw knew what his assignment was the moment he boarded the ship, to take back Bermuda from the hands of the Bahamian puppet government. His superior officer, General Brock, had gone with the other fleet to strike right into the hornet's nest. Today was the day for Operation Sunny Day to go ahead and commence.

He stood rigidly as watched the six Harriers take off the deck and fly toward Bermuda. The ship was far enough from Bermuda not to be seen from the coast, but close enough to actually see the coast of Bermuda. Bermuda's one regiment had been literally torn apart by the Bahamians, so the island literally had no army to speak off. These Bahamians had numbers over the Bermudian Army, but defiantly not training. Satellite photos had been taken off the island and the military base had been singled out with many key civilian targets. The Harriers were going to have the element of surprise and bomb those targets.

Colonel Shaw could see the Harrier, but they were merely dots. Soon to follow were the four AH-1 SuperCobras. Those helicopters were going to follow right behind the Harriers and destroy any remaining military units.

The Sea Knights were floating targets, and there was only so much each Cobra could do. From pinpointed locations throughout the routes taken by the helos, concentrated fire from automatic weapons ripped open through the sky-some targeting the rocket pods of the Cobras to initiate their explosion and cripple the attack helos, others raking fire at the cargo choppers's rotors and exposed large cockpit, bullets flying through the sky. The civilians, armed with everyday automatic and semi-automatic weapons-AK-47s, M14s, and the like-were throwing up hell in the skies. One innovative party had even attached an M249 SAW to the back of a Ford F-150 Pickup and were using it as a mobile gun platform to strike at a Sea Knight.

The Harriers were significantly slower than the Hornets-giving SA-7 soldiers, not even targeted by the Hornets, plenty of time to spot targets udner brush and to paint and lock targets. SA-7 SAMs popped up from concealed locations, spiraling out of cover towards the slower Harriers.

Meanwhile, the beaches were quiet-activity did not meet the unloading troops.

We are in dire need of either mercenaries, weapons, or both-we can submit some pay up front, and then send the rest later once we can get the pay if we do not have enough now, anything-but we must find a wayto repulse these invaders, and your source is one of the best.

Both the Sea Knight and SuperCorba received some small arms fire, but were high up to not receive a kill. Though both helicopter rained hell when they unleashed either their M197 Gatling gun or XM-218 machine gun onto the ground bellow. The helicopters started to decrease altitude once they were close to their targets, Lynden Pindling International Airport or The Bahamian Parliament Buildings. Once they were over the target the Sea Knight started to land, while the SuperCorba scoped out the area and provided cover for the Sea Knight.

Once the Sea Knight hit the ground the JTF 2 soldiers poured out and started to secure their target. The Airport was crucial to part of the Operation. Once the Airport was captured they could send more troops into the interior of New Providence and land their planes there. The special forces at the Parliament Buildings had orders to try to capture any of the member of the Parliament. Not knowing any of their faces the men basically let no on go.

-------

Picking the SAMs up, the Harrier pilots knew the easiest solution. They started to gain altitude, thus reaching the ceiling height of the missiles. Though this would cause to lose precious minutes on their bomb run, they got back into formation and continued onto the flight path. The secondary targets, such as power plants or fuel depots, had been painted and marked for the infrared targeting on the Mavericks. On their approached they started to lose altitude. Once seeing their targets they let their Mavericks go. The Maverick went straight into their targets and created a blaze of glory. The Harriers made their way back to the Wasps, and had a lost of one Harrier along with two damaged Harriers.

General Brock stood on the beach of New Providence. The group on this beach was going to take the pearl of this campaign, Nassau the capital. Once the armored units were on the beaches the men started to move forward. Issac stood and watched the men moved out. This was going to be a fine day. The sun had finally rose and daylight was upon them.

OOC: Canadstein, you cannot just completly dodge around everything the resistance is throwing at you. Harriers would not be able to "easilly maneuver" away from those missiles. SA-7 SAMs are hard to dectect, lock on quickly, and use a heat source to home in on. While they can be dodged by moving above their ceiling, certainly all of your Harriers would not be able to do that. You did the same thing before with the Hornets.

Also, helos are not impervious to ground fire. Quite a few of the helicopter crashes in Iraq today have been because of ground fire.

I'm almost ready to call godmodding on this and will bring it to the attention of the mods in the main thread.

OOC: I okay I admit that the helicopter thing was a god mod, but I did not say it was completely invincible to the ground fire. I said that it received some, but continued with the mission. With the harrier I can basically say that the SA-7 has a limited in range, speed, and altitude. So the Harriers can easily dodge them by flying up higher. Also if we want to talk about god mod or stuff that is messed up, then how about 40% of GDP going to military? In real life North Korea barely has 10% and that is pushing.

The men landing at the airport were easy targets-and fortifications set up earlier by the Bahaman defense force were ready now-and well-concealed. An HK GMG, concealed behind a pile of scrap metal, opened fire at the highly exposed soldiers. The grenade machine gun first ripped off three rounds at the helo before focusing on the deploying soldiers, 40mm grenades flying through the air towards the soldiers. Two MG3 machine guns from 30 degree angles from the GMG also opened fire, catching the soldiers in a deadly crossfire as tracer rounds lit up the morning air. The airport would either be held or destroyed-no more.

The Harriers had opened fire, and the Mavericks had ripped open damage across the civilian structures. Three natural gas power plants exploded violently, civilian workers blown into flame and ashes as the plants blew flame and shrapnel high into the sky. If the Canadstein forces had wanted a short, uncontested war, they had just gone and done it the wrong way-the Bahamians were now seeing the ugly side of the invaders-apparently, no civilian would be spared.

The Parliament building, much like the airport, suddenly became a battleground. MG3s, set up before the Sea Knights had landed, caught the exposed deploying troops in 60 degree angle crossfire, bullets tearing across the open ground. Cover was scarce, and the MGs had a very open line of attack. From inside the Parliament building itself, policing forces equipped with PSG1 semi-automatic sniper rifles began rippling accurate fire at the exposed soldiers. From behind the troops back towards the city, sniper fire from the rear began cutting the air towards the soldiers.

On the expansive, open beach, things looked even easier. The armored units and infantry were highly exposed-great for the defenders simply waiting for them, both civilian resistance, policing units, and a few of the Bahamian guard, to take on the armor. M72 LAW units shot AT rockets off towards the exposed armor units, with barely a moment to blink. Cover inland was easy to find, but the sandy beaches were far too exposed-the only cover was the ocean itself. Remington 700 and PSG1 sniper-armed civilians and police units began cutting the air with precise fire, bullets streaming towards the beach and exposed soldiers as the rockets flew in towards the cavalry.

Over the Mid-Atlantic Waters, 60 miles off of Staniel Cay

Three massive C-130 transport planes flew towards the island of Staniel Cay. Their goal was to hot drop the mercenaries and equipment on the island's airport and link up at the local Police station in Staniel (The village on the island.) Hopefully, the Bahamian Gov't liason there would be able to accomodate them and show them orders of operations in the main skirmish.

The Sea Knight exploded and erupted into flames, on the tarmac, as the platoon finished getting out. They were pinned down and hid behind the burning Sea Knight. The soldiers took a quick estimate and guessed that they had five causalities so far. Lieutenant Miller directed the men to fire their M203 grenade launchers at the machine gun nests. Meanwhile the team's sniper was easily picking off any incoming Bahamians. This platoon was not going down without a glorious firefight. Lieutenant Miller grabbed a nearby radio and reported his situation.

The same situation was happening at the Parliament Building. The men were pinned by had launched grenades into the machine nests. Lieutenant Bluff had called into HQ, which was down by the beaches, to level the place with artillery. Off in the distance he could hear the artillery coming.

"GET DOWN!" cried out Lieutenant Bluff.

The members of the platoon hit the ground and watched as the buildings around them crashed to the ground. It was utter hell where they were. But soon enough there was only silence.

A couple of the armored units had been damaged or immobilized, but he infantry units soon engaged the men on the beach. Behind them they saw the artillery go off. The soldiers needed to make a push or they would be stuck dying on the beaches. From the deck of the Wasp two SuperCobras took off and started to shoot of their rake the beach line with their Gatling guns. The armored units started to move up once the SuperCobras had finished their attack run.

At the airport, the GMG nest and one of the MG3 nests blew from the grenades, but the other MG3 nest had had its grenade come in early, allowing the troops there to throw it off into the distance before it exploded in the air. The nest continued to pour in fire-but the crossfire was lost. However, sniper units were now forming from behind the squad, taking cover in the positions they knew best, and behind heavy metal scrap piles. At that, one of the soldiers saw a fuel tank towards the left-near the runway cross.

"Hit the tank!" the soldier yelled. A direct hit wouldn't kill the enemy, but it would blow the runway out of commission.

A shrapnel grenade zoomed in on the fuel tank, and the volatile air fuel exploded as the grenade blew shrapnel through the tank. Fire spewed out as the fuel vented through the sky, flame blasting apart the runway. Some shrapnel caught another nearby tank, which also proceeded to explode, fire and flame blasting up in a giant conflagration. An evern better stance then appeared for the defenders-smoke concealment was now easily avaliable. Bullets cut off any movement vector from the enemy combatants as the defenders continued to transfer position.

At the Parliament building, things weren't going so well. The entire Parliament building had erupted in a massive explosion-it was a good thing that the Prime Minister wasn't in. However, civilian casulties were mounting, and the policing forces inside were history. The snipers behind the forces weren't affected by the building getting wasted, however, and precise shots continued to come in from semi-automatic rifles. From behind the Parliament building, a second force of policing units took position behind the burning rubble as it settled, letting the smoke conceal them from view.

At the beachhead, the Super Cobras had done their job mostly well-the first wave of civilians and policing units were wasted in the vegetation cover. However, more were starting to pop up-the Bahamas had plenty of very-motivated civilians after what the Canadstein forces had pulled. Ak-47 fire and LAW rockets-slightly antiquated, but they had proved their mettle in wars before-continued to fire in, now from new positions. SA-7-armed combatants moved into firing arcs, wielding the cheap and easy-to-obtain weapons around with ease. Like they had promised-a foot of blood for every inch of land. Several Molotov cocktails flew in, targeting the armored units to strike their less-protected undersides.

Staniel Regional Airport, Staniel Cay, Bahamas

While the 150 mercenaries parachuted down onto the island near its main village, the other two C-130's made hotdrops of their supplies on the runway, landing, but without slowing down throwing a parachute out the back that sucked out the supplies to the runway. Once the supplies were dropped, the cargo planes began their flight back to the Territories, planned for a refueling stop on the way.

Meanwhile, the mercenaries moved into the village, seeking the police station and sending in their leader to speak with the commander there. The other troops began to drag the supply drop into the village and bring it to the back of the Staniel Crock Pot (A nice resteraunt there) where is was covered with camo netting and hidden away.

At the Staniel police precinct, several military commanders from the Guard were present, along with local police chiefs. A bunch of Guardsmen, armed with AK-47s and LAWs, were present, along with sniper and rifle-armed policemen.

"Glad to have your boys here," the military commander said to the Merc leader as he entered. "So far, Staniel hasn't been hit-we're pretty minor-but some fierce fighting is going on in other places. We've had some recent success-the civvies are pretty motivated, si-but the Canadstein forces have the aircraft that are causing a bit of trouble. Our SA-7s are keeping them edgy, but they hit our power district with a Maverick strike that was devestating. Currently, we've got three fronts-Nassau beachhead, at the Parliament, and at the international airport. The Beach doesn't seem to be going well-LAW forces are taking some armor out, but they're plowing through us. The Parliament is fifty-fifty-the building was hit, but sessions were officially closed, so a bunch of support personnel inside were killed, but little of our leadership. The airport seems to be our best locale so far-they got a really exposed force, we hear via radio, and our boys just blasted the runway to prevent them from taking it."

The mercenary commander began taking down notes on his Military-grade Blackjack PDA, then put it back in his pocket.

"Okay, so from the looks of things tha bastards are pretty comfortable killing civilians." said the Mercenary. "That is a problem. The fact that they will openly bomb any building, civilian or military, to get what they want will be an ongoing issue for both of us. You may have seen the C-130's earlier make a hot drop on the runway. That is the supplies we were able to round up for you, so if you would follow me to the Crock Pot, I can give you a look."

The commander led the Bahamian forces over to the back of the resteraunt where the camo netted supplies lay.

"We have a variety of weapons." said the Mercenary. "Over here we have over 3000 R7 modular rifles, here are some Stingers, SA-15s, and most importantly for this operation, mines. We brought along a total of 700 mines, 200 being anti-armor and the other 500 being anti-personell. With the battle I invisioned fighting here, which was confirmed by your reports, these packages of joy in a metal case should play very well to our advantage."

"Mines'll definately help out," the commander said. "Some IEDs from our resistance civvies have already been placed for remote det, but mines will be easier and less time-consuming. The Stingers will be good too-we need something better than our SA-7s, which aren't having much of an impact. I've got a good portion of our forces around here on Staniel holding out-we're using it as our CC."

"The civilian thing is a bit of a problem so far, but they haven't resorted to carpet-bombing yet," the commander continued, "I don't think they want to drag Ambrose-Douglas in to the fight, so they're playing it safe. They do seem to be key in knocking out important structures, so if we can stay in the ordinary locales, I think we have a good chance of executing pick-and-roll attacks on them before they can really respond well. If we can use these AA equipment to knock down their helo and fighter force, that'll go a long way-for the most part, we're stalling, or at least slowing, their ground, and with this stuff we should be able to start pushing ourselves from the shadows."

Roadblocks will be a necessity by allowing us to channel them into designated killzones where we can rip their armor and infantry to shreds. And remember, we are just the beginning. If more forces are available, they will be sent in to assist you with more equipment and supplies, so if we hold out long enough, we can discourage the bastards to halt their attack. If we can pin them down in Nassau, we can turn the city into a larger version of Red Square-it's got plenty of alleys and narrow streets we can use to our advantage, and some of the plazas can be turned into slaughter grounds, assuming we can get the jump, which I believe our forces can."
